however, the announced/leaked launch time of 8:15 against actual 8:05 may have been deliberate mis information.

I first heard Kalam talk about IGMDP at the Science Congress meeting in the early 90s, his talk was held at Ramakrishna Mission building

near Dhakuria, Kolkata. I guess mission accomplished finally over two decades.

launch happened at 0807 and hit the target MORE than 5000km away at 0827. Successfully hit the target as expected. Scientists were over the moon.

According to Pallava Bagla of NDTV, A5 gives India the capability to attack enemy sattelites and launch satellites on demand.

no its not cansister launch. tarmak and other pix showed it as exposed launch.
cansister launch and a fatter MIRV payload is the next big milestone.
