Your angst primarily comes from the fact BJP is playing this drama baazi; it is very similar to some other BRFites too.vina wrote:GET ORGANIZED , GET SMART and start fighting your own battles and for heaven's sake, leave the BJP out. They and their hate baggage of long time baiting of the Muslims is like waving a red rag in front of a bull to any Muslim.
There are about 5-6 BRFites, currently, who have voiced opinion against the flag hoisting giving so many reasons. Eventually, it all boils down to "BJP is doing this onlee" type of arguments. In fact Menon sahib said he would have welcomed if it was orchestrated by CPI instead of BJP, all the while arguing how it is insensitive ityadi.
And these very same posters have the audacity to hop on Ivory Pedestal and lecture how a political party - BJP - is playing politics. If it was not sad, it would be highly funny.
In a free free freeeeeeee country, one does not have to wear patriotism on the sleeve to show the love towards one's country. Heck, for that matter, in such an environment one does not have to love the country. Both love and hatred can be shown in various manners. Just because one does not stand up during national anthem or does not salute when the national flag is hoisted does not mean she or he does not love the country. The individual could be honest and hard working and pulling the country far ahead than say a person who just hoists flag and gives baashan. A person who hates the land in which she or he lives might do it for so many reasons, it is a natural human feeling to either feel part of something or do not feel part of something. We cannot force them to love or hate.
It matters little if Kashmiris hoist the flag themselves or not. What is important here is the fact that local and central governments are acting quite strangely. For crying out loud, BJP is not organizing a yatra that culminates in throwing pork into mosques (or for that matter beef into temple complexes). So it is not religious sentiments, but national sentiments.
I get it there are some people in J&K who are alienated for the right and wrong reasons. I also get it some times the Indian authorities do not handle the cases in evenhandedly. No doubt, many innocent lives have been lost. No doubt, it is a mind game, and GoI should win the hearts and minds of the people. But the situation has not been blown because of just domestic reasons; clearly there are evidences of Pakistan orchestrating lots of takleef. And this becomes a national issue that GoI must handle. And political parties in a democracy try to get their points across to the people in various manners. This is one such.
I would welcome the flag hoisting by INC, CPI, DMK, TDP, or others. This is an act by the country India, proclaiming and marking its territory. People arguing against BJP and "humans first, state next" are missing the important point or pushing it on the back burner. Because, the same people are saying only a minority of the Kashmiris are alienated. If that is the case why is the local and central authorities concerned so much? Is it because they do not want to give political points to BJP? If yes, then they are playing politics as well, no? If it is clearly not a small minority, then it means a lot of brain-washing and alienation has happened. Caused by both Indian and Pakistani operations. It makes sense to send a message to Pakistan that this is side of J&K is ours, no?
This is a National issue foremost.
Let me ask all those who oppose the flag hoisting. Are you ready for J&K to cede from India?
