TTP claims Peshawar attack targeting senior army officer
Asstaarfargulah
Asstaarfargulah
At least four people — including a woman and a security official — were killed and fourteen others injured in the blast targeting Brigadier Khalid Javed, who narrowly escaped the explosion and was said to be safe.Shahidullah Shahid, a spokesman for the Mullah Fazlullah-led militant group, said the attack on the security forces convoy was a reaction to the Zarb-i-Azb military operation against militants in the troubled North Waziristan tribal region.Confirming that the attack was meant to target Brigadier Javed, the TTP spokesman vowed to launch attacks on members of the Pakistan Mulsim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government.According to a military official, Brigadier Khaled Javed hails from Wah and is the Deputy Inspector General of the Frontier Corps. His house in Peshawar is located on a busy road and is easy to access. Javed and some other senior military officials later also visited the site of the explosion that took place near an office of the PTCL and the railway station.
. An unspecified number of injured was also taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar. The time the explosion occurred, gunfire was also reported from the area and windows of nearby buildings were shattered with the location subsequently cordoned off by security. Moreover, the site was strewn with parts of vehicles, including a car, a rickshaw and a motorcycle. More details could not yet be ascertained as security personnel restricted access to the area in order to collect evidence.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) government is considering shelving much delayed Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project by exploring an alternate gas import plan to plug the gap between demand and supply. The plan for approval will be tabled in coming federal cabinet’s economic coordination committee (ECC) meeting.Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi on Tuesday in an in-camera briefing said the government was mulling over an alternative plan to IP gas pipeline project. A substitute plan for the supply of gas will be presented before the ECC, the minister said.If an alternative gas supply is not arranged then Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations and the industries during winters will not find continuous supply of gas, Abbasi observed.

Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 19 Jul
I have been reading a book written "For Jeff". Originally the synopsis was meant to show up here. But I will only finish it in a month or two at the earliest, and will have forgotten most of it by the time I get to the end. So the option of a one shot summary is out, can link to other reviews for anyone interested. I am not reading it very fast, and it is not all that well written.
There are also three places where a summary could go -- here, in the paakhana chair/desk, or in inquilaab. At the risk of upsetting a few people I am opting for chapter by chapter synopsis in the inquillabi thread. It will be out of the way that way, as I dont expect my writings to be illuminating for most, and will be just one person's opinion.
Due diligence noted. Rest to come as above in due course.

excerptsIndia triumphs in maiden Mars mission
http://www.yawn.com/news/1134027/india- ... rs-missionExperts say the mission's main aim is to showcase India's budget space technology and hopefully snatch a bigger share of the $300-billion global space market.
The mission's cost is just a fraction of NASA's MAVEN spacecraft which successfully began orbiting the fourth planet from the sun on Sunday.
India has so far launched 40 satellites for foreign nations, since kickstarting its space programme five decades ago. But China launches bigger satellites.
Critics of the programme say a country that struggles to feed its people adequately and where roughly half have no toilets should not be splurging on space travel.

Last time Zulfi(ker Bhutto promised to restore H&D with 'Ghas khayengay, bum banayengay' in the 70s. Nawaz had to explode one device more than India to assuage their H&D.
Wonder what depths the current political crop is willing to go for matching India in space technology? Eat dirt and rocks, maybe?

I have claimed that Bakistan has reached a planet called "Thei-ranus". Bakistan also shows this planet to massa and the rest of 2.5, in which case just before GUBOing the 3.5 massas change the planet name and ask Bakistan to show "Ur-anus".

Islamabad: rain, strong winds add miseries of protesters
ISLAMABAD: Rain with thunderstorm and strong winds lashed the federal capital on Tuesday night, Geo News reported.
Rain along with strong winds added the miseries of participants of sit-ins. Several tents were also rooted out by the downpour. The rainwater also entered many tents.
Meanwhile, the Kaptan (captain) of the sit-in left for his Bani Gala residence while the marchers spent night in the rain.
The other leaders also could not be seen at the container.

Are the buggers still camping out there in Isloo, washing their pajamas before the baki parliament building? Why no incendiary speeches, no threats, no calls to storm the molehill? Nothing's happening. Has the army downhill-skiied all over again? Now they can't even capture their own country?Narad wrote:http://www.geo.tv/article-160643-Islama ... rotesters-

Don't remember the exact column, but every time India achieves something which Bakis can't even stretch to meet, I remember the old Baki with impotent rage wishes for a complete destruction on either side because India has done injustice to them just by being better than them. Wish I could find the exact link. Maybe someone can oblige?
Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 19 Jul
Despite our feelings, Pakistanis are not far behind, with behind being the operative word. India may have reached Mars but Pakistan is just behind with arse probes and arse probe insertion technologies designed Pindigenously by Suparseco. On the other hand maybe this needs to go in the BENIS thread - but what the heck - a man is allowed to get frustrated if he sees no post in the Baki thread for 6 hours.

That train of thought leads to Musharraf who, while "launching"(reorientating) a useless satellite claimed Indians could not achieve the same thing in 30 months. Dunno why the words arse and rear triggered that thought though.

Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 19 Jul 2014
Newly-appointed ISI chief once recommended peace with India
Lieutenant-General Rizwan Akhtar, the newly appointed Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), in 2008 argued that peace between Pakistan and India was imperative in the broader regional picture, calling for the country to “aggressively pursue rapprochement with India”.
In a research report for his Masters degree at the US Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, on “US-Pakistan trust deficit and the war on terror", Akhtar had argued that peaceful relations with India not only improved regional stability but would also alleviate international concerns.
Akhtar’s research at the time highlights that Pakistan’s stability is majorly dependent on long-lasting peace with India, adding that this would allow Pakistani military forces to be deployed in other areas for operations against Al Qaeda/Taliban or other terrorist organisations threatening the country.
CheersThe paper calls for bridging the trust gap between India and Pakistan and while Akhtar will not be calling all the shots, he is likely to have a voice that can create a difference.
With peace between New Delhi and Islamabad, an externally secure and stable Pakistan can focus on its economic well-being and ultimately serve as an example of a democratic and successful Islamic state both regionally and internationally, he wrote.
Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 19 Jul
Pakistan successfully stopped its non state actors from disrupting India's Mars mission. India should give credit to Pakistan and acknowledge Pakistan's contribution.

We just need to point out that Pakis claim of stealing electricity can NOT be applied to the Mars mission!saravana wrote:Don't remember the exact column, but every time India achieves something which Bakis can't even stretch to meet, I remember the old Baki with impotent rage wishes for a complete destruction on either side because India has done injustice to them just by being better than them. All over the world, reports talk of 'South Asia' when referring to Indian Mangal mission.
But in Asia, see how many times China talks of its dear shorter friend Pukis
joint efforts needed, says China
Ans: ZERO.
People outside Asia want Pukis in Asia, but people in Asia do not want Pukis in 'joint efforts'.
Pakistan ka matlab kyaa?
Padosi ka naam se pakistan karne ka!
