If IBNlive data is to be believed, there can be no doubt that the people of India want the NDA in power - their total voteshare so far is 54%! UPA comes second with 23% but very low seat conversion, while others have 19% but comparatively high regional seat conversion. The election marks the political death of the left - they have 3% voteshare.

PDP are lighter form of Kashmiri Islamic separatists while Azad was not a Kashmiri (belonged to Jammu) and never had any base in J&K. He was one of those who were always in Govt without any ideology or base.

Back in 2009, I went and saw a desolate BJP office in Chennai and enrolled as a member. Today I have not bothered to go there, I am sure there will be a lot of people there. In the intervening years my little experiments in joining political discourse actively has just been that....experiments. Today, I believe is historic in many ways. Will share thoughts later on the same. I am happy that nationalist forces have redeemed Bharat for all of us.

A war has been won. Great expectations beckons. Power brings with it responsibility. Great power brings with it Great responsibility. Power is also a manifestation of the great enchantress Maya. With it comes ego, delusion, wealth, hubris, flatterers, opportunists, vested interests. It is the feeling of responsibility that power can actually translate into realization of hope.

May God continue to grant Shri Modi that discerning wisdom and may his supporters be filled with a sense of duty rather euphoria. Mother India needs this spirit of Stithapragnya and karma yoga to manifest in its leaders so that she can take her rightful place in the World.

In my own constituency, of South Chennai, BJP has not made it. But I do have the satisfaction of voting for the right party if not the winning party.

Just 43,000 more votes to be counted in Tvm.
Booths are from vatiyoorkavu, Poonthura, Kannanmoola, Ulloor. Except for Poonthura, all are Hindu dominated and left leaning IIRC.

NDTV reports NDA at 341 seats, BJP alone at 288. UPA is 57 with INC alone leading/won just 45. Others add up to 144 - ADMK has 36, TMC 33 and BJD 17.

It looks like there will be no official opposition party at all in this parliament. At least 55 seats required to accomplish that.

http://www.ndtv.com/elections/general-e ... s-2014/kar

interesting map of karnataka.

INC has 8 seats including BLR rural.

BJP should claim chikaballapur and all the 3 blr urban seats. take a look at blr south....it is very tiny...must be one of the smallest lok sabha areas.
