Central Government Approves Rs. 1,500 Crore by way of Budgetary Support to Andhra Pradesh for its New Capital - PIB.NIC.IN
In consonance with Section 94(3) of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014, the Government of India has agreed to provide Special Financial Support for essential facilities for the new Capital of Andhra Pradesh including construction of Raj Bhavan, State Secretariat, State Assembly and High Court etc.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Finance, Government of India has approved Rs. 1500 crore by way of Budgetary Support for providing support to new Capital of Andhra Pradesh. This would include Rs. 1000 crore for support to essential amenities for the new Capital of Andhra Pradesh for which necessary approval has been given to Ministry of Urban Development.

Another Rs. 500 crore has been approved which would be spent exclusively for construction of Raj Bhavan, State Secretariat, State Assembly and High Court etc. in the new Capital of Andhra Pradesh.

A letter of approval has also been sent by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India to the Union Ministry of Urban Development in this regard.
- IMO, this will be the central commitment (funds) to new AP state capital.
- NaMo govt will expatiate any administrative clearances of master plan that is presented by Singapore consultancy and there will no fund dole outs for this process.
- Once all approvals are in hand, NaMo govt will fund Polavaram project.

We do not know that sir. NM needs AP TDP MPs to get the bills passed and also BJP wants to kill Con Mafia fully in AP. Best way to do so is to give something to AP and seen as helping the state. So some funding or another will be given from time to time. May be not as much as the idiot CBN wants, but something will be there from time to time.

The way Evangelism is going on, Dharmic prospects in AP are precariously balanced. CBN is doing zilch in stopping aggressive proselytizing or reversing Evangelism or strengthening Hindus in AP. He is giving generous funds to Christian Bhavans and other minority schemes, but taxing Hindu Temples more.

CBN is megalomaniac battle commander who cares about winning his battle, without bothering bigger picture of war. There is a cat-mouse game going between CBN and BJP.

I do hope BJP will become the Big Cat of AP and CBN marches into history. CBN always has a problem of seeing the bigger picture and always on the short time gain side. He is proving to be a curse on AP people.

Yagnasri garu,

What big picture does AP/TS BJP Org. bring to the table? :rotfl:

The biggest fools are found in BJP/ABVP orgs in TS and AP.

It is really rich blaming CBN when the real leadership crisis is in BJP, RSS and affiliated orgs in AP/TS.

People who are cursing CBN don't know nothing about AP. I am not a fan of him. But give me an alternative to him. Don't say BJP ? lol Any one who knows anything about AP/T BJP on the ground will laugh at that suggestion. One factor which is working for CBN is TINA factor. The only person who is an alternate for him is that EJ Jagan who is even worse.

I totally agree with Rony garu. Wishes can be horses but wishing a non-existent thing makes no sense and we all can wish BJP in AP once a trickle traction starts. At this time the state is have no alternatives. The capital name Amaravati is a good thing to happen.

ANother plus for TDP in TS is that TDP asked for PV saab's memorial in Dhilli. If that comes through, TDP/BJP in TS can get a few more mla/mp seats in TS come 2019 or so one hopes.

I was one of the people who you described as biggest fools for a long time. :D before leaving AP to become a public servant.

Coming to CBN, I agree that there is no alternative. The main reason is entire anti congress space in AP has gone to TDP because of NTR and CBN inherited it. BJP leaders of both telugu states were/are fools. TS they are better than AP. Further division drama played very badly by them. Sushma aunt also played the game to ensure Con Mafia plan for AP is implemented no matter what and very little tangable return to BJP. NM somehow saved BJP in AP and they got no credit in TS. BJP leadership has another big weakness in Venkayya who left AP BJP very weak and did/doing nothing to improve or strengthen it.

We have to accept that BJP never seriously tried to grow in south (and east) and Karnataka is an exception to this after Ramakrishna Hegde time. Such chance was and is not there for BJP in other states in south. AS is the first BJP president who is seriously trying to grow BJP in south and east. But it will take time and serious commitment from central leadership. If both is there I am sure BJP will replace CBN may be in a decade.

Agreed, there is TINA factor for CBN. Despite triangulation (farm loan waiver, NaMo's wave, and capital builder image) TDP's votes were just 6 lakhshigher than Jagan's. What if there is no Modi's wave or farm loan waiver, would it be enough for CBN to get to power.

What is Jagan's strength, 20-30% crypto Christians (if correctly managed, it can be reduced to 10-15% over a period of 3-6 years), Muslims votes and others.

Since its proved that your own strength and borrowed strength (Modi's wave), you just barely able to survive Jagan (rabid EJ) onslaught. What is CBN doing to weaken his opposition leader's vote banks, zilch. He naively funding Christian Bhavans and otherChristian specific schemes, why no such schemes for poor Hindus (his real vote banks).
To rub salt on wounds, he is taxing more on Hindu Temples. His cardinal sin at present time, he is doing nothing to stop aggressive and deceptive Evangelism, knowing fully that Christians will vote blindly Jagan and his family at any time.

Even if Jagan goes to jail (remotely possible with current judicial setup and speed), EJ's will prop his sister to preserve EJ's power, but they will never vote for CBN. Despite knowing this fully, why he is not strengthening hands of Hindus and their organizations. Unlike other state, AP (like some NE states) is at brink of demographic change, cannot he see it?

How long does he have protective cover of TINA and is it enough to win over Jagan et al?
What is CBN doing pro-actively to strengthen Hindus and his own vote bank?

Forget BJP. NM and AS will look after that and most of the Con leadership now jumped to BJP. Real enemy is EJ and Jagan is only the face of it. MQ division plan is also based on EJ vote bank. If Jagan fails and somehow is in Jail also EJ will migrate to Con Mafia or to his sister.

But problem is VHP is not doing much as of now and the idiot BJP minister incharge of endoments is also not doing much. If any state which is dire need for Ghar wapasi it is AP. People like Poornanada Swamy are doing their bit but they can do only so much. Massive activity is needed and needed ASAP.

^^ One way to handle it is identify 100-200 leaders in Dalit Xian community, reward them and co-opt them to help Ghar wapsi. Start a co-operative society where their groups are helped, tracked, sponsored in schools/colleges. Amit Shad did this to rural panchayats in Gujarat where they stole all second rung leadership to crush Congress. They have to plan similar thing. Wonder if RSS/VHP can strategize?

That number is a bit misleading because TDP gave some 15 seats to BJP which may account for an additional 12 lakhs of TDP votes. That said, the election was indeed quite close. In future, if Congress further weakens in AP, its remaining votes are likely to go to YSRCP, making it really tough for TDP.

BJP has no option but to choose between TDP and YSRCP in 2019.

Telangana plant on SAIL agenda
New Delhi, April 3: SAIL has been asked to set up a 3-million-tonne steel plant in a consortium with two other state-run companies at Khammam in Telangana - a move that many fear could be a repeat of its folly in setting up loss-making Salem Steel Plant.

PepsiCo's biggest Indian unit gets rolling in Andhra Pradesh
PepsiCo will make Andhra Pradesh its national sourcing hub for fruit pulp and other agro products for the Indian market, global chairman and chief executive Indra Nooyi announced on Friday. "PepsiCo wants to make Andhra Pradesh as the national sourcing hub for mango pulp. And in the process, at least 33,000 farmers will be benefited by 2020," said Nooyi.

The announcement comes three months after Nooyi promised Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu— in Davos on the sidelines of World Economic Forum meeting— that the US-headquartered beverages and food products company will procure mangoes in large quantities from the state and look at setting up mango pulp units.

While Nooyi had evinced interest to procure some 250 million tonnes of mangoes from Andhra Pradesh, Naidu had expressed inability to meet the needs of PepsiCo immediately since the state was producing around 70 million tonnes. However, he promised to step up mango production. The PepsiCo chief also expressed interest in packaging and branding the tender coconut water, a move that could help the coconut farmers in the Konaseema region of the state, apart from procuring jowar, papaya, banana and other agricultural and horticultural produce. Nooyi and Naidu on Friday inaugurated one of the largest global facilities of PepsiCo at Sri City industrial estate in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. On the occasion, Naidu inaugurated facilities of 11 global firms involving Rs 1,500 crore of investment and also laid foundation stones for another 11 units being taken up at around Rs1,000 crore.

The first production line took off on Friday at PepsiCo's facility in Sri City. The company will produce a range of beverages including fruit juice based drinks and carbonated soft drinks, and will add sports and food beverages later. The Sri City facility is the largest beverages plant for PepsiCo in India with single largest investment so far and part of its Rs 33,000 crore committed investment by 2020 in the country.

"For more than 25 years, Pepsi-Co has been investing in Indian economy and its people. As we move forward into our next 25 years, that commitment is stronger than ever," said Nooyi. PepsiCo India CEO D Shivkumar said, "Andhra is one of the richest agro and horticulture bases and also one of the richest consumer bases for us in India."
Looks like CBN is doing a good job of promoting industrialization in Andhra.

Don't forget that Sri City and Pesico investment of Rs 1500 crores was done during Kiran Kumar Redy govt. It was part of Rs 30000 crore investment of PepsiCo in India for next 10 years that was announced 2 years ago. CBN was at right time for opening ceremony of the plant. However, I hope he succeeds in bringing new projects.

I think there is a serious misreading of the Jagan/YSJ phenomenon.

If crypto-Christians are such a huge force, YSR himself would not have come close to losing in 2009. Deft political manoeuvring by AP congress of that time by propping up Chirajeevi's praja rajyam saved YSR's bacon.

2014 should be viewed in the backdrop of serious grief and anger at the manner of division. CBN was also blamed because he did not seriously oppose it before the bill was passed. BJP actively midwifed the division.

For what it is worth, the only serious opponent right from 2009 December (when Chidu announced telangana as sonia amma's gift on her birthday), was Jagan. He actively opposed it using his TV channel and newspaper.

He had the foresight to recognize that his base in telangana was non-existent and put all his eggs in the Seema-Andhra basket.

In the end, it took Modi's personal appeal that Andhra would not be abandoned and the serious TDP organizational base to snatch the election.

The crypto Christian base of YSRP is no way close to what we imagine.

I did not intend my comment as a personal jibe, saar.

I also disagree with you that the Telangana BJP is any better. You just have to listen to idiots like Kishen Reddy (the pejorative chicken reddy suits him perfectly. The most gutless leader I have ever seen), Bandaru Dattareya, etc.

I know Dattareya is a very nice man. Same can be said about Kishen Reddy also. Good humans, but utterly lacking in leadership.

BJP lost the plot during the Telangana division. I don't know who gamed the scenarios.

It was very good strategy to assist the Congress suicide in its most dependable State. But, the bill should have been opposed and agitations led in Andhra area by BJP national leaders.

Any commoner in Telangana could have told them that they were no-hopers. KCR was absolutely going to run away with the election.

If they had seriously invested in Andhra (using the one-sided nature of the division Bill's provisions) and campaigned hard, they would have built a base already.

They lost the plot.

In Telangana they had nothing to gain. It was Andhra during that emotive time that was ripe for picking.

There is lot of hype around CBN's visit to China, and the media is also carried over by glamor rather than the facts. Knowing how pragmatic China is, I don't see how this is beneficial to AP or India. Even though China has reached a level of prosperity, they very well know that India is only some 15-20 years behind, and if there is any country that can challenge thier low cost mass producing manufacturing base, it is India with identical social, cultural and economic make up.

So what Chinese may be doing is to expand their low tech high polluting business to India. When I hear about the proposal to start new Chinese cement factory in Guntur, it validates this theory. Recently there were wide spread protests in one of their provinces against, yet another, proposal to put massive Chinese cement factory. Wth many health issues around these plants, people were up in arms against any govt. proposal for a cement factory. So it seems India could be the destination for these plants.

I hope some reality prevails and not fall for Chinese trap. Instead they are better off going with Japanese, Korean or Taiwanese manufacturers.

Funds flow freely for Naidu’s own expenses
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh may be in the midst of a major financial crisis, but this has not stopped chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu from spending a steep Rs 100 crore of the public exchequer money on himself. This includes refurbishing various offices and hiring aircraft and helicopters for his national and international travels.

Till date, Naidu has constructed four offices for the chief minister and camp offices in Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Presently coming up at a cost of Rs 21.3 crore is the new camp office in Vijayawada. While Rs 6.3 crore has been released for converting the irrigation circle office as the camp office, Rs 15 crore is being spent for the security set-up. Separate GOs have been issued for these expenditures.

Earlier, Naidu spent Rs 45 crore of public money on refurbishing the Lake View Guest House as well as two blocks in the AP Secretariat in Hyderabad. Immediately after his victory in the 2014 general elections, he ordered renovation of South H block as his new office and the state government spent more than Rs 15 crore on sprucing up the building. However, citing bad vaastu, Naidu later opted for an office in L block. Complete renovation of the 7th and 8th floors of the building was ordered, which took three months and cost about Rs 20 crore. Apart from that, at an additional cost of Rs 5 crore, new lifts were installed, new entrances were put in place and elaborate security arrangements made.

To give a facelift to the Lake View Guest House on the Raj Bhavan Road, the state government spent about Rs 7 crore. However, the building is now used being used only once a week by Naidu. As part of the renovation, age old boulders on the guest house premises were removed and all rooms refurbished to ensure that chief minister has the finest camp office.

But the expenditure does not stop there. Naidu has moved into a new rented accommodation in Jubilee Hills and there is a proposal for another camp office there at his temporary residence for which the state wants to pay Rs two lakh a month as rent. This does not include the residential quarters as that is treated under a separate head.

Interestingly, Naidu's extravagance did not stop with changing offices, but extended to hiring chartered planes and choppers. Ever since he took over as chief minister, he has made sure that majority of his tours, domestic and foreign, are managed by private chartered companies. The Navayuga group that operates two ports across the east coast is one regular supplier of chartered planes to the AP CM. Airone is another private company that has extended its services to Naidu's frequent tours that included a chartered flight to Singapore along with some corporates.

"The government has paid Rs 15 crore (GO No. 30) to these private flight operators up to February. Another Rs 7 crore has to be paid for the month of February and March. The bill for the month of April has not yet been received," said sources in the government.

The CM visited Singapore twice as well as Japan, China and Davos once during the last ten months and is all set to visit the USA soon. Further, in the name of equal justice to all districts, Naidu came out with an innovative concept of holding programmes in different districts including the collectors' conference in Vijayawada, Independence Day celebrations in Kurnool and investors' meet in Visakhapatnam. However, according to officials, this has increased the state expenditure as hundreds of officers are forced to travel and stay in hotels in these places to attend Naidu's meetings. "Instead of going about his work by displaying austerity, the AP CM is doing the exact opposite and bleeding the state's coffers," lamented a senior official who did not want to be named.

Keynesian logic - more spend more jobs (temporary may be but still a job is a job is a job). No I don't agree with it, but probably the voting commoners of AP require some projection if they want to build up industrial/commercial cities to compete with Hyd/TS.

Field of Dreams or "film city" mentality goes all the way to the top. It is not for nothing the number of Telugu language films per anum is in the top three in the world. Sometimes they confuse that for development.

Kiran Kumar Reddy writing tell-all book on Telangana to 'expose' Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi
HYDERABAD: The man who has been in political oblivion since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh is trying to hog the limelight now with what he claims is a tell-all book on Telangana. Former chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is finishing a 400-page book that he says will reveal the untold story of the division of Andhra Pradesh and expose the double-talk of Congress, its president Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi, TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and a few AP Congress leaders.

"I am recording all those details of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. It will have full information about what happened in the corridors of power and which leader played what role. All the information in the book is backed by documentary evidence," Kiran Kumar Reddy told TOI.

Having completed the major portion of the book during a short stay in the US, Kiran says the manuscript, yet untitled, will be ready in a month. The ex-CM, who quit the Congress over bifurcation of AP, floated his own party Jai Samaikyanahdra which was a non-starter. Since then, Kiran has been spending time playing golf and catching up with the family.

"Ever since the bifurcation, Kiran has been in political wilderness. Though there was talk of him joining the BJP, nothing has happened so far. The book on Telangana will have enough fodder to bring him back to the limelight," claimed a source close to him.

Kiran refused to share details of the book but sources said it records in detail the backdoor activity within the Congress which paved the way for the creation of Telangana. The book has many details of Kiran's meetings with Sonia Gandhi, then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior ministers in the UPA. To buttress his case, Kiran will reproduce minutes of the meetings of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) in which the decision to divide the state was finalized.

"Several reports were sought by the Congress high command on Telangana from senior leaders of the party. Such reports were submitted by party leaders AK Antony, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Veerappa Moily. The content of these reports will get a mention in Kiran's book," said the source.

"Kiran had several meetings with the Congress chief on Telangana. Only 25 percent of this got reported in the media. The book will reveal details," said a sources privy to the contents of the book. Apart from Sonia, the book is likely to contain revelations about Rahul Gandhi. "The book will narrate the substance of the reports submitted by party leaders Azad, Moily and Digvijay Singh to the Congress vice president and the latter's response to them," the source said.

Apart from Sonia and Rahul, the book threatens to lay bare the stance of then TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu as well as a few Congress leaders from the Seemandhra region on the Telangana demand.

KKR is said to be EJ, but now that there are so many EJ's in Andhra, that each group has made its own identity and does not obey to the Catholic gang from Delhi. Most of the Protestant EJ's in ANdhra dont like Catholics. Some of them say that Catholics are not even Christians.

They have such significant numbers that they are quite secure in their numbers and power. The EJ's in Andhra are now fighting for power and Money internally across denominations and even inside the same denominations for church control and money

Bhavani: so AP EJ groups imported "heendoo caste" system whole sale into their Christianity. It could be that the dilli billi Catholic claim of their being "brams" too Might be causing a little bit of khujli to AP xtians who are reddy/kamma/Kapu.

The seeds of caste division sowed by the erstwhile "tella doralu" (white masters) is bearing fruit
though the perfidius Albions are long gone.

Don't know about his family, but KKR seems to be a devotee of Lord Venkateshwara.

I know YSR and even his crooked son visited Tirumala, but I doubt anyone not a devotee of the Lord would tonsure his head. Look at the TV9 video, KKR does seem a very devoted Hindu.

TRS will Consider Joining Team Modi
Speaking to reporters here, Kavitha indicated the TRS will give it a thought as and when the invitation comes. “If the PM takes a decision to induct the TRS into the Union government, only then will the TRS think about it (the invitation),’’ she said in reply to a query. There have been reports that the TRS is keen on joining Team Modi and in return, may induct one or two BJP MLAs into the State Cabinet. TRS leaders have been maintaining strategic silence on the reports, neither denying nor affirming them.
Considering the lackluster attitude of TS BJP leaders, it will be even nice if TRS merges into BJP and KCR and his family be made de facto leaders of TS BJP.

So that BJP and NDA lose entire 25 seats in AP? NDA has won most of the seats in AP in 2014 and out of 17 seats in TS its performance is pathetic.

KCR and his family can not be controlled by anyone. At least for the next decade or so.

Given the way TRS is behaving, I dont think joining BJP is on thier mind.

Media will try its best to give Opposition space to INC and not TD and BJP in Telegnana. TRS is a loose INC ally like YSR-C party.

Aligning with TD both in AP and Telegnana is the bets bet for BJP int he near future.

Near future is the operating word. C.B.N. is not trust worthy person in long run.

I was in AP for 5 days last week. There is a general belief that BJP has not fulfilled its promise to help AP. It is not a good sign for 2019. May be passing laws on some central universities etc to be located in AP and other such things are needed. CBN is gone mad with his "mega capital" project and very doubtful he will win next time if he continues with the same kind of stupidity.

Jagan need to be prosecuted actively. That is a must for the survival of Indics in AP. It is not happening.
