However I am not sure if i like the title - 'Jammu & Kashmir: The endless war'... it could have negative connotations
IMVHO they should have put something like 'Jammu & Kashmir: The critical war', 'Jammu & Kashmir: A war to protect Democracy', 'Jammu & Kashmir: India's thankless war', or even 'Jammu & Kashmir: India's continual war against terror'
^^ Times NOW is currently airing HEROES with all the persons featured in their episodes being interviewed by Arnab and Maroof Raza with a high ranking panel of retd Gens etc joining in. Catch it if you can.
Not to mention the army guys were their usual cool, second to none attitude.
Blood boils when they showed the 20 yr old boyish soldier right at the end who is paralysed for life.
$%@^ Paki turds need to be made accountable for each of these young lives they have ruined.
I am sorry if I am haggling against an oldie. It is not my intention if it looks like one.
Though I do understand and almost agree with the feelings above, I have noticed that such an action should be secondary, not primary. In other words, a primary concern could be, according to me, solving issues from our side first before giving punishment. To add to clarity, to make the life of the man better, to avoid such mistakes by getting stronger every time these happens, could be a better priority. The retribution can come later, once strength is increased. Just my 2 pence.
Can't watch the video but from the caption it seems that 2 of the NSG guys who took part in Mumbai ops are featured.
Col Sunil sheoran led the Mumbai NSG action as CO SAG. He's as fine a para officer as they come, and is himself a SM Bar (won it twice for the new bees) with many bullet wounds to show for his gutsy actions - including one that grazed his face, which the camera kept zooming on to when he spoke.
Indeed proud of him and all others who shared the stage with him.
Col.Shekawat was the best bad a** in the whole program. I request his wife/mother to nazar uttarify for him, man what a hero he is (not that others are not)
Good to see Amitendra Singh back on duty (with a promotion too!) - he lost his eye to a grenade splinter in Trident. Hopefully he and his fiancee are married now (she is from AMC iirc?).
Col. Shekhawat is right now at the top of the bad ass list, no doubt!
Major Balwan Singh and his men survived on snow for 16 days on slopes of Tololing before supplies arrived. Afaik no one trains or even gets trained for this kind of stuff, this is sheer indomitable human spirit.

Just watching Col. Shekawat and Col. Sunil on TV caused me to shiver in my dhoti...cant even imagine how bad-@$$ they will look to the enemy they are pitted against!!
Truely great guys, all the folks featured. Cant even imagine how the naval commander flew his Il-38 for 300 km without any power/navigation etc and got it to land safely or the young Flt.Lt who landed his jaguar despite having his canopy blown at 33000 ft and all instruments coated with his blood!!!!
would that mean she holds an Indian passport? while the Jawans having a good time on being visited by their pin-up is to be certainly encouraged, it would have been befitting if NDTV had invited an Indian pin-up instead, in light of the significance of the day the program is being telecast.
But in a perverse way, its some sort of retribution too - occupiers become the entertainers at the hands of the liberated
There was one mistake, though. The Squadron Leader's name is Tarun Kumar CHOUDHARY, not Shourie as it says in the description. Even the anchor said Shourie once, I think.
Nevertheless, a very commendable job done. Rather than just showing clips and narrating their stories, they went a step ahead and interviewed them, thereby adding a personal touch to the whole thing
i think the 2007 video was released as part of the marketing plan before the show to showcase the planned highlights. Besides a largish crowd of SDRE-looking guarded by Khaki poshakh wearing guards looking at the Surya Kirans, another clip has a swarm of Oriental-looking people around the Russian pilot
like a lady in burqa showing off her pedicured toe nail & a bit of the adjacent skin, which is all that is required for an unwashed apdul to delirious, i'm salivating all over the keyboard
wrt to this post in the misc pics thread
Some video stills from MAKS originally posted by MSphere.
what human sounding name has his been changed to? was that post deleted? can't seem to find any such video
I was wondering if you could help me name a song that I heard way back when on Samar Shah's Indian Airforce Down Under website. It was the original midi for the cadetship page. I am hoping some nostalgia might kick in and help me out.
Why are these two clowns dressed like semi-tough wannabe Rambos? And why do they have to barge in for food in the mess halls in every episode? Wtf is their schtick? I feel they trivialize the seriousness of our forces. Its just immature and badly scripted.
It is still loads better than not having a program showcasing our armed forces at all. Their program on IN was great, an eye opener for laymen like me. IMHO of course.
