Also I notice he seems to be preparing to make the point the some of the structures destroyed were those previously used for "charity work" by JuD and Lashkar. I think once details come it from any source, it will also lead to obfuscations about charity workers, religious workers and civilians etc.

How about revisiting many #SurgicalStrikes just for #bhaiwood retakes? we need a trailer out first and a future film release date. So many paki actors are willing!

'Utter nonsense': Former Army chiefs slam demand for release of surgical strike footage

<-----
NEW DELHI: Amid a raging debate to show evidence of surgical strikes+ carried out by the Army across the LoC, three former Army chiefs have slammed the political parties who have demanded the release of video footage.

It is "utter nonsense" that people are asking the Army to prove the operation+ , said former Army chief General VP Malik and wondered what is wrong with the political class+ .

"Only the Army should take a call on whether to release the video or not and when," he said.

Hitting out at those questioning the credibility of the strikes+ , he said "The video should not be released just because some stupid people have sought so."

Another former Army chief Gen JJ Singh also joined Malik in criticising such voices and said when armed forces make a claim there should be no doubt.

"Very proud of our para commandos and the mission they have done. Anybody who thinks they have to prove their worth let me tell them that they are living in a fool's paradise. We should never believe what Pakistan media is trotting out," he said.

Yet another former army chief Gen Shankar Roy Choudhary also spoke out against the release of the video saying the country's secrets should not be put in the open.

He added that Pakistan was looking for an opportunity to gain from any such release.

Echoing his views, a former IG of BSF said release of such video could hamper India's future strategy.

A debate raged on Wednesday over whether government should release evidence of the Army's surgical strikes+ across the LoC with BJP leader Subramanian Swamy favouring putting out an edited version of the video on the action.

Rejecting the demand, the BJP attacked some Congress leaders and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for raising questions over the strikes and accused them of giving a handle to Pakistan to advance its false propaganda.

The Congress, on its part, insisted that it has never questioned the authenticity of the strikes but steered clear of the demand, including from within its own ranks, for the release of evidence, saying it would give appropriate advise in the best interest of national security if consulted by the government.

Swamy, a Rajya Sabha member, said anybody questioning the operation should prove prima facie evidence to support his allegation but added that video should be released following a newspaper report on Wednesday that gave details of the operation.

"I think they should edit the video of the logistics value of it and show the other part, showing explosions, the dead body... they have got in the video. So all these parts can be released," he said.

He, however, added that the bluff of those questioning the Army's claim should be called by not responding to them.

A large number of countries, including Russia, have congratulated India on these strikes, he said.

BJP Spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said, "At a time when the whole world has stopped believing Pakistan we have the spectacle of Congress, Kejriwal and other parties questioning strike carried out by our armed forces and giving a handle to Pakistan to advance its false propaganda."

Reacting to the newspaper report, he said the credibility of Indian armed forces is so high that the whole world has rallied behind India and supported surgical strikes. "We do not need to rely on any media report to justify statement of the armed forces".

Steering clear of the issue, Congress' chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, "Let government consult all political parties and we would give appropriate advise in the best interest of national security."

Congress had on Tuesday disassociated itself from the controversial remarks of its leader Sanjay Nirupam, who had alluded that the Army's assertion of a surgical strike could be fake.

Since the clamour for proof is politically motivated, the BJP can riposte to the Congress that they should have released proof that they carried out those surgical strikes themselves.

Since they thought it not important to release the proofs when they were in power, the current GoI is not going to either

Our satellite capabilities are an unknown to them. The use of satellite imagery has flabbergasted them, both the pakis and the hans. It means that their unholy activities in paki terror camps and han dam building sites are being constantly being monitored by us too, apart from other interested parties and we are the only actually "interested" power in the region with satellites constantly in the orbit of interest.

Our operational details on video will allow the paki planners to assess the details of our satellite resolution et al. We routinely sell satellite imagery to commercial users across the world but this is a different beast to our military imagery.

Do not release the video under any circumstances.

+1

No matter how much hue and cry, detailed videos showing our capabilities should never be released. Yes, they may release selective footage from GoPro-type bodycams without compromising our other abilities. However, nothing is going to make the Bakis publicly accept anything from us to be authentic, so it does not really matter any way.

I am not an Army General, but one of the strategies of any warfare would be to keep the enemy guessing as to your true capabilities and let him underestimate them as much as possible.

It is incredible that people like Khujli and ShookLaw continue to harass the government to release 'evidence'. Talk about a conflict of national interest!

Very true.

After all anyone who wants proof can always go the various sites and verify for themselves. In person. What better way to prove to oneself that being there in person.

If most launch pads within 4-5 KM from IB/LOC can't we just keep shelling the spots. Most guns have range of 20+ KMs ?

I think NTRO and IAF are using satellites, AWACS to keep a close eye and coordinating activities in J&K.
The Indian armed forces are operating under a C4I bubble, fully linked with seamless communications
Artillery is prolly targetting the new launch pads, forces on the LOC are taking out the ones that filter through.
Can't really deny that even more strikes are not taking place.

The place might be still very hot for all one can say.

The one new thing that has come up during this whole incident is the mention of NTRO in the context of a mil operation.
A first in Indian history, where NTRO has been openly mentioned in the mil context.

Drones would be perfect for cross border targeting, why risk our guys? and the fear of grim reaper above hovering over to send "good terrorists" to meet their 72s would send shivers down every time they collect in a PoK camp or in a launch pad.

It would be interesting, if IAF uses drones to nail pigs, esp predators (to be bought soon, hopefully).. Pakis will find themselves in another quagmire..

If they shoot the Indian drones down, the obvious question from the Telebunnies and the aam apduls would be: Why the eff did you not shoot the Great Khan's drones, hain?

Seems like that deficit is being addressed as we type :)

http://www.ibtimes.com/india-us-defense ... ys-2426572
India and the United States are reportedly pushing forward a deal for the supply of Predator drone aircraft in order to complete the project before U.S. President Barack Obama leaves office early next year.

“It is progressing well. The aim is to complete the main process in the next few months,” Reuters quoted a government official in New Delhi — speaking on condition of anonymity — as saying. He was referring to the country’s request for 22 Predator Guardian drones — to be used for military surveillance — that was made in June this year.

India is apparently rushing to conclude the deal under the Obama administration as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shares cordial relations with the American president after several personal interactions since the former took office in 2014. India serves as a strategic partner in the U.S. mission to tackle terrorism in the region while Washington has replaced Moscow as the top arms supplier to New Delhi.

A number of other defense and nuclear collaborations and deals between the two countries are in the pipeline currently. While the multibillion-dollar U.S. nuclear reactor deal is still being worked out, the United States has offered India its flight launch technology for New Delhi to develop its biggest aircraft carrier.

“They have already started helping us on our first indigenous carrier, in terms of certification, quality testing,” the Indian official told Reuters. “The challenge will be to sustain the momentum over the next decade.”

The uncertainty over who will take over from Obama following the November elections has been a cause of worry for the South Asian country. While Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has been seen in a more or less positive light — especially since she has dealt with India in the past during her stint as the secretary of state — there is more apprehension regarding Donald Trump, the Republican candidate.

Other than Trump’s isolationist rhetoric and continued call for a dial back on the country’s presence in other regions, his contradictory stand with regards to India has been a cause of concern. Reuters quoted Manoj Ladwa, a London-based political strategist and former communications director for Modi’s last election campaign, as saying: “On the one hand, he says he values business relations with India, but then mimics Indian call center workers, and disregards the competitiveness that a partnership with India could provide the U.S.”

“His unpredictability is worrisome in a world that requires steady and mature statesmanship,” Ladwa added, about Trump.

PS: somehow Trump gets thrown under the bus.. such are journ-al-ists only

Military must have sanitized the 90mn video that it gave the government. Now it is up Modi Sarkar to release the video on a time it chooses the best :-) I am not as brave as Shiv to bet on my testimonials, but Modi Sarkar will release when people least expect it :-)

If Gagan takes so much care to post images on BRF and on the internet, do you think Indian military is that careless to give the government sensitive details? Think onlee bhai log :rotfl:

The drones can target the deeper lying targets identified by NTRO and local intel.
What is also needed is Ikhwani force inside POK raising the stakes for the Jihadi-Pak Fauj combine.

This template needs to be adopted for the provinces as well.
