pakis will win with no loss.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Question to kirket gurus. I am deeply suspiscous of Ajma's action, especially when he bowls the doosra. He clearly bends his arm at the elbow, and to me its a throw.
Can a batsman question a bowler's action when given out? Can an umpire order a review of a bowler's action if he deems it suspiscous? Can a 3rd umpire intervene and declare that a bowler threw a ball?

Re: The Cricket Thread
Nope under current rules Umpires will report a bowler after a match, then he will not play until Biomechanics clear him. But to do that in the WC- I dont think any umpire is brave enough although it is clear he is a chucker.CRamS wrote:Question to kirket gurus. As per PP WC is fixed and Indo-Pak semifinal is being plotted.

Re: The Cricket Thread
bending by itself is allowed but straightening that bend at the point of release is a no-no. you can bowl an entire delivery with a bent arm no problem. in addition you are now allowed to flex at something like 15 deg (IIRC).
ajmal is good. and his doosra seems par for the course. nobody can bowl a doosra with an action as silken as prassanna's, not somebody whose doosra turns so much. think about it doosra involves a wrist movement along an axis in which the wrist itself is most constrained, where will the rest of movement required to deliver the ball come from? - elbow!

Tried and Tested, Sachin likes to Open the Batting not lower down, his record is much worse when he bats lower down, he has stated many times that he likes to Open the Batting when his performances are the best.SwamyG wrote:Here is my brilliant plan pulled out of my musharraf, send Sachin 2nd or 3rd down. * man what a strong batting line up we have on paper. Instead of us shivering in lungi, shouldn't it be the others, huh? Sad onlee.

may be.. but dhoni would give only one chance for non chelas, unlike chaval et al.krishnan wrote:What if pranthan plays today ?
Re: The Cricket Thread
ashwin-bhaji-bhojraj-raina combo can work wonders with support from sewag-srt-kohli if necessary. if munna can't get wickets, then there is no point for him to keep bowling below par pace which he is supposed to bowl. munna should get back to bowling 150kmph at least for every other delivery. he needs to be squeezed 'cause of him we will definitely loose about 25-35 runs on poor fielding.
he has got one of the laziest follow through ever in kirikat history.

Oh we are going to lose very pathetically onleeeee

Re: The Cricket Thread
whoever wins at motera would find it near impossible to stop this paki bowling at mohali. 2 of SL, Pak and SA will play final.
Re: The Cricket Thread
If betters have it their way, india will make it to final, unless we ourself dont want to
Re: The Cricket Thread

Now the pakis will demand IPL slots!
Re: The Cricket Thread
One of my desi friends keeps saying how Pakistan is all hungry for a win ityadi. Were the bowlers any good? Or was it poor WI batting? This WC has seen several collapses now.
Re: The Cricket Thread
perhaps they proved winning is not because of teams capability, but it is all joint-intentions only!.
There are many in TI, who have no intentions to win or have killing instincts.
- munna to top the list
- dhoni comes second
- futhan ranks 3rd
- bhajii has lost it
- raina has subdued it
rest are half way towards this goal.

Ind vs Aus: Sehwag doubtful for quarterfinal against Australia
Vile Aussie propahgandu I thought till I realized it's from the MSD horse's mouth only.

Vile Aussie propahgandu I thought till I realized it's from the MSD horse's mouth only.
AHMEDABAD: Uncertainty remained on the availability of dashing opener Virender Sehwag for India's make-or-break World Cup quarterfinal match against defending champions Australia on Thursday, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said on Wednesday.
"We will take a call on Virender Sehwag late this evening or tomorrow morning before the start of the game. All the others are fit and available for selection," Dhoni said at the match-eve media conference at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera.
Sehwag, who lit up the tournament with a breathtaking 175 against Bangladesh in the opening match at Mirpur on February 19, missed India's last Group B tie against the West Indies at Chennai on March 20 after aggravating his old knee problem during the course of the tournament.
He played last against South Africa at Nagpur on March 12, scoring a half century.
Dhoni said the Indian team would certainly miss Sehwag if he is unable to play on Thursday against the world's top-ranked ODI outfit.
"It's really good to have Virender Sehwag opening the innings. He can play an aggressive game. He can change the course of the game in the first five overs, give the team the kind of momentum that is needed," said Dhoni.
On Tuesday, the Delhi dasher did not take part in the warm-up session but later joined the team in the batting practice for half an hour.

Can we have Sehwag bat with a runner and later have him substituted for fielding ?

^^^^ Aha....chankian-ness from TI was going on there now, was it....eh? Great idea.
Re: The Cricket Thread
ever since richardson and walsh retired, WI have drifted like rudderless ship, sullen body language on field, no plan, disciplinary issues, intra team fights, fights between team and retired players, nobody of unquestioned stature to bind the players and make them run in the same direction. nobody with half the stature of Lloyd or Richards.
that in essense is the main issue. individually their team is not so bad, but no real leader and no planning.

Lara was a great batsman, but not a good leader. None of the Windies seem to care anymore.

Whats it with VS's fitness. He plays a few matches and then suffers some kind of an injury. This is a crucial match. I hope he is fit.Hari Seldon wrote:Ind vs Aus: Sehwag doubtful for quarterfinal against Australia

"I don't mind bowling up into his rib-cage to be honest," Johnson said. "He seems to struggle with that a bit. I guess [also] putting pressure on him, if he gets a single it puts pressure on the batsman at the other end. That's one way we thought about it as well. It's always a good challenge to bowl to someone like that, he doesn't really use his feet but he can hit the ball hard. It will be a pretty good start to the game if we can get him early.
Re: The Cricket Thread
It was a combination of good bowling, pitch, and pathetic WI batting. With little less help from the pitch and more skillful batting, the terrorist bowling can be neutered. It looks more ominious than it needs to be IMO. But that said, the terrorists' bowling sure does have some punch. I hope if TI wins against white Pakis, then the pithc at Mohali will be a dead, flat track with very little bounce. the Jihadi Afridi will get a lot of purchase of the track has bounce.Rahul M wrote:whoever wins at motera would find it near impossible to stop this paki bowling at mohali. 2 of SL, Pak and SA will play final.

May be the doctor who jabbed sewag did not understand sewag's allergies to medicines? hope the doc did his analysis on sewag's allergies to various types of drugs.

Re: The Cricket Thread
WI case is no different than Pakis . bad mgmt and leadership made the pakis reach a nadir from which they have now recovered - some troublemakers and bikaus have been removed, the rest are playing well now and team mgmt seems to have things under control.
change has to start from the top down in WI, but who is a fit leader I do not know.

Re: The Cricket Thread
My worst nightmare for this WC wasn't India losing (that wouldn't be surprising given our team), it was the pakis lifting the cup at Wankhede. Looking at the way they dismantled WI (keep in mind we were struggling against this team minus Gayle and Roach, before they collapsed), I am now literally shivering in my non-existent dhoti.
I'm not averse to joining Bal Thackeray's goons if they try to stop the Pak-SA final which is now looking likely to me.

Re: The Cricket Thread
If pakis lift the cup, and let us say against TI, then remember these words.. dhonisms will perish. losing against pakis in desh! end of career for many!
