What is the status on Kaveri :D

Are we planning a test bed like Mig-29?
Second this. A couple of years ago, Shri Christopher had publikly stated that KAveri would fly this AI (on LCA). Kya hua? Enna aatchi. Was that plan shelved or is it in a slow-burner mode?
There was a quote from the French (A year ago? and probably as a part of the Rafale deal) after they looked at the KAveri design that it was good enough for flight tests- what did that statement mean. Any plans to integrate it with any airframe?

China also has their version of Course Corrected Fuze. (CCF)

IA needs it urgently for shells for 155mm guns and 120 mm mortars.
Good to hear the parallel local effort in building this tech. Yes it will be major boost to the artillery force projection.

I was also thinking, further development of this project could have something similar to laser designation and targetting. The ground forces near the target designate the target using the portable laser pod. Then in pre-firing, the trajectory is already planned using the target lock. And in post-firing phase, the course is corrected in case it isn't accurate enough.

For some folks it appears that RM is not keen on reading between the lines when it comes to biases of forces and MoD babus. How she keeps herself knowledgeable on developments of weapons and platforms. Does she has any special interest in fighter planes?

Can we ask about making jet engine tech a national priority and really pushing it forward? Some updates on Kaveri will also be good, but at the ministerial level one may not have all the details...

Why there is no provision of slapping penalty for delays in production and there should be provision for incentives for advance deliveries.
Why accountability is not fixed in contracts?

I am planning to be there for Aero India 2019 either on 21st or 22nd.

What is the best way to commute from Bangalore to Yelahanka air Force station avoiding traffic ?

Is there any sub-urban train from Bangalore to Yelahanka.

Thank you.

One pilot confirmed dead. Om shanti.

It’s a repeat of a similar incident in 2006, which caused two fatalities. Hope the second pilot makes it.

there is no suburban train from bangalore to yelahanka.

you can't avoid the traffic but you can take the bus.

Best to get into a bus going to the airport. It will be airconditioned.

Request the conductor to drop you off at the air force station yelahanka. Tell him "airshow".

Feb is turning out to be a not so good for armed forces. Hope the two pilots recover quickly.

Realize it is insensitive to ask this question, but will SKAT perform during this air show with this incident?

I personally think that Aero India show must be postponed. How can we show the world that we as a nation are enjoying a military event/show and at the same time expressing grief and anger.

Rest in peace brave heart! I think the show must go on, aerobatics is inherently very risky. We must show our resilience, a crash or a terrorist activity should not deter us from doing our regular work. I wish the show starts with a missing man formation in homage to all the martyrs we lost in the last 20-30 days.

the show is not for anyone's enjoyment, saar.

It is for business, business promotion, scouting for new opportunities, networking and showcasing innovative products or their development thereof.

All visuals are incidental to this central theme.

This is amazing news for ALH in IN and ICG service. Now if only they could get the full power handling gearbox in place!!

In an interview with Tarmak talks, the rotary div director Arup Chatterji mentioned about two new projects fkr navalisation of Helis - Folding Rotors - he mentioned rotors will fir in 2.7m space, not clear what that means exactly (guess he meant width wise), and other is folding tail boom. Great to see concept already realised.

I hope both initiatives work out ok.

Another interesting this from the interviews - ALH and LCH (and presumably LUH too) have the tail designed in such a way that at even if tail rotors fails, the heli doesnt loose control and the pilot can fly it to safety. According to the HAL GP Unii Pillai, very few Helis in the world has this feature designed in them.
