NEW DELHI: India hailed “extremely positive” peace talks with Pakistan on Monday with both countries looking to build on a recent warming in relations brought on by some successful “cricket diplomacy.”
"Extremely positive" - Did Pakistan assure that there would be no more terror attacks?

Sunny Gavaskar from an article at rediff.

:D

In this context, it would be pertinent to note what Sunil Gavaskar, himself a mumbaikar, had to say on a talk show when he was asked whether Pakistan would lose the semi-final.

He said, "I doubt whether Pakistan would lose the Mohali game; Pakistanis have a special fascination for Mumbai. They keep sneaking into Mumbai by whatever route they can find and which is available. So I would not be surprised if they do it again and reach Mumbai again."

Certainly a hard hitting left hand drive from the little master who comes from a city where the wounds of 2008 carnage have still not healed, a fact which Dr Singh seems to have forgotten about.

Werent that donkey Malik and the lackey Noble (who got sitar e something or the other) crowing about Pakistani help in getting a terrorist arrested? Now that person has been released. So it must be all drama.

Who in Pakistan likes Rehman Malik?

Ans: Rehman Malik himself, his wifey and kids period.

Zardari has kept him there to be a scapegoat, notice that as interior minister, he has to keep giving out statements condemning terror strikes by the talibs, he has to tackle tircky situations like the pious killing munafiqs, has to balance pressure from India on 26/11 and say that the terrorists were pakistani (inviting the ire of the Faujis and the pious). He has to play a delicate balancing act on terror and crime within, unsure of what will tick off the ISI. On top of this the pious now know that he is not up to speed on his quran recital a lacuna that he has sought to address with the utmost urgency by memorizing a few lines of the Sorut Ikhlas and giving his security guards an impromptu demonstration. :rotfl:

The poor man is Wajib-ul-qatl on many counts by all sundry. Poor chap must be lonely, a little crazy and under tremendous pressure. He is not a pushtaini politician (generational politician), and is a tad bit out of touch with reality. And so he gives out these interesting statements from time to time. Poor guy is a career cop for godssake - he thought life was all about accepting ghoos from criminals, must be rueing the day he came into politics. The rewards are immense, but chances are extremely high that he will not live long enough to savour them.

Poor Guy.

What kind of psychology one must have to give out such a statement?
The piskology is "Whatever happens, I come out looking clean. I need not even do anything and in any case I am a Paki and am powerless to change Pakiness where criminal behavior is considered normal"

Is Manmohan Singh Indian Naville Chamberlain? We are seeing same attitude of "save war at all cost" before WW2 playing in Indian continent. I am certain this bhaicghara is going to put us in big troble.

http://www.indianexpress.com/news/pm-on ... ea/768573/

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s decision to invite the Pakistani political leadership to the India-Pakistan World Cup semi-final at Mohali was a move straight from his desk.

There was no formal consultation with the Cabinet Committee on Security and the PMO directly faxed invitation letters to the office of the Pak President Asif Ali Zardari and Pak Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani without involving the Indian High Commission.

Under the circumstances, talking to TSPA is tantamount to abject surrender. I am with TSPA on this, but why would and why should TSPA buckle an inch from a winning strategy just because India wants to talk to them? On the contrary, it will only invite contempt and ridicule at GHQ, and rightfully so.

The Pakistani cricket team has just been put on notice.

If they lose the semifinals as they are expected to, they are going to be so wajib-ul-cuttle onlee.

I hear that each player has a black burqa in his cricket kit to slip out of the stadium at SAS Nagar and then enter pakistan quietly in the middle of the night.

If they lose, the pious will say they fixed the match and accepted money. Rehman Malik has already given the abduls back home a readymade bahana to cull the ghazis should they lose. The 11 pakis will be fighting for their lives in the stadium. Literally

So they will win and India will be kicked out. If this is what creates victors I am all for using the same tactic on the Indian team.

Instead of preparing a robust military response, creating/infiltrating/purchasing intelligence assets, lobbying @ international platforms, using coercive diplomacy etc etc etc. When a 2 gram brain of mine can understand the fact that deep engagement with civilian govt. in TSP will only make the army insecure and invite terror attacks, why can't our great economist understand that.

PErhaps it's something to do with our DNA or maybe indian demographics whereby I've always noticed that North Indians tend to have much more of a "soft corner" for pakis, perhaps owing to cultural similarties , whereas leaders from other states of India (especially southern) have a much clearer picture of Pakistans hawkish stand towards India and a clearer roadmap to tackle it.
When we have a ex-Indian amby of the Af-Pak region claiming that India is at fault for opening LoC question by taking Siachen and so should make up( and tons of ex-FS and ex-IA/IN/IAF chiefs turning hardcore WKK), you can know in how much safe hands our interests are when it comes to Pak!!

Personally, the PM, sources said, was “quite convinced”. Insiders said he had been wondering aloud about revisiting the Pakistan initiative given the fact that more than a year had passed since he had met either Zardari or Gilani.
Does MMS not get sleep at night if he doesnt meet groper/Zardari? :-?

What does does one make of the statement " a year had passed since he last met them and so, he wanted to again"??

Aren't they wajib-ul-qital in any case ? There are some powerful elements in TSP who call cricket 'haraami' and then there are many who will happily dub the cricketers as wajib-ul-qital if Pakistan loses against kafir India. So, the TSP Team is caught between a rock and a hard place. If they go down against India, the may not return to Pakistan for a while.

so your basic argument thrust is,

look even though he has raped and murdered, he is suffering from lice and eczema. So what if he isnt jailed and punished for the rape and murder, he is suffering from lice, isnt that punishment enough??

The relatives of the raped and murdered should take into consideration the lice and forgive him. Seems like India's Shakuni has done exactly that.

Probably Rehman Malik simply wanted the betting public to go ahead and bet, so that Dawood & Co. can again make money, and Rehman Malik gets his cut!

No terror threat to WC: Interpol
There is something deeply fishy here. Firstly, Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble praised Pakistan sky-high for arresting a suspect and announced a 2M Euro aid to Pakistan's FIA. In turn, Rehman Malik praised Noble for his support and the GoP gave him an award also. Within a couple of days, the arrested suspect, a Maldivian, was released ! Now, in the same press meet, Rehman Malik announced a threat to India during the WC. Now, Interpol says there is nothing. So, what is happening ?

See here, The Gardens of the Night at Mohali in The Hindu
I sat in the talks in the winter of 1992 in the cavernous Ministry of Defence conference room in South Block as part of the four-member Indian delegation negotiating Siachen. Honestly, my conviction is that the agreement we negotiated and would have been initialled and the press release we had drawn up and would have handed down to the media in a few minutes' time about that great moment under the flashbulbs in India-Pakistan relationship cannot be substantially improved upon. Yes, it is an eminently “doable” issue over a problem which many mistake it to be about the cost at which the Indian Army supplies chapatis to the jawans stationed in those horrible heights but is actually about healing a wound that India opened by altering the Line of Control by force — after which things were never the same again.
It is because of madarch*ds like MKB that this country has to suffer the ignominy of the strategic failures......"altering of LOC by force by Indians" my foot.....when will thus country rid of dumbf*cks like him?

After 71 years
Excerpts
One speech by Mr Mohammed Ali Jinnah on August 11, 1947 — often quoted by the liberals — cannot wipe out the umpteen speeches by him and other leaders declaring that the Muslims of India need a separate homeland because they are a separate nation and want to live according to the cannons of Islam.

The question that needed to be asked was, were the Muslims of India not following Islamic teachings when they were living in India for the 1,000 years before partition? Of course they lived in India as Muslims without any challenge from other religions. On the contrary, although Muslims were a minority, they ruled India for over 800 years and it never occurred to them then that they were a separate nation. However, when it came to democracy, where numbers matter and the Hindu majority would have had the upper-hand, the Muslims were reminded — after centuries of convenient amnesia — that they were a separate nation.

So the analogy is that while running away from democracy, the Muslim elite in India acted like a spoilsport brat who, after taking his batting turn in the neighbourhood match, walks away with his bat saying that his mother needs him and hence he cannot field.

Cement production in Pakistan
He said Pakistani cement manufacturing capacity has touched 44 million tonnes annually whereas domestic demand has reduced to 23 million tonnes.

He said the short-term scenario in Pakistan was gloomy and cement demand was expected to remain stagnant.

best thing would be at the start of the match observe 2 min silence for the 26/11 victims and show a message from Hemant Karakare's wife on the giant screen.

India and Pakistan's home secretaries meet.

News media reports that GK Pillay has said that the 'Trust Deficit' has been reduced 'significantly'

Pakistan gobernment has promised to contest the court's order that denied permission to hand over the voice samples of the 26/11 handlers to India.

There seems to be some Taqiya at display by the Pakistanis these days, specially after RAW caught them with their pants down on the Kabul embassy attack that they were planning to conduct last week. Also ever since the Pakistanis reached the semi final and now hope to win and go to play in Mumbai, there is some temporary taqiya on display.

Once the Pakistanis are out of the world cup tomorrow, the pakis will come into their true form.

Delete this comment before our pujya Pradhan Mantri saheb sees this. Forget 26/11, he will observe 2 min silence for Pakistani citizens killed in Samjhauta Express blast perpetrated by Yindoo terrorists. Is clown Baba also coming to see the match along with his Italian waitress mother? What about Doggy Raja? They would shamelessly beat their chests for the 'Pakistani victims' of Yindoo terror. What a great opportunity for Psy Ops! A billion clueless people watching the match, 26/11 is already forgotten, heck, people will forget the grand scale looting of their country, come next elections they will go & vote for the same party. What a stage to do pappi jhappee, the mango Indian will again go back thinking all is fine & dandy...Emerging superpower, my stinking foot...

Pakistan made similar moves before Yekaterinburg, before Washington, before Havana and Sharm-el-Sheikh meetings. They have absolutely no intention to pursue the 26/11 case because their deception of 'non-state actors' will collapse.

A noob question. According to ISlam any place where namaz is offered becomes masjid/allah's property. What happens if they claim Mohali stadium as their religious ground :|
