So are these journos camping relying on some comments/feedback from other staff placed at the counting centers? EC is relying purely on the counting staff - who may NOT be speaking to the media at all. And EC web site is getting updates once every 5 minutes. So is the MSM "jumping the gun" ?

ECI updates only after all formalities of counting of rounds is completed. But if they have counting booth data, they will be more up to date.

yes we have boothwise data as well and we know where leads are going to come from.Remember we have 6.7 Mn eyes and ears on the ground in this election.

All ECI leads come direct from counting results cerified anf frozen for that round and booth. So it is gold standard.

Harbans ji,

BJP is not winning a single muslims majority seat in UP, they are winning seats which have less than 40% muslim pop due to hindu consolidation. MUSLIMS HAVE NOT VOTED FOR BJP. The sooner BJP realizes this, the better it is.

They have won a couple of muslim dominated seats because sickular parties all put muslim candidates and peaceful vote split.

A dream come true. Never imagined in my life that this day could come. Its a historic day.
Now, that first phase is over - the delivery phase starts. I am sure Modi would be able to deliver - expectations are very high!
Now, that he has unfettered majority of BJP on its own - may he has a long and healthy life and able to deliver.

Looks like today is a special day where any wish can be granted so I go ahead and wish - that we see the redux in 2019 and 2024 as well!
