Digital artwork. Today’s graphics are so good, that it is hard pressed to determine what is real and what is not.

The digital artist is Kuntal Biswas. He is so gifted that HAL hired him to do some digital artwork for them.

Admiral,

You should stop posting these.

Dumb idiots like me get taken in by the realism and think the Chiefs and MoD decisions have collectively got up on the right side of the bed and inducted these.

Honestly you have dashed a days worth of warm fuzziy feelings!!!

Will the Tejas be part of RDay flypast ? Looks like not even this year ! :(

Does anyone know why? IIRC single engine a/c are said to be avoided. Where Mirages never part of RD flypast ?

They are not going to be flying single engined aircraft, as New Delhi has a massive bird problem. Those slaughterhouses in and around New Delhi are horrendous. If Tejas does a fly by and ingests a bird in the process, the aircraft could potentially crash. And even worse, over Rajpath or somewhere near. People will get burned to a crisp due to the aircraft and the aviation fuel onboard.

This will be a PR disaster for the Tejas program. Best avoided. Put her on a float with the CO of the squadron to do a salute to the President, as it passes by. That is the only thing that can be done.

Cyrano-ji, I stand corrected. I was wrong. See below. I guess it depends from year to year, based on the bird problem.

Lets hope we get a LCA Trainer/Navy float and a Mk1 flypast this year ! Egyptian President is the chief guest at this year's RD parade and I hear we are pitching LCA to them so this goes beyond just making jingos happy. Any other chief guests this year?

I would be good many of the state floats this year move beyond colourful dresses, dances and music (at least for us its charvita charvanam) to show case a good bit of tech & innovation in Mil & non-Mil as well.

The #Tejas positioned at India Pavilion of the #AeroIndia2023 is the last of the FOC fighters to be ferried out to #IAF from #HAL's Aircraft Division. Now, it is the turn of FOC trainers (8) and the first one should be rolled out soon.

https://twitter.com/writetake/status/16 ... wlr4A&s=19

Add on:
* Total of 18 #Tejas trainers will be of one standard. 4 + 4 + 10.
* All these will be produced at HAL's LCA Division.

That is LA-5031 which had her first flight on 27 Mar 2022. I am still waiting on info on the first flight of LA-5032 (which should have already flown by now). LA-5032 is the 32nd and final AF Tejas Mk1. Any info on that?

LCA Trainer LT-5201
https://twitter.com/Indrani1_Roy/status ... 32769?s=20 ---> LCA-Trainer is the most performant trainer in the world today. And the price-point has set a cat among the pigeons! Slight correction: 18 (4+4+10) such trainers will produced over then next year and a half by HAL for the Indian Air Force. May I say it is an absolute looker.

^^^^ Out of the 18 trainers;

Four will go to No 45 Squadron, another four to No 18 Squadron and the last ten to the four Mk1A squadrons (two each + two spares).

Thanks for the post, Admiral. I am a little confused. The the earlier one is in primers while the one inside the plant is painted in IAF colors while. Both have same tail numbers so we should be see in final paint during its first flight itself. Cool! :8

The first few would help resolve niggles in production but hopefully we'll see multiple deliveries in this financial year.

The photo of LT-5201 in the plant, was likely taken after the photo of the rollout (in primer).

The RMAF Air Chief visited India during Aero India 2023. He became Air Chief on 07 March 2022. Assuming this was the first trip he took to India, the picture of the fully painted Tejas trainer (LT-5201) was taken last week.

The aircraft in the picture is LA-5024. I found a clearer picture, so I replaced the image in your post. You can drag & drop image in new window for full size. LA-5024 means No 18 Flying Bullets, the FOC squadron. Very nice. The contingent will do really well.

Love the orange flight suits, standard wear for IAF pilots when they fly over the sea.
