Saeed also claimed that the movement in Kashmir would serve as an example for "Muslims in Hyderabad and Junagarh who want independence from the oppression of Hindus"....
As per SSridhar garu, at the time of Independence
  • Hyderabad was 85% Hindu
  • Junagarh was 95% Hindu
So obviously Professor Hafeez-e-Pig is speaking through his musharraf, not knowing the A B C of Partition of India.

Pakistan 'asks US to cut CIA's role'
CIA weighs greater co-ordination and information sharing with ISI while Pakistan demands fewer American operatives.
Last Modified: 12 Apr 2011 06:40

CIA is considering greater co-ordination and information sharing with Pakistan's intelligence agency, US officials say.

Leon Panetta, the CIA director, and Ahmed Shuja Pasha, the head of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence, met on Monday at the CIA headquarters in Washington to discuss the relationship.

The New York Times newspaper said Pakistan has demanded that the US steeply reduce the number of CIA operatives and Special Operations forces working in Pakistan, and that it put on hold CIA drone attacks aimed at fighters in northwest Pakistan.

Looks like Suniel Shetty didnt like Afridi's statements at all. Nice!

http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/news/20 ... index.html
Shahid Afridi's anti-India statements in Pakistan have left Suniel Shetty wounded and wary for life. Known to extend hospitality to foreign entertainers from the world of cinema and sports, Suniel wonders if it's worthwhile to extend a red-carpet welcome to guests when they pull the rug from under their host's hospitality.

But a commitment is a commitment. Suniel Shetty's entertainment company is hosting American rapper Akon's twin concerts on April 16 and 17 in Delhi and Bangalore, respectively. However, before that, Suniel is hosting a birthday party for Akon on the night of 15th April. The problem is, Akon wants it to be a very closed private affair with just a handful of guests.

Gregarious host that he is, Suniel is caught in a quandary of hospitality. Whom to invite and whom to leave out from Bollywood without causing offence to those who get excluded from the exclusive guest list?

Admits Suniel, "Yes, we're bringing in Akon's birthday in Mumbai on 15th night before his two concerts in Delhi and Bangalore. But it has to be a very small intimate gathering with just a handful of invitees. Drawing up a list is a problem. I'm still in the process of deciding whom to invite."

Adding to his woes is the exuberant feelers from every star, starlet and star-yaar for an invite to Akon's birthday.

Friends close to Suniel admit it is an agonizing process for the actor who likes to throw his door open for all his friends. However, Akon is the guest and his wish is sacrosanct for Suniel who's bracing himself for a lot of frayed egos after the Akon visit.

"But then atithee dev bhava (guest is God) or so we are supposed to believe. At least we try to treat our guests as God, though they often abuse our hospitality," says Suniel sceptically, referring to Pakistani captain of the cricket team Shahid Afridi's baffling outburst against Indian hospitality.

Says Suniel, "I still can't get over the way Afridi spoke about us Indians after his return to Pakistan. I treated Afridi's brother, his girlfriend and friends like gods. I gave up my own seat at Mohali during the Indo-Pak match for them. I behaved like their bloody 'boy' (attendant). Then Afridi goes back and abuses us in Pakistan. Not done. We should just stop being so large-hearted and forgiving. It only encourages outsiders to abuse our hospitality."

Suniel says he had been on a goodwill mission to Lahore some time ago and had returned to India raving about Pakistani hospitality. "They really were warm and hospitable. Atithee dev bhava is fine. But let the atithee (guest) be deserving of our godlike treatment na."

Another atithee of Suniel Shetty, Canadian rocker Bryan Adams, who has an unfinished concert to attend to in Delhi is expected back in November-December.

As for Akon, Suniel Shetty will go out of his way to ensure the super-rapper's 3-day stay in India is as per his wish, even if it means displeasing Bollywood A-listers by keeping them out of Akon's birthday get-together on 15th night.

"Now after all this, if Akon goes back home to say we are bad hosts, what can we do?," Suniel's barb at Afridi's vocal display of ingratitude is not lost.

Pakistan temporarily halts intel cooperation with U.S

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistan has temporarily stopped cooperating with American intelligence officials after the upset caused by the arrest and release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis, who fatally shot two Pakistanis earlier this year, a senior Pakistani security source told CNN.
While the two countries will continue to share vital intelligence about any imminent acts of terrorism, joint operations have been put on hold, the source said, and the ISI -- Pakistan's intelligence agency -- has asked the CIA to "give them visibility" over what the source says are an estimated 40 covert American intelligence operatives working in Pakistan.

Rethinking Pakistan
“Cricket diplomacy” and the meeting of the Indian and Pakistan home secretaries are important because these were approved through the back channel maintained by Delhi with the Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani — the hub of power in Pakistan. Whatever one may think of the Pakistan Army, it is a professional force driven by cold calculation. If it thinks it can get away with some outré action or the other against India, it does not hesitate to prosecute it (think Kargil). Equally, it will do an about-turn and sue for “honourable peace” if some adventurist action misfires (recall Pervez Musharraf’s prodding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to seek US intervention in the Kargil conflict, and his virtual mea culpa of January 12, 2002, after the December 13 terrorist attack on the Indian Parliament the previous year, in order to pre-empt a punitive Indian response and potentially uncontrollable escalation).

Apparently, Gen. Kayani and his uniformed cohort believe that the policy of orchestrated terrorist outrages has run its course, at least for now, as the Pakistan Army, in the grip of excesses at home by the Tehreek-e-Taliban outfits, unremitting drone attacks by its ally US and of the pressure of the US-led North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) forces in Afghanistan on the Pashtuns of North Waziristan that’s skewing the delicate tribal balance the Pakistani state has obtained over the years in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, needs relief on its eastern border. The question is can India capitalise on what seems to be rethinking underway in the Pakistan Army?

Alas, there is surprisingly less give here than is generally assumed. Rewind to the aftermath of Sharm el-Sheikh and how quickly the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, was forced to backtrack on the issue of supposed concessions to his Pakistani counterpart. This is because India’s Pakistan policy is hostage to the petty calculations of the political class in the country and powerful ministries within the Indian government with vested interest in portraying Pakistan as menace. Pakistan Army’s nursing of terrorism as an asymmetric tool to keep India discomfited sustains this impression. But it does not over-ride the facts of the neighbouring country being economically weak, politically in a pitiful state and destabilised by unending violence and internal strife perpetrated by Islamic extremists. Nor does it preclude the need for a realistic assessment of the “Pakistan threat” given the sheer disparities.

The trouble is that for the Indian politician ties with Pakistan are an externalisation of the sometimes tense Hindi-Muslim relations at home and both are manipulable for electoral gain. This is crass cynicism at work but the “Pakistan threat” also powers the Indian military’s existing force disposition and structure. Then again, how else can three strike corps worth of tanks, armoured personnel carriers and towed artillery accounting for 26 per cent to 32 per cent of the defence budget be justified if not with reference to Pakistan? Meanwhile, the far more substantive and credible threat emanating from China is only minimally addressed.

The nine Light Mountain Divisions desperately required as offensive capability to keep the People’s Liberation Army ensconced on the Tibetan plateau honest is nowhere as glamorous as armoured and mechanised formations. Like the IAS that ensures its group interests are never compromised come hell or high water, “cavalry” generals too are loath to see a reduction of armoured strength.

Indeed, Pakistan is now the touchstone to get the government to wake up to even strategic deficiencies that are far more telling vis a vis China. Rapid Chinese strategic nuclear buildup was met with passivity, but recent press reports about Pakistan surpassing Indian nuclear weapons strength galvanised the government into ordering some remedial action.

Such Pakistan-centricity is ironic in light of the severely controlled wars of manoeuvre India is politically compelled to wage against Pakistan owing to the organic links of kinship and shared religion, culture, language and social norms binding the two countries. There is, moreover, the factor of the politically conscious Muslim electorate wielding the swing vote in almost half the Lok Sabha constituencies, who may countenance bloodying Pakistan but not its destruction. Such systemic constraints are not acknowledged by either side but have been in force from the 1947-48 Kashmir operations onwards. In any case, which Indian government would order a military dismantling of the Pakistani state resulting in 180 million Muslims, pickled in fundamentalist juices for half a century, rejoining the Indian fold?

The home ministry, intelligence agencies and Central and state police organisations, animated by an institutional habit of mind, are, likewise, Pakistan-fixated and feed the popular paranoia of a rogue Pakistan always preparing for the next terrorist spectacular on Indian soil. As the 2002 Operation Parakram showed, the right response to Islamabad-supported jihadi actions is not mobilising field armies but instantaneous retaliatory airstrikes on terrorist installations in Pakistani Kashmir in tandem with targeted intelligence operations elsewhere in that country. Combine the stick of such pressure with the carrot of incentives to wean Pakistan from its hostility, such as unilateral easing of the visa regime, and offer of open trade and investment. It is a policy mix Delhi has not seriously pursued.

But, surely nuclear Pakistan poses a threat? Short of total demolition, which India has not intended even with conventional military means, Pakistan will be offered no excuse for going nuclear.

However, if despite the nuclear taboo the General Staff in Rawalpindi contemplates nuclear weapon use for any reason, including in what passes for “wars” in these parts, they’ll be ultimately dissuaded by an “exchange ratio” prohibitively stacked against their country. Loss of two Indian cities is not recompense enough for the certain extinction of Pakistan. It is simply a bad bargain.

Bharat Karnad is professor at the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi
A source close to IA and intel agencies denied any direct talk is happening but acknowledge the recommendation being made.

This article is interesting though confirmed my personal suspicions of the game that is being played.

Karnad dropped this in the article "Gen. Kayani and his uniformed cohort believe that the policy of orchestrated terrorist outrages has run its course, at least for now...". Things are proceeding as per my hypothesis. Although BK tied this to TTP by accident, he's missed out the major game being played in West Asia (like most desi analysts).

Thanks BKji.

Sent to my congressmen and senator

This morning (April 12, 2011), the New York Times posted an online headline:
Pakistan Tells U.S. It Must Sharply Cut C.I.A. Activities

As an American taxpayer, I am requesting that you convey the message that:

The U. S. will sharply cut aid (including all military aid) to Pakistan.

Thank you,

Pakistan has no leverage

“The Americans and Pakistanis have all along been working at cross purposes on Afghanistan, the two have very different end states of what they want to see in Afghanistan,” says Malou Innocent, a foreign policy analyst who focuses on Afghanistan and Pakistan at the Cato Institute in Washington. “The reality is that the US is eradicating the very Taliban militants [in the country’s northwest] that Pakistan is using for its own objectives.”

MEI’s Weinbaum says that the kinds of demands the Pakistanis are making of the US – and perhaps more important, what they left out – suggest they know that with the Pakistani economy afflicted by a burgeoning population and high unemployment, their options for pressuring the United States are limited. “Their ace in the hole remains the [NATO] transit routes, but that’s the one thing they held back on,” Weinbaum says. “They may feel they’re in a bargaining position, but they also know they need the US and Western assistance.”

Dead ISI agents families still missing: Express Tribune

The Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued another notice to the federal government regarding the families of Faheem and Faizan, the victims of US contractor Raymond Davis. Both the families went missing after March 16, the day Davis was released in a double murder case.

Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah told the court in a written reply that the families were last seen visiting Rawalpindi along with their lawyer Irshad Kiyani. However, the Punjab government in its reply showed ignorance about the whereabouts of the family. There was no reply from the federal government, on which the court issued it another notice and adjourned the case till April 19.

Bakistan threatens to start its own IPL... again

Will match fixing be legal? Can players chew the ball?

They want to do it in Dubai after ECB kicked out Pacques from UK during the spot fixing fall out and subsequent Pacquistaniat displayed by Paki High Commissioner. Buts its next to impossible for these animals to make anything work now. They have fallen into deep shit on the civilizational hierarchy.

Here's a disaster waiting to happen. Someone better nip it in the bud before the WKK-jholawallahs take this idea up as cause-celebre. Pak army chief bro bats for student exchange
Pakistan army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani's brother and Murree's Lawrence College principal, Air Commodore (R) Farooq H Kayani, has called for teachers, students exchange programmes between India and Pakistan to promote brotherhood and peace. He said the two countries should also launch scholarship programmes for each other's students.
"Misunderstandings will disappear if a Pakistani student has an Indian teacher and vice versa. These boys and girls will bridge the gap between the two nations."
I am really concerned about the "Vice Versa".

Folks here is an experiment I am doing. It's not much of a scientific experiment but more of a pisko experiment to try and draw the maximum number of unsuspecting Pakis to view this video. We talk so much about social engineering. Here is some social engineering of my own. And yo Paklurks - the intent is open and public - no secret.

What’s at stake in U.S.-Pakistan spy talks [UPDATED]
By David Ignatius

If the past is any guide, the tone of private discussions between Pasha and Panetta will be less antagonistic than Pakistani press leaks to the Times’ veteran Islamabad correspondent, Jane Perlez, would indicate. ISI officials often reach more cooperative decisions in private than the sharp press reports would suggest. It’s all part of a delicate process of signaling and negotiation, but that doesn’t mean the issues can be fudged.

I am betting on a 200 Million head count. Now, paki-H&D dictates that the final count stays between 175 and 180 Million as this is the oft used population figure for all economic projections and current GDP calculations. Besides, god forbid if the population of the minorities is above 5%. That's hammer time.

Jug Suriya writing in the Times of India concludes that the Islamic Republic proves to be smarter than India when it comes to showing “export initiative“ :
Is Pakistan smarter than India? It would appear so. Compare the export initiative shown by the two countries. Over the years, Pakistan has become extremely proficient at exporting its biggest product. Indeed, Pakistan has become the world's leading exporter of this product, having some time ago overtaken Saudi Arabia, which previously occupied the top slot in this export category that constitutes one of the fastest growing industries in the world today: terrorism.

Pakistan is widely acknowledged to be the world's biggest and most efficient exporter of terrorism, a fact known only too well by India which constitutes one of the largest captive markets for Islamabad's main product line. Through aggressive marketing, aimed mainly at the US, Pakistan has turned a dangerous liability into a lucrative asset which helps to keep an otherwise bankrupt economy afloat. ……………………

Mumbai terror attack: LeT's Tahawwur Rana confirms Pak govt, ISI's 26/11 role
In a crucial disclosure that confirms the direct role of Pakistani state actors in the 26/11 conspiracy, arrested LeT operative Tahawwur Hussain Rana has told a US court that he had provided material support for the attacks "at the behest of the Pakistani government and the ISI, and not the LeT". Rana, along with US citizen David Headley , had allegedly prepared the ground for the Mumbai carnage.
Accused in India massacre claims ties to Pakistani secret service
India-Pakistan tensions will likely be inflamed by a trial that’s slated to begin in the United States next month: New court documents reveal that two terrorist operatives accused in the 2008 Mumbai massacre conspiracy are preparing to say they believed themselves to be working for Pakistani spies.

On May 16 in Chicago, Pakistani-Canadian Tahawwur Hussain Rana is to go on trial for allegedly providing terrorist scouts with the false credentials they used to pick targets in India’s largest city. Months after the surveillance operation was executed, Pakistani gunmen stormed luxury hotels, train stations and a Jewish centre, killing more than 160 civilians.

The rampage threatened to set two nuclear-armed neighbours on the path to war, until Pakistan – backed by U.S. intelligence officials – rushed to assure India that the attacks were not state-sponsored. A year later, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in Illinois arrested Mr. Rana and his long-time friend David Coleman Headley – and accused the two Pakistani expatriates in their 50s of doing surveillance on behalf of a terrorist group.

Lashkar-e-Taiba, or LeT, is blamed for the Mumbai massacre, though Indian officials suspect the jihadists did not operate alone. Pakistan’s spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence directorate, or ISI, is notorious for rogue elements and double games – and it has long cultivated ties with militant Islamist groups such as LeT to create buffers.

Mr. Rana’s trial threatens to lend an aura of credence to the suspicions of ISI complicity. According to court documents, the jury will hear the two Chicago conspirators say they believed themselves to be working for both LeT and the ISI.

Previously secret testimony heard only by a grand jury is referred to in a decision published earlier this month.

“I also told him [Mr. Rana] … how I had been asked to perform espionage work for ISI,” Mr. Headley, a Pakistani-American, testified to the grand jury.

Though cryptic, the statement is highly significant.

Having turned FBI informer in a bid to escape the death penalty, Mr. Headley will reveal the blow-by-blow of the Mumbai massacre surveillance scheme when he gives evidence against Mr. Rana.

That testimony should include the specifics on how Mr. Headley anglicized his Pakistani name, cultivated ties with LeT, videotaped sites in Mumbai, and briefed his handlers in Pakistan in the run-up to the carnage.

Speaking about how he entered India under a “false flag” to scout out targets, Mr. Headley told the grand jury that “I told [Mr. Rana] about my assignment to conduct surveillance in Mumbai. … I explained to him that the immigration office would provide a cover story for why I was in Mumbai.”

Though Mr. Rana is a Canadian citizen, for years he has been the proprietor of First World Immigration Services, a consultancy based in a South Asian enclave of Chicago.

Mr. Rana has been struggling to explain away allegations that he gave Mr. Headley the papers that allowed him to pose as an immigration consultant. According to recent filings, Mr. Rana argues he is a Pakistani patriot who was led to believe the ISI wanted his help – and therefore he should get the equivalent of diplomatic immunity.

On April 1, Judge Harry Leinenweber ruled that that defence to be “objectively unreasonable.”

“Defendant's proposed defence is that his alleged illegal acts of providing material support to terrorists – at least those related to the Mumbai attacks – were done at the behest of the Pakistani government and the ISI, not the Lashkar terrorist organization,” reads the decision. “He argues that he is entitled to a public-authority defence because he acted under the authority – whether actual or apparent – of the Pakistani government and the ISI.”

Prosecutors also say they caught Mr. Rana and Mr. Headley on tape after the Mumbai attacks, discussing a plot to kill a Danish cartoonist who had lampooned the Prophet Mohammed.

I doubt that this is news to the pappi-jhapphiers. They would do pappi-jhapphi (P-J) regardless. It is good for business for some.

Now this one chankian move that should be supported. Of course, it won’t happen, but since it is the season of pappi-jhappi, here it goes. :)

As of last year, thousands of seats in engineering colleges across various states especially TN, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are vacant. This student exchange should only involve girls who have completed non-madrassa Std. XII or equivalent and are ready to pay a small fee for such education. The life of such students would be much better in any place in India than in Pakistan, where they could be held wajib-al-katl any moment and killed. Once they have completed their education in India and experienced the way of life, their chances of return to Pakistan would be negligible. As for the "vice-versa" part, no Indian parents would send their daughters to Pakistan. The Pakislamists as such view women as objects of achieving maximum numbers and this would cause a massive blow to their H&D. In fact, for feeling cultural affinity, the region around Hyderabad, AP is most suitable. As such, as per this news article, “something really positive” is to be done. Now, what could be more positive than empowering people by providing them education? MMS-Gilani sahab, aage badho, student exchange ishtart karo.

^^^
The IPL was also hosted abroad in its second season, when the tournament was shifted to South Africa after security concerns arising from the Mumbai attacks in December 2008 meant it could not be staged in India. Rana was confident Pakistan's board could do something similar.
This Madr-e-ch*d paki is deliberately twisting facts here and trying to do an == with India.

IPL venue was shifted not because of "security concerns" arising out of 26/11, but infact due to the countrywide General Elections for Lok Sabha.

This PaPpi Le indeed is a very good idea. ICC should encourage them (no players, moral onlee). Once done then pakis are trapped. You know what I mean. IPL will be immune to paki players. Its never be as lucrative as IPL. Pakis won't be able to participate in IPL, and if they do then big H&D loss to PaPpi Le Chakravyuha awaiting. hahaha :)

I think Pasha packed and ran when he heard Rana's confession..he obviously could'nt and did'nt give any stern message to US. He came planning for a longer visit. Nothing in between has happened except Rana's confession that the planners in Chief of Mumbai Massacre is the Pasha and Kiyani duo and not Hafeez Saeed who's just a 3rd rate filthy pawn down the chain. Psychoanalysts in the CIA should analyse and understand this guy knows he's guilty as hell along with Kiyani and could face lethal injection if the trial in the US in the US runs it's natural course. Hence the midnight dash back to Porkistan.

@harbans: It is the Indian media playing the hype. US is not serious about the confesions. They have already played it down assuming the intention is probably to shift the trial out of US.
No harm will come to ISI or PA from the US. Pasha has nothing to afraid of.

I liked the incensed reaction of Ms. Christine Fair on the Times Now channel last night. Forget about whether the interviewer was suave or not etc. Ms. Fair made it absolutely and unambiguously clear to all of us that the American interests need Pakistan and take priority over anything else. She is right and the American stand is perfectly understandable.

There is absolutely no coverage in massa domestic media on these developments - despite the fact that Americans were killed.
