CRPF kills top Naxal leader Shashadhar Mahato
Kolkata: A top Naxal leader has been killed in a gunbattle with the Central Reserve Police Force in West Bengal on Thursday. The Naxal leader, identified as Shashadhar Mahato, was killed in the gunfight at Kapgari village in Binpur police station area of West Midnapore in West Bengal.

Mahato was the second-in-command to Koteswar Rao alias Kishenji, the topmost Naxal leader in West Bengal. Mahato was the elder brother of arrested Naxal-backed People's Committee against Police Atrocities (PCPA) leader Chhatradhar Mahato.

The CRPF recovered one AK-47 from the site and a massive search operation has been launched to track down the other Naxals accompanying Mahato. Officials suspect that several other Naxals, too, have been either injured or killed in the gunbattle.

Mahato is also suspected to be behind major Naxal attacks in Purulia, Bankura and West Midnapore districts and has been linked to the Gyaneshwari Exprtess train accident in which at least 149 people were killed.

He is also considered to the mastermind behind the attack on a Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) camp at Silda in West Midnapore district in which 24 security personnel were killed.

A state committee member and spokesperson of the Bihar-Jharkhand-Orissa regional committee of the Naxal, mahato carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head.

He was also responsible for organising and mobilising youth in West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts of West Bengal.

A HUGE success for CRPF who have finally turned the corner in the fight against the naxals and a kill at that because arrests can get real messy with civil activists demanding a fair trial and calling him an angel for the tribals, not to mention a spate of Naxal kidnappings in an attempt to free him. Nothing beats the morale of these pigs than to see their 2IC hunted by the forces.

30 Naxals gunned down in Chhattisgarh, claim police
Police on Monday claimed to have gunned down 30 Naxals in a fierce encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district after an ambush by the extremists left three policemen dead and nine others injured.

Additional Director General (Naxal operations) Ram Niwas said that a police team of 145 jawans was on a search operation in the Chintalnaar area, when the Naxals struck.

“In the ambush by the Naxals, three of our men were killed and nine were injured,” said Niwas. The police believed “to have killed 30 Naxals” in retaliatory action.“Firing has stopped. We are now looking for bodies,” Niwas added.

^^^How soon before realization dawns amongst the security forces that 'arresting' important naxals only leads to more kidnap-hostage scenarios and subsequent gubmint give-ins only?

We still do not know much about their org structure and folks that matter in terms of ops capability. Till the orbat is figured out for a major part, we will have to keep arresting these turds and eliciting info to fill in the blanks. We are getting there slowly and surely. Soon enough, we should be seeing quite a few intel-driven ops taking out critical nodes. This is the next stage for this conflict. Till then, we can't but be patient and grin & bear it.

States reject anti-Naxal panel names

TIMES NEWS NETWORK

New Delhi: Four states, which recently set up unified commands to coordinate anti-Naxal operations, have rejected the Centre’s list of retired Army major generals who were supposed to be appointed as members in those commands and decided to instead place retired senior cops who are familiar with the terrain and ground situation.

These four states include West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Jharkhand; all with non-Congress/non-UPA governments.

The decision to set up unified commands, headed by chief secretary of each respective state, in these Naxalaffected states was taken during a meeting of chief ministers of Naxal-affected states in July last year.

At the meeting, called for devising a coordinated strategy to tackle the Maoists, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, however, felt there was no immediate need for such a command. Currently, militancy-hit Jammu & Kashmir and Assam have unified command structures that include the Army.

In the mean while The Hindu has a report on an anti-naxalite operation and the sufferings it caused to the villagers/tribals. Read it in detail. Hindu reporters seems to have access to all bye-lanes in the forest and also naxalite folks do meet them up regularly and give the briefings.

PS: BTW, the Chattishgarh Police have a commando team named "Koya" ;), which consists of surrendered naxals and informers.

"koya" in telugu is used for tribal people. Chattisgarh & orissa tribal areas border Andhra Pradesh and have a decent amount of telugu speaking areas.

Now the Malkangiri collector is accused by the BJP of being a closet-maoist sympathizer. Seems like he was a member of AISF (student wing of CPI) and his family members are communists. Wonderful if it is all a well-framed affair.

SC wants HC judge to probe attack on Swami Agnivesh by Salwa Judum
The Supreme Court on Wednesday took a critical view of social activist Swami Agnivesh being violently chased away by alleged Salwa Judum activists.
Notice how the word alleged has been dropped from the Headline.
The petition had been filed by sociologist Nandini Sundar, historian Ramchandra Guha, former bureaucrat E A S Sarma and others seeking a direction to the state government to refrain from allegedly supporting Salwa Judum, according to PTI.
Isn't Nalini Sundar the wife of Sidarth Vardarajan of the Hindu, joining ranks with the eminient Historian are joinin the Maoists while they keep mum on maoist attrocities- especially killing of Tribals and collecting Hafta which goes unreported.

I think Illina Sen has unexpectedly revealed that is the Great LIberal Western Democracies who are really behind these guys.

Binayak Sen harboured hardcore naxals, arranged jobs: Chhattisgarh govt
The state government said that for the hardcore naxalites, he arranged safe hideouts by arranging houses on rent, helped them open bank accounts and in getting employment under concealed identity and provided employment by incorporating trusts.
The entire gambit which has been fighting for him the Media, NGO and "GREAT WESTERN DEMOCRACIES. i.e EU Obersevors should be probed for thier involvement in Naxalism.

Well yes, lets see what the SC finally deceides, Intresting comments from TOI link

SC grants bail to Binayak Sen, drops sedition charges against him
Supreme Court has legitimised itself by moving in the direction of justice. But how about several others, charged under UAPA, still awaiting justice? How about the rights of Narayan Sanyal and Piyush Guha? If someone, indeed, is a Maoist, does it mean that s/he forfeits her/his rights?
SO do Maoists be the only ones with rights and not people at the receiving end of Maoists and thier threats.

I still dont get why so called starving Tribals get money to acquire weapons, communication gear, miltary tactics training to blow up schools and Hospitals.

Does this mean If the rest of us don't like people of a certain political ideology we can bump them off.

Did they say anything about his being a messenger for the imprisoned maoists, and providing cover to maoists on the run? Those would be the more serious charges.

Extremely sad day for Indian judiciary since it caved in to the pressure appiled by European Union to release convicted maoists. I hope maoists rise in europe too and these "EU observers" will live to see their children ripped apart in bomb blasts by maoists, then India can send observers to protest the innocence of the bombers and their helpers.

Now that the supreme court has given free hand to maoists to indulge in wanton murder and waging war against the government there will surely be a marked increase in deaths of innocent civilians for which ultimately justices H S Bedi and C K Prasad should be held responsible.

And the dimwit law minister moily is speaking about scrapping the law on sedition. If that happens then Chhattisgarh should immediately secede from the Indian Union, no need to live under the rule of these senile law minister and criminal friendly supreme court judges who cant punish traitors and instead encourages and helps them.

regarding media coverage Vikram Chandra on the terrorist pandering UndieTv is hailing this as a victory of justice, during 26/11 these commie swines acted as eyes and ears of terrorists handlers by beaming live the counter-terrorist operations and now these swines are openly eulogising these ******** maoists, the victims of Gyaneshwari train attack are nowhere mentioned by these money hungry dogs in the media calling themselves journalists. Hundred death of civilians are forgotten while the release of terrorist is celebrated like some festival by these commie swines, hope UndieTv and people working for this channel die a brutal death at the hands of maoists. Hope their children are chopped in pieces and eaten like maoists have done in Orissa. Hope to see the day when children of vikram chandra are eaten and burkha dutt asks him for comment. Instead of actively fighting these maoists these commie swines in UndieTV are actively encouraging them. If there is a Tv channel that needs to banned this is it.

Some of the supreme court judges are more interested in increasing their bank balance like the recent exposure of K G balakrishnan and his illgotten wealth has revealed. Maoists with their drug trade network have black money running into crores of rupees which is being used to influence such judgements. And when the law minister moily talks about scrapping a law which is needed to protect the nation against traitors, just to let binayak maoist sen escape his crime, then it shows that for the right price even the law minister is ready to sell himself to traitors.

The state of Indian judiciary 'system' is bizarre. The meaning of the "Hon'ble" SC's judjement is that ,even if someone who is a sympathiser to your biggest and top priority threat, you remain as dull and stupid as possible , until his sympathy pours out and he turns a real Geelani . You have to wait until that day and no active prevention in your defence is permissible ,because during the proceedings or before that his/her actions had not caused any economic concern and damages..
Andha and absurd decision indeed . God save those who live nearby or in the areas of these red maniacs, as ,it seems these maniacs have got a blessing of our judiciary and historically and particularly of those intellectuals who have turned rabid and antinationals .

At war, one acts upon the enemy in self defence at the tiniest hint of attack he gets. Because of Indian babudom that seems not possible .

I dont want to whine but there needs to be a public complaint system against the judges as well , in some other lokpal type bill .

This channel had caused more real losses to this nation that any other media, remember Kargil,Gujarat,,??
99.99% people on that group are seriously involved in antinational activities that could be seen daily through naked eyes and through their phone tapping.
Since there seems to be no preventive law system in India , this cancer will grow, and their actions will not be scrunitinized because we do not scrutinize air which let itself be breathed by the terrorists in mumbai on that day., we do not scrunize mr kalashnikov as he made the first ak47 based upon which a version was used to kill innocents in many wars.. These pseudoseculars and commie ba$%$% seem to have got that kind of immunity from scrutiny and the law of the land nowadays.

UPA had let loose these dogs on the Indian people so that they keep suffering and remain fearful and troubled, because of these dogs .. 2G family and congress Inc. rules the land . :x

Binayak Sen gets bail; escapes sedition charge
April 16, 2011 1:27:18 AM

IANS | New Delhi

The Supreme Court Friday granted bail to human rights activist Binayak Sen, who is undergoing life imprisonment in a Chhattisgarh jail on charges of sedition and links with Maoists.

No case for sedition was made out against Sen, the apex court bench of Justice H.S. Bedi and Justice C.K. Prasad said while making a scathing observation that a person does not become a Gandhian just because he is found with a biography of Mahatma Gandhi.

The bench said the bail would be subject to the satisfaction of the trial court. The court ridiculed the state's submission that Sen was actively involved in spreading disharmony and disaffection against the state.

The court said that even if the state government's contention that Sen was in the possession of banned material and was involved in its circulation was true, it did not justify the charge of sedition. Mocking at the contention of the state government, the court said that if a biography of Mahatma Gandhi is recovered from a person that did not make him a Gandhian.

Sen, 61, at present in a jail in the Chhattisgarh capital Raipur, had challenged the Feb 10 order of the Chhattisgarh High Court rejecting his bail plea.

He was sentenced by the trial court Dec 24, 2010, for sedition. He was accused of acting as a courier between Maoist ideologue Narayan Sanyal and Kolkata-based businessman Piyush Guha, both of whom have also been jailed for life.

The state government, in its reply to Sen's petition in the high court, said he "has the same ideology as that of CPI-Maoist (Communist Party of India-Maoist) and he is addressed as a comrade by hardcore Naxalites (Maoists)".

"He provides active support and co-ordinates in spreading the base of CPI-Maoist in the country. For hardcore Naxalites, he arranges safe hideouts by arranging house on rent, helps open bank account, helps in getting employment to conceal identity and provides employment by incorporating trusts."

The Chhattisgarh government claimed Sen was helping the Maoists in building "urban network and sympathisers".

As we all know Hazare is now spearheading a campaign against corruption in high places...but the camp that is running scared is the rapist goon mass murderer camp...reasons are not hard to fathom

Traditionally, every 'good' cause is taken over, subverted and controlled by the Marxist/Maoist mass murderer/rapist goon cabal, through their fake intellectual brigade and their yellow media puppets. You cannot be an environmentalist, womens right activist or social activist without serving the cause of mass murderers and pleasing their top leadership and dancing to their tunes. You can support Maoists provided you do so outside Bengal. Offend them or their patron saints and paymasters, all hell would break loose. Yellow puppets will sarcastically refer to you as 'do-gooders' and stop covering your activities and stop calling you 'intellectual'

But here is a movement that neither the rapist goons manage, nor control nor subvert. That is rankling them. More importantly the fake-intellectuals and yellow journalist puppets have been exposed for not failing to highlight and lead, but sometimes even being part of the problem

Hence a savage campaign of lies and smear has been launched, once again employing fake intellectual puppets and yellow journalists. Yellow daily already has extensively quoted some intellectual puppet's comment against 'blackmail' by Hazare and has followed up with a opinion piece against 'right wingers'. One wonders what they have against Ramdev. Having failed in defaming him by planting false evidence, the rapist goons, mass murderers and traitors are out to destroy him again. Ramdev is a big risk because he can mobilise the masses and can nurture faith and spirituality which the rapist goons see as a direct threat to their violent agenda to grab power and hand it over to Beijing. Being from backward classes they cannot also directly attack him beyond a point unlike Shankaracharya and Sri Sri Ravisankar. That makes them s..t scared of him.

Hence it is important that Hazare and his movement survives and prospers because that would drive one more large nail into the coffin of Stalinist mass murderers and rapist goons and their puppets. It can change India without benefiting the Beijing puppets and their treacherous agendas.

^^^The Anna Hazare campaign over-reached itself, especially by the good Anna's derogatory comments on democracy itself...One cannot save democracy by denouncing it! Some of the other stuff - Narendra Modi, Baba Ramdev, Sri Sri Ravishankar et al - is just posturing on predictable lines by each group, less relevant...

On Binayak Sen, this is some more of what SC said..
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/indi ... 995786.cms
Is the nature of evidence such that it could attract a conviction and life sentence? We are a democratic country. We must draw a line. He might be a sympathizer. But it does not amount to sedition. We are going on admitted facts as per prosecution case. Does it connect him with Naxalite violence? Does it mean he has committed sedition?"
Not much has changed materially though, barrign the fact that Binayak Sen will be "freed" (under suitable conditions)...The High Court will hear the appeal and decide as per the merits...But SC seems to have articulated pretty much similar comments to what was being done post conviction - whether it constitutes sedition, and whether it convicts Dr Sen of naxal violence, or abatement of the same..

Courts cant fight a war being raised against India by those who are no longer Indians and those who sympathize with them(no longer Indians as well).!

Is that not sedition???.Where's commonsense gone???

We are fighting with a wrong tool , thats why toll is increasing.

How dare the Government Tribals into the Police force?? In false case of Police custodian death in SC, 2 Policemen died in a premedidated Ambush by Naxals why in the process of producing the so called dead person.

THe Naxals seem to have a lot of Money for well oiled lawyers in the SUpreme Court and they do not have to bother about any Rule or Law. Law enforcing agencies are really fighting this war with one hand tied behind thier back.

THe Naxals seem to have a lot of Money for well oiled lawyers in the SUpreme Court and they do not have to bother about any Rule or Law. Law enforcing agencies are really fighting this war with one hand tied behind thier back
SC isnt commenting on tribals in the police, it is referring to vigilante militias like Salwa Judum...

these guys are poorly paid, poorly trained, armed with lethal weapons and operate under grey provisions of law - a deadly cocktail...Setting up such militias are a copout action of a state unable to setup adequate capacities to tackle insurgency...Unfortunately, a deadly copout at that...

Salwa Judum is qualitatively different from auxiliary forces that have been setup elsewhere - VDCs in Punjab and J&K, or the SOG in J&K...In the case of C'garh, we have only had forced settler colonies of tribals setup, and a few chaps among them given out weapons...It has only made these colonies ripe targets for Maoists, and triggered off an action-reaction sequence that often has the potential of spinning out into a mini-civil war...

The Indian state cannot be fighting the political battle against Maoists by getting tribals fighting tribals in an internecine conflict...The fight can only be fought by the state building up enough capacities to do so...Which is precisely professionals baulk at such attempts just as much, if not mroe than the left liberalati...As AP has shown, you need to build up policing capacities to tackle Maoism, not Salwa judum...

Somnath, again look at the Link which Gerard talked about, its got nothing to do with Sulwa Judum
The Supreme Court on Monday questioned the legality of recruitment of tribals as Special Police Officers (SPOs) in the anti-naxal operations terming it as a policy to divide the locals and arm one against the other without accountability.

A Bench of Justices B Sudershan Reddy and S S Nijjar said: "Just because the tribal youth knew the local language and terrain, how could you recruit them and arm them with sophisticated rifles? This is dividing people and arming one against the other. We would like to know the Union government's stand on this issue."
Its talking about recruiting people in the Police Force?

Again SC should look into murder charges against those who file false cases against cops killing people who are alive and cordinated Naxal attacks happen when due process in being followed when trying to produce them before the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court should also probe cases on How Maoists killed 75 CRPF, detailing Beheadings etc, which sections of law they violated, who gave them arms and training etc...
