General Elections 2014 : RESULTS thread
Re: General Elections 2014 : RESULTS thread
Well ... ADMK lead on BJP at Coimbatore is increasing ... has now gone to 16K+ from 10K in last one hour.
So BJP will get 1 at most from TN (Pon.Radhakrishnan looks comfortable with a 40K+ vote margin at Kanyakumari).
PMK will also get 1 (Anbumani Ramadoss looks comfortable at Dharmpuri with 40K+ vote margin too).
AINRC @ Puducherry is also looking comfortable with ~42K vote margin

It is good to see Congress score at 43.
For a slightly different reason - scattered opposition will help the new Govt. work in peace and cherry pick the small players with ease if needed for any bills to come.
Now all the non-Government players are like 5, 15, 35 seats. Divide and rule ...

Re: General Elections 2014 : RESULTS thread
congratulations to all and to the dharmic voters for decimating the asuric forces. For the first time, the opinion and exit polls were found to have under estimated the BJP tally, but then, as I have been posting again and again, the writing was all over the wall that it was a perfect storm and that there is nothing called EVM magic. The only magic is the leader of the party. I hope that NAMO and his team, takes the Indian economy, close to the CHINESE level in the next 5 years and then surpasses it in the 5 years after that. Nothing else matters for the next 10 years. We must run at double digit growth and lift the vast majority of India into the middle class and that alone would ensure that we are never go back into the folds of vote-bank politics of the leftist and pesecularists again.

Election Results 2014: Narendra Modi's Role In BJP Victory Needs to Be Assessed, Says Advani
Election Results 2014: Narendra Modi's Role In BJP Victory Needs to Be Assessed, Says Advani
New Delhi: As the BJP on Friday celebrated its historic victory in the national election, party patriarch L K Advani raised eyebrows when he suggested an assessment of how much Narendra Modi's leadership had contributed to the win.
"I think there should be a detailed analysis on this. It needs to be assessed as to how much contribution has been made by Narendra Modi's leadership, RSS and BJP towards the party's victory," Mr Advani said, asserting that the verdict was "against corruption, inflation and dynasty."
Mr Advani, who has shared tense ties with Mr Modi in the past year, congratulated him on the phone on the party's spectacular performance.
"We are winning in areas we have never won before. I believe corruption, inflation and bad governance were the main reasons for such results to come out," he told reporters.
Many would read between the lines to see Mr Advani's comments as a counter to those in the BJP who credited the party's best ever performance to a massive "Modi wave" across the nation.
Mr Advani emerged as a vocal Modi critic after he strongly opposed his elevation as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate last September.
The veteran had skipped the meeting in which Mr Modi was named the PM candidate, and also stayed away from a Goa conclave, where the Gujarat Chief Minister was declared chief campaigner for the national election.
Mr Advani quit all party posts in protest, but came around the next day after an intervention by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the BJP's ideological mentor.
Mr Modi and his core team, including BJP chief Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and Amit Shah have held several meetings to decide on Mr Advani's role in the new government.
Sources say Mr Advani is keen to be Lok Sabha Speaker and the party could give him that post. (read: Advani could be Speaker, Sushma Swaraj wants top 4 ministry)

Karan, indira gandhi imposed emergency on Bharat and not only arrested but tortured the Jansangh leaders like ABV and LKA. One RSS person from Meerut had told me that they brought some low level arrested people in front of Balasaheb Devras (the then RSS chief), Vajpayee, Bhauji Devras, LKA were tortured their nails pulled out with plas and told if they don't write apology letters to indira gandhi they'll also be tortured like this.Karan M wrote:Dude, if these elections prove one thing, it is that your idea of divisiveness, inclusiveness etc is not the same as what the rest of India believes in. The same strong and visionary leader indira gandhi sneaked in word "Secular" in Bhartiya Constitution at that time, while she delibrately didn't put the word secular in kashmir's constitution.
http://www.telegraphindia.com/1030418/a ... 882419.asp
Natwar Singh’s profile of Indira Gandhi is embarrassing in its praise. She is described as a “graceful, sparkling, engaging human being”, a “caring humanist” endowed with “charm”, “elegance” and “good taste”.
But even this flood of adjectives is not preparation enough for what follows. Describing a drive in Afghanistan with Indira Gandhi to see Babur’s resting place, Natwar Singh writes: “The Prime Minister of India stood there, with head slightly bowed, paying her homage. I was a couple of feet behind her. It was a moment to cherish, recall and remember. At that moment the centuries seemed to blend and blur.
“After a minute she stepped back and said, ‘We have had our brush with history’. I said, ‘I have had two.’ ‘What do you mean'’ ‘To pay one’s respects to Babur was itself an occasion,’ I said, ‘but to do so in the company of Indira Gandhi was the rarest of privileges’.”
