Practically, blogs are the best option. All photo upload sites would delete your photos within a few months unless you have an account.

I have a basic question. From wiki it seems Spice 2000 has a range of 60km. Does this depend on the altitude of launch?
Does higher altitude launch enable longer range?

If we can standoff from 60km, it means we can destroy pure defences in future without even entering their airspace or is Spice too expensive to do this? There are some articles claiming that Spice is much more expensive than JDAM but has better CEP (3meter)

yes depends on altitude of launch... depends on how valuable the target is. i think the m2k had to ingress deep into Pakistan as they went in low ...

From reports this is not what happenned, IAF just extra sure in wanting the weapon to hit the targets. PAF ground radars were jammed, ORP F16 s took off, by the time they got close enough to identify that there 12 Bogies, they were radar locked on by Su30's , they disengaged. By the time PAF had enough aircraft ready raid was over and M2000 wereback.

Based on Kargil experience IAF would not have risked bomb carrying relavility unmavourable aircraft going in at low altitude.Pakis have lots of stingers and Anzas, although the anzas have always failed and stingers have done the kills. Remember Pak Army was also on high alert.

so pakistan has issued a pre-emptive demarche to indian envoy about forthcoming attack and also complained to the UN security council.
their FM Qureishi saab even gave a date range of 16-20 Apr.

tonight i went to the annual gala of the League of Shadows, but ras al ghul was absent, until the nondescript guy serving the fish revealed his true krishna type many incarnations roop.

what the league felt was pakistan lurches from crisis to crisis every decade but always managed to engineer one big crisis or tactical play every decade to milk for funds - 9/11 being the prime example, kargil another, CPEC big the current hoped for windfall.

the afghan story is played out and massa not interested anymore in handing out funds.

so they need another sob story to milk more money from arab donors and china. the chinese are frugal by nature and have a transactional mentality and ummah biraderi card no apply in peking dragon halls.

so how about a tactically brilliant plan?

use specially trained local kashmiri team to carry out a mass casualty attack like 26/11 either in any metro city, killing dozens of people , cause complete mayhem, take hostages , drag it out as long as possible.

these cadres will have their fingerprints and id in aadhar database and in any case will carry indian DL and aadhar card copies.

a unknown new outfit called "lashkar-e-sopore" will call in and claim responsibility, releasing final videos, copies of their ID as concrete proof that this was a local attack by alienated cashmere youth (better if some cadres brother was slain terrorist or got shot in some stone throwing riot) ... this weeks SJW cause is the 2 days/week high way ban is hitlerian in nature.

pre emptive demarche indicates wheels may already be in motion.

force the india govt into tough choices
- hit pak with no pak outfit claiming responsibility and get internationally condemned, lose political capital
- do nothing and look feeble and have an impact on elections

their calculation is india will hit out, and with 84 F16 and 500-5 = 495 amraams + unknown saudi transfers they will fight a defensive air battle for 1 week, hit a few counterpunches in dpsa mode in north india @ night using the block52 solahs and generally hold their own is the hope. if they do well, big loss of face for india - put in its place as the self-castrated south asian pygmy, if they do badly, their wails and howls will be more genuine and oblige 4 fathers to help.

china would be expected to step in asap and salvage their client state.

but from peking pov, why should they pay the bill both in money and political cost unless and until Pak were half beaten to death and on verge of real loss of face ? they will help but only if Pak breaks all links to massa as the #1 paymaster and signs on china as the #1 paymaster, overlord and owner of all pak ports and infra. that way its colonisation will be complete.
this may also be what pak wants, a smooth way to ease out usa saying "you did nothing" and move on to the next phase as a chinese colony.

so peking will let them suffer a bit but help eventually.

thats how ras al ghul-ji saw it before be vanished into the night...

fighting a war against a 10x economy is not a traditional plan
but pak has never been a traditional player and always willing to think out of box solutions
if there is a 10% chance of success they will swing for it
with right tactics and timing and some courage, a jackal may deter a tiger.

we need to prepare for a super-punishing 7 day MMA type cagefight on very short notice. main goal should be to bomb their economy back to stone age rather than air to air heroics and wreckage counting. anything infra bigger than a goatshed

IMO, if India does another strike, there is no need for it to be a response to a terror attack.

Pakistan has had a month now to show progress on fixing their terrorism problem.

We aren't going there for the cake cutting. We are going there to demonstrate our blue water ability, yet again; and of course to improve official contacts, improve seafaring abilities of our crew, publicize our shipbuilding abilities, do friendly port visits along the route etc.

Rumor mill on tweeter indicating PA is setting up for a coup using Indian threat bogey.

Since the first round on 26th, I expected an attack during the election, may be before the snow melts on LoC. This time, the camps would be empty and GoI will be under tremendous pressure to retaliate and short window because of election, with US and ponies stepping in to stop us.

Any delay in GoI response will effect election. I felt it could be towards the election end, when most of the votes would have gone in and results are about to be announce. Any GoI response may not add to BJP's votes and a new government(incumbent or otherwise) not in place, will be very fluid.

But then the recent miss on CRPF indicates it could be earlier. The yahoos may do it themselves, seeing the "PAF victory" on 27 feb

One more attack, IAF should be in air within hours, not days. The "investigation" can be done, once the blows are given.

Why is Qureshi worried when PAF has JF 17 with PL 15 combo, hain ji?. In fact they should send these JF17 with PL 15 in a morale devastating bombing raid to Delhi.

Elections are a distinct disadvantage when confronting stable adversaries like ISI, Pakdef and china. We are the the odd ones out. Atleast Some freedom from oversight is needed by the armed forces, so basic sustaining activities (keeping the lights on type) are not disrupted.

Highly probable. I hope GOI, MOD & the forces have already planned for this and green light already given for immediate retaliation. If there is no retaliation, then we risk falling back to the cycle of attack>Kadi ninda>aman ki asha tamasha.

^^ If even after the jhapads being given after every attack is still causing folks to dhoti shiver and wonder whether GoI under Modi will be in Aman ki Tamasha mode, then even god cannot save this country and change our thinking/self-confidence

X-Posting from the Social Media Thread -
Gentlemen, there have been a lot of excellent posts lately in light of the Pulwama incident and the events that followed.
Why not compile such posts on a blog (either by individual posters, or centrally) for dissemination on other platforms as well as for archival purposes?

SMQ did not say India was planning to attack Pakistan between April 16 and 20, he said "India will stage an incident between April 16 and 20 and then use that pretext for an attack".

which means that he probably has some good intel on something happening between April 16 and 20. It is probably a sign to the TFTAs to not try anything silly which would invite India's retaliation. Its probably aimed at the domestic constituency and to pressurize ISI and TFTAs by taking this info to P5 and making a press conference about it.

Because who can summon Bajwa and give him orders?

^ good point. so wheels must already be in motion on Bajwa/ISI side and 'civilian rulers' got wind of it and trying to head it off.
calls could come from SD/Pentagon to Bajwa, suggesting that spares and services for vaunted F-16 fleet incl from turkiye could be throttled and they can forget about IMF pkg.

but such is the independence and josh of the jihadi tanzeems they will probably just go on and do it. its out of ISI hands if the cells tasked for this are already in india and making final preps.

I think our babus read the tea leaves well too. Hence the curious MEA statement "Pakistan is responsible for terror attack from Pakistan".

It has been made clear to Pakistan that it cannot absolve itself of responsibility of a cross border terrorist attack in India. No attempt at creating an alibi for its complicity in such attacks will succeed

Indeed saar.

I still can't believe an official communique from the govt has this line..

"India reserves the right to respond firmly and decisively to any cross border terrorist attack"

We have moved from 'Reserving our rights to send a sternly worded fax / dossier' to that..

so looks like they want to tar and feather the stool pigeon gori types used by the rogue faction of the gotus.

pakis ofcourse will scream its a bollywood fake even if we truck the solid carcass of a dead F16 to the lawns of south block :) they will say israel loaned us a crashed repainted f solah for show. the one which syrians shot down but it glided back wounded to israel.

this is a play to embarass the rogue faction of the SD imo and might even have pentagon wink wink to it.

And the fire broke out whilst Dimmi was meeting with the US CENTCOM chief, who also met Ghani in Kabul yesterday. I'm guessing Unkil said something PA didn't like, Ghafoora pulled a fire switch.

Why would the PA want to do a coo when everything's on fire? Their economy is a tattered langot, their army want that langot all for themselves.. The hordes of their abduls think their armed farces are invincible and can do no wrong, why upset that wagon?

As per the fine traditions of Napaki Army, they will need a face that can absorb punches publicly and GUBO to them privately.. Also, coo might torpedo their chances with IMF for good..
