That uTube stuff is from 2010 or so.

Nov, 2012 :: ‘Mumbai suburban rail a wonder’

And, it IS true.
A railway officer who was with the delegation, on condition of anonymity, said, “They remarked that technologically China was better off than India in railway operations, but when it comes to suburban railways, it could learn from Mumbai.”

After a few hours of touring CST, which was selected by the Indian Railways as its fine example of railway operations, the Chinese officials remarked that given the constraints (infrastructure and technology), Mumbai’s suburban system is a wonder. Railway officers who accompanied the visiting group shared that the Chinese were indeed impressed that the system transports approximately seven million passengers a day, which is similar to the volume transported by Beijing and Shanghai.
Granted China has the technologies, which India does not have.

But India has the operations, which China does not have.

THAT is exactly the point some of us have been making for eons on this subject.

And, in a war operations matter far more than technologies. No need to go too far, travel to Pakistan and ask them. For the most part Pakistan has had the better equipment, but has lost every war. China will be no different.

It is truely a wonder!

India Rail Track Deaths Amount To 15,000 Each Year
Most of the deaths occur at unmanned railroad crossings, said the report released over the weekend. About 6,000 people die on Mumbai's crowded suburban rail network alone.

Another 1,000 people die when they fall from crowded coaches, when trains collide or coaches derail, it said.

Like what?
Like the inferior locos that we made and used and refurbished and leased to Malysia? to replace brand new Chinese made locos?

Or like pathetic poor Indian 1990s ISRO designed satellites that last 13 years compared to cheap chinese junk that fell out of the sky in 18 months?

Are we really this insecure about us?

As usual trying to distract from the main topic (war).

Sigh. However.....................

That is not a wonder, it is very predictable.

BTW, the US has some 40,000+ highway deaths each year. And a cool 250,000 injuries to boot each year.

Been happening for decades. Again, very predictable.

Perhaps you do not get it.

Let us try it again.

Indian operations - with "crapy" equipment - is FAR better that Chinese operations with latest equipment.

It has nothing to do with Chinese (or any other) latest equipment in India at all!!!!

The point being India will use an old Gnat and beat the crap out of a Chinese J-17.

oooooops. I mean a J-20/31.

Cannot speak/type for others, BUT, as I have always stated, I sleep well. Even with J-20/31s flying around me.

Your refurbished ones are a temporarily stop gap before the problem were fixed, not replacement.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KTM_Class_29
20 locomotives were acquired around 2005, but proved less than reliable than the Class 26 bought at the same time. By 2008 only 5 out of 20 were in service due to the high number of technical problems. As a consequence KTM had to lease locomotives from India at a cost of $1000 per train per day.[3] As the units were still under warranty, the manufacturing company was called in and a KTMB task force was formed to fix the problem. By December 2008 eighteen units had been overhauled and were in working order.[4]

Currently no reliability problems have been encountered with the locomotive and have performed above expectations. These Locomotives are currently Maintained By SMH Rail SDN BHD[citation needed] While the main objective of the locomotive is to pull heavy freight, it easily handles local shuttle trains with an operating speed averaging 110km/h.[citation needed]

LoL! Who is distracting from the main topic? I post a link about Chinese military ship building. Then I guess it has hit the nerves of the indian posters here and the usual stuff starts again --- finding links of how Chinese civil ship building company sucks. The move to the topic of how great India's locomotives are. When I gave links of China also exporting trains, then topic switch to how great Indian railway operations is. Then the link was provided to show the exceptional high death tolls of Indian railways, again, topic switch to how many Chinese miners die every year and how many high way death tolls US have. Nice predictable trolling techniques!

The International Sea bed Authority (ISA) is part of UNCLOS, while China legitimizes its claim to deep sea mining in the Indian ocean region, it ignores the UNCLOS identified boundaries in the South China Sea itself, I think their political cover for enabling their noisy SSBNs to operate in the SCS is weak.

Well there was no meaningful discussion earlier on when fanboy pics were being posted so no discussion will come out of Mao's musharraf. The Chinese are only interested in blowing their own trumpets. As long as you shiver, quake and admire them they call it "discussion". If you call them out all they find to "discusss" is news about India that is never hidden.

There is a lesson here. The Chinese consider it bad form to reveal negative information that people can mock. For the Chinese believe that everyone must mock negative information. That is why they mock India. And that is why they hide their negatives. It is a cultural thing. They respond to criticism by doing a torn shirt/open fly. You tell them their shirt is torn, they tell you "So what. Your fly is open and that's worse" As a country, honor, admiration, fame etc are to be felt in public for the Chinese. Shame must be hidden and never exposed. You will find this consistently down from CPC to internet drones.

This gives us a method of pushing the right buttons. If you admire them and praise them, you are giving them exactly what they want, because Chinese society exposes only what they wish should be admired. They do not expose the truth if it is embarrassing or causes shame. It is a sort of "schoolboy" level maturity in culture. Even if you honestly admire China you are only screwing yourself by declaring that in public because you expect honesty from them, but Chinese culture does not allow the making of shameful things public. They will puff with pride at your admiration and mock your honesty in exposing your warts.

The Chinese need to be handled in the way they can be manipulated. Assuming that they behave like Indians do is wrong.

Han export machine working overtime. Just rike everything Han become top pussy suppriar arso. The pussy market of afghanistan captured by Han

http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/wor ... 7433_x.htm
KABUL, Afghanistan — A string of lights spells out the name of the bar in the back of the basement in capital letters, PARADISE. A dozen Chinese women in skintight miniskirts and halter tops flit around clusters of beefy Western men and flirt in broken English.

Now and then, a man and woman climb the stairs to the upper reaches of the house, where Paradise does its real business.

Paradise is a brothel in an unmarked residential compound in an upscale Kabul neighborhood where prostitutes from China cater to Western men. Since the U.S.-led invasion in 2001, thousands of Westerners working for security firms, companies and aid groups have poured into Afghanistan. Not long after came Chinese prostitutes, in some cases trafficked into the country.

The International Organization for Migration helped 96 Chinese women who were deported in 2006. They told IOM they were deceived by a travel agency in China and promised employment in a restaurant for $300 a month. But when they arrived, they said, the Chinese restaurant owner denied them salary and forced them to provide sexual services by night.
And Pakistan too.

http://rupeenews.com/2008/05/prostituti ... franchise/
An aid worker for an Islamabad-based non-governmental organization (NGO) recently related a story: quickly after his arrival in the capital, he realized the house next to his own was a Chinese brothel. The Chinese ability to “franchise” the commercial sex industry by providing down-trodden Chinese women throughout Asia, North America and Europe would be admirable in a business sense if it were not for the atrocities – human trafficking, sexual slavery and exploitation – which cloud its practice.Chinese bordellos, often operating as “massage parlors” or beauty salons, are across Pakistan, even spread even to war-torn and restive locations such as the Afghan capital Kabul. Chinese in the sex industry have developed a cunning ability to recognize areas where the demand for sex far outstrips the supply.
Han Business accumen on the show. Han peopre very interrigent.

54% of Japanese men belong to haplogroup O, and more precisely to the subgroups O3 and O2b. Both of them could be of Han Chinese or Korean origin. A negligible percentage of the Japanese are O1 or O2a, two lineages that trace their roots among southern Chinese or south-east Asian people.

You are free to post any negative Chinese military news and we are free to post any positive news as long as it is factual or reasonable. I have been in this board for more than a decade, there is no discussion that can go further than one or two posts before indian posters start name calling or derailing the topic. So I think posting news is better, just let the pictures and news speak for themselves. Even that, you still not like it and you think it is propaganda. But the fact is, China has been improving so fast in the last ten years and it is hard for you to digest. From J-10 to J-20, which one doesn't start from "it is photoshop, china doesn't have the technology capability"?

I, for once, welcome this derailment of the Chinese thread...the reason being, it clearly shows the reason why the Chinese posters are here - pure and simple propaganda to showcase their 'best' and 'brightest'....and when I say showcase, it is literally showcasing - posting large inline pictures of some new gizmo and claiming how it is the best thing after sliced bread.

I don't think anyone of them understands the meaning of discussion on an open forum - where posters have argued in favor of T-90 against Arjun - and continue to do so. Any doubt about the so called claims of the Chinese gizmos or negative remark turns into the classic 'torn shirt-open fly' arguments. As hakeem sahab said, they are looking for admiration and jaw-dropping kind of response here. The idea seems to ;shock-and-awe' the SDRE Indians and keep them cowered down through this blitz...that is why there is no discussion on anything worth while here - because Chinese are not here to discuss - they are here to 'teach' SDRE Indians about the great Chinese leap forward.

We can do without these paid Chicom posters and their nonsense...and concentrate on hard-core capabilities of PLA/AF/N...there is no contribution from any of these stupid Chinese posters or, those hiding behind nationalities of other countries.

Guys please let us keep this civilized. Sucking, ***** and frankly sex workers. We are going way way way off the topic at hand. My two thoughts.

I would really like to have the discussion which NRAO requested on 16-Dec-2012.

Ashi and anybody who is from China/Greater China or Chinese settled outside China, let us take a hypothetical case of Sino-India conflict. The scenarios can be anything.
1) India surrounding a Chinese armed patrol in northern Ladakh which has crossed the McMohan Line
OR
2) China's desire to reclaim southern Tibet, i.e. Arunachal Pradesh
OR
3) India taking an action to reclaim the northern Ladakh territories that it lost, i.e. what the chinese refer to as Akash Chin.
Or
4) Any other scenario that you can think off.

Thanks. Your mind spills out from your mouth/typing fingers. When people laugh at cheap plastic copies and fakes the reason for their laughter, according to you, is not because you are unable to provide details, but because the fault lies with me. You are examining my digestive system and saying that the J-20 looks like a failure because my digestive system is bad.

I gave you plenty of chances to tell us some details about the J-20 that make it great. But all you can do is peer up my brown little Indian bottom and diagnose my digestive system. This is why I am saying that there is a big hoax, a big bluff going on. Chinese honor is at stake and my digestion is being blamed for your loss of honor. You are completely helpless to show anything else but see light inside my musharraf. How much more ludicrously transparent can you get with your emotions? :D

Lets have some details about that J-20. You don't know anything about that because your Chicom bosses keep it a secret lest they are shamed. But you know my digestive system. Sorry. Not good enough.

Somehow I think China would not go to war with India in near future , say , up to 2025.

The first reason could be that after war with India, China would be so weak centrally that it would split in many sub nationalities and minority areas/autonomous regions like Tibet and Xinziang would become free independent political nation sitting in UNO by the side of Probably Rump China (PRC) (post war).

Its military capabilities are evenly matched for conventional war except for missiles. Nuke deterrent for both side is enough to think twice and stop at conventional missile lobbing at each other.

India can and will easily choke Malacca strait in the event of war .

Nuclear subs available with India has reduced flight time of nuke missiles to important cities in China to bare minimum. If it is determined that China has launched nukes , even before India is hit, China would be receiving its share of nukes.

They may retain second strike capability and India has to develop it and that is one objective behind Ari Series with six tubes planned for Asia pacific region.

China hopes to leave India far behind by 2025 militarily and economically and then think of forcing war upon India. What it might have forgotten is that its demographic profile would be working against it while India would be still a demographically young nation. There is a hope among them that Indian growth would falter. They should remember that China is export dependent with its FCR tied up with dollars/US treasury bonds . Inflow stops and it would collapse. The day may not be far when China faces economic problems , its growth rate is already slowing down.

The sum total is that India should show resolve in its dealings with China.

People be kind to chinese. Junk is in their blood, Junk is there history. They are the patent holders of junk. Producing Junk and dumping/selling it to 'pakis' is their birth right. :rotfl:

Made in China = Piece of Junk. No not that one.

Don't believe me check here. Junk
A junk is an ancient Chinese sailing vessel/ship design still in use today. Junks may have developed from very early bamboo rafts which had a high stern.
Atleast the junks produced by the song dynasty is better than junks produced by present day junkies.

China Makes First Asteroid Fly By
by Staff Writers
Beijing (XNA) Dec 17, 2012

China's space probe Chang'e-2 has successfully conducted a maneuver in which it flew by the asteroid Toutatis, about seven million km away from the Earth.

Travelling in deep space, Chang'e-2 made the flyby on Dec. 13 at 16:30:09 Beijing Time (08:30"09 GMT), the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND) announced on Saturday.

The flyby was the first time an unmanned spacecraft launched from Earth has taken such a close viewing of the asteroid, named after a Celtic god.

It also made China the fourth country after the United States, the European Union and Japan to be able to examine an asteroid by spacecraft.

Chang'e-2 came as close as 3.2 km from Toutatis and took pictures of the asteroid at a relative velocity of 10.73 km per second, the SASTIND said in a statement.

Sources with the administration told Xinhua that Chang'e-2 is continuing its deep space travel and will reach a distance of more than 10 million km away from Earth in January next year.

Chang'e-2 was launched on Oct. 1, 2010 from Xichang Satellite Launch Center and later orbited the moon to finish a more extensive probe than its predecessor Chang'e-1.

Chang'e-2 left its lunar orbit for an extended mission to the Earth-Sun L2 Lagrangian point on June 9, 2011, after finishing its lunar objectives, which collected data for a complete lunar map.

The probe departed from L2 this year and began its mission to Toutatis.

Since its blast-off, Chang'e 2 has scored several records: being the first to capture full coverage map of the moon with a resolution of seven meters; being the first object ever to reach the L2 point directly from lunar orbit; and being the first to closely observe the asteroid Toutatis.

China early this year published a full coverage map of the moon, as well as several high-resolution images of the celestial body, captured by Chang'e-2. The resolution of the images is 17 times greater than those taken by Chang'e-1.

"The success of the extended missions also embodies that China now possesses spacecraft capable of interplanetary flight," said Wu Weiren, chief designer of China's lunar probe program.

Chang'e-2's extended missions, which were conducted millions of km away from Earth, have tested China's spacecraft tracking and control network, including two newly built measuring and control stations in the northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and northeast Heilongjiang province, according to the SASTIND.

However, China still belongs to the second tier in lunar probe internationally, said Ouyang Ziyuan, chief scientist for China's lunar orbiter project, adding that the Unites States and Russia are still leading nations in this field.

Wu Weiren stressed international cooperation in lunar probe, saying it is a shared responsibility of world scientists to work together in lunar and deep space exploration for the common good of the human race.

China major supplier of APIs to Indian pharma companies

Last Updated: Sunday, December 16, 2012, 11:40

New Delhi: Indian pharmaceutical industry imports majority of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates worth billions of dollars from China.

According to the official data, till February 2012 (2011-12), total imports of APIs and intermediates from various countries stood at USD 3.07 billion, of which imports from China stood at USD 1.65 billion.

Indian firms imported APIs and intermediates worth nearly USD 3 billion in 2010-11 with China alone accounting for USD 1.88 billion, the data showed.

During 2009-10, Indian firms imported APIs worth USD 2.4 billion while imports from China stood at USD 1.14 billion.

Indian firms import majority of their raw materials from China as they get benefit of cost by sourcing from the neighbouring country, Angel Broking Head of Research Sarabjeet Kaur said.

"It's not a threat to Indian pharmaceutical sector as Indian pharma sector is more of a formulations focused industry, while China is more of APIs," she added.

The pharmaceutical industry is valued at USD 22 billion and stands third largest in terms of volume and 13th in terms of value. The sector is growing at a rate of 14 percent per annum.

The growth of the sector has been driven by high quality and competitively priced medicines for domestic and global markets covering both developing and highly regulated markets of the US and the European Union.

Indians also import chemicals from the arabs, who can make them cheaply thanks to cheap oil. All this means is that china supplies raw materials, something that even Africans do. Yet after having all these cheap ingredients, Chinese need fake Indian drugs to sell any drugs at all. Kind of tells you the trust people have in China and the trust they have in India. Despite being poorer than china, they trust Indian drugs, because poor or not, we make quality stuff, not junk.
