Russian soldiers who are in Pakistan right now would soon realize they are in the wrong side of the border. There is no strategic benefit in siding with terrorists. It will not bring any glory to them but shame.

I think this time we should have made it official anyways. Next time we can say "kashmiri freedom fighters" attacked Pakistani occupation force.

OK, just got a message from family friend who works with a canine unit in the valley. We hit their regulars HARD. Officers included in kill count.

I'm happy now. :D

As per Nitin Gokhale, attack launched across 19, 25 and 28 infantry division AOR. These are in Baramulla, Rajouri and Kupwara. Action across a wide front.

I guess the recent news of army moving 2 x brigades into south Kashmir districts meant army was using the intervening after attack for getting LOC and hinterland forces in place.

The surgical strikes coordinated by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval along with Army chief, were carried out in Bhimber, Hot Spring, Kel and Lipa sectors.According to reports, special commandos of the Indian Army entered 3 kms inside Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir for the operation and total six terror camps were demolished.

TOI and other reports have this:
"The strikes targeted the terrorists and those backing them," the DGMO said.

Both your friend's comment as well as the DGMO's corroborate each other.

As to informing Pakistan, that's what mature and superior powers do. Remember US also informed Pakistan after the Osama operation. :D

Indian Army informs after an operation, the Pakistan Army denies after an operation. Remember they even refused to take the bodies of their dead soldiers during Kargil.

We wail about == with Pakistan, we sometimes subconsciously do it ourselves, IMO

there is NO PLATINUM BULLET. excuses of X Y Z not there can always be given even by US army/USAF/USN. forget about all these and fight is what we want the Govt to do.. vietnam was in the stone age vs china/usa/france and it fought them hard enough for all to cut their losses and run.

No casualties suffered from our end. Our border surveillance and planning was clearly impeccable. This must have been a MASSIVE surgical offensive to punch through the border and take out 6 camps and come back unscathed. No doubt the Paras were involved.

Happy as hell! What were the targets and the outcomes?

I want to celebrate, but want to wait for a month for a bigger mithai event. ;-)
Just hoping leaves are not cancelled across the board. Markets are spooked. Am sure the leaders of secular and civil society (especially those that wanted to be Prez) will be rudaaling to the high heavens about the costs.

If we destroyed 6 terror camps, our special operations detachments couldn't have done it alone. Airforce may have been involved in this.

I was watching Times Now program with Arnab and literally having tears of Joy. Great job by our Army folks for giving it back to frikking pigs. Excellent decision by Modi/PMO to initiate this move...its like Modi saying to Army, "u guys go and do what needs to be done and I'll deal with the consequences". Long time coming...

Apparently, SF were paradropped 0.5-3 Kms inside POK at around 12:30 AM and operation went around until 4:30 AM. Anyone who defended terrorists were killed

Edit: Gen Bakshi on the program was mentioning that Pak Def establishment has been on high alert since the last 10 days. PA has been rehearsing all sorts of drills across LOC and would have anticipated such an attempt. In spite of the TSP preparedness, our boys have infiltrated and did they job successfully!

Awesome...so proud of IA/GoI

No way. This is far too big a task for a few special forces teams. This was a combined ground air assault mission. We put a few bombs on them and mopped up any residual contamination.

What happened to all those shiny F-16s landing in highways with their flaming Mushes proudly held high, hain? Where is that bloody imbecile who said their nukes weren't showpieces? GoI delivered a massive kick to the pork nards.. Expecting PA to execute the honorable and time tested rule of downhill skiing and promptly throwing the PM under the bus..

And of course declare victory due their scrotal brilliance..

>>12:30 AM and operation went around until 4:30 AM

surely the PA must have received some panicky calls on radios and cell phones..but the situation must have been very scary with multiple indian bombers loaded for bear, with heavy fighter escort orbiting 10km away to pounce on any such reinforcements and so they as usual decided to let it go, just as they abandoned and sold out OBL. who wants a couple of brahmos dropping in to ruin their neat cantonment camp with all amenities...so PA KNEW it very well being a 4 hr op but kuch bhi ukhad nahi paya it seems. they sat tail between legs like frightened cats until dawn and them came out waving the green flag.

and "attacked those who tried to help them" could mean here and there, a less pragmatic PA junior officer of a jihad pasand bent of mind did send in reinforcements but got waylaid and wiped out.
