Praveen patil put things in perspective. Says, INC capturing a coupla dozen booths out of the 1500 odd in Amethi can only do so much. If RG's margin is <50k, only then can it be said that rigging helped.

But then we do not know how many booths were rigged, no?

P.S.
Does this show that the EVMs cannot be tampered with/hacked into remotely then? That's a HUGE reprieve if true.

Hari S ji, that is wrong conclusion!! the evm can be remotely hacked will not be knwn to lowly cadre. he is going and capturing it. the remote evm thing, if true, will be in the hands of less than 10 people, mostly from see eye variety. One big reason for this staggered schedule could be that this small group can do its work!!

That photo, above, if circulated, will dilute the evidence of actual violation....they will show this as pure rumour mongering...this is a case of being well intentioned fools trying to get at Election Commission by clutching at the wrong straws. The evidence that Smriti gathered in the morning is the right kind to nail them!

The last time Amethi went so close for La Familia was when Rajiv was opposed by Raj Mohan Gandhi as a candidate for VP Singh, Rajiv made it in the end, but after a recount and by some 7000 votes or so IIRC....this one looks like going to the wire as well.

Can anyone familiar with Varanasi tell us whether this is what the original plan was or are these changed locations from the original plan?

Edit : From Google maps I can see that Benia Bagh is in the city, less than 1 KM from the banks of the Ganga while Rohania is outside the city in the rural area.

If he does win and goes on to become PM he should make it a point to return to Varanasi and do the Aarthi for Ganga Ma! Can you imagine the significance of that act....I am sure, he as a keen student of history and Vivekananda may consider this!

What I heard did not sound objectionable or wrong choice of word. But will sure cross check with repeat telecast. Damn these channels make you memorise each sound byte if you watch them enough.

More interesting is that Modi will drive from the helipad to BJP election office and back. What if 1 lakh+ BJP workers turn up along the route to greet him?

Will Modi turn his visit into a road show in defiance of the local administration? What happens if the admin impose sec 144 in response? What happens if the locals defy sec 144 and assemble in response? What happens if the admin suspecting as much bans Modi's Varanasi visit hanji?
