Stretching the Tush
Ik Ram Such Gal
Sah Gal is Former POW Who Surrendered Bravely in 71
Besides the recent dastardly attacks on policemen and Rangers in Karachi, the TTP brutally beheaded 23 Frontier Corps men who had been in its custody in Afghanistan. Why are we talking to these sadistic murderers when they are not going to stop their atrocities and, more importantly, does their negotiating committee really have the mandate to represent most of the terrorist factions? ( Hope TTP did not miss the special Islamic prayer done over the head of soon to be Beheaded person Other wise slaughter wont be acceptable in the eyes of their Lord and Sadka will be denied )

One does not question the TTP’s capability for sporadic violence, particularly against the defenceless, but one does question its ability to exercise influence, let alone control, over all the terrorist factions, especially when those with criminal intent far outnumber those with ideological ambitions. They could be telling the truth when they denied the repeated bomb attacks that killed and injured many people in a Peshawar Cinema. We may have peace with one of the TTP factions, but what about all the other terrorists of various ilk running amok? Will the ceasefire also apply to them? And how will we differentiate? The handsome Major Jahanzeb Adnan Shaheed’s photograph in the media was haunting, a heartrending reminder about the 4,500 soldiers killed and or 15,000 severely injured in the last decade. Why is the army rank and file rendering this ultimate sacrifice on a daily basis? They need a clear declaration of intent. This appeasement encouraged the recent venomous fulminations of a member of the Taliban-named negotiating committee, Maulana Abdul Aziz of the Lal Masjid notoriety. Has anyone forgotten the automatic rifles, machine guns, mortars, rocket launchers, landmines, grenades etc that he and his late brother had secreted in the Lal Masjid? And for what purpose? ( Aint they Considered Ghaziullu's carnation kind ornaments in Bakistan)
People conveniently forgot SSG’s Lt-Col Haroon Shaheed being killed with a shot in the neck and another officer badly wounded by a sniper rifle using a night vision device. What was the need for such sophisticated weapons for those holed up inside Lal Masjid if their intentions were peaceful? And why did nearly more than a dozen of our SSG boys die clearing the mosque of the militants, not to count over 50 badly injured? Were those inside the Lal Masjid throwing flowers at them? People (and the media) conveniently forget that anarchy was staring us in the face if the military operation to rid this armed menace from our capital city had not succeeded. And do listen to the ‘mullah in a burqa’ when he threatens that 600 female bombers are ready in Fata. Is that not a declaration of war on society and the state? Maybe Bilawal’s rhetoric is sincere and like most politicians he is not stretching the truth. The government’s negotiating committee should have conveyed enough about the terrorists’ intransigence and double talk to the PM for him to give a clear green signal to go after the militants no-holds barred. All armies go into battle with the ultimate objective of attaining peace; that is the purpose of any war. Even with or without a complete victory, peace is a viable proportion to avoid further bloodshed and destruction. Unfortunately that can only be achieved by declaring total war against the Pashtun Civilians like done in Banglasesh .

You know why I am all :rotfl:

Taliban-Pakistan is just like Pakistan-India.

India is clueless on how to deal with Pakistan. There is a A Monkey Ayesha faction in India whose sole purpose is to get India involved in uninterrupted and uninterruptible talks all the while when Pakistan continues to conduct terror attacks.

Pakistan is clueless on how to deal with Taliban. In Pakistan there is Imran Khan's A Monkey Ayesha with TTP while TTP continues to bomb and kill.

Just like India, Pakistan is clueless on how to deal with a bunch of maximalist hooligans whole ultimate aim is the establishment of a caliphate and who wont accept anything less than that. India-Pakistan talks start off with Pakistan demanding J&K as step 1, followed by disintegration of India and Pakistan's takeover as step 2. Taliban-Pakistan talks start off with Taliban demanding Sharia in all of Pakistan, followed by Taliban takeover as step 2.

On top of that, Just like how nobody seems to be in control of Pakistan (civilians? Army? ISI? Myriad jihadi groups?) nobody seems to be in control of the Taliban. One faction piously reiterates its commitment to talks, while the other faction is busy setting off bombs. There seems to be retired/rogue Non-state-actor taliban too!

There is one tiny bit of a difference though. When people say in talk shows in Pakistan that Sharia is a bad idea, they have angry callers demanding to know why it is a bad idea  A honest appraisal in Pakistan will actually show that most people prefer the Sharia snake oil sold by the TTP.

My sources tell me that a grandmother was the reason for the latest Pakistan-TTP flare up. A grandmother crossed the heavily guarded Islamic Emirate of Waziristan-Pakistan border to join her grandsons working in Pakistan. Taken aback by the vulnerability of the border, Pakistan started building a bunker.

Then the Taliban announced through a loudspeaker for violating ceasefire terms of not building any bunker less than 500 meters from the border. Pakistan ignored this and continued construction. Then firing broke out in the area. Tensions have been running high, with Taliban alleging that Pakistan killed a Shura member in a raid. In retaliation, TTP might have beheaded a Pakistani soldier.

Pakistan acted in a restrained manner, but this lead to escalations with regular ceasefire violations by both sides. Spiralling out of control, it resulted in TTP beheading 23 FC soldiers. There is plenty of blame to go around in both sides.

For the sake of peace in South Asia, the political leadership of TTP as well as Pakistan need to leash their hawks and armed faction and restore the peace talks.

Islamabad declared ‘extremely dangerous’
ISLAMABAD Country’s capital has been declared as “extremely dangerous” by the interior ministry due to the presence of sleeper cells of banned terror groups, including Al Qaeda, TTP and Lashkare Jahngvi (LeJ), said a report on Wednesday.

Banned outfits of TTP and LeJ are a real threat in Punjab while the target killers, Al Qaeda and LeJ are targeting Sindh, Geo TV reported. The interior ministry report will be presented before the standing committee of National Assembly.

The capital was recently put on high alert for nearly a week after a suicide bomb blast in Rawalpindi last month.

Alerts were sent out to all embassies and high commissions here. The embassies had warned its citizens here to avoid a number of places in the capital.

India waging ‘cold war’ against Pakistan
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Thursday alleged India of waging ‘cold war’ against it through Afghanistan and stoking terrorism inside the country through proxies.
Country’s interior ministry, in a briefing to a parliamentary panel here on Wednesday, also said that some proscribed outfits operating inside Pakistan had become a ‘real threat’ to the country’s national security.
In its briefing to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior, the ministry said that banned outfits, especially Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP), Al-Qaeda al-Alami (AQA) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), posed a real threat not only in the turbulent areas but in all the four provinces as well as the federal capital.
In the meeting held under the chairmanship of Rana Shamim Ahmed, State Minister for Interior Baleegur Rahman and National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) Director General (DG) Tariq Lodhi told lawmakers that India was involved in terrorism in Balochistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
They said terrorists were sneaking into Pakistan not only from the porous Western borders but also from the Eastern border with India. Moreover, arms were being smuggled in from all sides and being supplied to the terrorists. NCMC DG told the committee that TTP, LeJ and other proscribed organisations had become a real threat in Punjab while Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) had been declared the most dangerous area where AQA, TTP and LeJ had established their sleeping cells. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) are already under attack from TTP, AQA, LeJ and other foreign sponsored terrorists.
Tariq Lodhi said that Gilgit Baltistan was threatened by AQA, TTP and LeJ while Azad Jammu Kashmir was facing Indian sponsored terrorism. “Sindh is facing threats from militant nationalists, ethnic terrorists, target killers and criminal syndicates, TTP, AQA and LeJ, while Balochistan is under threat from AQA, TTP, LeJ and13 outlawed Baloch militant groups,” he said. Foreign agencies were funding insurgents in Balochistan.

Karachi enforces ban on music in public transport

One small step towards sharia a giant leap for telibunistan
Traffic police in Karachi said Thursday they have launched a campaign to stop music being played in public transport due to complaints from women.

The authorities denied the move was in response to a reported warning from the Taliban, who consider music sinful according to their fundamentalist interpretation of Islam.

“No there was no threat to the traffic police from anyone, it is entirely baseless,” Arif Hanif, Karachi traffic police chief AFP.

“We only got complaints from the women commuters and nothing else,” Hanif said.

“And the campaign is aimed at the implementation of the law as the rules prohibit playing music in public transport,” he said.

The congested roads of the chaotic city of 20 million are plied by a variety of public transport vehicles including buses, rickshaws and taxis.

Drivers caught playing music will be fined and music players will be confiscated under the crackdown. The Pakistan Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) launched an insurgency seven years ago that has claimed nearly 7,000 lives.

so much heart burn

Cricket history
AS glowing tributes poured in from all quarters for Sachin Tendulkar who retired from international cricket recently, a section of the electronic media these days is running a special documentary on the master batsman in chronological order.

However, a strange moment during the said TV programme was noticed the other day. The moderator, after highlighting 1998 as one of the most productive years for Tendulkar in international cricket contests, gave just a ‘momentary’ mention about Tendulkar’s show during Pakistan’s high-profile and long tour to India, starting in January 1999, and ‘jumped’ to the batsman’s performance in the 1999 World Cup.

And while the moderator ignored giving appropriate time to Pakistan’s landmark visit, more astonishing was that former Indian captains Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid, present in the programme and both of whom had faced Pakistan in the aforementioned series, also opted to remain ‘selective’ on Tendulkar’s willow work in matches against Pakistan during that series. Astonishing indeed!

In that series in India, Wasim Akram-led visitors played three Tests followed by a tri-nation series, also involving Sri Lanka. Not to forget it was Tendulkar’s first-ever home Test series against Pakistan which were playing a Test series against their arch-rivals after almost 10 years.

Still the whole of it was neglected by the three men present in the programme.

Why? Perhaps because Pakistan won two of the three Tests played on Indian soil, besides clinching the tri-nation series, outclassing India in the final by 123 runs at Bangalore.

Or perhaps because Shoaib Akhtar’s sizzling in-swinging yorker uprooted Tendulkar’s middle stump at a jam-packed Eden Gardens in Kolkata, handing the batsman the very first golden duck of his otherwise illustrious Test career.

Known and recorded historical facts in any sport cannot be denied by hiding, neglecting or disregarding those, no matter how much one tries.

Jammu and Kashmir: AJK president hints at ‘third option’ talks
Kya Khyal Hai Aapka?Ullu Baata Yaan Kutte Ki poonch

JOKERABAD: AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan on Wednesday hinted that Pakistan was ready to talk with India on the option of carving out an independent state of Jammu and Kashmir.“We are ready to consider the option, if India comes to the negotiating table and puts forward the idea of giving Indian Held Kashmir (IHC) independent status,” the president remarked in what appears to be a major policy shift. He was speaking with a group of reporters after his meeting with Muhammad Afzal Khan, who is contesting the upcoming elections of the European Union from the UK, and Manchester Lord Mayor Naeemul Hassan.
The option of an independent state of Jammu and Kashmir had always been a contentious issue amongst the Kashmiris themselves and in India and Pakistan. Under the AJK interim constitution, even those who believe in the idea of an independent Kashmir were barred from taking part in the AJK legislative assembly elections. The AJK president said Pakistan was sincere in wanting to resolve the Kashmir issue. “These things (discussing options) are only possible when India comes to the negotiating table and admits that Kashmir is a disputed territory,” he added. “If India agrees to give IHC independence status, we can also think (along these lines),” he told another questioner. To a question about the possibility of the BJP coming to power in India and its impact on the Kashmir issue, the AJK president said he was more hopeful of a resolution to the issue with the BJP in power. “Congress has never shown any seriousness (to resolve the issue),” he remarked. He said once NATO forces begin drawing back from Afghanistan, the Kashmir issue will once again become important. He said Afghanistan had overshadowed the Kashmir issue for the past 10 years.Earlier, Afzal Khan, a British Pakistani who is one of the promising candidates to secure a seat in the European Parliament, said the EU should play its role to resolve the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan. He said the EU should appoint a focal person on Kashmir just as it appointed Catherine Ashton, the EU’s top foreign policy official, to lead talks that led to the current deal over Iran’s nuclear programme.

PM, military link resumption of talks with a halt to bloodbath
ISLAMABAD : Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Thursday said the Prime Minister in consultation with the military leadership has reached a decision that * taking the Taliban peace talks any further would be unfair.*
Following a wave of terrorist attacks, Nisar said the decision has been taken that talks would only be held when acts of spilling blood would stop.
The minister said no operation has been conducted in FATA since September last year and the current strikes are being undertaken by the security forces in self efence.
*What say Mr. M S Iyer and his Ilk who want India to continue an “uninterrupted and uninterruptible” dialogue with Pakistan despite Pakistani Non-State Actors' Terrorist Attacks?

Continuing with talks would be injustice to terror victims: Nisar
...carrying on with peace talks with the bakistani taliban amid terrorist attacks throughout the country would be injustice to the victims of such attacks
So, er..., why is bakistan insisting on peace and trade talks with India? Wouldn't that (continuing talks with terroristan) be an injustice to victims of the Mumbai carnage?

And of course it was not Shoaib Aktar's Yorker but kicking Tendulkar bat which resulted in a run out and won Pakistan the match. talk about convenient memories.

Folks, this is a very subtle piece of sh!t which I think portends to the way Kashmir will be played out once the Amir Khans leave. Note the joker says: "If India agrees to give IHC independence status we can also think (along those lines). He never mentions or says the POK would also consider independence from Porkiland. He means POK leadership and their Porki master can consider this option for the Indian side of J&K.

I read this as saying: POK will always remain with the Pakis but Indian side of J&K can be given "independent" status for starters. Of course the sub-text is that a couple of years down the line it will be gobbled up after a nice a leisurely genocide of the non-Muslim population left.

So here's my take - and I think the presence of the Briturd Pakis shows Londonistan is on board with this - the first move will be to try and "persuade" India to give more autonomy to J&K, you know, except for foreign policy, currency and defence, J&K will be "independent". (Sounds familiar?)

Then there's going to be a massive pogrom on the non-Muslim population by "non State Pakistani actors" . Since J&K will be "independent" any robust response by the Army would be termed as "occupational force" atrocities. As a result there'll be a massive exodus of refugees, particularly from Jammu.

Once ethnic cleansing is done, a few years down the line there's going to be a cry for full Independence and there you have it. And stage three will be absorption into Porkiland.

IMO this roundabout strategy has been devised by the 3.5 fathers because they have come to realise that any open and direct pressure on India to give up J&K would result in a massive people's revolt. But a stage by stage process would give the "uninterrupted and uninterruptible" lobby in India leeway to try and take this forward.

Bottomline is this is IMO, not just rambling of a man with too much pindi channa inside him. Of course this plan is going to fail but what the hell idiots can always dream can't they, especially when they are supplied abundant hashish by their 3.5 fathers?

amit, that is the project that has been on-going since the 1930s (or, as some would say since 1906).

Yes Sridhar, on and off. But I suspect it will get a new impetus very soon.

No, not 'on and off'. There has never been any break. In one form or another it has been going on in various parts of the country. Most people do not realize, for example, the 'jihad' that has been waged continuously in J&K since 1947 without any let up at all.
