Instead a BJP forwards caste+chota nagpuris + OBC(Modi factor) will defeat all other combinations.

It is all about polarize your vote and bring to booths as far as JHK is concerned.

The people you are calling "chota nagpuris" are not tribals. These people are mostly Biharis and small percentage from all over. Tribals are only 28% of the population, the rest 72% population is non-tribal. Yes the tribal people ( mainly santhals, munda, Oraon, and few smaller ones) will vote for JMM which is a tribal party, non-tribal vote is split among the rest.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think Chota nagapuri is term of a region/plateaue called "chat nagapuri" which is mostly in Jharkhand but extends to Orissa and Bengal. Among the total tribal population santhals are 35% and largest of all. JMM, INC are dominant of these tribes. There are always competitive fissures between Santhals and rest. The underlying fissures led to the BJP sticking with not-santhal Tribal leadership though keeping rest of the tribes is better than competing from the santhals. For Santhals, JMM and congress are main parties along with Babulal Marandi's JVM. Forward caste + Urban classes + non-santhal tribal classes should be a winning combination with Modi factor(OBC votes also a factor).

You are more or less right.

Chota Nagpur was a division of undivided Bihar, comprising mainly of Chota Nagpur plateau, what is now is Jharkhand. Tribal population does extend into neighboring part of Orissa, Chhattishgarh and Bengal. The original demand was for Greater Jharkhand which would have included these neighboring tribal areas.

The damage has been done but needs to be hammered home.

Austerity dumped: Arvind Kejriwal to move into 10-bedroom house, all cabinet colleagues get govt cars
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) takes a khaas route. All the six AAP ministers took government vehicles to reach to the Delhi assembly on Friday. Also, the chief minister of Delhi instead of shifting to a government hostel as announced earlier is now moving into a ten-bedroom government accommodation.

The flip-flop will only emphasize the posturing is based on public opinion and not on any moralistic ideals. An attempt to game the public opinion just like the other political parties.

S Murlidharan makes some interesting arguments about the AAP in FP, specifically targeting their holier than though mindset and unwillingness to brook opposition:
Why the young shouldn’t be misled by AAP’s antics
Dave Keller, an American writer, said “He who isn’t a socialist at 19 has no heart and he who is still a socialist at 30 has no brain.” What we are now witnessing in India, the upsurge in support for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is perhaps the vindication of the first part of one of the most quotable quotes of recent times.

AAP may be beckoning the youth more but one may wonder if all of them are socialists? Well, the rubbishing of accoutrements of power, the disdain for formality and protocol, and the almost irreverential attitude to institutions and norms perceived to be a stranglehold on socialistic passion all seem to have been the real pull, the gravitating force for the young and the restless. And all these are also trappings of a politburo run party that brooks no dissent much less resistance. AAP has often proved by its utterances and actions that those who are not with it are against it and must be fulminated upon --- my way or highway attitude.

That it chose to announce free water upto 20,000 liters without applying its mind as to whether its core constituency, the poor, would benefit by it is of a piece with its pigheadedness. It should have first addressed the issue of pipeline to shanties before announcing free water. AAP has no answer to this putting the cart before the horse initiative. Its representative Raghav Chadda looked sheepish on a television channel and blamed it on the previous government for not laying pipeline all these years. Of a piece with the same tendency to play to the gallery and ignore realities is the 50 percent subsidy for power for households consuming up to 400 units a month. It is one thing to smell a fish in discoms’ accounts but to burden the taxpayer on the basis of an obsessive suspicion is quite another.

The young and the restless seem to be taken in by the AAP’s antics. But brash decisions cannot be mistaken for decisiveness, a trait which AAP does not want Modi alone to possess. What Modi perhaps would have done in Delhi is to lay the pipelines first before announcing free water. He would have also found out that the main culprit on the power front is Delhi’s dependence on power purchased from other states. With as much as 70 percent of the power price in Delhi being the purchase price, there is hardly any headroom for granting a heavy subsidy much less 50%. Modi would have thought it prudent to put up more power plants so that Delhi was not constrained to pay more for purchased power. Modi would not say no to nuclear power which AAP seems to be saying if the hearty welcome given to the anti-nuclear power activist Udhay Kumar is any indication.

AAP’s recklessness on the power and water front is obviously finding resonance even among Congressmen with demands for similar initiative surfacing in the Congress-NCP ruled Maharashtra. The contagion is likely to spread sooner than later to other states as well with frightening consequences that most certainly would have a debilitating effect on country’s finances, throwing the combined fiscal deficit of the states and center to catastrophic levels.

The second part of Dave Keller’s observation that at 30 if you are still a socialist you have no brain unfortunately would not appeal to a vast segment of the populace, the beneficiaries of populism. Which is why proffering of prudent advice against impudent financial practices is looked with contempt by the vested interests. In fact many of them may know in their hearts that huge fiscal deficit is not sustainable even in the short run but might nevertheless condone it on selfish and self-serving grounds.

Singha-ji,
Captain Gopinath contested even last time and lost his deposit. Among other things, the charmer was canvassing for votes on the strength of his being a Brahmin (Bangalore South has a large number of Brahmins). He is a joker and is hardly taken seriously by anyone. I really hope he contests. He will lose his deposit again.

The poor mostly were sold on the idea of free power and water. Of the two water promise is the most difficult to fulfill for the poor as it depends the availability of pipeline. Am not aware of the ground realities in Delhi but my guess would be that most shanties and unauthorized colonies will not have metered piped water to the door steps of the poor. The announcement of reduction was on metered connections which will most certainly not benefit the poor. This is in fact a scheme to subsidize the rich at the cost of poor.

All the BJP needs to do is go door to door in these areas after 2 weeks and ask if the promised free water has been delivered.

IMHO, whole AAP drama currently unfolding and totally ridiculous handling and functioning of AAP and shri flipflopwal in Delhi, shows that he has a rather strong "Tughlaq" strain. I am half expecting him to issue his own "aam admi currency" to pay for the freebies. In a way i guess he is providing a much needed passage of transformation for what used to be congi voters, who find it hard to vote for BJP directly and are being lead up the garden path by flpflopwal and will get the kick needed for them to get over years of anti-bjp bias fed through MSM and NGO cottage industry.

Kejriwal's waterfront

One of the most intriguing features of the AAP's policy on water (and electricity) is their pro-rich stance. How did this happen? As the table shows, the water policy goes significantly against the poor and the lower middle class. One of the most stylised facts about development, incomes and poverty is that larger family households are poorer. As the table shows, households with a family size greater than or equal to five members have average expenditure levels (NSSO 2011-12 data for Delhi households) only twice the poverty line. These households will pay for all the water consumed because their usage is higher on a per household basis. In contrast, those who need water less and can afford to pay more (with per capita expenditures almost four times the poverty line), will receive water free. The poor will pay Rs 663 crore to the AAP's water board; the rich will receive Rs 333 crore from the AAP as subsidy. What Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP's water policy illustrates is a perfect inversion of Robin Hood — something corrupt in-the-name-of-the-poor Indian governments have attempted but not succeeded at so perfectly. I challenge anyone to imagine, let alone formulate, a more anti-poor and anti-lower-middle class policy. Phrased differently, can anyone formulate a more pro-rich policy? :rotfl:

Some clues about future AAP policy and prospects are revealed by the identification of AAP supporters: dominantly left-of-centre, disillusioned Congress supporters. Both anecdotal conversations and empirical data support this conclusion. Fully 40 per cent of Congress 2008 voters voted for the AAP in 2013; the corresponding number for the BJP was only 9 per cent.

Saar - all this reminds me of the man, his son and donkey story that came in Chandamana long ago. The man, his son and the donkey were going to the market in the nearby town. First the boy was riding the donkey, some people jeered that the young boy was making his dad walk while he rode, so the boy dismounted, and the man started riding the donkey. Then others mocked him that the man was making a young boy run behind him, so the man got down and both started walking alongside the donkey. Then others made fun of them for not making use of the donkey, which could easily carry them, so both got on the donkey. This outraged yet others who shouted at them for torturing a poor beast with such a heavy load. So, the man and boy started carrying the donkey. Except the donkey was not used to being carried, so it struggled, fell into a stream, and was lost.

Moral of the story: When we elect those with no convictions, nor principles, and those who can be easily persuaded to do whatever the others want, it is we, the citizens, who will suffer the fate of the donkey.

Ab batti ko bhi le lo AK-47 ji.

AK 47 ji, you took votes from 23 lac people but decided to take congress support with just 7 lac SMS. What about the rest.

Also what happened to the 2000 cameras and the "Evidence of wine distribution". AAP has the evidence in its cameras, Delhi Police is run by Congress. Both are now together but still no police karyavahi. Strange.

I m asking AAP...Have u all heard of a man called Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi .... he once came to tamilnadu for a rally... there he saw people with bare body(without shirts) and he got disheartened and took a vow to not to wear shirt till all these people wears shirts..... gandhi kept his vow till his death...
Gandhi said: "If a true Indian man cannot afford a shirt and does not wear one, and if I have to represent them, I have to be and feel like one". After saying this he removed and threw his shirt to the ground, never to wear it again. “Therefore, from today onwards I am not going to wear shirts.”

Here are the people who say they represent Aam admi... fought elections to represent aam admi and got into the office...... now they accept 5bhk flats... which aam adhmi has 5 bhk flat?????
why was that stunt show on the first day travelling on metro and autorickshaw.... like all other politicians???
had they thought of allotting houses to homeless people living beneath flyovers in delhi?????
AAP has betrayed its volunteers, supporters like me.... i feel sorry for all AAP volunteers who have quit their jobs and worked as full time volunteers in AAP........ I regret myself my AAP membership.....
AAP's downfall is as apparent as their raise....

Even though Kejriwal has made a grand statement of "giving up" his two 5BHK flats which the media will trumpet and project as being equaled only by SG sacrificing the PMship for MMS he still wants 2 flats, one as a residence and hold your breath one as a home office. It is obvious that someone who hasn't done a single day of honest labour as an IRS officer, what with taking "study leaves" and special PM approved leave and has run only NGO's this guy doesn't have it in him to go to office and put in 8 honest hours at taking care of files and issues. Hence the home office. Somebody please ask him if he is some Mughal-e-azam that senior officers need to go to his home to get things done and he will never be available in the secretariat. Yes, senior officers have gone to politicians homes earlier also but mostly for emergencies. AK47 seeks to make this the norm. The last work from home politicians were the mughal rulers of Delhi. Somebody please point a mirror at him and ask if that's the sign of an aam admi.

he will mostly not do any office work, instead hobnob with his party buddies to run the LS & media campaign.
he will have to tour the nation to address rallies wherever they are contesting the LS - this time he can sign his own study leave letter.

Many APites may not like this but Kejriwal is looking more like NTR of 1983 win in AP. The same nautanki everyday those days too. Only thing is that it was still AIR days and TV was just emerging. Not BRF or Twitter to decipher things like this and so fast.

Few things that NTR did on exact lines.
(1) Before election on his rath (he is is first to introduce rath for elections and also cutouts for election campaign) he announce Rs2 for kilo of rice for everyone in the state. When he actually won the election, he said it is only for poor. The definition of poor and identification of poor led to tonne of corruption. It evolved into what they called as "Yellow ration cards". Whenever there is less money, there used to be drives to cut down these cards. Another avalanche of corruption
(2) India increases Petrol by one rupee. He announces in a public meeting that from tomorrow AP will reduce it by one rupee in AP. He does that via a show off on the stage. He talks to cabinet secretary and then announces. Later announcement is for certain classes of scooter drivers only and on some card for getting the rupee less. :)
(3) Electricity for everyone in villages. Free pump sets and what not. AP state has first massive power shedding in his regime started.

NTR was all filmy-style junk day-in and day-out. He was very popular and hence he won several times. His second term was marred by RBI advertising to stop honoring checks from AP government as it is hugely bankrupt due to Rs2 rice in 1996 (that is after a huge devaluation of rupee) and also banning liquor at the same time. Less tax collection+massive spending was his second term start. Then came the CBN and he used reforms, governance mantra to first dismantle all he and his father-in-law invented to win votes. It is in a sense a U-turn forced by RBI and finance ministry as things were too bad to absorb.

Mr.Kujliwal is exactly in the same path as NTR was. Old win in new bottle as they say.

Arvind Kejriwal was a sleeper. He stayed quiet all these years until Sonia activated him to deflect all the heat from the anti corruption movement. He then dented the BJP prospects in Delhi and preserved a lot of corruption emanating from the capital. After PM speech, announces that he is sitting out of LS elections to give Rahul a chance. Truly a snake.

This business of conducting surveys is designed to make AAPistas (to rhyme with their leftist sandanista brethen) feel intellectually superior that they were convinced by a pseudo scientific hokum science which produced the pre decided result that "kejriwal's shirt is the most white because it is washed with anti corruption detergent powder". The arrogant AAPistas fall over themselves then to vote for Farziwal. Further emotional/psychological committment is sought by making them contribute 1000-2000 rupees thereby making it difficult also for the AAPistas to switch sides fast. Hence the cognitive dissonance from the AAPistas and their resultant Animal Farm like behaviour.

True but basically it is a plain and simple street trick to dazzle the hoi polloi using fancy terms like "direct democracy". Tomorrow the charlatan can get a private helicopter using this trick, simply by "going to the people" (all 1 lakh of them) and asking what to do since he gave up lal batti and now gets stuck in traffic on way to important work. After all, it is all for the good of the people. He has already warned "the people" that it will be their fault if he becomes "ineffective" due to not having an adjoining flat for a home office so they should support it.

AAP has put up its donations list online. Totals (Rs 5 crore so far) are broken up by country, and a daily total is published. Even contributors' names are published. Must be a first. http://www.aamaadmiparty.org/donation-list

^^ Big deal. Making a mountainous virtue out of a molehil.

See the URL below http://myneta.info/party/index.php?action=all_donors&id=3

Of course you will now come back that AAP is first and puts a clean list and all that. First of all

1. AAP is a small political outfit in a "Delhi Municipality masquerading as a state"

2. AAP if it is oh-so-clean can come out with various fundings of the NGOwallahs.

The donation list link of AAP is another gimmick

People must pay the price for the choices they make no matter how much cruel they are.

I had said this before there is nothing BJP can do which will convince people of their mistake than a full 5 yr. term of that moron. I am very happy that shrewd political minds are taking decisions for BJP (credit to Modi and his teammates) let the people of Delhi suffer for 5 yrs. and then BJP can deliver a death blow to PAAP.

It's nice to see that BRFites are having less loose motions with each passing day regarding PAAP.
