let's keep in mind that KCR's majority is wafer thin. he has MIM for now. Chandrabhan ji has been saying that INC is headed for a split. time for Modi/Shah, and BJP to assimilate INC in Telangana. and also start poaching from TDP. in the next elections, BJP should be the only and genuine opposition to TRS+MIM.

T-TDP needs to merge with BJP. and T-INC can also be stripped of all the important people, and only a rump (namesake) left behind.

this is the only strategy, IMO. as such, KCR will pay for his arrogance. I predict that TRS won't get more than 30 seats whenever the next elections happen.

Naidu must be happy right now.

Why do you think it is a threat and "colonization" if Indian citizens relocate to any part of India to live and work and invest and set down roots? I don't understand this at all.

Yep. He was in BJP for sometime. Not sure if it was before or after Prajarajyam. He came out of Praja Rajyam early on itself after having bitter fight with Allu Aravind. During the T-agitation in last few years, he is a prominent figure in Visalandhra Mahasabha and a strong proponent of Samaikyandhra. He was also a member of task force to help formulate India's 10th five year plan. Although educated in marxist institutes like getting M.Phil from JNU, Delhi and PHD from London school of economics, dude is not a marxist variety.

On a lighter note this is the cabinet minister helping her sis-inlaw in preparing Avakaya (mango pickle).

What is it with TRS and Bandhs. What is the point of a Bandh if government itself calls for a Bandh. Even though KCR has not sworn in , he is already the defacto CM. This just affects Hyderabad's business image

Kaya means a fruit which is not fully ripe. Like a mange which is still green. For those in Delhi, go to hotel Southern at Karol bagh and try you luck to eat Avakaya.

Thanks Narayan. Mango pickles are made at our side too using raw mangoes sourced from village or from mandi, though not as spiced as Andhra ones. Local mango trees have now vanished, as tradition of planting mango/ fruit/Peepal Tree by oldies has vanished now.

Very pleased to hear that president has signed and passed the ordinance on Polavaram. At last something to cheer about for people of AP after the dreadful one sided division. I hope Modi Govt implement the project also with the same sincerity and expeditiousness.

I also hope that CBN is not carried away by the boastful statements of building a capital city that beats Hyderabad or Delhi. It is pure waste of money, considering how inefficient such investments would be in terms of generating employment and revenue. It may be helpful in making a statement to KCR but beyond that it is utter useless. Let each city grow based on its natural potential. This approach will be far more productive and less costly, considering the state has huge deficit and debt.

I hope Modi govt doesn't encourage such lavish spending, and instead teach some pragmatism to the new state govt.

For a start AP should try to make the most of the special status (hopefully it will be for 10 years) and lure businesses and investors from Hyd and elsewhere and make the approval processes smooth and quick. Lands acquired in various scams by YSR (vanpic etc.) could be put to good use by allocating them to employment generating industries.

It's amazing to see the reactions and sentiments on the ground level. AP folk are full of hope and focused on getting on after suffering insults and humiliation along with loss of opportunity. There's no talk of retribution or getting even. Good thing CBN is keeping the focus on the right issues at the political level.

It can't continue to be Andhra Pradesh. May be residual AP. New geographical entity needs a new name. Seemandhra seems apt as a place holder until a new name is decided.

If one is keen on re-union, then one can name it as East AP similar to West Bengal. As long as 'West' is part of West Bengal people will know that there was an east Bengal also. It keeps the door open for re-union. Similarly, one can name AP as East-AP if one is keen on re-union.

Seemandhra is the worst term and is a culprit for the division. This silly term was coined by joining Kostha-Andhra and Rayala-Seema. One of the important things is to remember that all Thelugus are Andhras regardless of whether it is Thelangana, Kostha or Rayalaseema.

KCR keeps telling made up stories about Raamayana to heap satire on Kostha people. But, if he read the real Vaalmiki Raamayana, then he would find that Sugriva mentions Andhra people. Andhras are all Thelugus. All Thelugus are Andhras. Thelugu is the language of Andhras. Thelugu Thalli is applicable to all Andhras/Thelugus. There is no need for Thelangana Thalli.

TRS' veneration of Nizaam are also interesting. TDP or BJP should be able to raise these issues. How can anyone who claims to be fighting for people of Thelangana venerate Nizaam? If Modi were to be in CBN position, he would have politically buried KCR on only this single issue: veneration of Nizaam. The same one who sent Razaqers to kill people.

The new logo of T, finalized as per Owaisi khandhan specs.
The offer came at a meeting held by Majlis leaders with Mr. Rao here on Thursday. “We are not interested in occupying posts of power. Our dream is to see Telangana become one of the best performing States,” Majlis president Asaduddin Owaisi told the TRS chief. There is, however, talk of his younger sibling Akbaruddin Owaisi being offered the Deputy Chief Minister post.

During the hour-long meeting, Mr. Owaisi insisted that Hyderabad’s famous icon Charminar be reflected in the new logo of Telangana State.

The hoary monument was a symbol of ‘Ganga-Jamuni’ culture of Hyderabad and should become the identity of Telangana, Mr. Owaisi said.Mr. Rao promised to accommodate Charminar in the logo of the new State.

Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport could be renamed after former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N T Rama Rao with two senior ministers of the Narendra Modi government justifying the demand on Thursday.

The Ordinance transfers 136 villages, the ordinance will also lead transfer of 211 hamlets and seven mandals of Khammam district to the successor state of Andhra Pradesh.

AFAIK this transfer ensures that all the to-be-submerged regions will go into AP so there won't be any need to have a AP-Telangana debate over this project. Without this AP will have to get TG approval for this project.

On a side note, all the agri-lands associated with Bhadrachalam Sri Rama temple will fall in AP with this move while the temple will remain in TG.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polavaram_ ... troversies
The proposed project would displace 276 villages and 44,574 families spread across three districts of Andhra Pradesh. Tribals constitute 50% of such a displaced population.[16] Human rights activists came out against the project because of these reasons. In addition, one activist pointed out that this interlinking of the rivers will harm the interests of the Telangana region of the state.[17] Environmental activist Medha Patkar said that the project not only will displace several thousands of families, it will also submerge several archaeological sites, coal deposits, a wildlife sanctuary and several hectares of farm land.

WTF is Charminar doing in the center of Telangana logo and including Urdu ? Looks like Semi-Nizam logo to me . Say in Future if BJP or BJP-TDP comes in power in Telangana, can they change it or is this logo permanent ? What a shame

BTW Charminar is pre-Ganga Jamuna culture as it was built by Qutb Shahs who were betrayed (Mir Jumla) and destroyed by Ganga Jamuna culture. Abul Tanesha was last Qutb Shah who was captured and made prisoner by Aurangzeb who is from Ganga Jamuna culture.
