Airspace violation: 2 Indian fighter planes enter Pakistan territory
SIALKOT: Two Indian fighter planes entered Pakistan’s airspace near Head Sulemanki border, Express News reported on Tuesday.
According to initial details, the fighter planes entered Pakistani territory at around 10:41am and stayed there for around two minutes.
The planes were reportedly five to seven miles inside Pakistan.

As soon as the violation occurred, the air traffic controller signaled the planes for a sign explaining the move. When no signal was sent back, the air traffic controller informed Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
While PAF was preparing to respond, the Indian planes had left.

Express tribune has an editorial today on how concerning it is that Modi got elevated. Apparently it is bad for India-Pakistan relationship. Wonder if the paper shared the same concern when Musharraf got elevated. After all he had waged war on India.

^^^

The agreement was for combat aircraft's to stay 100 kns from the IB. If they strayed over the TSP side of the IB. It is quite an act by India.

Hindu lawmaker in Pakistan raises fears of his community's exodus - Business Line
A Hindu legislator has cautioned Pakistan’s new government about a possible exodus of members of his minority community and called for quick and effective legislation to safeguard their rights, according to a media report today.

Mahesh Malani, the only non-Muslim elected to the Sindh Assembly from Tharparkar, claimed discrimination against Hindus, the country’s largest minority group, was forcing them to migrate to “safer places”.

“The increasing sense of insecurity, caused by issues like forced conversion of Hindu girls to Islam, is compelling the community members to migrate to other places (like India),” Malani was quoted as saying by The Express Tribune.

Malani, who contested the May 11 polls as a candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party, has been pushing for a proposed law seeking registration of Hindu marriages since 2008.

He said the new government should form committees in every district to deal with the problems of minorities.

These committees should comprise Muslims, non-Muslims and members of the Council of Islamic Ideology and they should take up cases related to alleged forced conversions and forced marriages.

Rampant poverty is the main reason behind such incidents, particularly in Sindh where Hindus make up a substantial chunk of the population, he said.

Some Hindu businessmen are shifting their businesses due to the lawlessness in Pakistan’s largest city of Karachi, Malani said.

Since September last year, nearly 1,000 Hindu families have been struggling to migrate to India, the report claimed.

Some of them succeeded in making their way to India, a “development likely to raise questions about Pakistan’s ability to protect its religious minorities”, it said.

Several Hindu welfare organisations at Jodhpur in Rajasthan, which shares a border with Sindh, extended their support to Pakistani migrants, said Ramesh Jaipal of Hare Rama Foundation.

Leaders of the Hindu community had taken up the issue with Pakistan’s Supreme Court, which ordered the implementation of laws to address the concerns of minorities, Jaipal said.

“The existing laws should be implemented to protect their rights -- this was the court’s order,” said Malani, who earlier served as a parliamentarian in a seat reserved for minorities.

Nine legislators currently represent minorities in the Sindh Assembly, eight in the Punjab Assembly and three each in the legislatures of Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

pakeezah jealous with indian culture. She should understand that her forefathers shed blood and homes to get the pak sarzameen and created this ijlamic utopia
VIEW : Time for dhamal — Ishrat Saleem
An entire generation in Pakistan grew up without appreciation of dance as a creative expression. Could there be a link between the spread of violence, intolerance and extremism and the suppression of the performing arts?
isnt singing and dancing not allowed in malsi? how can she question the biggest book on peace ever written
I was deeply moved and quite impressed how Indian culture elevated dance as a respected art form and unleashed immense talent among its people. Not so in Pakistan.
:((
I grew up in a fairly conservative family, where everyone liked to watch dance, but made it a point to condemn it as un-Islamic. Chitrahaar, featuring songs from Bollywood flicks, was hugely popular with the young and old alike in the 1980s. But whenever an elder in my family wanted to express his/her religiosity, he/she would discourage watching Chitrahaar, because most songs featured dance sequences. Chitrahaar attracted an even bigger audience in Pakistan because
One of them is Beena Jawad, who learned and taught kathak in an atmosphere where the state actively discouraged performing arts. I remember interviewing her for a magazine a few years ago. Her deep insights about dance as an artistic expression opened new avenues of thought about performing arts and their power in my mind. She said that Muslim rulers of the subcontinent treated dance as a pastime, not as an art. They liked dance, but looked down upon dancers. The double standards of Muslims were inherited by Pakistanis after the partition. We like to watch dance, but do not allow our children to pursue it seriously or make it a profession. The conflict of what we are really attracted to with our social values had grave consequences.

US to host TSP-West Indies T20 series
AoA.
The Pakistan and the West Indies Cricket Boards have reached an agreement to play a T20 international series in the United States in July this year.

According to PCB sources, the two boards have agreed to organise a two-match series in Miami and Florida after Pakistan team’s tour to West Indies in July.

The source, however, admitted that one of the biggest hurdles in way of the two matches being held in Miami was getting visas on time for the Pakistani players.

He pointed out that after the 9/11 incident the US embassies took time to process visa applications from Pakistani nationals.

British report reveals Israel's security exports to Pakistan - Dawn

Israel has exported security equipment over the past five years to Pakistan and four Arab countries, Israeli newspaper Haaretz quoted a British government report as saying.

However, a spokesman of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) categorically denied the news report saying it was “misleading” and “not based on facts”.

The report says that in addition to Pakistan, Israel has exported arms and security equipment to Egypt, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco.

The report deals with British government permits for arms and security equipment exports and was released by Britain’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

The department oversees security exports and publishes regular reports on permits granted or denied to purchase arms, military equipment or civilian items that are monitored.

Haaretz reported that from January 2008 to December 2012, British authorities processed hundreds of Israeli applications to purchase military items containing British components for use by the Israel Defence Forces, or to go into systems exported to third countries.

The UK government reports also list the countries to which Israel sought to export the items. Among Israel’s clients are countries with which it does not have diplomatic ties.

The report says that in 2011 Israel sought to purchase British components to export radar systems to Pakistan, as well as electronic warfare systems, Head-up Cockpit Displays ‏(HUD‏), parts for fighter jets and aircraft engines, optic target acquisition systems, components of training aircraft, and military electronic systems.

Prior to that, in 2010, Israel applied for permits to export electronic warfare systems and HUDs with components from Britain to Pakistan.

Pakistan women cricketers level harassment charges against seniors
According to women cricketers, some officials, including a coach, had demanded sexual favours for selecting and promoting them.
They claimed that MCC President Begum Shami Sultan and other club officials were the main culprits in the whole shameful affair and used to demand money from players.
One of the girls even provoked the official, who was taken on beeper by the channel, to answer the allegations against him.

"Tell the truth, just tell everyone why your wife came down to the ground and slapped you in front of everyone," she said. :rotfl: :rotfl:

The 150km stay away zone applies only in Kashmir borders. Negotiated by Sardar Swaran Singh after 1965 war.
It doesnt apply to other areas.

The message perhaps was despite the recent Bison crash they are still combat worthy with the TSP radars picking them up late in the game so the Mig-21 squadrons shouldn't be discounted and they shouldn't get any ideas. The non grounding of Mig-21 fleet more or less is acceptance of the cause as age related.

Indeed, the Lords must be praised for small mercies that the paedophile Mohammadden gangs in the UK whose members trace their heritage to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan are not being called "Asian". For good measure, here is one more article that eschews the use of the term "Asian" in favour of the term "Pakistani":

The Blood Telegram: Nixon, Kissinger, and a Forgotten Genocide
Gary J. Bass (Author)
Book Description
Release date: September 24, 2013
A riveting history--the first full account--of the involvement of Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger in the 1971 atrocities in Bangladesh that led to war between India and Pakistan, shaped the fate of Asia, and left in its wake a host of major strategic consequences for the world today.

Drawing on recently declassified documents, unheard White House tapes, and investigative reporting, Gary Bass gives us an unprecedented chronicle of a crucial but little-known chapter of the Cold War. He shows how Nixon and Kissinger supported Pakistan's military dictatorship as it brutally quashed the results of a historic free election. The Pakistani army launched a crackdown on what was then East Pakistan (today an independent Bangladesh), killing hundreds of thousands of people, and sending ten million refugees fleeing into India--one of the worst humanitarian crises of the twentieth century. It soon sparked a major war. But Nixon and Kissinger remained untroubled by Pakistan's massacres, secretly encouraged China to mass troops on the Indian border, and illegally supplied weapons to the Pakistani military--an unknown scandal that presages Watergate. And Bass makes clear how the United States's embrace of the military dictatorship in Islamabad would affect geopolitics for decades. A revelatory, compulsively readable work of essential recent history.

India Disputes Pakistani Claim on Roerich Paintings - The Hindu
Legendary Russian artist Nicholas Roerich could not have imagined that two of his precious paintings would one day become a bone of contention between a Pakistani, who claims matinee idol Devika Rani gifted them to his grandfather Nazir Ahmed Khan, a known actor in the pre-Partition Hindi film industry, and the Indian government in a British court of law.

There are interesting twists and turns in this whole drama. The name of actor Devika Rani, daughter-in-law of Nicholas Roerich, cropped up and was used by Zahid Nazir to bolster his claim that the late actor had gifted Roerich’s two outstanding artistic impressions to his grandfather Nazir Ahmed Khan, who was brother-in-law of filmmaker K. Asif.

Indeed, Nazir Ahmed Khan worked in a number of Indian and Pakistani films. He was one of the first successful heroes in pre-Partition India and later migrated to the then newly formed Islamic country after his studio in Bombay was burnt down during the Partition riots.

Devika Rani was married to the famous Russian painter’s son Svetoslav Roerich and naturally as daughter-in-law of the famous artist she must have inherited his prized possessions – art works.

While there is a possibility that she may have gifted the two artistic impressions to actor Nazir Ahmed Khan, the two paintings titled “Himalaya Kanchenjunga” and “Sunset Kashmir” were the prized possessions of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) on Pusa Road before they were stolen in 2009. Subsequently, the work of art landed up at auction house Sotheby’s.

Talking to The Hindu , a former Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Secretary rubbished the Pakistani’s claim. “We cannot take Nazir’s claim that Roerich’s paintings had been lying at his Lahore house in seriousness because they were our property till they were stolen. Roerich Museum (St. Petersburg) director Krylov had seen the paintings at IARI in 1999 and Roerich Museum New York curator Tepsa had also testified that the paintings were the property of IARI.

However, the IARI came to know about the disappearance of the two paintings when Sotheby’s sent a letter “either in 2010 or 2011 informing that it had verified from the Roerich Museum of New York that the two paintings indeed belonged to the IARI. But the IARI did not inform the ICAR. When we came to know through informal sources we jumped into action.”

To pursue the matter in all seriousness, a team comprising the CBI, IARI and ICAR went to the United Kingdom to meet lawyers and work out modalities to bring the national heritage back home. “The matter is in the British court even now. We are fighting the case,” says IARI Director H.S. Gupta. Each of the priceless treasure trove costs over £2 million.

In fact, a Delhi court recently asked the U.K. Home Department to allow the CBI to probe the case of Roerich’s paintings being stolen from the IARI and presented to a London auction house by a Pakistani and a British resident.

It came to the IARI’s notice that the two paintings were presented to Sotheby’s for auction by Zahid Nazir, a resident of Pakistan, and his father Rafay Nazir Khan, who lives in London.

After the matter came to the notice of Indian authorities, the attorney of Zahid Nazir and Rafay Nazir Khan wrote to the IARI Director on May 16, 2011, claiming that they were the owners and consignees of the two paintings. And the paintings have been in the family ownership since at least late 1960s or early 1970s and were kept at their family home in Lahore until they were shifted to Sotheby’s in 2010.
What a bunch of inveterate and unashamed liars, these Pakis.

I have not seen this video but Mullah Mulayam singh also about an 2 year back had proposed something like that(Mind you these so called secular gangs don't operate alone). This wouldn't come as surprise if what Mulla mulayam proposed had been in active serious consideration by Sonia and her gang just before 26\11 happened.
And Mulayam took this leaf from Sonia's book and made this announcement before Sonia could milk this to his own advantage.

Introducing trams in our cities
HAVING spent a few days in Istanbul recently, I got a chance to see their impressive transportation system which ensures the movement of the city’s 14-million inhabitants from one place to another. It is a transcontinental city, straddling the Bosphorus — one of the world’s busiest waterways — in northwestern Turkey, between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea.

Istanbul as of last year was the world’s fifth most visited tourist destination with 11 million plus visitors in 2012.

Geographically, Istanbul is situated on seven hills and because of its topography its roads are laid out in the form of steps which makes it even more challenging to establish a mass transit system for the city’s residents and ever-increasing number of tourists.

To address the challenge, Istanbul’s municipal authorities have established a tram system which runs across the city’s main roads and streets. No matter how narrow the road, there is always room for tram. The same road is also used by other vehicular traffic when a tram is not around, thus ensuring the most efficient use of the city’s resources.

Instead of launching more projects like ‘Metro Bus’ which require monthly subsidy from the government and more budget to manage administrative expenses, the government should consider launching a tram system in cities like Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Peshawar.

It would help millions of residents to move from one place to another without having to take out their cars or rely upon the expensive and inefficient private transport buses. Besides, it will substantially ease rush hours as well

I thought that Ved Prakash Vaidik lays it out nicely to TSP.
His language is very smooth and refined. He does not cause any offense, but his message is direct and blunt.
He talks about casteism in Pakistan, even says that if you guys being muslims still practice casteism, why did you all convert to islam hain ji?
He correctly diagnoses the Afghanistan issue, even though his solutions are a little bit == and more suitable for the ideal world. They are not crazy dreamy solutions.
His line on Balochistan is nicely put.
His line on Kashmir is very blunt to pakistan.

CRS-ji, that video is worth watching, they guy is pretty smooth.

IMO, Pak Punjabis are used to chest thumping type of aggressive articulation to get their audio/visual cues about what the point being made is and how forceful the point is. This Injun habit of making a strong point/slipping in the knife subtly and in a gentle way w/o giving any audio visual cues takes them off guard :)

I liked how he said if you try to take Kabul you will lose Peshawar. But can't stand what he said about the Taliban. There is no excuse for anything Taliban says or professes- there is no point to be made there and he was totally wrong.

Note(rant) below: My personal fake-sociological summary of all India-Pak communications dating back to proto-Pak days(before independence) is that Indians think talking constructively is the way to persuade Pakistanis(and proto-Pakistanis) to see the errors of their ways and begin to make rational choices.

But but but Pakistanis (and protoPakistanis before them) take the wrong cues from the constructive talk and mistake it as greater freedom to do what they choose. Indians must be more forceful not just about what they would like but also be forceful about what they dislike. This guy should have said things about persecution of various communities in Pakistan(for instance). He should have made them feel uncomfortable by saying a number of uncomfortable things as well.

Indians should always make sure to draw lines that Pakistanis know they can not cross with Indians. Otherwise Pakistanis are at best confused at worst deluded and all of Indians' efforts at persuasion are futile.

sadhan, It goes back to Islam reinforcing the reptilian brain I talked about. To communicate with such a brain you need to have simple messages or destroy their power frame.

I think it was tragedy that Maharaja Ranjit Singh died and left no able successors.

The simple message approach was used by Guru Nanakji and the destory power frame was used by Ranjit Singh. His early death did not leave scope for continuing the treatment.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's new government announced Wednesday a 10 per cent increase in defence spending a week after taking office, despite a crippling budget deficit of 8.8 per cent. The budget for fiscal year 2013-14, which begins July 1, comes against a backdrop of weak economic growth, high inflation, dwindling foreign exchange reserves and unprecedented power cuts. But the new budget earmarked 627 billion rupees ($6.3 billion) for defence, a 10 per cent increase compared to 570 billion rupees in the outgoing year, ending June 30.Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took office last week after winning the May 11 elections, which marked an historic transition of democratic power in a country ruled half its life by the military. The military is the most powerful institution in Pakistan. Sharif has in the past had troubled relations with the army, which in 1999 deposed him in a bloodless coup.Finance minister Ishaq Dar told the National Assembly that the government would clear $5 billion in circular debt from the energy sector within the next 60 days.“This will greatly help minimise power cuts in the country,” Dar said, giving no details on how the government would find the money to pay the bills.Years of mismanagement, under-investment and corruption cause blackouts of up to 20 hours a day in blistering summer heat, when temperatures reach up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit).Pakistan is still paying off a $11.3 billion International Monetary Fund loan from 2008. Analysts believe the government must return to the lender to stave off a balance of payments crisis.“

ramana Ji :

With One Pak Rupee = One US Cent, Pakistan neither needs to Print Bank Notes nor mint Coins.

As such the US Dollar will become the Official Currency of Pakistan!

Towards the end ghazi Sher-Dill was squirming to end the whole interview. :rotfl: Poor fella thought he had got hold of some typical Indian WKK only to be blindsided by hits coming from the left field.

What is incredible is that with just $6.3 billion USD they are able to maintain such a large standing army, carry out their espionage operations, missile development, etc, etc. It seems impossible. I'm sure the "official" budget and the income from various military "enterprises" in Pakistan would bring in substantially more money.

$6.3 billion to maintain a 600,000 plus active force with another 500,000 paramilitary is quite remarkable. Do the Pakistani "jawans" work for food and lodging only because there is no way they are paying all those guys salaries, pensions, medical, etc and then finding money to maintain existing equipment AND buy new equipment !!

Even Singapore, Iran, Taiwan, Poland and Greece spend more and they have less than half the forces that Pakistan has, let's not forget about the nuclear weapons program.

Bugti murder case: Quetta police team in Islamabad to arrest Musharraf

QUETTA: A team from Crimes Branch Quetta reached Islamabad on Wednesday to arrest former president Pervez Musharraf in the Akbar Bugti murder case.Sources in Crimes Branch Quetta investigating the case told Dawn.com that a police team comprising senior officials had reached the federal capital to arrest the former military ruler. Earlier on Monday, an Anti-Terrorist Court in Quetta had issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Musharraf. Moreover, on Tuesday, ATC Judge 1, Muhammad Ismail Baloch, had rejected a bail application submitted by Musharraf's lawyer in the same case. The court had moreover ordered a police team to arrest Musharraf by June 24. Jamil Bugti, a son of Akbar Bugti, had nominated Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and others in his father's murder.Bugti was killed in a cave in Chalgri area of Bhamboor hills of Dera Bugti district on August 26, 2006 during a military crackdown ordered by Musharraf who was president and army chief at the time

The major part of Pakistani GDP is narcotics. Thus, Pakistan's economic failure cannot be put in perspective without considering the black economy, particularly inflows from narcotics trade. ISI is a major player in it, and the Taliban encouraged it.

I think it was tragedy that Maharaja Ranjit Singh died and left no able successors.

The simple message approach was used by Guru Nanakji and the destory power frame was used by Ranjit Singh. His early death did not leave scope for continuing the treatment.
ramana, yup. IMO, anyone trying to get Pakistanis to 'see the bigger picture and make rational decisions in self-interest' is misleading themselves.

IMO, the only thing that would cause Pak Punjabis(and Pak establishment/elite) to act in rational self-interest in any matter is coercion. In other words, the only time a rational choice is made by them is when there is no other option except save their own skins. (saving one's skin is a rational choice in one's self-interest)

When coercion ends, they go back to pursuing their irrational delusions.

Coercion is how Pak establishment and elite remain at top of the pile. That's why military dictators are popular - they use coercion "for good". So do jihadis. That's why minority groups, including smaller provinces have a hard time - they have diminished coercive powers compared to Pak Punjabis/Pak establishment.

Now either Pak public can be induced to "reverse coerce" Pak establishment/Army/religious extremists or some foreign entity has to do it. Pakistanis' affinity for coercion means that any 'bigger picture' which does not have them in position of dominance over everyone is difficult to sell. Indians like Mr. Vaidik by stressing 'bigger picture' thinking can only influence Pak public in a 50-100 years long project, if at all.
