Do they need to win exactly half or half+1 to form a government ?

Do agree!

BJP Govt. in Delhi should run for the next 6 months giving good governance with its 34 MLAs. I don't think AAP would let it fall before the elections 2014, cuz then the Delhi voters would be extremely mad at AAP.

After 2014, BJP can split AAP or Congress, or just not let their MLAs listen to their party whips.

Nope. (LG)Governor will call largest party to form government. They have to form majority on floor, in some ways UPA also is not in majority

time to switch to India vs SA match..
These news channels will now discuss there is no modi wave, AAP is the savior for mango man rather than focusing on tremendous result in Rajashtan(record 80% seats for BJP) & the fact that two CMs(MP & CG) beats the anti-incumbency factor

Actually CONGis might support AAP. There are already murmurs in SM and Rahul may come out with that policy

A little late, nevertheless good last minute moves by BhaJpa in Dilli.. Otherwise they would have been routed.

I am assuming Vijay Goel did not go Paki after Dr. Harshavardhan was declared CM candidate. If this assumption is true all credit to Vijay Goel and the folks who convinced him to take a back seat.

Have a different take on it.

The Modi future wave keeps these revolts under control. Unfortunately, that is the truth in India. Power makes us all weak. No Principles.

If BJP was in power, Yeddi would have not revolted. The revolts in CONGis may escalate now and I wonder the fate of Telengana bill

not technically, PV Narasimha rao's was a minority govt.

All it needs that is that confidence motions are won and no confidence motions are defeated among the voting members.

Actually this is perhaps good result in DL. If there was no modi bjp would have been deserted. Same in CG. By this result everyone in bjp top leadership and lower leadership will accept NM as messiha and will tow the line. Also if AAP got 10-12 seats they would have become king maker. Now they are neither king nor king maker. They have to join cong to form the govt. They can't do that before 2014. Cong's thorough routing is a bonus. Now delhites would feel guilty (i hope so) for voting hung govt. They would not want to make the same mistake in GE. All looks very good IMO.

AP CM is already in revolt. T bill may voted against in AP assembly. Earlier efforts to manage MLAs will now fail as the mafia losing in 2014 now certain. Even Jagan and TRS may want friendship of Modi.

Haryana CM stopped display of mafia family.

It already started.

Just wondering what would have happened if NM would not have been declared as PM candidate in Sept..and they had waited for results of these elections.

Pity Delhi Cantt went to AAP.

In Chhattisgarh one winning candidate is the independent Dr. Viman Chopra from Mahasamund. He is a physician. Perhaps another MLA who can support the BJP govt there.

Another independent candidate fighting from same constituency had his name registered as "Human Banjare"! :D

the motions come after govt is formed. once a govt is formed, it usually finds ways to win motions - the major exception being the 13 day vajpayee govt.

AFAIK, the governor (Lt.Gov in delhi's case) is precedence bound to call in the single largest party to form the govt by showing they have majority.

Najeeb Jung is the governor of delhi? can't find much info in his wiki to say for sure, but if he is a conparty stooge, he can invite bjp to form govt with a set time limit to show majority and meanwhile if aap and conparty announce post-poll alliance, then he can invite aap to form govt. it is possible.

unless a faction breaks away from aap and declares support to bjp. the faction cannot join bjp formally due to anti-defection laws.

OR

the governor can go entirely paki and invite aap first if aap and inc declare alliance today or tmrw. this would be against precedence.

Come to think of it AAP can give a major boost to Leftist forces who want to push DIEnasty under the carpet to STOP Modi a great momentum.

Long term it may be good to destroy DIEnasty but in short term can affect Modi in urban areas. May be difficult to replicate nationally but can build momentum to affect in 10-20 urban areas.

Modi has to take this into affect. My idea "Citizen's Govt"

1. BJP announces a Primary system in 20-30 seats where BJP people elect who they want their MP candidate. Build a huge momentum in areas like WB,AP,Kerala,Orissa. Announce that if this succeeds, they will make this a constitutional system.

2. Announce similar reforms such as Direct elections to Water commissioner,Police Commissioner etc in Delhi who will report to CM. Even that will be Primary system.

Please post any such ideas. Lets consolidate and post it in Modi's web site

IMO, BJP shouldn't form mainority gubmint which will forever be at rug-pulling mercy of the secularisti....

Better to let kerji form the gubmint and show how its done... :) Else, re-poll is fine too. A straight fight between BJP and pAAP this time.

My concern now is that we can prolly write off some 2-3 (at least) of Delhi's 7 LS seats as well... :((

So AAP changed discourse from anti incumbency to usual pseudo secularism.

How important is dilli again wrt nationalist perspective and therefore such change in discourse and changing goalposts by pseudo seculars.
