Re: The Cricket Thread

Re: The Cricket Thread

Re: The Cricket Thread
186/0 even with worlds best offspinner, worlds best medium pace attack and worlds best fielding.

Re: The Cricket Thread
marauding!
Re: The Cricket Thread
swann got taken for another 10 in last over. 197/0
Re: The Cricket Thread
200 up. batters going their merry way...both the angrez commentators on star cricket sounding distinctly glum now.
Re: The Cricket Thread
and australia lost the ashes to them?
Re: The Cricket Thread
..and we tied! you are right..let us begin the langoti quiver.
Re: The Cricket Thread
england looks more insipid than 3 day old soda on my desk. my friend wants pukis to in in mohali. i wanted to reach over through the phone to make my point why not. his reasoning is that since puki president is coming it will be a good gesture to lose. i almost fcuking barfed.

already started here.Singha wrote:186/0 even with worlds best offspinner, worlds best medium pace attack and worlds best fielding.

says Tom Hopkins. "England have had a gruelling schedule, lost half a team through a variety of unfortunate circumstances and yet have performed admirably (if inconsistently) and are about to lose to a very strong team on their home turf. Back in November, if you'd have offered me a 1-0 win in The Ashes and a first round exit in the World Cup I'd have bitten your hand off. England haven't failed, they've overperformed." Aye. No man-love has been lost today. They're a thoroughly admirable bunch, and it's nice that they can go out of the World Cup without any of the juvenile nonsense we see every time England exit a major football tournament
Re: The Cricket Thread
what is this with angrez commentators always talking about a bowler bowling with a very big heart. Whenever they are touring sub continent and results not going their way, they will pick a bowler and say oh this guy bowled with a very big heart.. was unlucky not find edges ..blah blah. it seems angrez carry a big portable heart when they are touring this part of the world
Re: The Cricket Thread
batman and robin (sanga and mahela) looking composed and relaxed in dressing room gotham streets are being cleaned up.

English cricketing establishment (media, former players etc) is obsessed with H&D. Typical modus operandi when licking their wounds after such a mauling is to deify the opposition rather than accept how pathetic they are. Expect articles comparing Dilshan to Viv Richards and Tharanga to Sobers.
Most of the time the English media is either talking up their mediocre players, or trying to make excuses for them.
If KP was there, things would have been worse off for them, its because his overrated ass was kicked back to England that fellow foreigner Eoin Morgan got to join the squad and he has been the one taking them to fighting totals every time.
If Broad and Anderson were playing the SL innings would have been over by now. Still for no loss

Re: The Cricket Thread
esp Anderson lol. would have to phone Taity or Symo for his psychiatrists number
Re: The Cricket Thread
Actually these two openers have already added up 700 odd runs in this cup.
Re: The Cricket Thread
and I believe tharanga and sanga are also in top 10 in this WC. their batting is front-loaded. their big guns have to fire.
Re: The Cricket Thread
OT to Cricket but very much on topic about England:
Check out this hype generated before the Eng-Germany WC game

The 3 English Lions shown in the first pic look magnificent, but after looking carefully they appear to be lionesses.
And to top it all off, Germany pulverized them 4-1.

But even the compulsory post-match conferences are not being adhered to. During Australia's past two losses the opposing captains, Dhoni and Pakistan's Shahid Afridi, both played undisciplined shots to get out cheaply during the chase. There was no chance to question them on it, as India relied on man of the match Yuvraj Singh and Pakistan sent coach Waqar Younis - seemingly without censure by the ICC.
Conversely, Australia captain Ricky Ponting and the rest of his international counterparts have consistently held their appointments whether the circumstances were good or bad. Using Dhoni and Afridi's example, Ponting would not have bothered to explain his spat with Steve Smith. But he did. And rightly so.
Re: The Cricket Thread
if Ind and SL make it to the finals it will not be this easy for SL. fits one thing to rape the 'world's best' bowlers in the safe confines of home and its a different thing to face Ind in a final in front of a mumbai crowd baying for their blood.
Re: The Cricket Thread
they will appreciate it much more if we butcher a few innocent Indians on the streets for their entertainment.ManjaM wrote:england looks more insipid than 3 day old soda on my desk. my friend wants pukis to in in mohali. i wanted to reach over through the phone to make my point why not. his reasoning is that since puki president is coming it will be a good gesture to lose. i almost fcuking barfed.
Re: The Cricket Thread
hehe...Dilshan sent the 'world's best' to the boundary even when not wanting to!
Re: The Cricket Thread
relax taranga, relax.
that dilshan front foot defend was the shot of the game.
dilshan is quite the show man isnt he?

So much for Teutonic pride: Three lions, symbol of England, stroll beside the vehicle taking the German team on what was supposed to be a get-away-from-it-all safari

Re: The Cricket Thread
England shown their place in the world cup by SL. Who was it taking about the need for Bhajji to take lessons from Swann?
Is there a formal brf pecking order in terms preference with respect to non Indian teams? On this same forums, we have derided the attitude Sanga and co.

Re: The Cricket Thread
is there a video of the big fight during nz-sa match. willow tv has removed it from their replays and i cant find it on youtube either.
Re: The Cricket Thread
the semi final against NZ is on tuesday on this same ground. SL would be favoured to win that one...
Re: The Cricket Thread
Only team other then TI, i will support is WI.
Re: The Cricket Thread
It's England's fifth 10-wicket defeat in ODIs, their third against Sri Lanka, and was a proper humping. This is the highest total chased without a single wicket lost in a World Cup match
