Pakistan needs to make up its mind between "South Asian DNA or West Asian family" to tap the potential for multi-fold growth in its trade with India, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said today.

Three metro stations vandalised in Youhannabad riots

Lynched by the system
It is no secret that our people are impulsive, angry and for some odd reason, always drawn to destroying their own property and assets. Anything anti-Islamic happening across the world, and Pakistan will be the first country to torch gas stations and shatter windows of every building possible.

While burning vehicles and damaging public property is dangerous enough, it is far worse, when the very same people decide to take lives on behalf of a failing justice system.

Ali Zafar: World needs to help us out of extremist darkness
)—December 16, 2014 was a dark day, not just in our nation's history, but the world's.

I also feel that there is a lot more to Pakistan than what the world gets to see. Pakistan is a beautiful land with beautiful people who -- like those in any other nation -- want to live in harmony with themselves and the world.

A place where people sing, dance and play.

Unfortunately because of an extremist minority, it is sometimes seen as an extremist country. But no society is void of extremism in one way or the other.

This is something that we all need to work towards -- the international community and us. Pakistan needs your help. It has been fighting this battle for years and lost countless lives in the process. Its economy has also suffered.

Nude Pakistan Motorcyclist Shehroz Khan Arrested After Video Goes Viral
A Pakistani motorcyclist has been arrested in the eastern city of Lahore after police caught him riding naked along a busy road, days after a video of his exploits went viral on social media.

Police got word on Saturday that Shehroz Khan, 20, was riding naked once again on Lahore's Main Boulevard. They blocked the road from all sides and Khan was flagged down and arrested, police said on Monday.

"We arrested Shehroz on Saturday for overspeeding, violating traffic rules and for revealing his private organs in public," police officer Zulfiqar Butt said. "He's still in police custody though all three offences are bailable."

Khan, who goes by the nickname "Rocket", had bet his friends he could pull off the nude stunt, media said.

TV channels showed footage of a naked Khan doing a wheelie in the city center while scores of cheering friends followed on their bikes.

'Credible information' on LeT commander Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi shared with Pakistan: US
"The US has provided credible evidence (on Lakhvi) to Pakistan," a senior US official told PTI.

The official refused to give any further details and said this was an ongoing legal matter.

But, the information provided by the US to Pakistan on Lakhvi and others related to the Mumbai terrorist attack is credible, the official said.

The detailed information shared by US on individuals related to the Mumbai terrorist attack is based on the interrogation of David Headley, who is currently serving jail sentence for his involvement in the attack, and the information gained from him.

Various security agencies and intelligence wings of the US have done their own investigation with regard to the Mumbai terrorist attack.

Earlier, the US had said there was a strong counter- terrorism cooperation with Pakistan and it hoped that Pakistan would follow through its commitment on bringing to justice the perpetrators of the attacks.

"The government of Pakistan has pledged its cooperation in bringing the perpetrators - financiers, and sponsors of the Mumbai terrorist attacks to justice and we urge Pakistan to follow through on that commitment," State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki had said, adding that Pakistan is a critical partner in fight against terrorism.
Not to get our BP up. Just use this case as an example of non-cooperation whenever a US official talks of cooperation/talks and any such things.

Dr Shakeel Afridi's lawyer gunned down in Peshawar
Harami Linkami
PESHAWAR: Dr Shakeel Afridi’s counsel — Samiullah Afridi — was shot dead Tuesday evening, .
Samiullah Afridi had only recently returned to Pakistan after having spent three months abroad.
While giving details, the SSP Operations said Samiullah Afridi was shot dead near Mithra, Aslam Dheri area of the city, while he was on his way home.Sources revealed that Samiullah Afrdi repeatedly received threat calls after which he left the case of Dr Shakil Afridi and moved abroad.Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan's faction Jundullah has taken responsibility of the attack.Dr Shakil Afridi, who helped the United States locate Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, has been jailed in Peshawar for his alleged links to various terrorist groups. In an earlier report based on interviews with friends and relatives of Dr Afridi, the US news channel Fox News claimed that his wife and children were “in increasing fear for their lives and should be evacuated from Pakistan immediately.”Dr Afridi’s wife and his two sons and a daughter had left their native province and were now hiding in Punjab. They feared for their lives because the Taliban and other terrorist groups had vowed to avenge Bin Laden’s killing, the report said.

Obviously Pakistan needs to maintain its guard against India’s threatening designs. We must take steps to strengthen internal unity and stability, accelerate our economic growth, promote religious and sectarian moderation, settle the issue of political unrest in Balochistan through political and economic initiatives, and root out the menace of terrorism, while maintaining a credible security deterrent at the lowest level of armaments and armed forces. The prospect of enduring tensions between Pakistan and India rules out the possibility of our joining the latter in an economic and monetary union. Simultaneously, we should strengthen our friendly relations and cooperation with both Afghanistan and Iran so that India does not succeed in turning them against us as Kautilya would have recommended. The strengthening of our strategic cooperation with China and improving our friendly relations with Russia should remain the cornerstone of our foreign policy. At the same time, we should maintain our friendship with the US despite the latter’s strategic partnership with India.
Alright, the thin-legged dhoti-shivering dark injuns are slightly ahead of us. Hmmm. Let's see - all we muslims have to do is:

1) strengthen internal unity and stability
2) accelerate our economic growth
3) promote religious and sectarian moderation
4) settle the issue of political unrest in Balochistan through political and economic initiatives
5) root out the menace of terrorism
6) maintain a credible security deterrent at the lowest level of armaments and armed forces
7) strengthen our friendly relations and cooperation with both Afghanistan and Iran
8) strengthen our strategic cooperation with China and improve our friendly relations with Russia
9) maintain our friendship with the US

There. That's all. So simple. In a few weeks we should be done, inshallah, and then we'll make short work of you kaffirs.

Bojitive development in Bollywood.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/ente ... 595850.cms
According to a report, singer Kunal Ganjawala has recently expressed his anger over presence of Pakistani musicians in Bollywood music. Expressing his love for Arijit Singh’s soulful singing, he said that the singer has shown Pakistani singers their way out. He also said that the Pakistani singers have not contributed to the Hindi film industry in any way. Talking about veteran Pakistani singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Kunal said that a lot of people in India can sing on that high a note. Moreover, about the much loved singer Atif Aslam, Kunal said that Atif does not have anything except arrogance.
Completely agree about Atif Aslam. I have never considered him to be a singer.

Kautilya’s Arthashastra and Pakistan
The writer is a retarded ambassador and the president of the Whore Council for World Affairs.
In view of the commitment of the present Narendra Modi-led BJP government in India to Hindutva, the probability that its strategy in dealing with Pakistan would be deeply influenced, if not governed, by the rules laid down by Kautilya in Arthashastra cannot be totally ruled out. From Pakistan’s point of view, the situation becomes even more dangerous if one takes into account India’s known hegemonic designs in South Asia, its rapidly growing economic and military power, outstanding Pakistan-India disputes like Kashmir and Siachin, and Narendra Modi’s known anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim bias. There is little doubt by now that India is pursuing a carefully worked out strategy to establish its hegemony in South Asia and Indian Ocean regions. Henry Kissinger in his book “World Order” says that on the pattern of the Monroe Doctrine which laid down a special role for the US in the Western Hemisphere, India is striving to carve out a special position for itself in the Indian Ocean region between the East Indies and the Horn of Africa. He adds that “India in the region of its special strategic interests conducts its policy on the basis of its own definition of a South Asian order” obviously with India at its centre as the determining factor. Other scholars of international politics have also taken note of India’s hegemonic designs in South Asia. For instance, Zbigniew Brzezinski in his book “Strategic Vision—America and the Crisis of Global Power” mentions that “Indian strategists speak openly of a greater India exercising a dominant position in an area ranging from Iran to Thailand. India is also positioning itself to control the Indian Ocean militarily.”
Therefore, a situation of latent hostility is likely to persist between Pakistan and India for the foreseeable future. Tensions rather than a climate of amity are likely to be the hallmark of the relations between the two countries as long as India does not give up its quest for hegemony in South Asia and disputes like Kashmir and Siachin remain unresolved. The periods of absence of tensions between Pakistan and India are likely to be few and far between. In such a state of continued hostility, India is likely to employ all the tricks of trade to destabilize, weaken, and demoralize Pakistan, which were recommended by Kautilya for fighting “concealed” and “silent” wars. If one takes into account the reports about India’s clandestine support to the militancy in Balochistan and terrorism in the rest of the country, this may be already happening.Obviously Pakistan needs to maintain its guard against India’s threatening designs. At the same time, we should maintain our friendship with the US despite the latter’s strategic partnership with India.

he China Three Gorges Corporation has official wrapped up construction work on its first wind farm in Pakistan, as part of vigorous efforts by the state-owned renewable energy giant to expand into the South Asian market.

Total investment for the Three Gorges wind farm in Pakistan was $130 million, for the creation of total installed capacity of 49.5 MW. The project has taken just over two years to complete, with work commencing at the end of January in 2013 and initial commercial operation beginning on November 25, 2014.

Three Gorges Corporation has touted the project as the first wind farm that a Chinese company has funded and built in Pakistan, as well as the only wind farm in Pakistan to be completed ahead of schedule.

At a completion ceremony held on March 11, China Three Gorges chairman Lu Chun said that Pakistan was a key strategic investment market for the company due to its close strategic ties with China, as well as its abundance of clean energy resources and strong market demand.

IMF chief hails India as 'bright spot' in world economy
NEW DELHI: International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde hailed India as the bright spot of the global economy on Monday ahead of talks in New Delhi with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Among the emerging markets, and compared to advanced economies, India is the bright spot,” the former French finance minister told The Times of India newspaper.

Since Modi came to power last May, inflation has fallen to around five per cent while revised gross domestic product (GDP) data has put growth for the current financial year at 7.4 per cent, meaning Asia's third largest economy is now outpacing China.

 A 7:00 in the video that arshyam posted, check the size of the coaches in the Baki metro, they are made to fit the environment they operate in. Also see the clearance between the coaches, the links are far enough to enable a 180 degree turn with a radius of only a few meters. Both these things are important in Bakistan. It is a well thought out design and I wont be surprised if there are more.

India, Pakistan set to resume bilateral cricketing ties from December.

Earlier Sharyar Khan and now Paki Ambassaador claiming there will be a revival of cricketing ties in Dec. when the BCCI secretary has clearly said that nothing is fixed yet and it is only Shahryar Khan's wish and interest to have a series in Dec. Pakis want a 'home series' in UAE or India as it will mean getting the bigger share of the telecast money for the cash-strapped PCB.

Pakistan is desperate for talks and is hoping for an invitation from India for resuming the secretary level talks. Assuming it can fool everybody all the time Pakis are dangling the lollipop of giving MFN status to india, if it resumes bilateral talks.

Pakis had successfully hoodwinked the Indian Babus of giving the MFN status to India, if it did not Veto the GSP + status to its goods in the EU Market. ofcourse once it was granted the status, Pakis went back on their promise and reaped the benefits of 1 Billion dollars in extra exports.

India could have very well have not allowed Pakistan to have an undue advantage of duty free access to its goods and make the extra billion dollars in exports if it had not granted the WTO waiver for getting the duty free access to the EU market. This is clear from this report that inspite of India not having the GSP plus status, it still increased its textile exports to the EU at an increased pace compared to Pakistan.

Pakistan loses sovereign immunity over Hyderabad Funds

NEW DELHI: The riveting, 67-year-old India-Pak Hyderabad Funds saga has taken another turn with High Court of Justice in London ruling that Pakistan no longer has sovereign immunity over the State of Hyderabad's wealth. All these years, India has been forced to deal with Pakistan bilaterally to recover the funds because in 1957 Pakistan invoked its right to sovereign immunity from any court proceedings in Britain on this issue, thereby blocking any possibility of recovering these funds through the legal route.

Hyderabad Funds refers to the 1,007,940 Pound Sterling and 9 Shillings transferred from the erstwhile State of Hyderabad's bank account in National Westminster Bank in London to an account in the same bank, of the then Pakistan high commissioner to UK on September 20 1948, just 2 days after the Nizam decided to accede to India. The money is currently valued around 35 million Pound Sterling and has 3 claimants - Pakistan, India and Nizam's family.

As the successor state to the Nizam's State of Hyderabad, India has all along maintained its claim over the money. Faced with no prospect of recovering the money through the Courts, ever since the 1960s the Indian cabinet has been approving efforts aimed at pursuing an out-of-court settlement with Pakistan and Nizam's heirs to recover what in the past has often been referred to as the sacred inheritance of the people of India.

With Pakistan no longer longer enjoying its state immunity over the funds, India has once again got the chance to seek a recovery of this inheritance through the legal route. According to the Indian government officials, the Funds were not private monies of the Nizam but monies that are referred to as State monies. The transfer to the account of the Pakistan High Commissioner took place on the instructions of the Nizam's finance minister who may have been an authorized signatory to the account, but he did it without the consent of the Nizam's Government as the Nizam himself later confirmed. ``These instructions were irregular in as much as the Finance Minister of the Nizam's Government had no power to withdraw this money without the express sanction of the Nizam or the State Government. The Nizam's subsequent instructions to retransfer the funds were not complied with,'' the government had said in a statement earlier.

The recent ruling of the British High Court of Justice in the case of the High Commissioner of Pakistan in UK vs National Westminister Bank & others means that the dispute over the ownership of funds can now once again be decided through the legal route, without Islamabad being able to block such proceedings. The matter had reached British courts in 1954 after the Nizam and the State of Hyderabad (then part of the Indian Union) challenged the transfer saying it had been effected by the Nizam's agent in London without the Nizam's or the Nizam Government's consent. At the time the matter went right up to the House of Lords who in 1957 recognized Pakistan's right to invoke sovereign immunity but also noted that its ruling meant that any legal proceedings to determine the true ownership of the Funds would now be blocked forever.

According to the recent High Court of Justice ruling Pakistan lost its sovereign immunity when it voluntarily decided to file a legal claim in 2013, against the National Westminster Bank seeking full recovery of all monies exclusively for itself. Midway through the proceedings Pakistan's seems to have realized that its claim could not possibly succeed without a loss of its state immunity over the funds. In fact it learnt that initiating proceedings itself amounted to voluntarily giving up its right to immunity and submitting to the Court's jurisdiction. And so in November 2013, just days before the first hearing on its case, Pakistan decided to discontinue the proceedings it had itself initiated.

Faced with Pakistan's attempt to recover the Hyderabad Funds through a suo motu legal effort, India had no choice but to ask to be 'impleaded' or joined in the proceedings. One of the pleas made by Pakistan while seeking to abruptly discontinue the proceedings was that it was under diplomatic pressure from India and that it was negotiating with other parties. In its ruling on January this year, the Court set aside Pakistan's plea to discontinue the proceedings, and formally joined all the interested parties which included India, the grandsons of the Nizam. The Court also asked Pakistan to pay the legal costs incurred by the Bank, India and the two grandsons who had opposed the Pakistani plea to abruptly discontinue the proceedings.

A leading UK legal firm BrownRudnick interpreted the decision as emphasizing that sovereign states must take great care not to take steps which can constitute a waiver of their sovereign immunity from jurisdiction.

So fauj is going after MQM with a vengence.
First they raided Altaf Hussein's house in Karachi, arrested the few MQM boys guarding that place.

Now they've made this video of a man Saulat Mirza who is on death row, and is about to be executed. This is a video recording that they are releasing in which he blames Altaf Hussain and another MQM big boss, Babar Ghauri, for ordering the murder of KEC MD (Karachi Electric supply Corporation) Shahid Hamid, his driver Ashraf Brohi and guard Khan Akbar in July 1997.
The establishment will push for this video to be appended as a dying declaration by this guy, implicating Altaf.

Altaf has been unusually vitriolic in his recent speeches, but this clearly is a kinda existential threat for him.
Hmm wonder what altaf's reaction might be hain

Guess many IED Mubaraks in Karachi and Sindh, more talk about sindhudesh etc etc
