Why is a Hindustan Times editor a member of the NSAB? No wonder our security policy is such sh*te.
What is this rubbish. G Parthasarthy seems incredulous at the behaviour of the anchor and also the co participants. Its shameful that such garbage is actually running the country!

Indian troops did not cross LoC: Army chief General Bikram Singh
Indian Army chief meets martyred soldier's family in MathuraKHAIRAIR (UP): Rejecting Pakistan's allegations, Army chief General Bikram Singh on Wednesday said Indian troops have not crossed the Line of Control (LoC) or indulged in unprovoked firing and that any casualty on the other side may have been due to retaliatory firing.
"Our jawans don't cross the LoC. We honour human rights. We fire in retaliation when provoked," he said here after meeting the family of Lance Naik Hemraj, who was beheaded by Pakistani soldiers in a cross-LoC attack in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on January 8.

Read and weep.
Praveen Swami of the Hindu with a story claimed to be an “exclusive” on the beheading of Indian soldiers.
Looks like our Congress Party led UPA Administration is trying to absolve itself for its pusillanimous dhimmi-like response to this latest provocative action by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan by spreading some of the blame for the beheading onto the Indian Army :
Runaway grandmother sparked savage skirmish on LoC
The Congress Party led UPA Administration’s strategy of covering up its pusillanimous and dhimmi-like behaviour in the face of provocations from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan by spreading the blame for the beheading of our soldiers onto the Indian Army seems not to be limited to Praveen Swami and the Hindu.
Yet more motivated (?) leaks from unnamed Government source this time from Saikat Datta of the DNA:
Uri Commanders Forceful Retaliation Led To Beheadings?
Talk about our media scoring self goals and handing out propaganda victories to those who have a history of killing Indians
The articles by Praveen Swami in the Hindu and Saikat Dutta in the DNA have come as a Godsend to commentators from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Ayesha Agha Siddiqa, not a known friend of the Uniformed Jihadi’s of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, gleefully uses the two articles, more then once, to draw an equal = equal between our Army and the Uniformed Jihadi’s:

India, Pakistan to 'de-escalate' border tensions, Army says
AFP | Jan 16, 2013, 08.22 PM IST
An Army spokesman said that the two sides' senior military commanders had spoken for 10 minutes over the telephone where they reached their agreement.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Army has reached an "understanding" with Pakistan to "de-escalate" military tensions in Kashmir after the recent deadly flare-up along the line of control (LoC), a spokesman told AFP on Wednesday.
"An understanding has been arrived at between the two director-generals of military operations to de-escalate the situation along the line of control," Army spokesman Jagdeep Dahiya said in reference to a de facto border in Kashmir.
Dahiya said that the two sides' senior military commanders had spoken for 10 minutes over the telephone where they reached their agreement.
"The two DGMOs spoke to each other at 10am (0430 GMT) for 10 minutes and the Pakistan DGMO said strict instruction have been passed not to violate the ceasefire," he said.
Dahiya said Indian troops stationed along the border would also not breach the ceasefire forged between the two nuclear rivals in 2003.
"We have always upheld the ceasefire and have only retaliated," the spokesman said.
The spokesman did not give further details of the conversation between India's DGMO Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia and his Pakistani counterpart, Major General Ashfaq Nadeem.

Its time we stopped thinking that the UPA and ISI are 2 mutually exclusive entities with competing interests. They are also colluding at some level and have been doing so for a while, I suspect. So, Praveen Swami, Saikat Dutta, Ajai Shukla may not just be ISI-sponsored. They could have been co-sponsored by ISI and UPA. Or even exclusively be co-opted by the UPA.varunkumar wrote:There is a very good chance that these two journalists have handlers in Pakistan. Karan is right. Bikram Singh agreed in his press conference that Kumaon regiment had multiple soldiers beheaded a few years ago.rohitvats wrote:Deter the Pakistanis? How many such cross border raids have you heard about? And you do forget that IA operates under the ambit of the GOI.[..]Karan M wrote: If the Army had indeed inflicted heavy pain, versus a limited tit for tat, then we would not be having these incidents today. Like it or not, they have not been able to deter the Pakistanis.
War is about psychology. How you get into the head of your adversary.
This attitude that we will take revenge at the time and place of our choosing is a very weak response.
An enemy should feel that if they do anything wrong there will be immediate repercussion and it will be so severe that they should shiver in their pants even thinking about it.
We can blame GOI or the sun and the moon but however many undisclosed raids have been done by IA they have not achieved the objective of stopping the beheading and mutiliation of Indian soldiers.
Regarding psychology in a war do you know why Kashmiri Muslims do not eat beef?
Why did Afghan mothers tell their kids they should sleep else .... will come?

Re: Indian Army: News and Discussions 15 Apr 2012
The biggest giveaway about their handlers is the sources - they were relying on inputs from MEA and MH. IB maintains presence on the border and it would have reported back to MH on the development. Plus, the substance from internal briefing from NSA to PM would have been leaked in manner as suitable. As it is, PM heard about developments and took advise from NSA and not from Army Chief. God knows what was "lost" in translation.Karan M wrote:Both are current Govt chamchas and were clearly trying to do the usual GOI stuff by doing an = = and making the aman ki asha stuff continue. Regarding retaliation, I think India should revive CIT-X, and go after the puppet-masters, not just the puppets directly on the LoC.

One Smerch attack killing a Paki general and doing the paki deniability trick should be enough. Once a few high level Paki Khaki's die, the appetite for such behavior will reduce in the PA.

Best interview I've watched of an Indian army commander till date.
Detailed and pertinent answers. The Northern command has adequate forces to take care of any situation. The troops along the LC are deployed in a no war, no peace configuration. The army has a system to graduate to a high level of alert to tackle if a situation unfolds. I've told my troops to be patient and we are maintaining a calm. If provoked gravely, WE HAVE AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE IN MIND!
Nor the CoAS's interview neither the northern army commanders's thorough interview was possible without govt. on board.

Then Maharaja turned towards Kashmir. Hari Singh Nalua's regiment was in forefront in campaign to get back Shah Shuja from the Governor of Kashmir, Shah Shuja's wife Wafa Begum had promised Kohinoor Diamond for Maharaja if her husband was to be freed from prison of Kashmir. In 1814 A.D., Hari Singh forces routed Kashmiris forces. Shah Shuja gave Ranjit Singh Kohinoor Diamond, from that day on till his death Maharaja Ranjit Singh wore that Diamond on his right shoulder, it was his pride. Hari Singh Nalua was appointed Governor of Kashmir. Immediately, he ordered to ban cow slaughter, such was an effect that to this day, Kashmiri Muslims don't eat beef. Jaziya, etc , the taxes which Hindu and Sikh population had to pay to their Muslim rulers for "not being a Muslim" were eradicated. For these obvious reasons, several Muslim historian had labelled Hari Singh Nalua as a tyrant. His rule they called "Sikha Shahi" or the "Rule of Sikhs." But no matter what, Hari Singh Nalua and his forces never destroyed any Mosques or abducted Muslim Women, etc. all those atrocities which Mughals and Pathans had committed on the local non-Muslims population. (It was around 1700's A.D that majority of Punjabi population became Muslim owing to the atrocities by Aurangzeb the sixth Mughal emperor) .

Kashmiris and other muslims in J&K do eat beef. Their word for beef and buffalo meat translates to mota maans , thick (?) meat. You shouldn't rely on such sites for your information. A lot of them are outlets for Kahlistani propaganda.

The article says that KMs DON"T eat beef, but the fact is that they do.
The way information is presented and interpreted is just as important. How will you decide that a reputable source is telling lies or a disreputable one is telling the truth ? What you want to believe may be truth to you, but may not be true in reality.

This is a good article by Sadanand Dhume of the "Wall Street Journal."
online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323468604578245190469637514.html#articleTabs%3Darticle
"In the short term, departure from India's habitual posture of restraint may increase instability by raising the prospect of a war between the nuclear-armed neighbors. But the sooner Pakistan's generals and their jihadist proxies learn that violence against India carries unpleasant consequences, the more likely they are to abandon a nearly 25-year-old strategy to bleed their larger neighbor through the proverbial thousand cuts ....
India should explore a range of military options, from drone strikes against terrorist kingpins, to air raids against training camps, to limited retaliation against Pakistani border posts. Rather than urging restraint on India after every fresh outrage, the international community should lean on Pakistan to accept retaliation as the logical price of misadventure. The principle: Punish those responsible for violence, rather than ordinary Pakistanis, many of whom seek peace as much as Indians do."

No the Kashmiri Muslims do not eat beef. The pseudo secular crowd explains this behavior as "a love for the belief of fellow Hindus".jamwal wrote:The article says that KMs DON"T eat beef, but the fact is that they do.

See here: http://abodeofthesaints.blogspot.hk/201 ... indus.html
The punishment for cow killing instituted by Hari Singh Nalua was so brutal that it got into the psyche of the Kashmiri muslims and they considered it prudent to just give the practice beef eating completely.
"Raghe Hari Singh" is an admonishment used by Afghan mothers to make their children sleep. Darmesteter a French researcher has written about this in "Chants populaires des afghans" in 1888 and Olaf Caroe also wrote about it later.
Some have also said that Pathans wear shalwar suit because they heard the sikhs of Nalwa will not kill them if they are dressed as women.
Some questions to ponder: why were sikhs so succesfull in creating a fear psychosis in Afghans and other paki ancestors?

Before we touch upon the second and more plausible, if also more sinister, explanation of the entire LoC affair, it is important to disabuse ourselves of the nonsense that the Pakistan army is a professional and modern army which doesn't engage in the mutilation of corpses of its adversaries.
The fact of the matter is that despite all the trappings and traditions of the old British Indian army, the mindset of the Pakistan army is that of a medieval Islamist or jihadist army. The only difference between the Pakistan army and its illegitimate offspring, the Taliban, is that the former is a uniformed force while the latter is not.
None other than the former leader of opposition in Pakistan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has revealed that the Pakistan army would hurl living Taliban fighters out of helicopters flying from a height of a 1,000 feet and more to instill fear and terror among the Taliban ranks.
During the 1990's, Pakistani Urdu press were full of stories and pictures of beheaded Indian soldiers which were displayed as trophies by the jihadist proxies of the Pakistan army.
Apart from the mutilation of Captain Saurav Kalia and his men during the Kargil conflict, there is also the incident of General Pervez Musharraf felicitating the terrorist commander Ilyas Kashmiri after the latter presented him with the severed head of an Indian soldier.
A former Indian general has revealed that during the 1965 operations in Chammb, the Pakistan army severed the ears and noses and even genitals of dead Indian soldiers. And for anyone to suggest that in this latest incident, it was perhaps some jihadist force which carried out the mutilation is nothing but an apology, if not an alibi, for the Pakistan army.
........................................
India needs to keep in mind the lesson of Kargil. Once hostilities started, the international community tried to pressure India against responding forcefully to Pakistani aggression, holding out assurances that they will try and resolve the matter. Had India agreed, the Pakistanis would have been still sitting on the heights they occupied with the international community twiddling its thumbs.
