Someone - I think Atri-ji, said that Mandal has come full circle.

While we know BJP has done stupendously in UP, what we need to really see is the votes polled by BJP candidates and the margin of their lead over nearest candidate. Check this list at http://eciresults.nic.in/statewiseS24.htm?st=S24 from ECI and marvel at the consolidation of votes behind Modi cutting across all cast lines. This is huge and if this can be consolidated, India is well and truly on the path of greatness.

This election proves following things:
a) kongis have survived because of the failure of opponents and sheer inertia.
b) Hindhuthva is not unacceptable to people.
c) Hindhuthva + development is a strong vote catching formula.
d) People are ready to give huge mandate but expect action. Just as the mandate was huge the negative result will also be as big if the actions don't meet the expectations.

This is something all parties need to understand. Fordriwal, Akki, Maya, Mamtha, and even kongis were given good mandates which they wasted away in doing the same old dance. So, people are turning away from them. The kongis have managed to generate sheer disgust in them with the likes of Doggy Singh and Manishankar dude. Everytime a kongi opened his mouth, kongis lost some votes(if not constituencies). The silly arrogance, brazen corruption and the extreme appeasement have proved fatal for the kongis.

The expectations from NaMo will be
Hindhuthva + development.

Hindhuthva:
will expect changes in the system to remove all biased and religion based policies.
will expect action against terrorism and its sponsors.

Development:
a) growth: infrastructure(railways, roads, ports, airports and river link up).
b) re-distribution.

PS: I guess the omens are that Bakiland might break into pieces under NaMo's rule.
