more likely a civilian intel op to involve/implicate the Military. Sort of like our own reverse Dreyfuss case.

Its an extension of the old Lord Curzon angst against Lord Kitchner.

When will India stop fighting British bureaucratic tussles?

Note all accusers are civilian intel folks. And lot of trial by innuendo. As a serving officer Purohit should be tried by Military court.

Stuck in Adharsh scam the military brass is unable to see the forest for the weeds.

Even Adharsh scam is also a way to get the military into bad light. And its unfortunate some of the officers in Southern Command didnt see the big picture.

Well known personality in BR,Shri. T "fatman" Nazir, gets to enjoy jail hospitality for his entire lifetime with a triple life sentence:
Kozhikode twin blast case: Triple life term for Nazir
Kochi, Friday, August 12, 2011: Thadiyantavida Nazir, the first accused in Kozhikode twin blast case was sentenced a triple life imprisonment by the Ernakulam NIA court here on Friday. The fourth accused, Shafaz was sentenced a double life imprisonment.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 100, 000 on each of them. Third accused Halim and ninth accused Yusuf were set free by the court.

The Court had on Thursday convicted the first accused Thadiyantavida Nazir and fourth accused Shafaz in the case.

The Kozhikode blasts have taken place on 3rd March, 2006 in two bus stands of the city. Two policemen and a porter were injured in the blasts.

A breakthrough in the Kozhikode blast case came after Abdul Sattar alias E T Zainuddin, an electronics engineer and a native of Malappuram who is based in Hyderabad, was arrested in January 2008 on charges of making the timer-fitted bombs which were used in the Bangalore blasts of July 2008.

He exposed LeT operative Thadiyentvida Nazir’s role in the Kozhikode blasts which is believed to have been carried out as a curtain- raiser for the Bangalore blasts. Meanwhile, Abdul Halim, another accused who was arrested by the police, confessed that the blast was planned by Nazir.
Thankfully, some of our present SC judges didnt take this case and give us some gyaan on liberalism etc..

During the several rounds of interrogation, Purohit did not reveal any information on the Samjhauta Express blasts or the Malegaon blasts. The ATS could not extract anything out of him during his narco analysis
Most important:
But there are several missing links. According to the interrogation report, soon after the 2008 Malegaon blasts, Purohit met Pragya, a history postgraduate with links to several BJP and Sangh parivar leaders, at her Jabalpur ashram, where he reportedly boasted that he was responsible for the blast. However, she told him that it was her men who did it and showed him two rail tickets as proof. Purohit’s lawyer could latch on to this statement to plead his client’s innocence. During the several rounds of interrogation, Purohit did not reveal any information on the Samjhauta Express blasts or the Malegaon blasts. The ATS could not extract anything out of him during his narco analysis.
MI folks are really dedicated and I guess they are trained that way. Even his wife does not know.
However, Aparna believes that her husband joined the Sanghatana with honest intentions. “Purohit was a member of the Sanghatana, but that was solely to motivate and encourage the youth. This cannot be used as evidence against him,” she said.
Here is important revelation from the investigation report:
Said Gokhale: “Colonel Purohit is being tried for the charge of stealing RDX from a seizure during his posting in J&K in the criminal court and thus cannot be tried in the AFT. Anyway, we have completely denied the charge and out of 71 Army officers who deposed before the court, about 57 supported Purohit.
Whether Purohit is culprit or not, Indians need to be proud of the org called MI.
In Ujjain, he told Pragya that the bomb used for the 2008 Malegaon blast was planted in her motorcycle and that he had erased its chassis number. Though she had sold it to RSS pracharak, Sunil Joshi, investigators later found that it belonged to the sanyasin. Unlike the firebrand nun, Purohit has not left behind any footprints, except for a few conversations that don’t substantiate any evidence, and witnesses to nail him.
As I said several times this whole this is a sleeper cell busting operation created outside the law enforcement arena. UPA used it for politics.

Love to quote this post from the past :)

Politicsparty site is saying a terror attack that will claim thousands is anticipated. And that the INC is rejecting Afzal Guru's petition to get ready to defend itself against charges that is sympathetic to terrorists if the attack is successful.

No, my first two sentences were sincere. Based on reports posted here - both could not be speaking the "truth" at the same time. If the army has denied such assignments, it is Purohit who has lied. No muck on the army.

I have always posted about every org which has survived long enough to have been penetrated by rashtryia undercover agents. Sometimes they would be given the task of egging on members in the org - to do outrages/atrocities that would come in handy for whichever political master has seized power of the day. This is the solid British tradition. I dont expect much worse from their successors.

It would be a very poor intelligence operative indeed that would not see the bigger political machinations and implications of what he has been set to do. If "atrocity" was planned to be pinned on "saffron" then the order could not have come from anyone else but the political grouping opposed to "saffron", and hence "civilian" ATS knew exactly whom or where to look for.

On the other hand, in a region where D-company seems to operate invisibly and easily - the same logic would imply equal penetration of D-company from rashtryia side. As a criminal network involved in much wider violence/gun-running/organized crime and transnational linkages with the enemy military, MI would be expected to penetrate that "company" first before looking at small-fry like Abhinav Bharat. Or that is what one would expect rationally.

What the accused were doing would be against the interests of D-company and our much hoped for aman-walla long-lost brothers, hence would it not be in their interest to see to it that this possible covert op that could be used against D-company interests with plausible deniability - gets quashed in its infancy? Ideologically immune groups opposed to Paki and D-company interests are dangerous - all else can be bought, with fear, money, political position, and sophistry of WKK-ism. Shall we focus in the future on whether the investigating agencies are themselves penetrated or not - especially in the region concerned, and by interests inimical to India ?

How can such "pre-emptive" swoops be onlee made on supposed "terror" outfits who are not Islamists - and never ever on Jihadis - for whom it is always, always an explanation after the deed is done?

Centre on Friday expressed concern over Gujarat government's action against two senior IPS men locked in a confrontation with it over the post-Godhra riots and said it can intervene if the affected officers want so.
"It is a matter of concern," Home Minister P. Chidambaram told reporters at the GoM media briefing when asked whether the Centre was concerned with the tug of war between the police officers of Gujarat and the state government over the 2002 riots.
Asked whether the Centre can intervene to resolve the crisis, the Home Minister said: "Rules do provide for central government to take certain decisions at certain stages but that stage has to be invoked by officer concerned. If officer concerned invokes the rule, certainly we will look into it."
Proves two points.

1. Chidu is pushing the envelop at little further.
2. There was a debate between Somnath and Brihaspatiji on whether civil services are under central influence or not.

What I had said was that if the officers wanted they could always "escape" - and the larger network with "centre" would help out.

Yep, that is exactly what is happening. The center is giving clues to all the babudom. Be loyal to us, we can either do what we did to those 10+ IPS officers or what we offer to do now.

That is why I said (in 2G/AH) thread that the 2nd india (babudom) must be made loyal to Bharat to defeat the first india (2G group).

X-post about the vengeance being used by INC:
sum wrote:Some of PCs kaarnama here. Read it all:
S Gurumurthy narrats how Amit Shah has been fixed by fabrication
The climax of the CBI story is how it smuggled Amit Shah into the Sohrabuddin case. Here is a brief, simple account of the complex episode. There are two chargesheets in the case; one by Gujarat CID (July 2007) in which AP Police figured as co-conspirators; the other by CBI [July 2010], which has scored out AP police as accused and inserted Amit Shah instead. The Congress-led AP and the BJP–led Rajasthan and Gujarat had jointly chased Sohrabuddin with the common motive of fighting terror. But with AP Police absolved and the encounter made an all-BJP affair, the motive of the encounter too had to be changed. Or is it vice versa? Anyway, if fight against crime and terror were the motive, Amit Shah and BJP would be seen as fighting terror; the Congress as supporting it. That would be deadly for the Congress in Gujarat. So, the CBI had to invent some ignoble motive for the encounter – to depict Amit Shah more as corrupt, and less as fighting terror. See how the CBI innovates, actually fabricates.
The CBI chargesheet therefore understandably accused Amit Shah and Gujarat Police thus: that they were running an extortion racket, even using Sohrabuddin for its extortion business; (Para 4&5) that Shah got Sohrabuddin to fire at the business premises of “Popular Builders” owned by two brothers, Raman Patel and Dasarath Patel, on 8.12.2004, to have a case registered against Sohrabuddin as accused, to justify killing him in encounter later and use his encounter to threaten others and extort; (Para 4,5&9) that, for the purpose, Shah directed Patels to name Sohrabuddin as accused in Popular Builders case, threatening them with “dire consequences”, if they did not. (Para 4&10)
Note the dates. Firing at Popular Builders took place on 8.12.2004; Sohrabuddin was killed on 26.11.2005; Shah threatened Patels on 16.12.2005. Now analyse. The CBI says that in December 2004 – note 2004 – Shah wanted Sohrabuddin as accused in Popular Builders case to justify killing him later. In the same breath, it says that Shah threatened Patels a year later, in December 2005 – note 2005 – to name Sohrabuddin as accused in Popular Builders case! Sohrabuddin became suspect in Popular Builders firing for the first time in December 2005 – that is, after his death, not in 2004.
This single fact shreds the CBI innovation that Shah got Sohrabuddin to fire to have a case registered against him in 2004, to justify killing him later. Did the CBI make the silly mistake of reading December 2005 as December 2004? Or, is it a crude fabrication? Or both? Read on.
The stupid story that Shah had planned the firing incident is proved bogus by the facts of Popular Builders case. The case was in cold storage for eight months, not knowing who the accused was! If Shah got the firing got done specifically to make Sohrabuddin accused, how could the case languish in search of an accused for eight months? See further. In June 2005, Rajasthan police informed Gujarat police, in normal exchange of clues, that Sohrabudin’s associates, questioned in another case, had confessed to their involvement in some firing at Ahmedabad in 2004. Yet, even on 5.8.2005, the case file read “undetected”, meaning no suspects found! When Tulsi Prajapathi and Sylvester, Sohrabuddin’s sharp shooters, were brought to Gujarat from Rajasthan in December 2005, they confessed that they had fired at Popular Builders at Sohrabuddin’s behest. The Gujarat police also found that before and after the firing – that is 7th and 9th December 2004 – Sohrabuddin had called Patels from his cell phone. Knowing that Sohrabuddin had ordered the firing to threaten Patels to pay up his dues, the Gujarat Police questioned Patels, on December 15/16 2005; but they persistently suppressed their links with Sohrabuddin, forcing the police to add them as accused. These irrefutable facts reduce the CBI story – that Shah got Sohrabuddin to fire in 2004 to make Sohrabuddin accused then itself to justify killing Sohrabuddin later – into bizarre and absurd fabrication.
Come to extortion as the motive for the encounter. It is based on Patels’ evidence. Here is a one-line profile of Patels. They are realtors – read land mafia – caught in land-related criminal cases. The interest of Patels waiting to hit at Gujarat government, and of the CBI eager to fix it, had become common. Patels testified that, to avoid arrest in some other case, they had paid Shah Rs 70 lakhs, in three instalments on specific dates, through Ajay Patel, Shah’s friend. But, as noticed in the high court anticipatory bail order of Ajay Patel, his passport showed that, on the date of the second payment claimed, he was in Singapore, which meant that Patels were indeed lying.
Patels also rendered a strange help the CBI by doing four bizarre sting operations on the unwary Ajay Patel and another friend of Shah; Patels gave the sting CDs running several hours to CBI. Yet, surprisingly, in the stings, Patels didn’t even hint about either Shah’s threat or the payment. In contrast, stings show Patels complimenting Ajay Patel for never indulging in any “money talk”! Anyway, if the threat and payment were true, Patels would have fixed Shah’s friends on both issues in the sting. But, they did not dare do it.
What’s the inference? Both charges are false. The CBI had intentionally made the accused in Popular Builders case, hardened criminals, as its witnesses in Sohrabuddin case, Patels being the star witnesses, to support CBI’s (bogus) story that the motive for Sohrabuddin’s murder was extortion. As part of this strategy, the CBI has planned to take over the Popular Builders case, reinvestigate it based on the (fake) theory that it was Shah who got the firing done, and absolve all accused in that case. Was it not this lollypop that made Patels and other accused to tell lies to support CBI’s bogus charges? Alas, with the CBI story that Shah himself had planned Popular Builders firing proving to be hoax, their testimonies against Shah are fit only for shredder. The fabricated case against Amit Shah is of course good enough to arrest him and disturb the best-governed and most prosperous state in the country.

UPA trying to destabilise my govt: Modi tells PM
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday shot off a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, complaining against Home Minister P Chidambaram's comment on the issue of IPS officers, alleging that the United Progressive Alliance government was trying to destabilise his government.

"The Congress-led UPA government is trying to destabilise the democratically elected government of the state of Gujarat," Modi said in the letter written to the prime minister.

"Home Minister's (P Chidambaram) comments made yesterday were aimed at promoting indiscipline in the police force of the state," Modi said.
"The relationship and power structure between the Centre and the state have been clearly demarcated, which are being violated by such statements. Such blatant remarks by the home minister will create deep crisis in the federal fabric of the nation," Modi said in the letter.

"Apart from the home minister, many other ministers have also commented on issues on similar lines," he pointed out.
INC is playing a very tricky game here which could bite it in future if it is not in power at centre and NDA/non-INC is in power to instigate IPS revolts in opposition ruled states.

Wonder why the same media didn't deem it fit to fight for the jailed senior Mah IPS officer who was jailed for videotaping the meeting of Ahmed Patel, Hasan Ali etc who were discussing who to appoint next commissioner of Mumbai?IPS officer tinkered with Hasan Ali’s CD
In the tape, Hasan Ali has bragged about his proximity to Maharashtra politicians and claimed that IPS officer Hasan Gafoor’s appointment as Mumbai CP was decided during a meeting of then Maharashtra CM Vilasrao Deshmukh with senior AICC leader Ahmed Patel at Juhu Centaur, which was attended by Home Minister R R Patil.

Ali was arrested by Worli police in 2008 for possessing two passports at a time. He was also facing investigation from the Enforcement Directorate for allegedly amassing huge wealth and tax evasion. In a taped interrogation, Deshbhratar, who was DCP zone 3 in Mumbai, then grilled Hasan Ali on all such issues for which he had been in news for the past few months.

Hasan Ali’s wild claims on tape caught state politicians off guard, following which Patil instituted a CID inquiry. On Monday, state CID chief SPS Yadav presented an interim report to the government and briefed top political functionaries and state police officials.
Also, interesting that not one media house has even mentioned Mah CM in the Pune firing case. Now, just imagine if the state was Gujarat instead of Mah. What would the headline and theme on all channels have been? ( Hint: certain words like fascist would be freely used)

a India-Today Nielsen poll discussed on TV yesterday brought lots of bad news for the INC, except for WB where Mamata currently holds a huge advantage 85:15 over the communists.

but the interesting part was Yuvraj get a 20% approval for PM , while Mukhauta has slid to 11% (down from 16% a year ago), his reputation tarnished by the fact of turning a blind eye to corruption. among non-UPA, NaMo had the highest approval ratings, but even pro-BJP panelists agreed it was a huge risk to project him as a PM candidate, and the BJP having no other credible leader at central level, even the route of projecting nitish kumar might have to be considered.

so imo the INC plan to install the Yuvraj in the gaddi is succeeding brilliantly:

[a] Yuvraj accepts no formal accountable role, but the media just projects that nice smile and shaking of hands with the commoners as he tours the land. Mukhauta soaks up all the blame and acts of ommision. the absense of Rajmata this time is being deftly used to project his unfurling the national flag at INC HQ as a coming of age of chandragupta maurya who is ready for the throne of pataliputra,,,,,,I am sure all friendly channels will carry a live telecast.

his greatest threat NaMo has been consistently attacked for 10 yrs and even the BJP lead to believe his candidacy is unworkable and unacceptable to many people who would otherwise vote for the BJP or for some third-party and these would support the sikular INC in response instead.

the nearest analogue to a truly unqualified and unproven person ascending to a position of such power could be ronald reagan ? but even he had a successful career as a B-movie actor before stepping into politics. Arnie had a film and realty career . both had raised families and accepted responsibility.

I fear things will have to reach rock bottom under a 10-yr spell of Yuvraj rule and a generations worth of growth wasted before The Family mystique is finally broken on the rocks of abject failure...and Yuvraj the last of that steadily diminishing line (in intellectual terms) rides into the sunset.....

seems 5 head constables in UP have died and 30 hospitalized when asked to cover 10km in 75mins as a precondition to promotion into sub-inspector ranks.

Five cops die during fitness test
By: Agencies Date: 2011-08-09 Place: Uttar Pradesh

Five policemen died yesterday during a physical ability test for departmental promotion in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

A further 100 officers fainted during the trial in which they had to run 10 kilometres in less than ninety minutes in high temperatures.

Some of those who collapsed said senior officers had shown no sympathy and shouted abuses at them as they lay on the ground.

Police recruitment managers said the deaths and the high number of men who collapsed highlighted poor fitness levels in the force.

Most of those competing in the race were in their mid-40s and were described as "middle-aged and unfit".

They died last week in three separate races in Kanpur, Meerut and Azamgarh, in Uttar Pradesh.

Vikram Chandra Goel, chairman of the state's Police Recruitment and Promotion Board said the constables who died had been suffering from heart complaints and high blood pressure but either "did not inform the department of their ailments or they were not themselves aware of the ailments".

"Most of the constables who fainted had an abnormal level of blood pressure ¦ It has nothing to do with the weather or monsoon, more than 87 per cent constables cleared the test in similar conditions and weather," he said.

Promotion aspirants will now have to undergo medical tests before taking place in promotion marathon races.

"They [will] have to submit their medical certificates stating that the candidate is not suffering from any heart
ailment or other diseases and is fit to undergo physical tests of any nature," he said.

"It's a matter of concern for us that many constables could not clear the marathon run. We need to keep our men fit," he added.

Reminds me of a recruitment that I once did for drivers, a permenant well paid job for a central government service. :)

None of the f(@#$ interviewed had any knowledge about anything, no GK , no current affairs or any damn thing at all. The only thing that they all knew (!) were the detailed activities of the local gold smugglers. All had licenses to drive and had surely driven for the gold smugglers.

In the end the only way to select among them was to line them all up at one end of the runway and make them run for their lives (literally!!)

I selected the first seventeen. Sometimes there is just no other way onlee.

ps nobody died in the process.

So no one is acceptable to a majority in the nation. IMO, the way forward should be greater federation, not less. Abolishing the concurrent list and delegating those subjects to the states would be a good start.

The INC has been trying to use the media/pseudo secularists to destroy the BJP and especially NaMo. NaMo is the biggest threat, so the INC have to maximise the damage against him. Its a shame really - doubt he could be politically acceptable to become PM, maybe a minister... but even then, he has had to cancel a lot of international visits because of lobbying against him.

Unfortunate as I think the country needs someone like him for the next election to take us through an extremely tough period going forward.

India goes through a periodic and recurrent breakdown of polity as a preparation for cleaning the slate. As a young boy I had often raged and fumed at the general criminalization and devaluation of public life and services. This process cannot really be understood from close proximity. One needs distance and separation, even formal detachment of ties with day-to-day politics to understand why descent into chaos is a necessary part of the process for renewal.

India's problems are that it becomes a collective of special interests because of its traditions of "diversity" which is highly efficient on economic and associated supporting ideology terms. But at the same time no general coordinated, cooperative mode develops because we have never sat down to the task of creating an overarching objective to which all special interests must be subordinated. People of course have attempted it before, and traces remain in our ancient texts -but the task is a continuous one. Changing conditions generate new special interests all the time, and hence the task of creating overarching objective is also continuous - to keep special interests in check.

At this particular period - the internal special interests are administrative caucuses, business networks, semi-feudal rich peasantry and landlords, a political class for whom politics is profession and a source of income and personal power.

The external special interests acting are foreign powers loosely clustered around three major groups - the "west+white+Christian", China, Islamic.

The concurrent or dual origin - external and internal special interests - are the transnational criminal networks, global financial networks, Islamist and EJ networks, Marxist networks.

The response has so far been extremes of reaction - increasingly fractured, extreme inward looking closed subgroups, each trying to defend its special sub-interests and ready to ally with any other special interests if the other promises to protect this groups special interests - without any concern or thought about overall consequences for the collective of special interests. Thus we have closed jaati-varna combinations still insisting on special rights and exclusive identities, exclusive closed linguistic specialities, exclusive regional identities, exclusive religious claims, totalitarian as well as exclusive violent ideologies aiming to take over state power, biz interests and mercantile mentalities prepared to push for their special interests in foreign policy and internal dispensations under cover of trade and prosperity arguments, admin thinktanks and "experts" pushing for transnational interests that they identify with as their special interests, dynastic political mafia again preserving their exclusive special interests.

This should help us understand as to why India failed to prevent hostile international takeovers in the past and a period of internal progressive collapse became unavoidable where the leading heads of special interest groups were either destroyed or coopted and absorbed into invading regimes. The invaders never become "Indians" out of a necessity to remain another "special interest" group to claim exclusive right to rule. In time this dual process leads to space for a new interest group to arise which has the potential to form the overarching objective. The task is not easy and has not always been carried out successfully.

If this time around, the opportunity comes again after such an earthmover-excavator rollover - the lessons of history should be absorbed. The centres of special interests have to be crushed and then allowed to regrow as parts of a non-exclusive framework. The transition is impossible without some degree of authoritarianism.

Analysis: How to wipe out Islamic terror

Subramanian Swamy | Saturday, July 16, 2011

The terrorist blast in Mumbai on July 13, 2011, requires decisive soul-searching by the Hindus of India. Hindus cannot accept to be killed in this halal fashion, continuously bleeding every day till the nation finally collapses. Terrorism I define here as the illegal use of force to overawe the civilian population to make it do or not do an act against its will and well-being.

Islamic terrorism is India’s number one problem of national security. About this there will be no doubt after 2012. By that year, I expect a Taliban takeover in Pakistan and the Americans to flee Afghanistan. Then, Islam will confront Hinduism to “complete unfinished business”. Already the successor to Osama bin Laden as al-Qaeda leader has declared that India is the priority target for that terrorist organisation and not the USA.

Fanatic Muslims consider Hindu-dominated India “an unfinished chapter of Islamic conquests”. All other countries conquered by Islam 100% converted to Islam within two decades of the Islamic invasion. Undivided India in 1947 was 75% Hindu even after 800 years of brutal Islamic rule. That is jarring for the fanatics. ……………………….
Karan Thapar of CNN-IBN interviews the President of the Janata Party, Subramaniam Swamy.

A significant part of the interview deals with Subramaniam Swamy’s article in the DNA in which he provides his prescription of how to wipe out Islamic Terror:

An Iranian Ship with small arms onboard intercepted by IN near Mumabai coast.

Navy captures hijacked vessel Nafis-I off Mumbai coast
MUMBAI: The Indian Navy has captured a hijacked Iranian flagged vessel off the Mumbai coast following intelligence inputs that it may be carrying arms, ammunition and contraband, officials said today.

The ill-fated vessel 'Nafis-I' was intercepted yesterday and all persons on board have been detained, they said, adding it is not yet clear as to how many of them were pirates and crew members.

Two AK -47 rifles and a pistol concealed in an empty fuel tank of the ship have been found, they said.

To get Kim Davy extradited, Delhi puts Denmark ties in deep freeze
Save for diplomatic presence, India has decided to shun all relations with Denmark to put pressure on Copenhagen to pursue the extradition of Purulia armsdrop mastermind Kim Davy.

Sources said a decision has been taken to “stall” economic activities with Copenhagen and even decline meeting its officials following an advisory from Secretary (West) Vivek Katju in the Ministry of External Affairs.

While the Home Ministry has sent a circular to all sections to collate “pending references with Denmark”, the Finance Ministry has issued a communiqué on “MEA’s instructions relating to Danish projects” with the directive that all agreements and projects with that country be conducted only after “prior consultations with the MEA”.

Bji, IMO Vijaya Nagara empire tried to do this in the beginning, but had to succumb to similar forces at the end. I think that is one of the main reasons for takleef over V.Empire?

Also the end of RamaRaya came from two ends per some historical novel I read- 1. Adil Shah who was considered an adopted son of RamaRaya and 2. Another 'Son' who is born to 'RamaRaya's' Mdarling.

I do hope we can avoid the errors this time. But the process is necessarily painful to let the criminally confused be eliminated by their own frankensteins.

A strategy to combat Islamic terrorism in India by SSwamy in Hindu
This rebuttal is to the piece

in The Hindu titled “Muslims and Hindus are mature, the Sangh Parivar is not” (“Open Page,” August 14, 2011) written by Mr. A. Faizur Rahman, claiming to represent the “moderate” spectrum of thought in the Muslim community.
Mr. Rahman's definition of a moderate Muslim is one who does not react to what he calls provocative articles such as mine. He however fails to define what the so-called moderate Muslim's reaction should be to those “terrorists” who have been killing thousands of innocent Indians in various parts of the country, including driving 5,00,000 Hindus out from the Kashmir Valley.

He states that moderate Muslims are content that the National Commission for Minorities sent a notice to me, rather than respond to the call from Muslim Organisations [his words] to “take up arms and to let all hell loose (sic).” Thank you for the consideration, Mr. Rahman!

However, his concept of moderation clearly seems to be an oxymoron because it means a tacit acquiescence in the atrocities of the Islamic terrorists. He fails to offer any concrete steps for Muslims to disown or counter measures to meet the challenge of the jihadi brand of Islam. At this juncture, I am entitled by the “equal time principle” to state what I had in substance written in my op-ed about combating Islamic terrorism, that is terrorism invoking the tenets of Islam especially jihad.
The fundamental question here today is that since in India we are the worst affected by jihadi terrorist attacks, how to formulate a strategy to deal with Islamic terrorism.
We need, most of all, a strategy of deterrence. Secular intellectuals may wax eloquent about “true Islam” being humane and peaceful, on TV programmes, but it is clear that they have not read any authoritative translations of the Koran, the Sira and the Hadith. These three holy books together constitute the theology of Islam. Hence instead of talking about the “correct interpretation” of Islam, those who call themselves “moderates” in the Islamic community, ought instead to urge for a new reformed Islamic theology that is consistent with democratic principles.

In Islam, the word of the Prophet is final. No true Muslim can disown these verses, or say that they would rewrite the offensive verses of the Koran. If they do, then they would have to run for their lives.

We Hindus have a long recognised tradition of being religious liberals by nature. We have already proved it enough by welcoming to our country and nurturing Parsis, Jews, Syrian Christians, and Moplah Muslim Arabs who were persecuted elsewhere, when we were 100 per cent Hindu country. Today, Hindus being targeted by Islamic terrorists, have to stand up for themselves.

What does it mean in the 21st century for Hindus to stand up? I mean by that mental clarity of the Hindus to defend the nation by effective deterrent retaliation.

This also entails an intelligent co-option of other religious groups into the Hindu cultural continuum. That is why I advocated that Muslims accept what has been scientifically established by DNA genetic studies, that we have common ancestors and share the hoary Hindu past.

'Cops raped 7 women in Bhatta-Parsaul'

IF Rahul Ghandi is serious about this attrocity, he should ask BSP to stop supporting UPA and stop asking for BSP support in PAC.

I have a feeling that this report is more to deflect from the Jan Lokpal bill than actual rape cases as alleged by the national commission for Scheduled Castes. Given the way UP soceity is steeped in caste I doubt that majority of Landowning farmers who protested would be from the SC community for SC commision to step in.

If my suspicions are indeed the case then it shows India top is really rotten. NAC members, Rajendra Sachar's drafting important laws and policies now have verifable links with the PAki establishment.

Bukhari calls stir anti-Islam, tells Muslims to stay away
Abantika Ghosh, TNN | Aug 22, 2011, 06.03AM IST

Syed Ahmed Bukhari, Shahi Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid, has called upon Muslims to stay away from the Anna movement.
NEW DELHI: Syed Ahmed Bukhari, Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid, has called upon Muslims to stay away from the Anna movement saying his war cry - Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai - are against Islam.

"Islam does not condone the worship of the nation or land. It does not even condone worship of the mother who nurtures a child in her womb. How can Muslims then join his stir with a war cry that is against the basic tenets of Islam. I have advised them to stay away," Bukhari told TOI.

While inter-state transport has remained suspended, movement of vehicles within the state has been severely affected due to lack of petrol and diesel. Prices of essential items have shot up, while hospitals are facing shortage of oxygen cylinders and life-saving drugs.
