Pak-India ties: Expect no drastic changes for now

Myket Tuck Allah for smoll barmhärtighet

ISLAMABAD: While newly-elected Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made some positive overtures to India soon after his party won the election, senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) officials say no major foreign policy initiative towards the neighbouring country is likely to take place soon.
His inner party circles as well as foreign policy-making institutions in Pakistan have given him the same advice: As far as normalising relations with India is concerned, keep it slow.Nawaz Sharif’s decision to manage the foreign affairs portfolio himself, and his upbeat statements about relations with India during the election campaign, created the impression that he might rush for a 1999 Nawaz-Vajpayee summit-like event immediately after coming to power. This had given rise to the impression that a major foreign policy initiative is on the cards.Former foreign secretary, Shamshad Ahmed Khan, who is considered close to Nawaz, also confirmed that the prime minister has been advised from all sides that he should not show haste in making any major shift in policy connected with relations with India. “Nawaz Sharif knows my opinion and he knows the opinion prevailing within the foreign office – that we should not rush for it,” Shamshad told Dawn.comNawaz’s desire to rush for improving ties with India is likely to be further blunted when senior military officials brief him sometime next week, about the security and military situation, including the situation on the eastern and western borders.Although the country is facing no immediate threat on its eastern border, the situation, nevertheless, is far from normal. Indian military planners have been considering the dangerous ‘Cold Start’ doctrine, under which they believe they can punish Pakistan with their conventional military superiority and yet stop short of invoking Pakistan’s nuclear response.Besides, security and foreign policy experts believe that there is hardly any enthusiasm visible in New Delhi for undertaking a major foreign policy initiative towards Pakistan. In India, the Congress-led government is facing a lot of domestic pressure and the opposition, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has adopted a very strident approach towards Pakistan. Experts say that in this situation, the Indian government will not go out of its way to normalise relations with Pakistan.
“The only major policy shift expected from the Congress government is that perhaps it will agree to resume dialogue with Pakistan, which they suspended in January following an incident on the Line of Control (LoC),” security expert Hassan Askari explained.Ironically, Pakistani and Indian leadership is diametrically opposed as far as the agenda of potential talks is concerned. The countries have a completely different set of priorities in dealing with each other.A senior PML-N leader told Dawn.com that Nawaz is clear that he wants to normalise relations with India in the spirit of the Lahore declaration. This would, in practical terms, mean that Kashmir has to be given primacy, after which come the issues of nuclear security , followed by a set of issues ranging from trade, to people-to-people contact and other disputes like Sir Creek and Siachen. On the other hand, Indian leaders have come to focusing exclusively on a single point agenda of terrorism, in the wake of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks.Yet, despite the stark difference in priorities, there is still hope. Opposing ideas about the agenda of the talks have, in the past, led to a stalemate in the dialogue between the two countries. But many former diplomats of Pakistan say that the two countries can overcome these problems, if given a chance. “These are the challenges for diplomacy, the best solution for reaching common ground is to let the diplomats make bridges and you will find the way forward,” Shamshad concluded.

306.2m Indians, 15m Pakistanis live without electricity: WB

Indians are closer to Pristine Islam of Prophet Time
LAHORE: Around 1.2 billion people residing on this planet, almost equal to the population of India, have no access to electricity, says a startling World Bank “Global Tracking Framework” report on the subject. The figure of 1.2 billion without power means that approximately 17 percent of the 7.09 billion humans on Earth are virtually living in the Stone Age. The detailed World Bank country-level and global data, which outlines challenges (as countries try to provide universal access to modern energy,) reveals that India happens to be the most deprived country as far as provision of energy is concerned, because 306.2 million of its inhabitants are still leading lives without benefiting from this basic utility. In terms of Electricity Access Deficit, Pakistan features 16th in this World Bank table, which shows that no fewer than 15 million Pakistanis are without power today. The report further maintains: “The rate of access to electricity and of use of non-solid fuel as the primary fuel for cooking will have to increase from their 2010 levels of 83 and 59 percent, respectively, to 100 percent by 2030. The rate of improvement of energy intensity will have to double from 1.3 percent for 1990–2010 to 2.6 percent for 2010–30. The share of renewable energy in the global final energy consumption will have to double from an estimated starting point of at the most 18 percent in 2010, implying an objective of up to 36 percent by 2030.

Pakistani songs are usually long and painful, often excruciatingly painful and have a lot of stress and strains and twists and turns in them, a direct product of the low in fibre and high in meat diet that ensures that most Pakistanis spend a lot of their time in Pakistan pondering over lyrics of their songs :rotfl:
and this...
Pakistani musicians write long songs with broad rhythms on bright subjects with tight endings. Indian songs tend to be shorter with darker themes, usually celebrating harvest occasion of crops and grains like rice.

Pakistani songs are also fairer than Indian songs and speak better English. Also, 1 Lollywood song = 10 Bollywood songs.

Worthless Useless Afterall

The United States Rely On Allah to sort Out the Dead in Pakistan
Two NBC reporters appear to have gotten their hands on some potentially explosive classified documents that indicate the CIA killed people in Pakistan with drones without even knowing who they were,.Though the Obama administration has previously said it targets al Qaeda leaders and senior Taliban officials plotting attacks against the U.S. and U.S. troops, officials are sometimes unsure of the targets’ affiliations. About half of the targets in the documents are described as al Qaeda. But in 26 of the attacks, accounting for about a quarter of the fatalities, those killed are described only as “other militants.” In four others, the dead are described as “foreign fighters.” In some cases, U.S. officials also seem unsure how many people died. One entry says that a drone attack killed seven to 10 people, while another says that an attack killed 20 to 22.

Regardless, thanks, we are honored that you pakis have decided to respect Lataji.

Arraybhai why is it important for us to seek any validation from TSPians for our treasures. TSP can go to hell and it would be no loss to us, If folks on BRF cannot grasp this simple concept then what can we say of the billion dhimmis all around us.

To Indians, the nation of TSP and its citizens are like beggars outside a wedding hall watching the banquet spread and hoping for some leftovers when all the guests have departed. They can salivate about the food, they may even fight over their share of the leftovers and some may even loudly proclaim ownership of a few recipes but it means nothing to the guests inside.

RB ji, there are othr typical Paki mentality on display:

1. Spitting in the plate that one eats.
2. Tendency to bite the hand that feeds.
3. Paki bluster - always better than the rest.
4. All their woes are misfotunately due to others projecting a better image.

I hadn't heard about this singer till this article. I am sure most in India also may not have heard about this guy. Even in Bollywood movies, there aren't a whole load of Paki male singers that are popular with people.

^^^I remember there was a report of Ali Zafar trying to do a Shortcut Aziz's CondyRice seduction takniki on Katrina and getting majorly KLPD'ed on sets of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan mucho to the amusement of Imran Khan (Aamir's nephew, not Im the Dim) who was an upcoming actor then. All these Paki "stars" are bite-the-hand-which-feeds-you variety, nothing surprising there. Pakistani singers are more brave than Indian singers. If an Indian singer sings, people would say "wah wah" and move on. A Pakistani singer on the other hand might get a fatwa and get bull cuttled. So there is danger to be overcome if you want to become a singer in Pakistan.

Which dhoti shivering Indian singer ever defied bull cuttling to become a singer? There is no excitement in being an Indian singer - its like being an Indian shia, ahmadi, christian, Jew, journalist, politician, polio worker or school girl. Completely boring and uneventful.

That's why I find Pakistani singers exciting. You never know what's going to happen to them next.

I am no Bollywood fan except for song & dance, but this latest Bollywood buzz has terrific talent, and I am sure the f#$^&ing Paki filth is listening and dancing to this latest Bollywood buzz a zillion times, and Kiyani and Hefeez pig themselves salivating over Deepika baby :-).

Nightwatch
India-Pakistan: A senior Indian Army officer told the press that Pakistani troops shot and killed an Indian Army officer on Friday near the Line of Control in Kashmir. "A junior commanding officer (JCO) was shot dead by the Pakistani troops near Poonch sector." A 40 minute exchange of fired across the Line of Control ensued.Pakistan denied that its forces killed the JCO or engaged in any firing along the Line of Control.

Comment: Despite the statement above, it is not clear whether Kashmiri Islamic militants killed the JCO or a Pakistan Army sniper. This is the second exchange of fire across the Line this month and the first since Nawaz Sharif announced that peace with India is a top priority. The Kashmir Free Press reported this is the 31st ceasefire violations along the Line of Control this year.

Pakistan-US: A US drone attack killed seven people in northwest Pakistan, officials said. Two missiles hit a compound in a village in the North Waziristan tribal area, close to the Afghan border. It is the first drone strike since Nawaz Sharif took over as Pakistan's prime minister.

Special Comment: Every time a Pakistani leader endeavors to improve relations with India, hardliners in Pakistani intelligence and the army stoke up ceasefire violations in Kashmir. The timing of this incident suggests a deliberate challenge to Prime Minister Sharif. Dismantling the extensive Army and intelligence-supported paramilitary infrastructure in Pakistani Kashmir that supports the 800 or 1,000 militants in India's Jammu and Kashmir State would be a major sign of Sharif's sincerity. Only Musharraf managed to impose and enforce a ceasefire along the Line of Control. As commander of special operations forces and Chief of Army Staff he also helped build and manage the militant infrastructure so he knew how to ratchet tension down. The drone strike also looks like a challenge to Sharif in defiance of his inaugural statement two days ago that the drone attacks must stop. Some people obviously have decided to test whether Sharif is true to his word on both accounts: India and drones. No one ever accused Sharif of being wishy-washy.

The comment I made thanking the Pakis for respecting Lata was with heavy sarcasm. Securing a validation for Lataji is like saying one understands and respects the sun for giving all the light.
An incident narrated by Pt. Jasraj:
Jasrajji was visiting Bade Ghulam Ali Khan (BGAH) once, and at one point the radio started playing "yeh Zindagi usi ki hai" from the movie Anarkali. Jasrajji says BGAH sat in a trance with a surmandal in his hand and afer the song was fininished said "Kambakht (unfortunately) besuri nahin hoti". BGAH was waiting for any place in the song where Lataji would be out of tune and could not find any. Such is the respect great classical musicians have/had for Lataji. So we do not need any confirmation from Pakis.

Ananthaji, you missed the point I am making. I want every Indian to treat TSP like a stray dog of no consequence to us. This dog lives in our neighborhood but we do not feed it, treat it when it's sick and usually avoid it as far as possible. We are not looking for it's affection nor it's protection. The first time it takes a bite at us or growls menacingly at us, we reach for the nearest brick to let the dog know who is the alpha leader in the pecking order in short we let the dog live its life on its own terms as long as it keeps its business to itself.

Cracks appear: TTP braces against militant offensive in Mohmand

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Taliban Saturday accused two other banned organisations ‘Lashkar-e-Taiba’ and ‘Ansarul Islam’ for planning a massive attack on their bases and supporters in Mohmand region.

Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan claimed on Saturday that their rival groups are also using the name of the Afghan Taliban for their planned offensive.

In a telephone call to The Express Tribune, Ehsan said that the two banned groups have entered into alliance with the local anti-Taliban ‘lashkar’ (militia) to target bases of the banned TTP militant group.

“We will fight back and there would be bloodshed,” the TTP spokesperson warned.

Asked as to why the two groups have decided to launch the attack, the TTP spokesperson explained that the two groups harboured an old rivalry with the militant group.

Ehsan claimed he was seriously concerned at the impressions given by his rivals that the Afghan Taliban have joined the groups in the fight against TTP.

“We hope that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will realise the conspiracy of the TTP rivals,” Ehsan hoped. The TTP uses the term Islamic Emirate, a term used by the Afghan Taliban when referring to themselves.

“We have shown allegiance to the Islamic Emirate and accept their leadership and if they have any complaint we are ready to satisfy them,” the TTP spokesperson claimed.

Afghan Taliban distance themselves from TTP

Two Afghan Taliban officials, when contacted, though distanced themselves from the TTP and said they do not want to be involved in any fighting outside Afghanistan.

“We are fighting the foreign forces and their local backers in Afghanistan and have never been involved in any activity in any other country,” the Taliban officials said on the condition of anonymity.

Lashkar-e-Taiba, who have been time and again been blamed for militant actions in India, rejected the TTP claim of organising against them and said the group focuses its activities to the Indian-held Kashmir.

“We neither work in Afghanistan nor Pakistani tribal regions. We do not have any links with any group in the tribal regions,” Abdullah Ghaznavi, a Lashkar-e-Taiba spokesperson told The Express Tribune via phone from undisclosed location.

While Unkil is giving money to this state as Stphen Cohen likes to call 'failing' he talks about the future. He says that
However, many Indians understand that a collapsing Pakistan could also prove fatal to their country. In this view, India-Pakistan relations have reached a hurting stalemate that strongly resembles the cold war, during which both sides endured decades of crisis and a terrific arms burden until the Soviet Union crumbled.

He bring again US Soviet cold war when it does not apply here at all. Here one of the country is being given money for the bad behavior and for its fake history.

From an orthodox Pakistani position, normalization will come if and when India backs off on the key symbolic and strategic issues that have been there for sixty-five years, notably Kashmir. Meanwhile, the Pakistani state will continue to endorse and support elements of the Pakistan identity that make it distinctive, including hatred and fear of India, with a few hawks still arguing that India, not Pakistan, is an artificial state and that Pakistan need only wait until India comes apart.

This is what the Unkil used to say for the last 60 years.

The world against Muslims
A Perfect genuine PoqoRetard
A few days back Shafiqur Rahman Barq, a BSP member from Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh walked out of the lower house as Vande Mataram was being played. The speaker of the house, Meira Kumar got angry and said in a harsh tone, “One honourable member walked out when Vande Mataram was being played. I take very serious view of this. I would want to know why this was done. This should never ever happen again." After the incident the Hindu majority media started accusing Shafiqur Rahman Barq of insulting the national anthem. The Hindu extremist groups staged demonstrations, protesting against Shafiqur Rahman Barq and demanded serious action against him. But Shafiqur Rahman Barq said in an interview with CNN and IBN, that he did not insult the national anthem; ‘Vande Mataram’ is an ode to motherland not the national anthem. He said, “Muslims, like me, bend only before Allah, not before any other gods.” According to the reports, Shafiqur Rahman Barq is still receiving serious threats from the Hindu extremist groups who are demanding that he leave the country. The so-called organisations which claim to keep an eye on human rights violations throughout the world must have shown solidarity with Shafiqur Rahman Barq, but their criminal silence over this issue is very alarming. Weather he was right or wrong is besides the point but they should have raised their voices against the threats and I am sure they would have done so if Shafiqur Rahman Barq were not a Muslim.

How dare a Christian slap me

A Christian family in Kasur is accusing a landlord and 12 of his family members of beating up three of their women and ransacking their house over one of them being slapped.
The police are not registering an FIR against the men even though medico-legal reports have established injuries suffered by the women, says the family. The police told The Express Tribune that the landlord’s family were “innocent”. The Christian family, they said, was being “used” by the landlord’s rivals.
It all started with a herd of goats :rotfl: , owned by the Christian family, entering Ibrahim’s nursery and damaging about a hundred saplings, says Shaukat Masih, the husband of one of the women. He said he had had an argument with Muhammad Munir, Ibrahim’s son, when he locked his goats in a cattle shed and refused to return them.

“We (the three brothers and his sister-in-law) went to them again to request them to release our goats,” Shaukat Masih told The Express Tribune. He said he had told Munir off when he “misbehaved” with his sister-in-law and pushed her. “Munir slapped me and then I slapped him. He was furious, saying how dare a Christian slap him,” Masih said. Elders of the area intervened then and persuaded Munir to return the goats.

Ah worry not, Christians can only drone them, bomb them, shoot them, torture them in Gitmo but cannot slap them because being slapped is an attack on their non existent Ecchandee

Non-penetrating painful interactions (slaps) are a slap on Pakis' echandee. The christians of foggy bottom must be sensitive to Paki echandee and inflict painful penetrations onlee to its peachy bottom.

This Is Pakistan's Answer to U.S. Drone Defiance
Pakistan's newly-elect prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, announced the country would no longer permit U.S. drone strikes on his country's soil during his first speech earlier this week. So when the U.S. openly defied him with another drone strike late Friday, he called the U.S. envoy in Pakistan for a little chat. What happened behind those closed doors, or what was said during the ensuing conversation, is unknown at this time. We know Sharif was "protesting" the drone strike that killed nine people in north western Pakistan late Friday. All we can know is this sternly worded statement released by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "It was conveyed to the U.S. charge d' affaires that the government of Pakistan strongly condemns the drone strikes, which are a violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity," they say. "The importance of bringing an immediate end to drone strikes was emphasized."

^^^
Translation: Current money paid to facilitate drone strikes are too low. Nawaz wants to re-negotiate higher fees and get US guarantees of supporting his regime.

Anujan Ji :

I think Nawaz Sharif has bitten more than he can chew.

Drones Stop – Money Stops

Drones Continue for “Higher Fees” – He loses face and the other Political Parties might make him “kabab boti”!

We are in for interesting times especially that now the Economic Survey 2012-2013 is due.

$10 billion for 'defence'-for a beggar nation! Total budget was IIRC $18 billion recently. No wonder they are starving in Sindh and eating several day old rotting carcasses in West Panjab.

At least they are frightening the Hindoos, one of the prescribed role of pious Muslims.

Pakis are planning to have the telibunnies invade Afghanistan post 2014.
They (in their twisted lahori logic) are training sikhs in their terrorist training camps to keep India unsettled to prevent it from warming up the eastern border.

Pakis further have designs on central asia, where their ancestors and four fathers came trotting on horses across the meadows and fallow lands. They will increasingly try to sponsor their terrorists into those islamic nations.

This is typical of the invading muslim hoardes of yonder years, anarchy at home and the military generals invading other lands.

Oh BTW, democracy in Pakistan is actually bad for its neighbours specially India.
Because:
1. The fauj is free to indulge in its nefarious activities, and they can leave the civilians to manage the affairs at home (and the fauj only interferes now and then - like very often). As opposed to a Fauji Dictator having to devote 24x7 to running the country, trying to uplift the SDREs nee TFTAs lot.
2. With democracy, the fauj escapes directly talking to India, their generals don't have to give assurances to the Indian PM. Now, Nawaz Sharif is the front poster, and has no power, while the fauj doesn't have to come in the front, doesn't have to give any promises, can do their dirty things in the background - devil lives in the empty mind situation.

Finally, these status quo-ist governments in New Delhi are hurting India's interests, economically, politically, and in every other way. India NEEDS active leadership which actually has some grey matter.

ramana, Can't find the link now but one Indian newspaper report mentioned that the pakis used bunker busting ordinance and the poor guy died inside the bunker because of shrapnel injuries.
