It is going to be a 'business only' meet this time. No 'public days'. The number of exhibitors is really low, so they removed the whole Hall AB. It is going to be a very lackluster affair this year.

Is it coincidence that main banner video/gif has F16 as closure? Instead it should have been MWF?
Why we have so much apathy in being meticulous even for events which have international exposure?

Can someone please point it to "Defence Exhibition Organisation".

^^
it seems they picked it out from some animation or video game. i don't think there is videos of MWF flying. Could have used Tejas.
Maybe the guys tasked with creating the video/gif were themselves unaware. we see this when media houses do something similar regarding defense articles (though people might not give them the benefit of doubt).

HAL to flaunt local aircraft at Aero India in ‘Aatmanirbhar’ formation.

Locally produced aircraft and choppers will form part of the air display at the upcoming Aero India 2021, Asia’s largest air show, with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Friday announcing that its indigenous aircraft will fly in the “Aatmanirbhar formation” at the event, showcasing India’s focus on becoming self-reliant in the defence sector.

The air show will be staged at Yelahanka, outside Bengaluru, from February 3-5.

“HAL will showcase its prowess in defence and aerospace centered on the theme ‘Conceive. Indigenise. Collaborate’,” the state-owned plane maker said in a statement.

The “Aatmanirbhar Formation Flight” in the trainer segment will feature the light combat aircraft (LCA) trainer, Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 (HTT-40) jets, the intermediate jet trainer, advanced Hawk Mk-132 aircraft (Hawk-i) and the Dornier-228 transport plane, the statement said.

More than 600 exhibitors are taking part in the biennial show, including 78 foreign exhibitors. A ₹48,000 crore deal for 83 advanced LCA aircraft for the Indian Air Force could be signed during the air show, officials familiar with the development said.

“Sukhoi 30 MKI, advanced light helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, light combat helicopter (LCH), light utility helicopter (LUH) will also take part in the flying display,” HAL said.

Just watched the DD telecast of the aerobatics and it is frustrating as usual. Constantly cutting away to the crowd as the narrator describes a maneuver, no focus or showing random bits of sky. Why they can never get this right I don't know.

They just don't care, saar. I mean, how hard is it to watch coverage of other airshows from around the world and seek to apply that here? There are tons of such videos on youtube, if anyone's interested.

I have given up on DD ever improving on this aspect, and keep my expectations at the sub-basement level these days. At least I don't get disappointed anymore

DD's coverage the pits as usual. You hear the commentator describing the aerobatics but see the mugshots of stray spectators! Supposed to be only for biz visitors,at 5K a tkt. I couldn't get one tried at the last min. Ttoo late, and would have to have had an AM tag along being his guest, unfair to him, but see the crowd of families of those with connections who as usual throng the show!

There should be a special daily coverage of the show anchored by retd. sr. IAF officers which give in- depth coverage of the exhibitors and their products . Some channel or the other will have a few tit-bits to nibble on.

Nabanita Radhakrishnan - DRDO Director General (R&M and SAM) giving information on LCA MK2, AMCA, Nirbhay and Kaveri Engine.
She explains there is requirement of Manufacturing and Testing & Evaluation capability for Engines in India. DRDO is tying up with Industry in India but Machining and Casting needs to be done abroad and they are hoping to convince the government to set up these facilities here. DRDO will be taking Kaveri engine abroad in future for evaluation on a flying test bed.
She said that when you take up aircraft development work you do not do both together (New Jet and and new Engine). Either you used a Proven engine on an unproven aircraft or vice versa. India is doing both together.

Posted On: 03 FEB 2021 6:27PM by PIB Delhi
Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh released the Export Compendium of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) which consists of defence systems and platforms, which can be exported to friendly countries at Aero-India 2021 on the inaugural day.

A major revision of Design, Development & Production of Military Airborne Stores (DDPMAS) document has also been released. DDPMAS document is followed by the aeronautics fraternity for design, development, production and certification of airborne systems. The new airworthiness framework emphasizes on Atma Nirbhar Bharat for self-reliance, empowering the organisations and industries with liberal certification procedures. The document released by the certification agency CEMILAC would enable Defence PSUs, MSMEs and R&D Establishments to develop and deliver world class products to our Defence Services.

Commemorating the golden jubilee of the Aeronautical Research & Development Board (AR&DB), RM released a Stamp and a book on the journey of AR&DB’s contributions to the field of aeronautics. The book highlights the major achievements of AR&DB since its formation. The AR&DB was constituted by DRDO in 1971 to promote research and take India towards self-reliance in aeronautics.

Raksha Mantri also released a DRDO Monograph “Radiance in Skies – The Tejas Saga” during the function. The monograph authored by Air Marshal P Rajkumar (Retd) and Shri BR Srikanth highlights the interesting journey of DRDO’s Light Combat Aircraft Tejas.

Addressing the scientists, aerospace professionals and industrialists present at the function, Raksha Mantri complimented DRDO for multiple initiatives undertaken to enhance the technological capabilities of the Indian industry and playing a significant role in making the country Atma Nirbhar in the area of defence manufacturing. He said that technologies being developed by DRDO are continuously transferred to industries, making them confident to produce indigenous defence systems. He further said that release of the golden jubilee stamp of ADR&DB shows the long R&D path travelled by DRDO in partnership with Indian academia in the area of aeronautics. He also said that export compendium released today will further enhance the strategic partnership with friendly countries and make India a major player in the global defence market.

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Secretary Department of Defence Research and Development Dr G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary Defence Production Shri Raj Kumar, Dr Tessy Thomas, Director General (Aeronautical Systems) and Chief Postmaster General Ms Sharda Sampath were present at the function, which was presided over by Hon’ble Raksha Mantri.

Aero India, the country’s biennial air show started on 3rd of February, 2021 at Yelahanka Bengaluru. In sync with the Atma Nirbhar Bharat theme of this year’s Aero India, DRDO is participating with more than 300 products, technologies, innovations in the indoor pavilion, outdoor, static and flying displays during the show. More than thirty laboratories of DRDO connected with aeronautical technology development are exhibiting their products and technological achievements in the mega event this year.

havent gone through the last detail but it is quite slick document. Tracking over the years, the quality of document itself has gone up. WHile not important, it does reflect a mindset. Quite often that matters in the minds of noobs and masses.
