+1. Mods, kindly heed the call. My sense is the dhaga will jump 100 pages just between 12 and 16 may only. This dhaga is for the archives.

I can see myself looking back witnessing this revolution and talking about it to the kids when they're grown and the grandkids when they're old enough - saying "I was there when it happened". Like they talk of MLK and the civil rights movement and the anti-'Nam protests in massa these days...

Great video. Thanks. If NaMo can refurbish Varanasi and rejuvenate Ganga, it will be a stupendous achievement in Indian history. I recall my midnight walk through the narrow alleys to reach Kashi Vishwanath in time for the 3 AM MangalArati and Rudrabhishekam. The late night/early morning rituals are a great spectacle indeed, but somewhat tarnished by the dirt and filth strewn almost every step of the way up until the temple premises. Same story from Vishwanath to the Ghats. I had made up my mind to drink a few sips of Ganga water. The Nishada took me right to the middle of the Ganga and assured me it was OK to have a few sips there, no matter how much the pollution at the riverbank. Could be FIR. No two months , max punishment is two years. I doubt though. But Amethi surely should go for repoll after 16th , say 20th and counting on 23rd. So that New returned candidate reaches well before 28th when LS will be constituted.

BTW if Rahul G is put in prison for a token period, and a certain Smriti IRani win annulled in Amethi, there could very well be a sympathy wave in Amethi for Rahul. Or was that his intention..muddying a certain BJP win in Amethi?

The point giving refuge to those under religious persecution has to be taken with a massive pinch of salt. Every Muslim in Pakistan or under Sharia or in Somalia is under religious persecution. Ahmedi's, Shia's are in 10's of millions. We cannot give shelter to those that chose a country created out of Indian soil on grounds they cannot coexist with Dharmics. That should NEVER happen. THe very foundation that Bangladesh and Pakistan were formed was that Muslims cannot coexist with Dharmics. Then how is it possible to allow those very Muslims who went and endorsed that to be allowed refugee status because not they cannot exist with other Muslims? Do we really want to screw our future. I think this point should be made blatantly clear. And if they shove the Secular card, time to remove Secular and insert the word Dharmic which should have been done in Jan 1951 itself.

It's a fine line, like everything else is life, like Arjuna once said fear is necessary for that keeps a human alert. Dhoti-shibber is necessary for that keeps an SDRE thinking about threats and on his toes. But there is also a next step, in that Dhoti shibber should not become impediment to action, instead just used to cover the risks and increase chances of success. Thinking like a successful civilization is pre-requisite before becoming one.

That Muslims in India have equal rights to others is one thing. But it's a bit of a stretch to think Muslims in other countries have the same rights as Dharmics in seeking refuge here. That is not required, neither constitutionally nor morally. WHen they have not taken the theka in their countries that Muslims and Dharmics have same rights, why do we give those very Muslims the same rights to refuge as Dharmics? Utter idiocy.
