I was myself wondering about the brown shoes myself but you guys are really an observant lot to have noticed the make of the tires! Anyway, thanks for laying my confusion to rest. :)

No, they are not the same. What you are seeing here is the Gippsland GA8. It is commonly called the airvan. However the airvan and the NM-5 do share the same engine.

Mahindra now owns Gippsland ... They are now developing a 10-seater plane based on this plane, by using a turboprop engine instead of the present six-cylinder inline engine. It will be called a GA-10. Actually, we should see the prototype of the plane take to the skies anytime this November.

They are actually even building a 18-seater which would be certified by 2014. which would mean that one should be seeing a prototype pretty soon (first half of 2012).

Great Quality Photo Vishal! Did you get any close-ups of Shahid?

Is it just me or does that F16 look like an overloaded monstrosity ?
I miss the curves of the older Block 16s

I don't see anything different in the nose.. The cone has always been black on the Mirages. The rest of the body is painted in the standard Light blue hues that, again, has been the standard paint scheme for the mirages.

Bah! Don't break a sweat. The plane just needed an overhaul after Shahid Kapoor flew it! He clearly stressed the airframe after flying it with a flaming engine from Kargil.

There is evidence of desert camouflage that has been painted over in some parts

Could that yellow strip be some sort of an extension between the body and the nosecone. Something which increases the internal space..

I think we are ready way too much into the Mirage ... It came for an overhaul ... and there were some sheet metal which needed to be replaced.

Either that or the Mirage upgrades are already underway ... which I strongly doubt!

In this picture, I see that the new P8-I has a "Window" that is close to a size of a door.
Can some one ID why an ASW would have such a big window?

I don't believe the window is much bigger than the windows on newer 737 models. The P8-I would need windows for observers to look out of. Visual surface sweeps are still a useful searching method.
