1995: VayuSena MiG 21 @ Avalon Airshow - RAAFB Williamtown, NSW, Osstraaya
Was a bit surprised to see it in, of all places, Osstraaya mayte!.
Photographer remarks on the photo: "this aircraft at that time was owned by a group of Qantas pilots and was based At RAAFB williamtown in NSW. It's still there as part of Fighter World musseum at williamtown"

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Could someone elaborate on what role is this weapon supposed to fulfill?? Its just a hi-tech machine pistol, afaik, the role quite nicely covered by the Uzi and Micro Uzi.. What was the need for this all new type in the inventory, i'll never be able to fathom..D Roy wrote:So the Beretta MX4 has indeed made its way to India. Indian weapons purchases make a great deal more sense when viewed thru the prism of whose palms are being greased.

Not an entirely bad weapon, out performs the MP-5 any day and can be used with different caliber rounds. Good for close quarters.

Sometimes I like the simpler uniforms of the past with the Ishapore slung across
maybe because that was my introduction to the IA.
I used to have a picture of a IA soldier guarding a refinery in Assam wearing that type of uniform, pouches and thinking that used to be so smart looking

^^^Major General does not command a Brigade...he commands a division. And 101 Communication Zone was as good as a Corps (AFAIK) in 1971.
