Altaf Hussain's own shenanigans are very entertaining -- he just another mutation of the paki gene which is obvious after you watch one of his anti-India rants. All of them are criminals and crooks fighting for political relevance...people like Hussain Haqqani are irrelevant and obsolete and PNGs in Pakistan, so what they say doesn't matter. HH has has much influence and effect on pakistan these days as someone breaking wind in jupiter would have on jupiter's cataclysmic storms.

Reminds me of Jeremy Clarkson, the in the news presenter of BBC Program Top Gear for getting into a fracas with his BBC producer, comment that “The problem is that television executives have got it into their heads that if one presenter on a show is a blonde-haired, blue-eyed heterosexual boy, the other must be a black Muslim lesbian.”

BBC’s quest to promote Mohammadden views runs into trouble as an enterprising Mohammadden man with roots in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan passes himself off as a former Test Cricket player and gets paid by the BBC for expert comments, gets caught for being an impostor  :

BBC apologises after Manchester man claiming to be former Pakistan cricketer appears as regular pundit : Nadeem Alam, from Hulme, repeatedly posed as former batsman Nadeem Abbasi and was paid to appear on BBC World News, BBC Asian Network and Radio Five Live

X Posting link to a news article from the “Oppression of Minorities in Pakistan” thread to go with your post.

Just as Mohammaddens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan are victims of Mosque bombings on the Mohammadden Sabbath of Friday, followers of Christism are victims of Church bombing on the Christist Sabbath of Sunday:

New interpretation of the “Jihad in the Path of Allah” part of the motto of Faith, Piety and Jihad in the Path of Allah” or in Urdu “Iman, Taqwa, Jihad fi Sabil Allah” of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Cost of the Uniformed Jihadi’s of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan providing security from the depredations of Un-uniformed Jihadi’s to personnel from Deeper than Oceans, Higher than Himalayas, Sweeter than Honey, Iron Brother People’s Republic of China to be debited power generators.

Next uniformed Jihadi’s of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan debiting civilians residing on the Islamic Republic’s international border with India for security?

Looks like a fudge to fool international lenders on the actual size of the defence budget and a gambit to keep the Unformed Jihadis in Imperial Mughal splendour at the expense of Pakistani civilians:

Comments of BJP Spokesperson Nalin Kohli after the twin demonstrations of the IEDology of Pakistan in Lahore Churches today.
“Pakistan is definitely one of the most unsafe places now and regularly such kinds of incidents are taking place even targeted specifically to the minorities within Pakistan. Pakistan will not be able to solve or achieve victory in its fight against terror if it is going to maintain a duplicity in its approach of good terrorists, bad terrorists"
"You can't support those terrorists who do action against India and protect them, and take action against those who actually perpetrate terror in Pakistan"

BRF finds itself on the forefront of "perception warfare". I wonder, objectively, how effective BRF is?
http://www.thenews.com.pk/Todays-News-9-307088-iWar
Pakistan’s adversaries are active in explicitly military undertakings – albeit non-lethal ones – to influence and manipulate the ‘hearts and minds’ of Pakistan’s civilian population. The implementation platform of this new war is television, newspapers, internet forums (including online discussions and chat rooms), social blogs, microblogging (Twitter, Facebook), social networks, picture-sharing, wall postings and crowd sourcing.
There is evidence that Pakistan’s adversaries intend to use every possible thought-influencing technology to achieve their military objectives. There is evidence that the ‘secret agenda of hidden persuaders’ is landing in Pakistan. There is evidence that subliminally embedded messages by Pakistan’s adversaries are being bought at face value by unsuspecting Pakistanis.

BRF is not really attempting to "change the hearts and minds of the civilian populace" as far as I can tell -- and if other people want to waste their time on that front, that is their problem. If you really want to change the hearts and minds of pakis, you would have to be writing in their urdu papers, where you are likely to be killed if you so much as suggest that pure islam is not the answer to pakistan's problems.

This "perception warfare" to change the minds of pakistanis seems like the pointless waste of time americans and their friends would waste time on. The number of pakis who actually read english to be affected by this "perception warfare" is about 1% of the paki population, which about says enough about the efficacy of such "perception warfare".

BRF efforts are mostly towards educating Indians on Pakistan's nature and the nature of its pure islamic population, and toning down Indian expectations where Pakistan is treated like a singular country in control of a government, which it isn't. Aided quite significantly by pakistan's own actions, the message on pakistan's warmongering and terrorist nature is spreading among Indians, except from some think tanks that seem to suggest the pakis are amenable to "perception warfare".

Pakistan among global hotspots that pose tactical challenges: CIA
WASHINGTON: Identifying Pakistan along with Iraq, Syria and North Korea as global hotspots, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has said these countries pose strategic and tactical challenges to policy makers. “Developments in a host of countries across the globe are raising strategic and tactical challenges for policymakers and our Agency,” CIA director John Brennan said, referring to countries like Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Afghanistan, North Korea and Pakistan. “In addition to monitoring developments in these hotspots, our analysts track overall trends in global stability,” he said in rare public remarks by a CIA director, in which he spoke about the terror attack on a Peshawar school last year. “In December, gunmen in Pakistan opened fire on school children in an attack that, even by the appalling standards of the Pakistani Taliban, was shocking in its moral depravity,” he said, referring to the Peshawar school massacre that left 153 people dead, mostly students. These attacks underscore a disturbing trend that we have been monitoring for some time - the emergence of a terrorist threat that is increasingly decentralised, difficult to track, and difficult to thwart, the top American spymaster added.

Afterward, an angry Christian mob blocked a major highway, ransacked a bus terminal and burned two people to death who they suspected of being involved in the attacks. Christian demonstrators blocked roads in other major Pakistani cities as well.
A spokesman for the Punjab provincial government, Zaeem Qadri, also said it was unfortunate that the mob had killed the two suspects rather than turning them over to police.

Of course, saar, I have repeatedly said this on this very thread and will continue to support Pakistan's quest for islamic purity. More Islam is the only answer to pakistan's problem, now and forever. I was just pointing out that recommending less islam can be suicidal in the fortress of Islam, which is what is recommended all these western and "secular" do-gooders who are aiming to pull pakistan from the swirling down the toilet bowl of existence.

Indeed, both of you are correct. It is only when the rest of the world demand less Islam that the Paks (and the rest of the Islamic world in general) insist on more Islam. It's a no lose situation for the rest of the world.

Afghanistan urges China to press Pakistan to make sincere efforts towards peace talks
ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Khalil Karzai said on Monday that China had been urged to press Pakistan to make sincere efforts towards peace talks as he claimed face-to-face peace talks with the Taliban will start soon. But the claim was quickly dismissed by the Taliban as false.

FATA: Exercise in futility - Tushar Ranjan Mohanty, South Asia Intelligence Review
Despite the hype, the Operations in NWA and Khyber Agency have failed to destroy the organisational network and leadership of the terrorists. This has repeatedly been demonstrated in their capacity to perpetrate carnage, as in the Peshawar Army Public School attack and the bloodbath of innocent Shias at Imambargah (Shia place of worship) in Peshawar. Pakistan is yet to make a decisive break from its long sustained strategy of supporting terrorist groups operating against Indian and Afghanistan, and the linkages of these groups with domestic terrorists operating within the country are growing progressively deeper and more complex. Despite some losses that TTP has suffered, it is likely to rise again out of the rubble that bombardments and drone strikes have created in FATA.

Pak-Russian relations heading in right direction; Russian envoy - DT
Pak-Russian relations are heading in right direction on diplomatic front while a direct link between the business communities of both countries is required to enhance bilateral trade.

This was stated by Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Pakistan Alexey Yuri Dedov while addressing the members of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on Sunday. He welcomed the proposals of FCCI to enhance bilateral trade. He assured that Russian Federation would consider these valuable and practicable suggestions of FCCI.

Yuri Kozlor trade representative of the Russian Federation discussed the huge opportunities of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Russia, adding that Pakistan Steel Mills and Guddu (Muzaffargarh) Power Plant were examples of cooperation and close linkages between both countries. Earlier, FCCI president Engineer Rizwan Ashraf and MNA Rana Afzal also spoke on the occasion.

Who benefits from China-Pakistan Economic Corridor - Op Ed, DT
The project embraces the construction of a cross-border optical fibre cable system between China and Pakistan, textile garment industrial park projects, numerous ventures in the energy sector yielding power from various sources comprising hydel, coal, wind power, solar and nuclear. It also entails the development of coal mining projects, the construction of dams, the installation of nuclear reactors and creating networks of roads, railway lines and oil/gas pipelines. Agreements have been made to construct a new international airport, Eastbay expressway, fully equipped hospital, a technical and vocational training institute, water supply and distribution, infrastructure for free zone and export processing zones, port related industries, refineries and marine works. The infrastructure projects planned comprise of the Karakorum Highway Phase II (Raikot-Islamabad), Karachi-Lahore Motorway (Multan-Sukkur section), expansion and reconstruction of existing the mail railway line from Peshawar to Karachi, the construction of a Havelian dry port, orange line project in Lahore and a cross-border optical fibre cable system project.

Some of the significant energy projects being installed will yield around 10,400 megawatts of electricity. Those ventures include the Port Qasim Electric Power Company, producing 1,320 megawatts, Engro Thar coal-fired power plant, producing 660 megawatts, Sindh Sino resources power plant of Thar Coal (Block-1), producing 1,320 megawatts, Gwadar coal power project, producing 300 megawatts, Rahimyar Khan coal power, producing 1,320 megawatts, Muzaffargarh coal power, producing 1,320 megawatts, Sahiwal power plant, producing 1,320 megawatts, Suki Kinari power project, producing 870 megawatts, Karot Hydro power station, producing 720 megawatts, UEP wind power project, producing 100 megawatts, Sunec wind power project, producing 50 megawatts, Sachal wind power project, producing 50 megawatts, Dawood wind power project, producing 50 megawatts and Quaid-e-Azam solar, producing 900 megawatts.

In order to make the CPEC operational, the Chinese government has set up a special economic zone in the historical city of Kashgar, the border city between China and Pakistan. The Chinese government plans to complete this economic zone by the year 2020, for which duration Pakistani industrialists have been offered a tax-free zone and other concessions. This economic zone will prove to be the key to trade between China, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and eight other central Asian states bordering both China and Pakistan.

The CPEC route starts from Kashgar, the traditional business centre in China’s Xinjiang province, which connects China to South Asian and central Asian states. The CPEC then enters Pakistan through the 1,300 kilometre long Karakoram Highway (KKH) and runs throughout Pakistan, finally reaching Gwadar Port in the South of Balochistan.
Looks like that Pakistan would really become the modern-day Medina with milk & honey flowing, with green flags fluttering atop huge buildings in the gentle breeze, with hunger (and electricity woes) banished forever with the grace of Allah (and China) thus realizing the dreams of the millions who went with the Quaid in the 1940s for this very purpose.

^^^ Look at it this way, today Pakistan has as much power generation installed capacity as Tamil Nadu has today - actually about 10% more than Tamil Nadu. After China comes in and slogs away for Pakistan for five to ten years, sinking in money while fighting Uighur extremists trained in Pakistan, Pakistan will have as much installed capacity as Maharashtra has today.

Chinese are not as stupid as the americans in blowing money away on an uncooperative Pakistan -- they have terminated many projects in Pakistan after spending a few months/years on it, IIRC. If China has to deal with Pakistan training uighurs splittists, not so sure about China giving them nuclear plants. Shouldn't take long for the pakis to bite the hand that feeds them though...a couple of years should do it.

Obviously Pakistan needs to maintain its guard against India’s threatening designs. We must take steps to strengthen internal unity and stability, accelerate our economic growth, promote religious and sectarian moderation, settle the issue of political unrest in Balochistan through political and economic initiatives, and root out the menace of terrorism, while maintaining a credible security deterrent at the lowest level of armaments and armed forces. The prospect of enduring tensions between Pakistan and India rules out the possibility of our joining the latter in an economic and monetary union. Simultaneously, we should strengthen our friendly relations and cooperation with both Afghanistan and Iran so that India does not succeed in turning them against us as Kautilya would have recommended. The strengthening of our strategic cooperation with China and improving our friendly relations with Russia should remain the cornerstone of our foreign policy. At the same time, we should maintain our friendship with the US despite the latter’s strategic partnership with India.
Short version: Be afraid, be very afraid. Chankiya is coming, paki kids.

Pakistan needs to be more of a pakistan, with more Islam and Jihad-e-fistula.

Meanwhile another blow to H&D:
"Due to safety and security reasons and in coordination with AFC (Asian Football Confederation), FIFA has decided to postpone the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier match between Pakistan and Yemen which was due to be played on Tuesday, March 17, in Lahore," the spokesman said.
The decision comes a day after fourteen people were killed and more than 70 injured when two Taliban suicide bombers attacked churches in Lahore, sparking mob violence in which two other suspected militants died.
