It's hardly between Indians and GoI, and clearly the US consulate is thus being targeted. So it's a cheap and more importantly the logical way for GoI to defuse the situation. Even if the video is not banned, it can be placed on the export control list. That would require it to be taken down from Google unless Youtube can guarantee that it can restrict availability to US citizens and residents.
Once a video like this hits the internet, you can block site after site and it still wont stop someone from finding a copy. I don't agree with your assertion that this is a battle between Indian muslims and the American consulate. This is just one act of violence that has to be seen as part of an architecture aimed against ideological pluralism. Islam will not be able to reform itself. Muslims that do, cease to be muslim or are just practicing taqiyya. Not one "moderate" indian muslim has come out to condemn these acts, which is strange b/c they supposedly represent the mainstream indian muslim voice. Democracy is merely a means to attain an Islamic state while piggybacking on the productive capacity of non-muslims. We've tried everything from interfaith dialogue, quotas, education, welfare, turning the other cheek, censorship, etc for over 1000 years but it never penetrates the islamist core of their mind which remain hermetically sealed in a titanium shell. If countries like India and the US begin censoring, what differentiates them from Islamic states?

Does GoI have a role in protecting Muslim interests say if a country invades a Muslim country and Indian Muslims demand that? Would Indian Muslims have a say in India's nuclear policy if it demands, say to nuke Israel?
Excatly my thoughts since the day of the Myanmar Muslim and BD muslim riots.

Doesnt this prove that the next time GoI attacks TSP ( a remote chance but by some chance, a PM with $%#^& is around), wont the IMs paralyze the country since their ummah brothers are being attacked by Kafirs? Surely, the TSP Ummah brothers are closer to IMs than some Myanmar Muslims for whom we saw large scale disturbances across the country?

So, seems that the IMs are a veto factor in having a offensive TSP policy?

Our Pujya PM have declared that muslims have the first right on Indian resources.ITs but natural for them to use the Indian resources Via GOI for their Ummah Interests. So far they have not interfered in Nuke policy. That domain is allocated to Church by our elites . Congress wont rest till we are either sold to WEST or enslaved to Ummah Interests. We are facing 17th Century enemies again.

This is a silly way of looking at things.

Point to note is that Indian Muslims did not get to know about this movie until the news of riots elsewhere. In fact, the IMs are echoing a riot anywhere in the world.

Per your logic, GoI should extend the ban from the movie to foreign news wherever/whenever a muslim riot happens in the world.

Then how would you stop IMs from getting the same info from other channels, say a phone call from a Libyan jihadi to an India Jihadi.

Do you see the fallacy in your logic? You seem to think Indian Muslims view themselves separate from Ummah. This is the nonsense our secularists and muslim apologists propagate, which in turn raises its ugly head in our policy paralysis.

It doesn't matter how the Muslims come to know about the video. It is the US government's responsibility to keep this offensive material contained and made available only in countries that subscribe to its free speech values. Such a system already exists via the export control mechanism, which is why dual use technology is not freely available on the internet. If this video (for example) were placed on the export control list, Google and other sites would have to take it down.

When the US pretends to be helpless in suppressing the video, how different is it from the recent Pakistani case where GoI complained about offensive material?

After nearly three decades from its notification Chandigarh loses its Disturbed Area status. Consequently Politicos, IAS, IPS and UT govt officials lose pay and perks. Punjab and Harayana High Court had to quash the notification to make the UT administration realise that the Internal Security state was normal in Chandigarh.

After 29 yrs, Chandigarh gets rid of its ‘disturbed area’ tag

UT officials to lose extra security, perks

UT administration will appeal and go to SC to prove that Chandigarh is still a disturbed area.

Read the article, and don't see leniency as the solution. Solution lies in the change in mindsets from the radicles end and clearly demonstrating Radicalisation does not pay off. The source in my Humble opinion is the House of Saud and its muftis, if the can openly declare Sarv dharma Sambhavana and open a places of worship of all religions with Greater than 5 million world population in thier country while allowign thier citizens to freely choose thier religion, such an example will deradicalise large sections of the radicles.

You missed the point - these guys are STILL radicalised even after prison sentences (in some cases the prison sentences aren't big enough or they get off lightly which doesn't solve the problem) and continue to re-commit crimes. So, there needs to be "education" and get them de-radicalised by getting some imam or whoever to re-educate them that terror is wrong AFTER they have served their sentences.

It is the (some of the) Imams that started this jihadi education. The issue is the imams themselves do not have protection within and without Ummah. Case in example is the guy who praised Modi from AMU. The secularism or your GCC could do zilch about it.

The issue is more serious. Trying to solve it with half-hazard measures is silly way of addressing a solution, at best. The problem is an ideology that is given divine sanctity to be asuric. Perhaps you should watch the video after all. How so you solve it? By destroying that ideology, and the people who propagate it. Not the jambies who follow it.

And you want India to make friendship with the originators and custodians of that ideology.

That is the problem.

We must encourage the step that they are at least they are (partly) correct in identifying the problem. While the solution may not be suitable, admitting the problem is the first step. Baby steps at first, followed by leaps later.

How do you "deradicalize" a muslim? They are doing nothing wrong according to the Koran. You still don't get it. The convention they are using is completely different. The Koran itself doesn't leave room for interpretation when it comes to the status of non-muslims and how they should be treated.

I feel that a very effective solution for dealing with Islamic terrorism and radicalism would be to take away their property and freeze their bank accounts. Since many of them live with their families, it would mean putting their loved ones on the street with the added bonus of not being able to withdraw money.

there is no need to get entangled in any philosophical questions right now.

my point about "laughing" at the proposal was simply at the notion that somehow the current setup even understands the roots of Islam to actually make a genuine try at "deradicalizing". they operate under lot of fake assumptions and straitjacketing to even make a dent on "radicalism".

You de-radicalize a muslim by using their religious texts to prove that it is wrong to kill innocents - be they non-muslim or not. But thats a philosophical debate that the imam or scholar will have with the individual. If it works - great. if it doesn't - oh well, better than doing nothing. It has been met with some success in the other countries - but equally some failures.

A problem they have in some cases is that the evidence is not strong enough - which is what the article states. Harsher sentencing is definitely good - in fact several have been granted 15-20 years+, some given life sentences but what about cases where we don't have enough evidence? Practical problems.

Again, it wont work. You can't use the Koran to prove that killing innocents is forbidden b/c it states the contrary. What is so philosophical about that?

A terror conviction is a terror conviction. If the evidence isn't strong enough than he should be let go. That being said, if he or she is convicted of actively taking part in terror related activities stronger disincentives should be in place. Throw their family into the equation. If it works - great. If it doesn't - oh well.

Peace’ between CPM, BJP in Kannur worries Muslim League

16/09/2012 13:59:11 VR Jayaraj | Kannur - Daily Pioneer

A perceptible de-escalation in tension between the CPI(M) and BJP-RSS in Kerala’s Kannur district – where hundreds of people had been killed in the past four decades in conflicts between the two sides – is causing worries to the Muslim League, second biggest constituent of the Congress-led ruling UDF.

The latest reason for worry for the Muslim League, which has of late been accused of taking a soft approach towards extremist elements by the Marxists, is the recent visit by Kannur district CPI(M) secretary P Jayarajan to the home of Sachin Gopal (20), an ABVP activist murdered by activists of the Islamist outfit, Popular Front of India (PFI).

The district leadership of the Muslim League feels that the CPI(M) and the BJP of Kannur district have buried their age-old enmity in order to take on that party in the context of the widespread allegation that it has been using its influence over the State Government to make undue gains.

“Has anything so important happened in Kannur district for the CPI(M) and the BJP-RSS to come together?” asked a district council member of the Muslim League. “This newfound love is intended at destroying us. Nobody even in his wildest dreams would ever think that the CPI(M) and RSS in Kannur district can become friends,” he said.

The Muslim League thinks that the change in the thinking in both the CPI(M) and BJP camps with regard to their relations had occurred after the intense standoff between it and the Marxists. Kannur had seen a spurt in clashes between the Muslim League and the CPI(M) recently leading to attacks on offices and homes of activists of both parties.

“Suddenly, there is no enmity between the CPI(M) and the BJP and it is quite surprising to anyone who knows anything about Kannur,” said a district Muslim League leader. “Both parties have till now been calling each other fascists and killers but now both of them are speaking about nothing but Muslims’ extremism,” he said.

“If Jayarajan had visited the ABVP activist’s house out of compassion for the murdered boy’s relatives, that feeling should have been seen in other cases also. Why had CPI(M) leaders not visited the homes of BJP’s Kannur general secretary Pannyannur Chandran and Yuva Morcha leader KT Jayakrishnan when they were killed?” asked the Muslim League leader.

The CPI(M) has adopted a position that there is no need to attach political importance to Jayarajan’s visit to Sachin’s house. “It is quite normal for leaders of political parties to visit houses of activists and leaders of other parties when there is a killing or death. One should not find politics in it,” Jayarajan said.

BJP sources in Kannur said that the change in the approach of the CPI(M) towards the BJP should be welcomed while the general public in Kannur seemed to be welcoming the change in mood in the two camps. “I don’t care about the politics but I would like to see these two parties living in peace,” said Sasidharan, a government employee from Koothuparambu, Kannur.

Sachin Gopal, a member of ABVP’s Kannur town committee, was attacked brutally by a gang of activists of PFI’s students’ wing Campus Front on July 6 at Pallikkunnu in Kannur while he was on a membership campaign. He succumbed to the hack injuries at a hospital in Mangalore on September 5.

The police the other day arrested Lateef (37), said to be the Kannur city president of the Popular Front, who had allegedly played a crucial role in the killing of Sachin Gopal. Investigators are of the feeling that the murder was committed as per a plan of the PFI and its political wing SDPI and they had used the Campus Front just as a cover.

Think laws already exist to pay for damage caused by terror act. Which means seizing their assets. For example in drug cases - it automatically becomes a tax evasion and money laundering case which allows provision to seize assets. Don't think terror is that different. But in general yes - its a good idea.

But even then don't think that will do. Why not bury them with pigs - guaranteeing they don't get their 72

Police officer Munir Abbasi says that hundreds of protestors in the city of Hyderabad who rallied against the film that mocks the Prophet Muhammad demanded businessman Haji Nasrullah Khan shut his shops in solidarity.

When Khan refused, one of his tenants said his decision supported the film.

City police chief Fareed Jan said on Wednesday the protesters claim Khan insulted the Prophet.

Jan said there's no evidence to suggest this happened and said police were pressured by the mob to open the case.

Blasphemy is punishable by life in prison or death in Pakistan.
Can a police officer refuse to file the case in an islamic country, especially when Sharia is in place?

Who is an "innocent" in Islam? which texts define "innocents"? For every story of sparing an "innocent" there are two or more cases of not sparing an "innocent". The deceptive imams and their hagiographers will simply highlight the sparing cases for the benefit of the hagiographers propaganda material. But they will not denounce the non-sparing incidents as anti-islamic. These will be preserved so that under opportune times - Muslim mobs can be mobilized on the non-sparing precedences.

Cops seek neutral names for buses in Kasaragod
M P Prashanth, TNN | Sep 20, 2012, 02.50PM IST

KOZHIKODE: Police plan to ask bus operators in Kasaragod to use religiously neutral names for buses after it was found that buses with Muslim or Hindu names have become a starting point for communal tension in the district.

A senior police officer said it had been noticed that even accidents involving buses having religious names had ignited clashes in the district. "If a bus having a Muslim name hits a Hindu, it can generate tension in the district. The same can happen the other way around. Pelting a stone at a bus with a religious name could trigger violent reaction from the community," he said.

However, the private bus owners association is less enthused by the police move. "A similar suggestion had come from them around three years ago. They wanted us to paint buses in same colours and to have no names for them," said V C Madhusoodhanan, president of the association. "The police even wanted us to remove the religious symbols kept inside buses. We took objection to the directive and moved the high court, which ordered a stay." Bus owners feel that removing religious symbols from buses alone will not help in curbing violence. "The public knows which bus is owned by whom. There is no point in removing the visible signs," Madhusoodhanan said.

Kasaragod MLA and IUML leader N A Nellikunnu, however, believes that there is an element of truth in what the police say. "In other places in Kerala, if an autorickshaw run by a Hindu hits a Muslim it would be just another case of accident. But in Kasaragod, it can assume a communal dimension," he said.

He said changing the name of buses could do some amount of good but change should happen in the minds of people.

However, Nellikunnu has some reservations about actions taken by the police in dealing with the situation. "Had the police handled the issues in the way people expected, things would have been different."

Police have submitted detailed proposals to the government on how to tackle communally sensitive issues. These include additional deployment of police in crucial areas and setting up of special police pickets. Some of these are yet to be addressed by the government.

^ Secularism in its full force.

In order to appease a Muslim, Hindus should leave all their culture behind. And we have millions of Hindus who think that is a good solution.

Good going!

Extremists using dogs for target practice?
MALAPPURAM: Extremist outfits here, it is alleged, are using dogs as targets in their training programme. The cadres of such organizations, it is suspected, are mounting attacks on dogs as part of a trial run for assaulting people.

At the training camps, it is alleged, their trainers ask the cadres to chase running dogs on motorbikes and slash their tails or sever their heads.

Apparently even pet dogs are not spared. On receiving a complaint, on Wednesday, a police team along with veterinary experts examined a pet dog that had suffered injuries in such an attack. The team had in it Dr Noufal, the veterinary surgeon of the Areekode Government Veterinary Hospital, and sub inspector T Manoharan. The dog belongs to Kalarikkal Jayamohan. It had a deep wound on its body inflicted by some sharp weapon.

Areekode police have been receiving complaints from the locals that dogs are being attacked during the night and that some had succumbed to their injuries.

After preliminary investigation, Malappuram district police chief K Sethuraman constituted a special police team headed by DSP S Abhilash to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident.

But the police team investigating the case is yet to confirm the role of any organization in the incident. SI Manoharan said police still didn't have any clue on the type of weapon that was used to attack the dog even after examining the injury. "We can reach a conclusion only after examining more such dogs in the area," he said.

The DSP said investigations were going on and that police would probe whether any extremist organization was behind the incident.

Meanwhile, Jayamohan, who had lodged a complaint with the Areekode police three days ago, said incidents of attacks on dogs were increasing day by day.

It could have also been perpetrated by Communal Hindu outfits and then blame the minorities, right? -- And so the secularists may pose.

^ That is a moronic (consciously used) way to read my post.

Did I mention a religion? Did I say Dharmic vigilante is against a religion?

Do not troll!

1) KILL THE DOGS

From Bukhari Vol. 4, #540

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Apostle ordered that the dogs should be killed.

From Abu Dawud #2839

Abd Allah B. Mughaffal reported the apostle of Allah as saying: Were dogs not a species of creature I should command that they all be killed; but kill every pure black one.

The Hadith's note for #2839 says, "The prophet did not order the killing of all the dogs, for some are to be retained for hunting and watching. He ordered to kill the jet black ones. They might be more mischievous among them.

From Muslim #3814

Ibn Mughaffal reported: Allah's messenger ordered the killing of dogs and then said, "what is the trouble with them (the people of Medina? How dogs are nuisances to them (the citizens of Medina)? He then permitted keeping of dogs for hunting and (the protection of) herds. ...[and for] for the protection of cultivated land.

From Muslim #Number 055

Ibn Mughaffal reported: The Messenger of Allah ordered killing of the dogs, and then said: What about them, i. e. about other dogs? and then granted concession (to keep) the dog for hunting and the dog for (the security) of the herd, and said: When the dog licks the utensil, wash it seven times, and rub it with earth the eighth time.
