A little OT, Saw the finale of Arrow last night where the protagonist who has been broken by the villain in more ways than he could possibly count thanks the villain for transforming him into the hero he is now.

Thank you MMS for crushing India so badly that NM was able to break the myth. That only coalitions can work in India.

I wait with bated breath. Where will India be in 2019. Will I finally be able to buy land in Kashmir?

BTW, what are the "certified secular" gang of India, the commies doing all this while? Not a single response on them? Where is P.Karat and S.Yechury? Off to China or Moscow? Or standing in front of their office in New Delhi calling minor parties who have one to join them, to make another rattle-trap coalition?

No, Suraj. He won 7305 votes last time. If he has won only 6.5K votes, it means that NaMo's health schemes are working in the area

the UPA + all others would end up around 200 I guess.

so all talk of any other front has been flushed down the round white filing cabinet, taking it with the PM dreams of Didi and Nikumma as well.

BTW, saw it on the AAP thread. Nandan Nilekani the Messiah of IT folks have lost. It is Ananth Kumar again. So now that begs the question, will Narayana Murthy also board the "Intellectual Special" leaving SBC soon?

Finally what Chatrapati Shivaji , Bajirao , Hemu and Baghel Singh could not do, Sri Narendra Modi has achieved that.
He has won Delhi for Hindus and is going to rule India in true Indic way. After all these false dawns,
The Sun has risen from Gujarat, the Land of Sri Krishna.
Never before there was so much love and anticipation for the upcoming ruler. What a man with clear vision,
thought and ability to rule. Who else but him.
In hindsight, I am so thankful that BJP lost in 2009 otherwise NaMo would not have got chance to rise up the ladder and D4 would have blocked him at every point while evil deeds of Congress would not have been exposed.
This victory tastes sweeter because NaMo is going to be the leader and PM and not the old hog LKA or SS.

Guess it would NOT be required in Kerala? One place where INC has managed to get/lead at around 10 seats, plus a few allies as well have won/leading?

interesting map of karnataka.

INC has 8 seats including BLR rural.

BJP should claim chikaballapur and all the 3 blr urban seats. take a look at blr south....it is very tiny...must be one of the smallest lok sabha areas.
My adopted constituency..Except for one rally by Malasi youths, I did not find anything that could point to NN fighting elections here.

In any election between 1989 and 2009, three parties with 45, 36 and 33 seats respectively would have been a formidable kingmaker or nuisance value combination. This time they - INC, ADMK and TMC respectively - amount to nothing more than gentle puppies promising good behavior onlee. INC doesn't even look like it will win the 55 seats needed to be officially considered an opposition party.

52% of the popular vote for NDA is incredible. I'm almost led to believe IBNlive have their data wrong. I don't know how much of that is for BJP alone. We haven't had a simple majority of the popular vote for the winning side ever - the highest ever achieved was 49% by Rajiv Gandhi's INC in 1984. Even Nehru and Indira at their zenith only managed around 44-45% for INC. NDA combined polling 52% of popular vote is just crazy numbers. First we have 66.4% turnout, a historical high. Then we see 52% of those vote for NDA. Truly this election is the stuff of legend.

Chikballarpur and Raichur. The INC lead is very small - in the thousands only. They should flop. It would be nice to see VeerAppam Oily lose.

“The larger sociological shift is that Indian society is becoming more democratic and less feudal, less deferential to family privilege,” he said. “It’s possible that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi cannot revive Congress, because India has moved on.”

Cong is in peculiar situation:
1. It has more seats in Rajyasabha than Loksabha.
2. For first time, it has got such low seats it even does not qualify for opposition leader position, i.e. means, no more cabinet rank leader.

(I wish to see, Vadra and Rahul standing in a queue in airport).

if it is allocated to leader of the Oppn, then yes it can and should be vacated. its not some personal family estate for the fake gandhi's to lord over forever

with Congis < 55, I dont think Sonia can claim official position as leader of opposition

Doesn't matter. At this point no one else matters. The trends so far are beyond everyone's wildest optimistic hopes. India has probably it's most effective mandate ever , due to the combination of a comprehensive electoral mandate AND a capable leader with a developmental vision. I don't think the nation's been this galvanized and hopeful since 1951.
