GoI has already said it is ignoring any and all such reports from the US. Why give more importance to USCIRF than it deserves...studied indifference works just as well.

This is not from the govt, but hard-hitting nevertheless. I think it is actually better, since this piece was written on the 29th itself, so it's not in response to USCRIF. Responding to the report beyond what our MEA pithily said would be giving importance to it. But articles like these will help build an alternative narrative and help us hold up a mirror when some tut-tutting senator (and above) has an itch to lecture to the turd worlders.

Baltimore and more: Beneath the facade, Uncle Sam is also racist and bigoted - R Jaggi, FirstPost
The death in police custody of an Afro-American man some two weeks ago in Baltimore, about an hour's drive from Barack Obama's official residence, should tell Americans a simple thing that they are unwilling to acknowledge about themselves: beneath many of their white skins, and below their formal tolerance for non-Christian religions, a significant minority of Americans are actually as bigoted, narrow-minded, fundamentalist, racist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic and Hindu-phobic.
If one county can see so much vandalism against a microscopic minority of Hindus and Sikhs (who are often mistaken for Muslims), one can only conclude that White Christian fundamentalism is alive and well in America. This bigotry is obviously being fomented by some evangelists and church leaders like Pat Robertson, a former US presidential candidate, who calls Hinduism "demonic" and a "false religion", or pastor Franklin Franklin Graham, or even politicians like that Idaho senator who refused to attend a Hindu invocation at the opening of the state since she believes America is a Christian nation, and Hinduism is about a “false faith and false gods” (read all about America's Hindu-phobia here, where I got these examples from).
Racism is often compounded by Christian fundamentalism. America's so-called love of the first amendment to its constitution, which guarantees freedom of faith, sometimes degenerates into the "right to personal bigotry" - as many of the so-called Religious Freedom Restoration Acts (RFRAs) enacted in various states suggests. Freedom of religion to Christian fundamentalists means the right to discriminate against gays and lesbians, among other things, as I have noted earlier in Firstpost.
But the fountainhead of bigotry in the developed west is probably the US, where Christian fundamentalism, racism (Ku Klux Klan) and genocide (of American Indians) has been part of the nation’s warp and woof since birth.

Soon after the Baltimore riots , Barack Obama had this to say: "I think there are police departments that have to do some soul-searching. I think there's some communities that have to do some soul-searching. I think we as a country have to do some soul-searching."

He should begin by admitting that America has not bid goodbye to racism, bigotry and religion-based fundamentalism even after 240 years of existence as a country founded on the idea of a liberal society based on the rule of law.

Well our media will do the rest. As long as an average Indian understands everything that's happening, we can afford to ignore it.

Karthik S, you are certainly right about the media giving the US report publicity especially since the Indian govt. has said it is going to ignore it. I mean, this report has been around for months, but the Outlook finds it necessary to publish today.

X Posted from the "Christianity, Evangelism & its geopolitical impact" thread.

As a Christist Abrahamic majority country, the US predictably opts for siding with the Christist Abrahamic Evangelical Jihadi aka EvanJihadi agenda of harvesting Buddhist, Hindu, Jain and Sikh Souls and criticizes India for permitting Hindu’s the fundamental religious right of proselytizing for re-conversion via the Ghar Wapasi programme, a right which incidentally the US and adherents of Christism vehemently demand for their adherents.

Rather than seek to pursue the EvanJihadi agenda in India, the US should instead focus its energy on sorting out the problem of the extermination of African origin men by State-Actors and protection of Hindu places of worship from attack within the United States and outside the United States cease use of violent force in Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, etc.

RSS, VHP draw USCIRF fire for ghar wapsi, PM Narendra Modi praised for backing freedom of faith

After years of seeing tacit support for Hindu bashing by the US via the USCIRF report by Governments under the Nehru-Gandhi family led Congress Party for narrow religion based vote-bank politics, refreshing to see a dismissive message from our Government.

Our Government must also consider following the People’s Republic of China lead in this affair and release an annual report on US Human Right violations :

Official Spokesperson's response to a question on a report by USCIRF

April 30, 2015

In response to a question on a report by USCIRF the Official Spokesperson stated:

''Our attention has been drawn to a Report of the USCIRF which has passed judgement on religious freedom in India. It appears to be based on limited understanding of India, its constitution and its society.

We take no cognizance of this report.''

Innocent (until proven guilty) Christian Priest Kidnapped by Indian RSS Police (4 impersonating a police officer)! USCIRF Please Send Marines!
The accused, K Shymon P Paul, 38, of Koladi in Kottayam.. belonged to the Nelliyalam branch of Gospel in Action Fellowship in India, according to police.

Paul was found wearing the uniform of a sub-inspector on Monday. .. he had been posing as a police officer to persuade hoteliers and bus conductors to give him free food, accommodation and transport services. He also had a fake ID card claiming he was a police officer, part of the Tamil Nadu special task force, a Devala police official on the case said. His bank passbook has a picture of him dressed as a sub-inspector.

Posing as a policeman, he also attempted to convert the local tribals to Christianity, police said.

The Devala police registered a case against Paul under IPC sections 419, 420, 468 and 471 for cheating and fraud. He was arrested on Monday.
"After a thorough (thrashing) enquiry he has been remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday," said the police officer.

TRIBAL
India has about 80 million tribal scattered about 461 tribal clans. Most of the tribes live in remote areas far from the reach of modern methods of evangelism. They are in social, cultural and religious bondage. These animistic people are superstitious. The infant death rate is high among the tribal, malnutrition being the major cause. Most are illiterate and thus we cannot use the written forms of the gospel to evangelize them.

For the last 27 years our missionaries have been working among them (dressed as police officers). They teach them to read and write and to (salute police officers? This part is cut off from the web page).

It may be time for India's tribals to adopt the customs of Western tribals. Like how Captain Cook got his name:

Aloha, Cap-10, please come and enjoy dinner with us. Please sit in this big Ceremonial Warm Jacuzzi over the Source of Warmth. Become Cap10 Cook.

'We condemn the police brutality in America': How Western media would cover the unrest in Baltimore – if it was happening elsewhere

'International leaders expressed concern over the rising tide of racism and state violence in America, especially concerning the treatment of ethnic minorities in the country'

Morgan Freeman on the riot-focused coverage of the Baltimore protests: 'F**k the media'
Police have a standard reaction to shooting somebody. I fear for my life and I fear for my safety. Now, at least you can see, ‘Hey, his hands were up in the air! What part of your safety were you afraid of? The guy was running away, what part of your safety was in danger?’ There was one situation I saw where a cop told a guy to get out of the car, said, ‘Show me your driver’s license,’ and the guy reached back into the car and the cop shot him!”
From the UK Independent.A first for a major UK paper to expose Western ,especially US hypocrisy.
http://www.independent.co.uk/
If what is happening in Baltimore happened in a foreign country, here is how Western media would cover it:

International leaders expressed concern over the rising tide of racism and state violence in America, especially concerning the treatment of ethnic minorities in the country and the corruption in state security forces around the country when handling cases of police brutality. The latest crisis is taking place in Baltimore, Maryland, a once-bustling city on the country’s Eastern Seaboard, where an unarmed man named Freddie Gray died from a severed spine while in police custody.

Black Americans, a minority ethnic group, are killed by state security forces at a rate higher than the white majority population. Young, black American males are 21 times more likely to be shot by police than white American males.

The United Kingdom expressed concern over the troubling turn of events in America in the last several months. The country’s foreign ministry released a statement: “We call on the American regime to rein in the state security agents who have been brutalizing members of America’s ethnic minority groups. The equal application of the rule of law, as well as the respect for human rights of all citizens, black or white, is essential for a healthy democracy.” Britain has always maintained a keen interest in America, a former colony.

Palestine has offered continued assistance to American pro-democracy activists, sending anti-tear-gas kits to those protesting police brutality in various American cities. Egyptian pro-democracy groups have also said they will be sharing their past experience with U.S.-made counter-protest weapons.

A statement from the United Nations said, “We condemn the militarization and police brutality that we have seen in recent months in America, and we strongly urge American state security forces to launch a full investigation into the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore. There is no excuse for excessive police violence.” The U.N. called on the United States to make a concerted effort to make databases of police violence public to improve transparency and cut down on corruption in the justice system.

International analysts predict the seeds of a so-called “American Spring,” fomented by technology. “It’s amazing what social media is doing for the cause of justice in America,” said a political rights analyst based in Geneva.
“The black youth of America are showing what 21st-century civil rights activism looks like, using technology, social media and a decentralized organizing strategy to hold authorities accountable and agitate for change. These kids represent what modern-day freedom fighting looks like. The revolution will be tweeted, Periscope-d and Snapchatted.

Local leaders in the American township of Baltimore imposed a state of martial law this week after peaceful protests turned violent. In response, countries around the world have advised darker-skinned nationals against non-essential travel to areas noted for state violence against unarmed people of color, especially in recent hot spots such as New York, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Ohio, California, Michigan, Virginia and now Maryland.

International human rights groups have appealed to the global community to facilitate asylum for America’s ethnic black minorities. When asked whether the European Union was willing to take on more black refugees risking their lives in fleeing American state violence, an E.U. human rights spokesman said: “More black refugees? We are dealing with our own Mediterranean crisis, so now is not really a good time for that for us. Furthermore, we believe in American solutions to American problems.” The African Union has not responded to requests for comment.

American government officials took to state media, characterizing the protesters as “thugs,” a racially coded word increasingly used to describe black males in America. Commentators in national media have frequently compared the protesters and riots to various characters and events from the popular television series “The Wire,” set in early-2000s Baltimore.

America’s ethnic blacks have been displaced from many of their communities due to a phenomenon experts on the region call “gentrification,” when wealthier residents move into a lower-income area. Baltimore is no exception to this trend, with some areas seeing home values rise as much as 137 percent after corporate dollars move in on opportunities in poverty-stricken areas.

Resident Joe Smith, a member of the white majority ethnic group, said outside of a brand-new Starbucks near Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, “I don’t know why these blacks are destroying their own communities. Why don’t these people follow Martin Luther King’s example? Those guys got it good from the police back then too, but they didn’t try to rise up and fight back and make everyone uncomfortable, you know?”

For the record, USCIRF is only concerned about human rights 'ABROAD' and not within USA. link
See the line
monitors the universal right to freedom of religion or belief abroad.
Universal right to freedom of religion or belief abroad - thereby mention of Universal and abroad in the same line. The United Nations declaration of human rights does not differentiate between within and abroad.

FWIW:
US again raises Ford Foundation issue with India
The US side, led by under secretary for political affairs Wendy Sherman, is believed to have quizzed the Indian delegation on two key issues — why was the Indian government going after one of the biggest US NGOs, and that India should do more to support former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed.

India has denied any suggestion of a witch hunt against Ford Foundation or any of the big NGOs that are currently under the scanner. Sources said Ford Foundation, as an NGO donor, is not allowed to make donations for political causes to 'companies', which is a violation of FCRA regulations. They also point to other discrepancies of the organization which may have been shared with the US side. :| :x

IMO the underlined above is a BIG MISTAKE, now they will learn how the Indian side percieves things and what "events" our internal security agencies listen to in order to pull up an NGO.

We should never ever share the evidence to an external entity before the case is completed in its entirity under the Indian judicial system (5star or otherwise should be irrelevant).

The other thing is... I assumed earlier that FF was just another front, but from all the noises unkil is making, it now appears that FF is THE front, i.e. in unkilspeak: The Big Kahuna. Hopefully M&D will put in place a very tight institutional mechanism that will make operating something like FF very difficult legally. They need to build a "legal wall" around national security in such a way that if FF wants to act as a front they would break one or the other criminal laws and their execs can cool their heels among the hardened folks in Tihar.

From a link posted by ramanaji some time back
India Needs an Environmental Opposition Party
The environmental opposition party would be Gandhian, as Gandhi’s economic development vision fully incorporated Indian and environmental values.

What would an Indian environmental agenda look like?

Here are a few suggestions:

India should quickly join the US/China agreement to restrict carbon emissions and combat global warming, and call for all three countries to develop a joint strategy.

India should identify coal for elimination by devising a concerted national strategy to replace coal with renewable energy as quickly as possible. The strategy would include subsidies to renewable energy producers, and targets for renewable power generation.

India should implement a radical new transportation policy to leapfrog internal combustion technology. Internal combustion vehicles are starting to disappear in the developed world. India should stop wasting precious resources on this out of date technology. India will never have sufficient infrastructure to support a private automobile system. The current policy is causing transportation gridlock, air pollution, noise pollution and ever-growing fossil fuel consumption.

India should phase out motorcycles. India is producing vast numbers of motorcycles, which are trumpeted as the poor man’s family vehicle. Motorcycles are not family vehicles. Motorcycles are inherently unsafe. In India’s unregulated traffic environment their use poses a serious safety hazard. The addition of millions of motorcycles to Indian roads is polluting the environment, killing thousands of people and compounding the current chaos on the Indian roads.

India should phase out private vehicles (with the possible exception of electric vehicles) and create a state of the art, world class public transportation system, heavily subsidized by the government. The system would feature highly efficient subway systems, and electric busses. The cost to passengers should be nominal.

India should curtail investments in expensive highway and road projects.
Travel should be by subway, rail, and electric bus, with public transportation extending anywhere in the country. India should create a world class subway and railway system, including the introduction of high speed bullet trains

India should curtail investments in Air travel. India should adopt no policy option that does not meet the needs of the common man. Air travel only benefits the affluent and is inherently bad for the environment. It uses vast amounts of fossil fuel and contributes to pollution and global warming.
India should eliminate American style packaging. This includes plastic bags, the almost indestructible packaging used for processed foods, and the widespread use of plastic bottles. India has no system in place to remove and process this vast amount of nonbiodegradable packaging. All packaging should be biodegradable.

Wrong comparison. [No-]Action by Bakis on Indian dosa vs Action by India on Indian dosa. In one case we have no control where as on the other we have full control.

"Discrepancies of the organization which may have been shared with the US side" does not mean much. Most of the discrepancies on GP are already part of the order against it and as far as FF is concerned, the complaint that resulted in extra focus is also well known.

Additional example or two might have been shared but those are similar to GP issues like "85% grant used for administration", etc. These are related to the nuts and bolts of the FCRA act the provisions of which is in the public domain.

The Ford Foundation and its covert CIA agenda.

AAP founding member revolts, says party has CIA links

The Ford Foundation and the CIA:
A documented case of philanthropic collaboration
with the Secret Police

by James Petras
The CIA uses philanthropic foundations as the most effective conduit to channel large sums of money to Agency projects without alerting the recipients to their source. From the early 1950s to the present the CIA's intrusion into the foundation field was and is huge. A U.S. Congressional investigation in 1976 revealed that nearly 50% of the 700 grants in the field of international activities by the principal foundations were funded by the CIA (Who Paid the Piper? The CIA and the Cultural Cold War, Frances Stonor Saunders, Granta Books, 1999, pp. 134-135). The CIA considers foundations such as Ford "The best and most plausible kind of funding cover" (Ibid, p. 135). The collaboration of respectable and prestigious foundations, according to one former CIA operative, allowed the Agency to fund "a seemingly limitless range of covert action programs affecting youth groups, labor unions, universities, publishing houses and other private institutions" (p. 135). The latter included "human rights" groups beginning in the 1950s to the present. One of the most important "private foundations" collaborating with the CIA over a significant span of time in major projects in the cultural Cold War is the Ford Foundation.

This essay will demonstrate that the Ford Foundation-CIA connection was a deliberate, conscious joint effort to strengthen U.S. imperial cultural hegemony and to undermine left-wing political and cultural influence. We will proceed by examining the historical links between the Ford Foundation and the CIA during the Cold War, by examining the Presidents of the Foundation, their joint projects and goals as well as their common efforts in various cultural areas.

Background: Ford Foundation and the CIA

By the late 1950s the Ford Foundation possessed over $3 billion in assets. The leaders of the Foundation were in total agreement with Washington's post-WWII projection of world power. A noted scholar of the period writes: "At times it seemed as if the Ford Foundation was simply an extension of government in the area of international cultural propaganda. The foundation had a record of close involvement in covert actions in Europe, working closely with Marshall Plan and CIA officials on specific projects" (Ibid, p.139). This is graphically illustrated by the naming of Richard Bissell as President of the Foundation in 1952. In his two years in office Bissell met often with the head of the CIA, Allen Dulles, and other CIA officials in a "mutual search" for new ideas. In 1954 Bissell left Ford to become a special assistant to Allen Dulles in January 1954 (Ibid, p. 139). Under Bissell, the Ford Foundation (FF) was the "vanguard of Cold War thinking".

One of the FF first Cold War projects was the establishment of a publishing house, Inter-cultural Publications, and the publication of a magazine Perspectives in Europe in four languages. The FF purpose according to Bissell was not "so much to defeat the leftist intellectuals in dialectical combat (sic) as to lure them away from their positions" (Ibid, p. 140). The board of directors of the publishing house was completely dominated by cultural Cold Warriors. Given the strong leftist culture in Europe in the post-war period, Perspectives failed to attract readers and went bankrupt.

Another journal Der Monat funded by the Confidential Fund of the U.S. military and run by Melvin Lasky was taken over by the FF, to provide it with the appearance of independence (Ibid, p. 140).

In 1954 the new president of the FF was John McCloy. He epitomized imperial power. Prior to becoming president of the FF he had been Assistant Secretary of War, president of the World Bank, High Commissioner of occupied Germany, chairman of Rockefeller's Chase Manhattan Bank, Wall Street attorney for the big seven oil companies and director of numerous corporations. As High Commissioner in Germany, McCloy had provided cover for scores of CIA agents (Ibid, p. 141).

McCloy integrated the FF with CIA operations. He created an administrative unit within the FF specifically to deal with the CIA. McCloy headed a three person consultation committee with the CIA to facilitate the use of the FF for a cover and conduit of funds. With these structural linkages the FF was one of those organizations the CIA was able to mobilize for political warfare against the anti-imperialist and pro-communist left. Numerous CIA "fronts" received major FF grants. Numerous supposedly "independent" CIA sponsored cultural organizations, human rights groups, artists and intellectuals received CIA/FF grants. One of the biggest donations of the FF was to the CIA organized Congress for Cultural Freedom which received $7 million by the early 1960s. Numerous CIA operatives secured employment in the FF and continued close collaboration with the Agency (Ibid, p. 143).

From its very origins there was a close structural relation and interchange of personnel at the highest levels between the CIA and the FF. This structural tie was based on the common imperial interests which they shared. The result of their collaboration was the proliferation of a number of journals and access to the mass media which pro-U.S. intellectuals used to launch vituperative polemics against Marxists and other anti-imperialists. The FF funding of these anti-Marxists organizations and intellectuals provided a legal cover for their claims of being "independent" of government funding (CIA).

The FF funding of CIA cultural fronts was important in recruiting non-communist intellectuals who were encouraged to attack the Marxist and communist left. Many of these non-communist leftists later claimed that they were "duped", that had they known that the FF was fronting for the CIA, they would not have lent their name and prestige. This disillusionment of the anti-communist left however took place after revelations of the FF-CIA collaboration were published in the press. Were these anti-communist social democrats really so naive as to believe that all the Congresses at luxury villas and five star hotels in Lake Como, Paris and Rome, all the expensive art exhibits and glossy magazines were simple acts of voluntary philanthropy? Perhaps. But even the most naive must have been aware that in all the Congresses and journals the target of criticism was "Soviet imperialism" and "Communist tyranny" and "leftist apologists of dictatorship" -- despite the fact that it was an open secret that the U.S. intervened to overthrow the democratic Arbenz government in Guatemala and the Mossadegh regime in Iran and human rights were massively violated by U.S. backed dictators in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and elsewhere.

The "indignation" and claims of "innocence" by many anti-communist left intellectuals after their membership in CIA cultural fronts was revealed must be taken with a large amount of cynical skepticism. One prominent journalist, Andrew Kopkind, wrote of a deep sense of moral disillusionment with the private foundation-funded CIA cultural fronts. Kopkind wrote

"The distance between the rhetoric of the open society and the reality of control was greater than anyone thought. Everyone who went abroad for an American organization was, in one way or another, a witness to the theory that the world was torn between communism and democracy and anything in between was treason. The illusion of dissent was maintained: the CIA supported socialist cold warriors, fascist cold warriors, black and white cold warriors. The catholicity and flexibility of the CIA operations were major advantages. But it was a sham pluralism and it was utterly corrupting" (Ibid, pp. 408-409)."

When a U.S. journalist Dwight Macdonald who was an editor of Encounter (a FF-CIA funded influential cultural journal) sent an article critical of U.S. culture and politics it was rejected by the editors, working closely with the CIA (Ibid, pp. 314-321). In the field of painting and theater the CIA worked with the FF to promote abstract expressionism against any artistic expression with a social content, providing funds and contacts for highly publicized exhibits in Europe and favorable reviews by "sponsored" journalists. The interlocking directorate between the CIA, the Ford Foundation and the New York Museum of Modern Art lead to a lavish promotion of "individualistic" art remote from the people -- and a vicious attack on European painters, writers and playwrights writing from a critical realist perspective. "Abstract Expressionism" whatever its artist's intention became a weapon in the Cold War (Ibid, p. 263).

The Ford Foundation's history of collaboration and interlock with the CIA in pursuit of U.S. world hegemony is now a well-documented fact. The remaining issue is whether that relationship continues into the new Millenium after the exposures of the 1960s? The FF made some superficial changes. They are more flexible in providing small grants to human rights groups and academic researchers who occasionally dissent from U.S. policy. They are not as likely to recruit CIA operatives to head the organization. More significantly they are likely to collaborate more openly with the U.S. government in its cultural and educational projects, particularly with the Agency of International Development.

The FF has in some ways refined their style of collaboration with Washington's attempt to produce world cultural domination, but retained the substance of that policy. For example the FF is very selective in the funding of educational institutions. Like the IMF, the FF imposes conditions such as the "professionalization" of academic personnel and "raising standards." In effect this translates into the promotion of social scientific work based on the assumptions, values and orientations of the U.S. empire; to have professionals de-linked from the class struggle and connected with pro-imperial U.S. academics and foundation functionaries supporting the neo-liberal model.

As in the 1950s and 60s the Ford Foundation today selectively funds anti-leftist human rights groups which focus on attacking human rights violations of U.S. adversaries, and distancing themselves from anti-imperialist human rights organizations and leaders. The FF has developed a sophisticated strategy of funding human rights groups (HRGs) that appeal to Washington to change its policy while denouncing U.S. adversaries their "systematic" violations. The FF supports HRGs which equate massive state terror by the U.S. with individual excesses of anti-imperialist adversaries. The FF finances HRGs which do not participate in anti-globalization and anti-neoliberal mass actions and which defend the Ford Foundation as a legitimate and generous "non-governmental organization".

History and contemporary experience tells us a different story. At a time when government over-funding of cultural activities by Washington is suspect, the FF fulfills a very important role in projecting U.S. cultural policies as an apparently "private" non-political philanthropic organization. The ties between the top officials of the FF and the U.S. government are explicit and continuing. A review of recently funded projects reveals that the FF has never funded any major project that contravenes U.S. policy.

In the current period of a major U.S. military-political offensive, Washington has posed the issue as "terrorism or democracy," just as during the Cold War it posed the question as "Communism or Democracy." In both instances the Empire recruited and funded "front organizations, intellectuals and journalists to attack its anti-imperialist adversaries and neutralize its democratic critics. The Ford Foundation is well situated to replay its role as collaborator to cover for the New Cultural Cold War.

USAID: A history of front companies acting on behalf of the CIA

(WMR)—The recent disclosure by the Associated Press that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), a notorious nexus for contract fraud within the State Department, contracted out a project to develop a rival to Twitter in order to foment rebellion in Cuba has refocused attention on USAID’s long history of acting as a contract vehicle for various CIA covert activities.

The setting up of the Cuban Twitter-like system, called ZunZuneo, was contracted to Creative Associates, Inc. (CAI), which conducted most of its out-of-Cuba operations in Costa Rica. The contract to CAI was awarded as part of the State Department’s “Civil Society Support Program,” the same program that has been used by the CIA to foment rebellions in Ukraine, Syria, Libya, Egypt, Iran, and other countries.

Disturbing patterns of links of Ford Foundation (CIA operatives) with AAP operatives
From: Mohan R.
Lot of tweets and buzz doing round about growing presence of Ford Foundation in India and Indian politics. Felt like doing some research on this. Trust me results have been shocking. It really raises questions – IS INIDA SAFE?

What is Ford Foundation?
Always thought that Ford Foundation was a philanthropic organization involved in charity, until I came across few of these links.

http://globalresearch.ca/articles/PET209A.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Foundation

Then I realized that in the garb of charity, their mandate is to ensure WASHINGTON’S HEGEMONY (DOMINANCE) in international market.
It was established as a front of US’ Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The modus operandi is to fund people / professions that can influence decision making and policy making – authors, historians, journalists, social activists, media companies, publishers, etc.

Digging further on this, I got even more worried, when I saw their increasing interest and presence in Indian politics.

Here is the list of Indians/ NGOs who have been funded by or have proximity to Ford Foundation
Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia’s NGO – Kabeer
Mallika Sarabhai’s Darpana
Yogendra Yadav was funded by ICSSR of Jawaharlal Nehru University, which in turn was funded by Ford Foundation
Amartya Sen for its books – Ideas of Justice
Teesta Setalvad and Javed’s Sabrang Communication, one who has been fighting against Modi all these years

And you would know, most of these guys are part of Aam Aadmi Party or are major supporters of AAP.
This poses a very serious question on why is Ford Foundation interested in Indian Politics.

Just to do further research on members of Aam Aadmi Party, I tried to find some details on other members like Aruna Roy, Medha Patkar, Prashant Bhushan and Gopal Rai…
And this was even a bigger SHOCKER to me…

Aruna Roy is the one who had sent a petition to President PRANAB MUKHERJEE for mercy towards Ajmal Kasab.. the one who killed so many innocents in Mumbai terror attack on 26th November 2008. She was also part of Sonia Gandhi’s National Advisory Council

Here are some links pertaining to the same
http://www.kashmirtimes.in/newsdet.aspx?q=11654

Prashant Bhushan, who we all know for the rubbish referendum view on Kashmir, was also the preferred mediator of the Maoists a couple of years back. Now why would they want Prashant Bhushan?? Did they trust that Prashant Bhushan would show some soft corner towards them?

Here are the links pertaining to the same

http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/pras ... 34580.html
http://indianexpress.com/news/maoists-n ... rs/940819/

Medha Patkar – we all know her for being responsible for delay in Sardar Sarovar Dam. But something that I didn’t know earlier, I came to know when I read the link given below. It says that tribals in Chattisgarh had thrown her out of the village of Dantewada for herpro-naxal behavior.

http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes ... an-tribals

There were some other articles, which suggested her proximity to Angana Chatterjee (who was suspected to be an ISI agent). But didn’t know the authenticity of the article, hence not attaching it.

Gopal Rai – Ex member of Sonia Gandhi’s NAC. Was president of All India Students Association (associated with CPI (M-L)), which is known for its pro Maoist stance..

If all this was not enough, One more article that I came across and that raised doubts on CIA’s interest in India is the one in Economic Times, that suggested that Government was giving work for Aadhar to a startup – MongoDB, which is funded by CIA’s venture fund. Links to the same are given below.

http://articles.economictimes.indiatime ... a-in-q-tel

This really is giving me a sleepless nights. Just wondering, if we have so many anti nationals within the country, do we really see Pakistan and China as a bigger threat?

But then was wondering, why is media not exposing all this? But then somewhere the answer is in front of us – Manish Sisodia (ex journalist with Zee), Yogendra Yadav (ex Journalist CNN IBN), Shazia Ilmi (ex journalist) and the latest entrant Ashutosh (ex Managing Editor IBN7)… Are they not a party to it?

Also wondered why people like Meera Sanyal (ex chief RBS) and V Bala (ex Director Infosys) joining AAP. Then came to know that Meera Sanyal’s NGO Pradan (which operates in Naxal hit belt) is funded by Ford Foundation. Also, Narayan Murthy (Chairman of Infosys) is on the board of Ford Foundation. Probably there could be his compulsion to align with them given that 60% of Infosys'business comes from US.

We all believe corruption is an issue, but nothing can be bigger that National Security.

We all want corruption free India and Aam Admi Party raised some hopes. But these news articles, really make me worried that by extending our support to AAP, are we compromising on NATIONAL SECURITY?

If people who can compromise on national security for personal gains, will they ever give you corruption free governance?

Like Ford Foundation, is AAP only a front face of some bigger conspiracy?
This time, I was thinking of seriously giving a chance to AAP… but not ANYMORE…

As a TRUE INDIAN, if this is worrying you as well, do forward it to spread awareness. Main Stream Media will not do that job.

India should simply enforce its rules. As Minister Javadekar said recently in a speech pertaining to the environment, the primary focus of the Modi government is to streamline the voluminous regs and implement them with vigor. In the case of the 1000s of NGOs operating in India, they are doing just that. The US must support better governance in India, and take cognizance of Indian govt.'s sovereign, primary and continuous role in representing Indians and Indian society. India should be bringing up ford foundation with the US, instead.

US and its views on India and its governance must be treated with the same contempt that they would exhibit if the roles were reversed. FF must be disbarred and banned if only to send a message to the US to STFU and that it has no business interfering with GoI's actions against NGOs, especially the FF kind.

Don't see how he managed to reconcile being a committed communist given that he is one of the most successful capitalists in the country...but people are complicated. From the description of others who are not blinded by his uber-richness, he seems to be more a toadie for "west is best" rather than a communist, given his open admiration for how the british managed to build India into the shining city on the hill (in his view), even given the brit colonial history's depradations, which he overlooks.

It is actually a very good speech by Narayana Murthy. It is after he stepped down from Infosys firvyhe first time, he seemed to err in his judgments.

KLNM: He calls himself a leftist not communist. He said this categorically in a public lecture I attended. He does not like totalitarian govts. That said, I met him for five minutes one on one, plus I attended two of his lectures - one in a very small classroom setting and another a public lecture. I think he is a tad too old to come up with any new innovative ideas - especially on the product front.

Can we please send an MP delegation from India to investigate how racism is entrenched in the DNA of a 500 year old country with native Indian settlers occupied by white immigrants please?
