These are all, RAW agents, every single one of them. Their only aim is to work under cover, with or along side the US, and in conjunction with the hundreds of Indian consulates in A'stan - to undermine the Paki soverginity and its awaam.

The stark living conditions are a cover, in reality, they enjoy all the creature conforts they need - so that their single minded focus stays on working to undermine Pakistan.

Pakistan needs more Islam. Its current 'lightness', honestly has been their problem. They have been led badly by bad people, especially their brief flirtations with democracy - have been terrible for them. They need a true visinory, a Kalif so to speak, who will work tirelessly to bring pure Islam to them - the purer the better.

"He said that during his presidential campaign, he had opposed the violation of Pakistan borders."

-re Mccain.

Yes, I do rememebr a debate between Obama and Mccain where a direct question was posed along the lines of 'If you found Osama - and he was inside Pakistan and the Paki govt was unable or unwilling to take him out - would you?' implication being unilaterally - and Obama had answered yes, right away, while the foolish cold warrier Mccain had equivocated and blathered on about 'working with the Pakis, blah, blah'.

Now the guy is spinning it.

Perhaps you meant Osama :) Then again Gramps may have assumed it was Obama and equivocated...

My recollection of that debate between Obama and McCain was that while Obama said he would go into Pakistan and get Osama, McCain said you should not say that in the open but should do it nevertheless.

Pak-US relations: terms of engagement
By Gen (r) Mirza Aslam Beg

Exit from Afghanistan. The occupation of Afghanistan is the ‘Mother of All Evils,’ and therefore an exit from Afghanistan has to be carried out, on the basis of three principles: One. It is the winner, the Taliban, who must be allowed to lay down the terms for peace in Afghanistan. Two. The neighbouring countries, particularly Pakistan that has suffered the most, as a result of foreign aggression in Afghanistan, must be on-board, to workout the mechanism for transfer of power, and reconstruction of Afghanistan.
Gerard wrote:Poor Pakistan, so far from Allah, so near to America

US troops may stay in Afghanistan until 2024
The agreement would allow not only military trainers to stay to build up the Afghan army and police, but also American special forces soldiers and air power to remain.
Sometimes I think that Pakistan's ruling classes spends all of its time thinking about local history as if its like the taziyeh, some sort of timeless story it just keeps repeating itself over and over again.

They really do think that the Americans will withdraw from Afghanistan in the same way the Soviets withdrew in 1989, or the British in the 1920s, that this is just a game of empires.

The Soviet intervention in 1979 was like the interventions in Czechoslovakia in 1968 or Hungary in 1956 - to make sure that the local party put its house in order before it lost control of the situation. The Soviets left not just because of the cost, but because Gorbachev's new approach meant that the Soviet Union no longer policed other communist parties.

The Americans came because of 9/11, and they will have to keep some sort of presence as long as there is a good chance of another one coming down the pike. The Americans will be there for as long as Pakistani state relies on jihadi groups who think the road to paradise is massacring American and Afghan civilians.

Wrong diagnosis. The correct diagnosis is "Pakistani state relies on jihadi groups who think the road to paradise is massacring SDRE Indians". The part about massacring American civilians is not the first and core intersts of TSP, its India and India alone. And Afghan civilians don't count. They are cannon fodder for both TSP and America.

Aslam Beg leaves open some room for Americans to think and make concsessions.

CRS it really isnt that simple - there is a whole ecology of interlocking jihadi tanzims. Groups like the Haqqanis are absolutely committed to the Global Jihad, and see America as the greatest obstacle to the return of the caliphate. Parts of the LeT agree with them. Other Deobandi groups like the SSP absolutely hate Shia of any nationality. Half the Quetta Shura commanders want to massacre Tajiks and Hazara as apostates.

Pakistan as a state has had bad relations with Afghanistan for most of its 60+ years of independence - it was the only country that vetoed Pakistan's acceptance in to the UN.

So perhaps Pakistani confrontation with Afghanistan and India are inevitable. On the other hand while the US-Pakistani relationship had its ups and downs in the Cold War, there was never anything like the post 9-11 period.

Aslam Beg said nothing about the national security impulses that brought America to Afghanistan in October 2001. While the US is reconfiguring its presence, it is not disengaging. If they want the Americans to disengage they would have to make far, far deeper changes than they have shown any willingness to. Beg, and those like him are living in a delusion that will cost Pakistan much more heavily than anyone else.

Indeed, but to the psychopathic TSP mindset that Beg displays, any cost to TSP is worth it, if it can inflict that cost on India as well. When one defines sense of national purpose and a measure of success as to how much pain you can inflcit on India, then you see that Beg's vews are not delusional, they are in fact rational. We (I mean SDREs) must pay heed instead of dismissing them as paranoid delusions of a crazies.

Floods Force a Million Pakistanis From Homes as More Rain Seen
Floods have forced more than one million people from their homes and damaged crops in parts of southern Pakistan still recovering from last year’s worst ever monsoon inundations that devastated the region. Towns “have been declared calamity-hit,” Waqar Mehdi, a special assistant to the chief minister of Sindh province, said today by phone in Karachi. Most of those affected are sleeping on roads elevated above the flood waters, with a smaller number in relief camps, Syed Sajjad Hayder Shah, director of operations at the Provincial Disaster Management Authority for Sindh, said. “The situation is under control as the number of internally displaced people is just over 50,000,” Shah said in an interview in his office. “Anything above that would mean an SOS call to the non-government organizations for help.” Floods last year displaced nearly 20 million people across the country and caused more than $9 billion in damage to roads, bridges and farms. Pakistan’s Meteorological Office said June 14 rains this year will be 10 percent below the average. Still, “thousands of acres of agricultural land have been destroyed because of the latest bout of floods,” Shah said. “Crops of cotton, sugarcane, rice, melon and red chilies have been affected.” Rains may lower output estimates in Sindh to 4 million cotton bales for this year from an expected 5 million earlier, said Mian Rashid Mehmood,

Pakistani accused of slitting prostitute's throat in Dubai
By PPI
Published: August 22, 2011

The 29-year-old man, however, did not speak in court when the charges were read out to him as he only knew Pashto.

DUBAI: A Pakistani allegedly slit a prostitute’s throat thrice and robbed her in a flat in Muraqabbat area of Dubai, the Court of First Instance was told on Sunday.

A policeman said that the knife which was found at the site of the murder had helped them track the suspect.

It was reported that the barcode on the knife led the police to the shop where it was bought from and the CCTV footage at the shop showed the suspect buying the knife.

The UAE-based daily, Gulf News had reported that the prosecutors have requested for a capital punishment for the suspect.

The 29-year-old man, however, did not speak in court when the charges were read out to him as he only knew Pashto.

Therefore, the court adjourned the hearing until a Pashto language translator is made available to the court.

According to the prosecution’s confession records, the accused –mentioned as AK – said that the Uzbek woman made him drink alcohol and stole AED6000 from him one evening when he was with her.

After several attempts of asking for his money back and refused, he murdered her.

“She deserved to die”, AK said “I grabbed her from behind and slit her throat thrice”.

The body was found after her Afghan husband has called his Pakistani friends to locate her because after finding her phone switched off.

The mobile phone of the deceased was later confiscated from AK.

From Tribune - opinion piece (posting in full). After leading TSPian economy to great heights, he claims TSPians are poised for a brighter future due to a larger proportion of learned piglets vis-a-vis India.

Preparing the population for a modern economy
By Shahid Javed Burki
Published: August 22, 2011

The writer is a former vice-president of the World Bank and a former finance minister of Pakistan

For a country that now has the reputation of neglecting the development of its vast human resource, it is possible to reach a somewhat different conclusion about the preparedness of the workforce. When the data for the schooling of the young is examined in some detail, and in the context of what is occurring in other countries of South Asia, Pakistan seems well positioned to develop a modern economy. The data used here are from the work done by the economists Robert Baro and Jhong-Wha Lee at Harvard University. Looking at this data, it appears that compared to other large countries of South Asia, Pakistan is doing better in an area that could be tremendously important for its economic and social future.

In 2010, India had 67 per cent of the 15-plus age group in school while Pakistan had 62 per cent. However, it is at the other end of the educational spectrum — what educationists call the tertiary stage — that Pakistan seems to be doing considerably better than other South Asian countries.

In 1950, for India and Pakistan, the proportion of people attending tertiary institutions was 0.6 per cent. Since this has increased to 5.8 per cent for India, a ten-fold increase, and to 5.5 per cent for Pakistan, a nine-fold growth. For Bangladesh, the increase was spectacular, a twenty-fold growth. However, it is the impressive increase for Pakistan that provides the element of surprise.

Pakistan does well in one critical area — the drop-out rate in tertiary education. Those who complete tertiary education in Pakistan account for a larger proportion of persons who enter school at this level. The proportion is much higher for girls, another surprising finding for Pakistan.

With a considerably lower drop-out rate at the tertiary level, it is not surprising that the number of years students spend in school in Pakistan (5.6 years) is higher than that in India (5.1 years) but a bit lower than that for Bangladesh ( 5.8 years). For tertiary education alone, Pakistan’s youth spend more time being educated than those in Bangladesh and India.

It is in the last two decades that the real brake occurred in Pakistan. The proportion of the 15-plus age group receiving tertiary education in Pakistan increased from only 2.4 per cent in 1990 to 5.5 per cent in 2010. The proportion of students completing tertiary education in Pakistan is 41 per cent higher than that for India. Better performance, when measured in terms of the proportion of the population receiving tertiary education, matters a great deal for the economic future. As Baro and Lee point out, the estimated rate of return is very high for tertiary education, close to 18 per cent. This is only 10 per cent for secondary education and almost zero for primary education. The state, by only concentrating on primary education, is not buying a better future for the citizenry. It must make it possible to develop tertiary education as well.

The answer to the question — why has Pakistan done so much better than other large South Asian countries? — leads us into the realm of speculation. An argument can be made that the nationalisation of privately-managed education in the 1970s and the resulting expansion in the role of public education resulted in a serious deterioration of educational standards. This troubled the well-to-do segments of the population who had the means to pay for good education if it could be provided. This brought the private sector into education and its role expanded rapidly.

The demographic changes occurring in the West and the pressure on the state to pull back from such activities as education, research and innovation means that enormous opportunities are being created for the populous countries of South Asia. In light of the little noticed progress it has made in tertiary education, Pakistan seems well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities becoming available in the new economy.

Accused Killer Kashif Parvaiz Made $2 Million On Controversial Real Estate Deal On Day Wife Was Killed
Kashif Parvaiz, 26, allegedly charmed his way into an elderly gay man's life and persuaded him to sign over his income from a rental apartment building in Queens, N.Y., according to The New York Post.
New Jersey police say that Parvaiz, a Pakistani-American, orchestrated his wife's murder. Last week, while they went for a walk, she was shot and killed while he suffered minor injuries from four bullets. Initially, Parvaiz fingered three men as the shooters, claiming that the suspects -- a black man, a white man and a man of indeterminate race -- hurled anti-Muslim slurs during the attack.

Until the sudden appearance of Kashif Parvaiz, Antoinette Stephen - the quiet, unassuming younger daughter of hardworking Indian immigrants - had not made much of an impression on her neighbors in Billerica.

"She seemed like a nice girl," neighbor Frank Ferraro said yesterday.

Now Stephen, 26, stands accused of being the shooter who conspired with the Brooklyn-born Parvaiz to rub out his wife - and the neighbors say they suspected the surly young man on the motorcyle was no good.

Over the weekend I had an interesting conversation with an ex-crore commander who for the last several years has been enjoying the crores of his toil in uncle's land. (Why is it that all these bstrds chose to retire in massaland?). Our conversation revolved around Pashtuns, Balochs, Pashtunistan and Balochistan. In short, according to him the Paki establishment fear the Baloch more than the Pashtuns despite the supposed fearless fighters reputation of the Pashtuns.
The reasoning is that the Baloch are very united and have a sense of loyalty to their kinsmen whereas the Pushtun is treacherous and due to that the Pashtuns can never be united and easily bought off. Both are stubborn but the Baloch is not easily bought off. Once, they are organized, the PA is afraid they would become like the Tamil Tigers. There you have it....the chaiwallah version of stuff.

Basing Secularism on Jinnah
In the case of Pakistan, God Almighty, instead of man, was put at the helm of the state. Muhammad Iqbal and Jinnah substantiated the same on dozens of occasions. Liaquat Ali Khan formalised it through the Objectives Resolution in 1949.

Therefore, making the views of the makers of Pakistan as the basis of our case for a secular Pakistan just makes it look absurd.

Pakistan’s religious-political leaders and Urdu columnists have failed to take notice of the fact that, on August 14, 2011, the Chinese military chief started his first ever visit of Israel

The map of the Pan-Islamic World, drawn by Dr Muhammad Iqbal, an Islamic philosopher and poet — whom Pakistan owns as its national poet and visionary of its existence — categorically included Kashgar when he says in one of his famous couplets:

“Aik ho Muslim haram ki pasbani ke liye,

Neel ke sahil say le ke taba Khak-e-Kashgar.”

(Become one for guarding of Muslim sacredness.

From the banks of the Nile up to the soil of Kashgar.)

Unfortunately for Iqbal, his map is only partly upheld by his brainchild nation, as Pakistan has die-heartedly supported all Islamic causes starting from North Africa and the Middle East up to Afghanistan and Kashmir, but is not willing to go beyond that as from there onwards the boundaries of its best friend, China, start. Kashgar, of course, is located in Xinjiang, the only Muslim majority province in China.
Currently, the Pakistani government has withdrawn its vocal support to any Islamist militant movements in any part of the world, including Kashmir. However, both religious-political parties and the media, particularly the Urdu newspapers, in Pakistan have been maintaining their previous stance for all such organisations. Even today, Hafiz Saeed holds public meetings in Lahore, in which he proudly owns his outfit’s continued involvement in the Kashmir jihad. He lives and moves freely without the slightest hindrance. This underscores Pakistan’s a la carte approach to terrorism. The reason is pretty obvious. China is its bosom buddy, while India is its asli dushman or eternal enemy as the Urdu columnists remind us day in and day out. Quite ironically, neither the media nor the religious-political parties in Pakistan — with the possible exception of Hizb-ut-Tahrir — have ever shown any sympathy for the ETIM. The limits of their Islamic universalism go as far as from where the boundaries of China start. To them, it seems, all Muslims are brothers but some are stepbrothers.

Further reforms needed in the laws governing F.A.T.A.
Writing in the Express Tribune, Nadir Hassan explains that "All of these measures are improvements but they merely turn the FCR from outright barbaric to severely repressive. To applaud the government for making these small changes is like praising the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz for letting out the occasional yelp. The FCR is still a law of dubious constitutionality that needs to be done away with."

Jo Pakistan mein Gandu, woh china mein aur bhi bada gandu...

ISLAMIC HONOR KILLING IN CHINA: HUSBAND BEHEADS WIFE BECAUSE SHE LIVED "AGAINST ISLAMIC LAW"
The body of a 35-year-old South Asian woman, who was almost decapitated, was washed up on the beach. The body, with deep cuts to the neck, was clothed only in underwear when it was found by an elderly woman on Friday morning...........

Suspect hits death beach The Standard

An asylum seeker from Pakistan, accused of killing his estranged wife because she had lived "against Islamic law," will appear in Kowloon City Magistrates' Court today charged with murder.
A hooded and handcuffed Tahir Nawer, 38
, was yesterday lunchtime taken by police to an area near 230 Tung Chau Street where, with the help of an interpreter, the crime was reconstructed.

The group then went to the nearby Tung Chau Street Park and then to a bus stop in Cheung Sha Wan Road. Two hours later they were at a beach near Sham Tseng in the New Territories.

Tahir was remanded in police custody.

The naked body of the woman, 35, was found on Tsing Lung Tau beach on Friday morning. Her throat had been slashed.

Tahir was arrested on Saturday morning, about 19 hours after the body was found.

According to reports, Tahir allegedly told police he gave his wife a drug-laced drink in the park. They then took a 52X bus to Tsing Lung Tau beach near 44 Castle Peak Road.

At the beach he allegedly stripped her to humiliate her, slashed her throat and threw the body on the ground. He buried her belongings behind a bush. In the beach reconstruction, police used a dummy and a mobile phone charger with wire cord attached. The suspect made gestures during which he used the cord to strangle the dummy before using a plastic knife to cut its throat.

According to a source, the suspect is a devoted Muslim who became critical of his wife - a non- believer - who refused to dress in Muslim garb after the couple arrived in Hong Kong as asylum seekers a few years ago.

They were receiving welfare and lived in a subdivided unit in Nam Cheong Street, Sham Shui Po. They separated after the suspect was accused of beating his wife.

He then became acquainted with a woman from India who he now considers to be his second wife. She gave birth to a girl a month ago.

The suspect is said to have been in constant contact with his estranged wife and became dismayed at the life she was leading.

Go to any common video hosting site - youtube, liveleak, etc - and look up 'qatal', ' eid qatal' - and see the offerrings on display - 90% are from the sewer next to India, and almost all are horrific examples of animal brutality, in public, with a fair bit of the audience under 10 years. They indeed are desensitised to this from a very early age - visually via displays like these, intellectually via the constant drumbeat from their mullahs re how the dirty kaffir should be treated, and finally - via the heroes they uphold - most of whome are heroic specifically because of their inhumane brutality against those not as pure as them.

Add to that the frightening blather about the superiority of the 'halal' method, and you have your answer, assuming you were not being rhetorical.

yes. Ritual slaughter. It's called "Ziba" I think. The recording of the worthies who did 26/11 slit the throat of the captain of a boat they hijacked and when asked what they did (on sat phone) said "ziba kar diya" (Cut his throat). It is absolutely horrible but that is the Islamic way and Pakis seem to like it a lot. The whole business o Pakistani pride in being meat eaters versus Indian "vegetarian surrender monkeys" seems to involve pride in being able to do ziba.

The following is a description of the horrible process. I have seen it done to cattle and watched whatever videos I found online - with some disgust. Enlarge the font if you must read. Best avoid it if you are squeamish.

Every video of the Islamic people of Pakistan cutting human throats as ritual "ziba" is the same. The victim lies on the ground hands and legs bound. One man steadies the body while another holds the head so it cannot be turned or flexed so that the neck is kept exposed and open. The islamic slaughterer holds the hair with his left hand and uses a knife to go slice slice slice across the front of the neck - soon severing the main blood vessels causing death by blood loss and lack of blood to the brain. The victim clearly feels the initial slicing and may occasionally be heard crying out and the method is a slow one that eventually gets to the gristle and sinews that hold the neck bones together which the pious Muslim Pakistani continues to slice till the head is severed and can be held up for display by the hair. Charming brothers we have spawned.
