Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 21 Apr 2014
Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 21 Apr
Prannoy Roy papered over it and actually gave it some twist.
I had moved onto NDTV just to see what they were presenting. P. Roy was ashen faced and did not even believe that NDA crossed 300+ and was repeatedly asking if that number was going up, and when he realized that even BJP is going 270+ subtle knives started to come out.
After that I immediately switched off NDTV.
[There is a reason I do not watch NDTV., causes me severe health effects. Anybody who supports NDTV is murtad for me]

Reardoor diplomacy: Pakistan seeks ‘new beginning’ with BJP-led India
Paki Offering Reardoor Opening
Paki Offering Reardoor Opening
MALSIABAD: Pakistan has begun ‘back-channel diplomacy’ with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is all set to form the next government in India, in an effort to improve ties between the two neighbours, officials told The Express Tribune on Sunday.Pakistan’s High Commissioner in New Delhi Abdul Basit has quietly been in contact with the BJP to convey Islamabad’s willingness for ‘meaningful engagement’ with the new government, they said. The names of the BJP leaders whom the Pakistani envoy has been in contact with were not revealed due to the sensitivity of the issue.Insiders disclosed that the Pakistani diplomat delivered a message on behalf of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government that it was ready for a ‘new beginning’ with the BJP administration despite strong public posturing against Pakistan by India’s prime minister-in-waiting Narendra Modi during his election campaign.A source familiar with the development said the BJP leadership was informed that the current government in Pakistan was following a policy of ‘economic development and peaceful neighbourhood’. Given its policy, the administration in Islamabad wants to engage with the BJP government in meaningful and result-oriented dialogue. The source said that the Foreign Office (FO) seems optimistic of a positive development after initial contacts with the BJP. It was because of ongoing backdoor diplomacy that Prime Minister Nawaz promptly telephoned Modi to congratulate him over his election victory, he added.
The hardline BJP’s unprecedented win has led to fears that the new government in India may take a tough stance towards Pakistan. However, Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said BJP’s clear majority could help New Delhi in taking ‘decisive and positive’ decisions. He added that the government was optimistic about the relationship with India as the BJP’s manifesto was economy driven and sought good ties with neighbors. “We also have the same policy, so there is a point of convergence on this issue at least,” the adviser told a private TV channel in its first reaction to BJP’s victory.Another FO official told The Express Tribune that Pakistan was ready to resume the normalisation process with the new government in India provided it was willing to move forward.Speaking on condition of anonymity, he said the ‘package’ was ready and Pakistan would approach New Delhi as soon the new administration was installed there. The official said that a lot of homework had already been done to liberalise trade and increase people-to-people contact between the two countries. “But at the moment we will wait and watch,” he added saying it was premature to predict anything at this stage.

Modi’s victory exposes ‘Indian secularism’ Hafiz Saeed

Dunia Me logoo Ko Dokha Kabhi Ho Jaata Hai
Khottaabad- The Ameer of Jamaat-ud-Dawa Pakistan, Professor Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has said that BJP’s Nirender Modi’s victory in Indian elections had exposed the façade of ‘Indian secularism’.Addressing the today seminar regarding “solidarity of Pakistan,” he said that Muslim-Hindu riots had again intensified, immediately after the victory of Modi, warning that any further attempts to ban cow-slaughter and conversion of mosques into Hindu temples would be strongly resisted by 300 million Muslims of India.“Recent genocide in Indian Assam was also the act of these very fanatic, bigoted prejudiced miscreants, bent on fanning religious and sectarian riots in India,” he accused. He also stressed on rejenuvation of Pakistan theory, in order to pull out of quagmire of piled-up crisis, including Balochistan’s secessionist movements. He also welcomed the recent statement of COAS that Kashmir was the jugular vein of Pakistan; while he also welcomed the historical boycott of Indian elections by Indian occupied Kashmir. He also lambasted segments of society who expressed their fears of Pakistan’s weakening over adopting Islamic tenets, and said that the bigoted West held Pakistan responsible for its defeat in Afghanistan.
Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 21 Apr
The "New beginning" should be taken with a pinch of salt. At worst as Lahore bus trip and subsequent Kargil showed, Nawaz Sharif is either deceptive or clueless. Either he was hand in glove with the plan to take JK by force despite ABV hand of friendship or the Army Generals did what they do anyway and ignored him. In either case, he is of no use and there is no point listening to him.
There will be the familiar refrain of noises "Democracy should be strengthened in Pakistan by India" which is nonsense. If Pakis themselves cannot strengthen democracy there, India certainly cant. Just in the past few weeks a news channel rubbed ISI the wrong way and got itself declared as a blasphemer. Paki government has done nothing to help them. The bloodshed is just beginning-- the ghazis are sure to kill random abduls of the channel and set a few vehicles and buildings on fire. This is how much control Nawaz has over his own army.
Relationship on the other hand could be transactional. We are neighbours after all. They prosecute and convict Mumbai attackers, we support their bid for loans/markets etc in Europe. They dismantle the Jihadi complex in Punjab, we relax visa norms. All the while we keep our knives sharp and our powder dry.
No grand "gestures of statesmanship" and "new beginning" please. Hope nobody in Delhi buys the "Assuage muslims fears by reaching out to Pakistan" nonsense. Muslim fears can be assuaged by reaching out to Bangladesh, securing loans and scholarships for them and by investing in education, infrastructure, industry and employment for everybody. And yes Muslims too. Inside India. It is time Indian muslims were treated like Indians and not some extension of Pakistanis as the Pakis themselves have been successfully peddling to us.

On the eve of the election results, a reflection on the growing gaps between India and Pakistan becomes inevitable
Sitting outside the BJP headquarters in Delhi watching the results come in, it’s impossible not to reflect on the democratic and other growing gaps between India and Pakistan. There’s no hiding it.
Of course, many in India are disappointed that growth has not been faster; that inequality has so sharply increased; that the elite line their pockets whilst leaving the common man to suffer. But when it comes to economics, having peace and being big matter. The truth is that if India and Pakistan grow at roughly equal rates then India has the clear advantage. That’s what comes of having over a billion people as opposed to less than two hundred million.
Take defence spending. For all Pakistan’s success in securing supplies of US weapons systems, it’s difficult to escape the logic that to keep level with India, Pakistan has to run far faster. If India devotes an extra 1 per cent of its GDP to defence then, to match that spending in absolute terms, Pakistan has to devote an extra 7.5 per cent of its GDP.
And don’t forget India was held back for decades by its alignment with the Soviet block and the economic model that came with it. For years that concealed the basic underlying trends.
General Musharraf thought that Pakistan could devise strategy on the basis that it was an economic competitor with India. I remember accompanying him to the Siachin Glacier shortly after he was made army chief and before the coup. Given the significant loss of life on Siachin for no discernable military gain, I asked him the obvious question: what on earth was the point of the conflict there?
“Because of the geography,” he replied, “it costs us less to resupply our troops than it costs them to resupply theirs. So on this battlefield we have the advantage.”
The idea that Pakistan could somehow bleed India’s finances dry by keeping the Siachin conflict going was outlandish then. Today it seems utterly ridiculous.
Officials from all over the world go to India whenever they feel the need to talk about trade and to Pakistan when they want to deliver a lecture on security. And for all its aid, the US has long abandoned the idea of parity.
The relative economic strength of India and Pakistan and the increasing difference in the size of their two markets feeds through to the amount of diplomatic heft the two countries can muster. There was a time when foreign governments treated the subcontinent’s two major powers as equals. If a minister from the UK visited South Asia then he or she had to follow certain protocols. If the last visit had been to India first and then to Pakistan, the order was reversed for the next visit. And it was quite unthinkable for a visit to be made to India without also going to Pakistan.
Today such niceties seem antique. Officials from all over the world go to India whenever they feel the need to talk about trade and to Pakistan when they want to deliver a lecture on security. And for all its aid, the US has long abandoned the idea of parity. Remember that cursory six-hour visit to Islamabad by President Clinton in 2000? And that’s the least of it.
While Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are considered a potential problem for fear that one day radical Islamists might get hold of them, India’s programme is now perceived by Washington as a welcome bulwark against China.
The 2008 US-India Civil Nuclear Agreement revealed the degree to which Washington’s views of the subcontinent had changed. After three years of talks, India agreed to place all its civil nuclear facilities under International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards and, in exchange, the United States agreed to work toward full civil nuclear cooperation with India, allowing it to access civilian nuclear technology and fuel from other countries. It meant that India had become an accepted nuclear power while staying outside the non-proliferation treaty regime.
Some in Pakistan asked “what about us? If they have effective admission to the nuclear club why shouldn’t we have the same?” It fell to the State Department’s Nicholas Burns, to deliver the answer: “India’s trust, its credibility, the fact that it has promised to create a state-of-the-art facility, monitored by the IAEA, to begin a new export control regime in place, because it has not proliferated the nuclear technology. We can’t say that about Pakistan.”
But it’s not just a question of international perceptions. Pakistan is now well into what can only be described as a civil war with two competing ideologies — theocratic and democratic — vying for power. The fact that some elements of the state can’t make up which side they are on further complicates the picture.
And it means that if Pakistanis ever get the chance to walk the streets of Delhi they may be shocked by what they see. For all the real problems in India concerning inequality, communalism and corruption, many people in the country — Muslims amongst them — are going about their business in safety looking forward to the future with confidence. Millions smiled as they voted. In Pakistan meanwhile worry is etched on faces across the land as people fret about where their country is headed and where the next bomb will explode.
It’s the difference between hope and fear.

Learning from the Indian elections, despite Modi’s win
Not sure why a Paki should be upset about Indians voting their party of choice to power. And also dear Paki, Modi sarkaar is not "claiming victory". BJP has been elected to power in a meticulously planned free and fair elections. "claiming victory" is what your jernails do after riding tanks into Isloo to form sarkaar. Pakis still have a long way to go before they understand democracy.Despite being upset about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Modi Sarkar claiming undisputed victory in the Lok Sabha, I could not help but notice the immaculate election process that is being conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Don't come to India and save yourself from such awkward moments. This incident has once again reminded me of the awkward moment of when I first crossed the Wagah border on foot and as soon as I crossed Pakistani domain, a big sign stood there mocking us as I walked past it saying ‘Welcome to India – World’s Largest Democracy’

Pakistan should give it a deep thought as to how Modi govt would react.. there won't be restraint like in the case of Kabul embassy attack where even after overwhelming evidence of ISI involvement, GoI showed restraint.. if any attempts at destabilization of that kind takes place I would not bet on restraint if I were a betting man. There will be a decisive response from Modi govt.
*facepalm*so that means you are expecting trouble.

Going further, Hardeep Puri says he has been hearing on the "grapevine" that "you will be tested in the coming days..let's see how you respond..it will be the same again."
I am guessing he is getting this info from Pakistani sources. Expect some action in the coming days.

Arabic to be added to curriculum
a compulsory language up to the senior secondary (SSC) level
One more step closer to land of their (original) four fathers and leadership of their collective ammah! A couple of comments from well-meaning momeens:the project would be initiated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) before being phased into other provinces
Malik
Excellent step, Pakistan should move towards a union with the GCC. Arabic is an excellent language to learn, not only in perspective to religion due to which it will combat extremism when people actually know what they are reading in the Quran as opposed to just learning, memorizing and recitation but arabic is also widely spoken in africa and across the middle east. Will be a plus point for pakistanis seeking jobs in MENA.
Well wisher
@Malik Well said....it should finally move to be the national language of the country called ISLAMIC republic of Pakistan...

It gets better. The Prime Contractor for the Gomal Zam dam from 2007 till completion was an outfit run by the uniformed Jihadi’s of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan going by the name Frontier Works Organisation aka FWO. JI Chief's message to Modi
Referring to the recent victory of Narendra Modi of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India, the JI chief said a “prejudiced government” was about to take control of India. “I want to send a message to Mr Modi, if you want to see India progressing then there is only one way for it; give freedom to the Kashmiris,” Haq said.
He also called upon Modi to ensure the safety of Muslims and their places of worship in India. “I guarantee that the worship places of Hindus, Christians and Sikhs will be protected in Pakistan. And I want you to guarantee that the places of Muslims worship will be safe in India,” Haq said.

We wont have to wait very long to know the general approach of the new government. The pakis will slowly calibrate the violence north if they believe the response is soft or the will lacking. Modi needs to be decisive each time. This does not mean he needs to unleash the artillery each time; but there must be demonstrable force applied, overtly or covertly.sudhan wrote:Here we go, one of the many pricks that will follow.. paki turds testing the new government's resolve.. Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 21 Apr
Which version could be right
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Mosque_SeizureAccording to Lawrence Wright in the book The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11,
A team of three French commandos from the Groupe d’Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale (GIGN) arrived in Mecca. Because of the prohibition against non-Muslims entering the holy city, they converted to Islam in a brief, formal ceremony. The commandos pumped gas into the underground chambers, but perhaps because the rooms were so bafflingly interconnected, the gas failed and the resistance continued. With casualties climbing, Saudi forces drilled holes into the courtyard and dropped grenades into the rooms below, indiscriminately killing many hostages but driving the remaining rebels into more open areas where they could be picked off by sharpshooters. More than two weeks after the assault began, the surviving rebels finally surrendered.[22] [23][24]
According to another source, it was not non-Muslim French but Muslim Pakistani authorities who were called in to help.[25] A plan was devised to launch Pakistani Special Forces, soon after the reception of demands from insurgents, Pakistanis went into the action, Pakistan's elite special forces the Special Services Group Commandos loaded in Saudi Chinooks were brought into the area. The Pakistani High Command directed the Saudis to flood all the premises of Sacred Mosque with water and unleash current through high voltage naked wires, as soon as Pakistanis came over, the current was unleashed leaving insurgents seriously shocked and then withdrawn. The Pakistanis Commandos then dropped from Helicopters launched frontal assaults and after hours of heavy fighting gained nearly all the Mosque.

If the SSG was really involved, they would have been crowing about it to the world for years after that. This is the first time I'm hearing that they were allegedly involved, and the reference is by Irfan Hussain's (presumably Pakistani) book. All these years, I heard it was the French GIGN, though there is controversy about how much they actually participated or were they there as advisors only. Saudis didn't want to admit that they let non-muslims into Mecca, so they claimed that a mullah converted them all before they went in.

I support admitting Pakistani players in IPL with a great fanfare to their population. Project the importance of people to people contact. How India is striving to normalize relations. Include platitudes about how good relations will prosperity to both countries under the leadership of Modi. This need not be limited to IPL only. It can be extended to few other sops as long as that does not imply much cost to India.arun wrote:The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has thrown down the gauntlet with direct involvement of "State Actors":

Once all that is done, every time Pakistan does a mistake of cross border firing or sneaking in terrorists, boot them off from the team or revoke the privileges offered. It is extremely important to be very nice both the times. Let them know how sad it is to loose Pakistani talent. Advertise to common man in Pakistan that we are striving very hard to normalize the relations but their army is putting a spanner in those efforts. If you see a pest for eg a rat in your home, do you call for negotiations or offer sops to the rat? The best way to deal with a rat is to set a trap and lure it with a promise of a piece of cheese. Once trapped there can be no other action then to kill and discard the rat in the nearest sewer.
TSPians are no better than rats when viewed through India's security prism. Why this need to invite them for anything? As said before just shut the Wagah border crossing doors. Any misadventure from their side should be responded in the same language but louder so that the message is heard by TSPian authorities.
Indians do not owe anything to TSPians. They wanted a new country and got it. Why the faq do we care what happens to them as long as they stay on their side of the border?

What is the big deal with Wagah border post. As civilized people, why do we have to be concerned about any border post towards people like STFUPies. Bare minimum tourist spot and opportunity to observe is sufficient. We don't want to encourage barbarians by giving any more legitimacy.
Beyond the border, rule of law is absent anyway. We chould actually have - spot infiltrators, polio diseased and drug peddler - tours from near our side of the fence.

Defence ministry official terms budget 'meagre'
A top official of the Ministry of Defense on Monday said that the country’s defense budget is exclusive of all expenses incurred on procuring fighting assets. The official added that the military cannot afford to buy ships, aircraft and submarines with ‘meagre money’.“The defense budget only caters to the needs of the maintenance of military installations and we cannot buy ships, aircraft and submarines from this meager money,” said Air Vice Marshal Arshad Qadoos, additional secretary Ministry of Defense. What AVM Qadoos called meagre money is Rs627 billion for the outgoing fiscal year — 27.5% of this year’s revised tax target of Rs2.275 trillion.
Out of the Rs627 billion of the defense budget, 43.4% is spent on salaries and allowance, 25.8% on transport, fuel, ration and medical treatment while 21.1% is spent on physical assets and 9.9% on civil works.“This year the armed forces’ tail has become longer, while the teeth have shortened”, said Qadoos. ( Janwar Resembling Rat)‘Teeth’ are the proportion of expenditures being incurred on acquiring fighting assets to the expenses on logistical infrastructure and maintenance of troop, called ‘tail’.Qadoos said that teeth shortened to 21% while tail became longer to 79% this year. Last year, the size of teeth was 22% while 78% was spent on other heads. He said military’s share on account of Coalition Support Fund reimbursements and United Nations peacekeeping forces should be treated within the announced defense budget.“The truth is somewhere between 16% and 30% and people should have an idea about it”, said Senator Sughra Imam of PPP, who is member of the Senate Standing Committee on Defense.Qadoos said that the army gets a massive share of 70% of total defense budget and 63% of it is spent on paying salaries and allowance. The Air Force gets one-fifth of the total budget and spends 41.5% on physical assets while the Navy’s share is one-tenth of the total budget and it spends 40% of it on procurements. He said Pakistan was spending far less on defense when compared with regional peers.Responding to the budget, Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the main problem with it was that it was conceived in the context of national security strategy, which itself is a product of military rather than the parliament.

Peregrine, Nandu amd BijuShet, I do understand what you are trying to convey. There is absolutely no hope in my mind about Pakistanis becoming human. They will remain rabid dogs that they are but it is good if they bite their own than us. My post was influenced by a talk by Kishore Mahbubani posted in another thread. Please go through it if not already.

Chinese tourist kidnapped in Dera Ismail Khan
1. A Chinese tourist (presumably, a lone tourist...hmmmm)
2. Lahore to Balochistan via Khyber Paktunkhwa (Was he driving or in a train?...no army escort?)
3. kidnapped from Darban area of Dera Ismail Khan The highway from lawhore to quitter does not go via DIK or NWFP
So, here's why this is so suspicious:A Chinese tourist travelling from Lahore to Balochistan via Khyber Paktunkhwa has been kidnapped from Darban area of Dera Ismail Khan

Dawn article on the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Additional Secretary Ministry of defence Air Vice Marshal (Retired?) Arshad Quddus comments on the Defence budget.
Confirms that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has fudged the defence budget by not including military pensions of over PKR 100 Billion in the budget figure. Not clear if the defence budget is being further fudged by not including debt servicing costs of loans taken for purchase of military hardware and for costs of nuclear weapons:

Indications are that there is further understating of the defence budget by not including subsidies and other budgetary support given to the military’s business and commercial interests aka Milbus, like Fauji Foundation, Army Welfare Trust, Shaheen Foundation, Bahria Foundation, Frontier Works Organisation, National Logistioc Cell etc:AVM Quddus admitted that military pensions, which have risen to over Rs100 billion, were not given from the defence budget but from civilian allocations.
Read it all :Senator Babar questioned the security establishment’s vast network of industrial, commercial and business enterprises throughout the country and said it had been kept out of public and parliamentary discourse and called upon the members of Parliament to equip themselves with knowledge and expertise to be able to exercise rigorous oversight of the Milbus.
“There is need to look into state subsidies and other support provided to these entities including Fauji Foundation, Army Welfare Trust, Shaheen Foundation, Bahria Foundation, Frontier Works Organisation, National Logistioc Cell and scores of others and examine its adverse impact on the growth of free market economy,” the PPP leader commented.

Yet again locomotives supplied by sweeter than honey friend P.R.China proves troublesome for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This time around it is a brand new locomotive.
Poor quality of P.R. Chinese products or incompetence of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in running equipment more complex than rudimentary :
New locomotive ‘refuses to chug’
Meanwhile 2005 article, also from Dawn, on allegedly defective locomotives bought by the Islamic Republic from Taller than Himalaya's friend:
Chinese locomotives found defective

Instead of ignoring these Paki schmucks and letting them squirm in their own excrement, Headlines today gives them a plug and a platform to vomit their jihadi bile .
Someone must give a spanking to Rahul Kanwal for bringing this witless worm of a Paki Assspurt.
Some one must advise Gadkari too to vet his TV appearances well and not get involved in useless discussions at this level.

^^ Video not playing here. Is this the video with Gadkari and Pirzada having a shouting match on TV? This sort of thing is totally undignified for GoI and no one in Modi's cabinet should stoop to their level.
Retaliation should be mostly via covert ops.

Here
I agree that GoI reps should not get into arguments with 2 bit Pakistanis on TV shows. Keep talking about peace but prepare to deal with terrorism sponsors behind the scenes.

Haha, wow. We want to compete with the Asian Tigers and the West and yet we still feel the need to get bogged down with useless debates with Pakis. Gadkari needs to use his head a little. He should begin acting professional. He may get a cabinet seat soon. Begin acting like a leader of a re-emerging powerhouse. Idiotic decision that even after a bloody election landslide win, BJP wallahs still have this compulsion to appear on these circus media programs and engage in shout wars with retarded inbred islamic morons and gora sahebs. I'm going to lose my mind if I hear something like this again.
