Has the BJP gone crazy? Risking Modi to a slow few hours long road show? Does anyone realize this might be the 'perfect' trap? Denying them a rally on security considerations, forcing Modi to do a roadshow where the schemers of 'Stop him at *any* cost' await. SOme in the BJP are extremely reactionary. This must be cancelled just because of the risk it entails at this juncture! 95% people anyways would have decided their votes.

Yes it is too risky and may not be worth the votes it is going to swing in the end. But from what I heard Modi will not be driving alone in a car but his usual motorcade will be there. Which means that the security personnel, mobile jammer etc will be available.

What is so special about roadshow in Varanasi ? It isn't as if it is a tight contest.
We have had enough incidents in the past to be worried about NaMo's security and like someone said, They need to get lucky just once. Why not take a well deserved rest instead.
After today, no new supporter or hater will be formed. So why take chance when you are riding the wave.

Details from this hill state are still sketchy, but early numbers suggest that BJP is ahead in two seats and Congress is ahead in 1 seat while another seat is seeing a tough battle. We shall analyse the numbers more closely over the next two days to come up with a clearer projection.

Shivering started again from the usual suspects. 1 seat in HP was always going to be a loss. 2 seem to be in the kitty, the third will also probably scrape through. There is still every likelihood of 8/9 for BJP from UT+HP.

HP was never rosy, as per my source BJP image is worst than Congi in state. They indulge in corruption like there is no tomorrow. Locals were enraged at father-son duo for selling the state to JayPee. So many river courses were changed which used to form part of their traditional prayer offerings.
Need a serious change or overhaul in BJP leadership North of Delhi for all four states including Har, Pun, HP and Jammu.

I think the value of a road show at this late stage is miniscule. It is downright foolishness. And no security can handle a roadshow of such magnitude. We are talking about thousands of people within a few meters of a High Value target. There will be anarchy if something goes wrong.

NDA would already be past the 272 mark. Modi has taken it this far. He is not needed anymore for BJP to get to power. A BJP Govt is coming to power for sure. If they cancelled his rallies for security, who would want him to do a road show at this juncture and expose him to security risks. Note Congress has nothing left, not even Snoopgate. No ammo except as KT threatened he "has to be stopped at any cost". Even the route for the road show has been publicized. Why should they do this? Give a simple rally, get it televised and be done with. Or are elements within the BJP also pushing hard for a roadshow?

The Best part of General Election 2014 to 16th Loksabha is Higher than ever Voter turnout. Urban areas have come out to vote in large numbers. educated youth have also come out. Young and first time voters have come out. Women have come out. And I refuse to believe that increased voter turnout is in favour of the Party in Power despite scams and idiocy and treachery of highest order, economic sabotage resulting in dark decade.

This will turn all psephologists on their heads with their caste oriented analysis. Voters will prove them wrong like other times when they did prove them wrong . Voters are smarter . Don't underestimate them or their desire to change.
