It takes dozens of Sherpas to enable each of this climbers to scale the peaks. Talk about complete denial of others. These visitors from the West have little regard for the local traditions of worshipping and their spiritual approach to the mountains.
This is a good point. Think about this ....the sherpas are not merely 'guides' showing them where to go. They are hired to carry loads/supplies up and down the mountain, making several trips between each camp.

Now, can you imagine what it would take to climb those rocks, snow drifts, ice falls (Khumbu) with a heavy load on your back. Per this link, some loads are heavier than some of the sherpas themselves. A true mountaineer/sportsman should be singing paens to what these people actually manage to do on a daily basis at those altitudes- it is way beyond what most mountaineers can do themselves. You hear very little of that in actuality.

Lisa,

I haven't looked at the details, but I find EVEL fraught with the risk of constitutional deadlock. As there is no separate English parliament, there may be a situation in the future where a ruling party/coalition has an overall majority at Westminster but not among English MPs eligible to vote for English Laws. This would render the duly elected government at Westminster essentially toothless on matters concerning the vast majority of the electorate. The democratic logic points to separate Scottish and English parliaments for "devolved" issues and for Westminster to consider matters that impact the union. The English First Minister may well be more powerful than the UK PM, but that may be the only logical answer to the West Lothian question. I expect a separate English PM and Parliament will also hasten the dissolution of the union.

Malicious Infantile Old Farts
- standard colonisation procedure

This is why Chinese referred to them as "foreign devils"; their infantile nastiness. When auztralian ambassador to China, Dr. Gregory Clarke, pointed out the cause of the conflict which, he says, eventually led to the so-called "Vietnam War", his so-called superiors wrote in the margin that they wanted to see India and China "at each other's throats". This is the same feral malignancy with which Dylann Roof murdered black church-goers he'd never met and who had never done him any harm whatsoever. It's not that the emotionally disturbed and mentally retarded Roof hated blacks so much as that he simply hated.

Official records reveal debate in 1983 over extraordinary plan to move millions of Chinese to Ireland at height of Troubles in run up to handover of colony to Beijing
- UK officials discussed resettling 5.5m Hong Kong Chinese in Northern Ireland

The conflict this would have caused is obvious, especially as they've done it many times before: the title echoes the 17th-century settlement, or “plantation”, of Scots in Ulster by King James I.

The gangster-run, thieved prison-state did the same to Palestine, forcing Palestinians to accept European Jews.

They did the same when they thieved America, offering free land to immigrants, whilst slaughtering the bison to try and starve the native Americans out.

They did the same to the thieved states of Kanada and Auztralia when they told their own brats they were orphans and shipped them off to become slaves that were raped and tortured.
This is standard infantile nastiness, knowing full well the trouble that would be caused. They also reneged on Hong Kong passports which supposedly gave Hong Kong Chinese free passage through ports into the thieved state of Poodleville, instead restricting numbers. No such restrictions apply to Anglo migrants from other Anglo-thieved states.

The revealed papers show the disregard for those being re-located or those already resident in N. Ireland, with their colonization policies given priority.

Incidentally, the "troubles" is the euphemism for the republican Irish fighting off the Anglo infestation.

Empress of India No More
- India rules the skies

Following a successful orbit of Mars, India forges ahead in space.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) consolidated its position as a commercial satellite launch global leader after successfully hauling into orbit five British satellites simultaneously on Friday night, July 10.
- India’s ISRO launches record five satellites, plans 28 more

After having her economy collapsed by the Anglo in the 18th century, India is slowly recovering. Just as the poodle state is dependent on China for nuklar power, it is dependent on India for launching satellites into space and unlike the Amerikans, India doesn't lose poodles such as Beagle II.

The poodle empire was over a century ago and the teeny, tiny thieved state continues to implode in a death-spiral of consumption without producing anything.

Well done India!

Apart from a grudging report in BBC, have not seen much mention of ISRO launching 5 British satellites on July 10..wonder where the hordes who would descend on us after previous satellite launches have disappeared to.

Yep,
there was hardly any mention apart from the BBC website. The BBC did not report it on TV.
To my knowledge no other mainstream paper did either.

=============================

Sloppy

Propaganda is all the Anglos have to peddle their krudware.

In an article for German newspaper the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung under the headline “Top English boarding schools disappoint”, Mr Holle wrote that extensive experience of his adopted country’s private school system and being “well on the way to putting a seven-figure sum into the English public school system” has robbed him of his illusions
. . .
“It is said time and time again, how paradisiacal and in every respect advantageous English boarding schools are,” he wrote..

“My conclusion so far: not everything that glitters is gold, not by a long chalk.”
- German expat banker tells countrymen: don't send your kids to 'disappointing' British private schools

This is where "rip-off Britain" believes its own hype, which is all they have and the indolent timewasters provide a sloppy service from the skool of "couldn't give a rat's a****".

Just as anglo/amerikan krudmobile had lots of heavy chrome: “The great strength of the English schools and students is the self-presentation,” said Mr Holle, a managing director at the London office of investment bank Piper Jaffray. “But appearances are deceptive: even at the top English boarding schools, children don’t learn more than in Germany, probably less.
. . .The German banker also criticised the country’s boarding schools for cocooning students in a world of wealth and privilege.

“Learning less and paying a lot is one thing,” he wrote. “Much worse, however, is that even a short stay in an English boarding school will lead to children losing any respect for money. How many chauffeurs are waiting today at parents' evenings in Germany in dark limousines at the school gate? In England there’s a lot.

At Eton they make the stoodents wear tailed coats to imbue them with a sense of arrogance. Such overt displays of opulence is the preserve of the snob. And just as all bullies are cowards, all show-offs are pretentious nouveau riche scumbags. All that's needed to complete their edukashun in arrogance is membership of the puerile Bullingdon Club.

Mr Holle told the Telegraph that the purpose of his article was to “disabuse” people of the “fantastical notions” being circulated in Germany about the benefits of English public schools.

Now where would Germans get such notions? Yes, it's the anglo/zionist propaganda which accused Joseph Goebbels of being a propagandist.

Despite the damning indictment the Anglo propagandist has no qualms parroting the standard BS that "rip-off Britain" produces the best in the World for everything: "Parents choose UK boarding schools because they are widely regarded as being among the best schools in the world.

What the banker doesn't know is how amazingly krappy the state skools are!!!! Or perhaps he does, which is why he has to pay all over again to finance public skools.

"UK systems highly tinted with colonialism"

Jul 19, 2015

UK economic and political systems are highly tinted with colonialism deeply rooted in the country’s history an expert told Press TV.

Societal Affairs Analyst and Social Justice Practitioner Explo Nani-kofi referred to the recent investigation into racist views of UK police officers saying because of the colonialist history of the UK, people in the country see themselves as superior to other nations.

A UK police investigation says many police officers have used a secret online forum to express their racist views about ethnic groups. The investigation has sparked a hot debate in the UK about the police brutality.

He went on emphasizing the racist views are not limited to police noting that both the economic and political systems in the UK are deeply tinted with such views.

“The problem of racist police is part of a machinery of control. To this end, UK is using a mechanism to control the society. The mechanism include racism, prejudice and Islamophobia,” said the analyst.

Nani-Kofi then referred to the social consequences of the racism among UK police adding minority groups and ethnic communities are paying the price of the institutionalized racism by being targeted without charges.

The impression I got from my recent visit to "burra saheb" land is that the place is overrun by EU folks - Greeks, Spanish, Italian, French, and other east Europeans. Polish were there way ahead if others. They are in no position to pay anybody anything going forward. MP shashi tharoor better expend his hot air on some other target which might yield somewhat better ROI, if hot air can be termed investment.

Wonderful talk by Shashi Tharoor, really lays into all the justifications/mitigations for colonialism. Very clear, direct and forceful, yet with timely sprinklings of humour as well.

And no praise for the British from this quarter, but would it be possible to conduct an event like this in an Islamic country, like Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi? Where someone, noticeably form a country or place which has suffered from Islamic depredations in the past, speaks so openly and forcefully about exploitation/invasion/genocide/vandalism etc, in front of an audience that is largely Moslem?

Varoon, this is typical argument used by the Brutes themselves. E.g. if there are two criminals, let us say brutal mass killers, and one listens to the criticism for 5 seconds and another one does not. Is this sufficient to heap praise and raise a distinction between the two? Are other perpetrators of mass genocide lot as good listeners?

Also, this is an audience that is University based. Try putting these to the UK Govt. and see if you get listened to? UK government has given curt one-line answers to Indian requests to return our cultural loot--they actually said, since we possess it, it is ours ... by the right of possessing it. No mention if nazis could have used the same argument.

Also, they understand that there is a strategic benefit to letting people say these things. Arabs and centrail asians did not not learn that lesson in PR. Don't fall for this trick.

True, but the laughter as well as the applause was genuine. Let's acknowledge that. I don't think it's mastery over PR, those people in West/Central Asia are simply uncivilised in that aspect i.e being able to view their history critically and admit that they committed horrible crimes. The British are capable.

I agree, it does not happen often that an Indian with Shashi Tharoor's eloquence gets to tell the truth to the Brits. It's not about the Brits *actually* paying reparations, it's about telling the facts to the Brits and indeed even people in India (many Indians don't know the facts and/or don't want to know them, this is why (one of the reasons) a comprehensive reform of the Indian education system is a must).

As for comments like this:

All praise to Tharoor. I don't know if he is a BRF member, certainly looks like it.

vayu tuvan - Thre is merit to what you are saying. Tharoor is speaking in what appears to be clipped British accent, he is using the idoms and humor very typically British. The whole framework of the argument is still to take British arguments about the goodness of the Raj and argue them. In other words, it is still circulating around them.

As much as I would like to criticize it, it is OK given how low India has sunk. Consider that the none of the so-called father of nation or founders of the nation even articulated a fraction of what Tharoor did. The father of the nation MKG and first iconic PM of India actually recruited the troops for them; they got arranged for one million Indians to fight someone else, their slave masters war and got 100,000 killed. Did they even talk about the British-induced famines in India? Considering that, ST has done outstanding. I long for a day when the evil of the Brutish rule is self-evident and one need not argue it--just like one does not need to argue the wrongs of Nazi holocaust.

Varoon - The audience and the people of UK are pretty shameless. I don't think it moved them an inch towards returning even one thing. Let us take one, just one, cultural item they looted. They just wouldn't. Words are cheap, claps are cheap, even heartfelt words are cheap. Let them do something.

Sire, I read your take on various issues with interest. Let me say that I do not trust both the parties - the criticizing and the criticized. What MP Shashi Tharoor had done here is exactly the opposite of the dictum that "Talk softly but carry a big stick". He is not talking softly. The reason he is being lionized by Oxford Union and BBC i sthat they know he does not have stick. Please contrast this with their stonewalling Mr. Rajiv Malhotra by cancelling his talk at the same university if not the same venue.

I trust neither MP Shashi Tharoor nor BBC. The question I have to answer for myself is this: Why is an organization whose board consists of 50% elite and which has been in the avant-garde of detractors of all things Indian is now praising a man who is criticizing their elite brethren and their forefathers?

Going by the comments from the British commoners at the end of that article, the voting public is either not bothered or doesn't feel any responsibility for what their forefathers had done to India and its people. Moreover they are woefully (for MP Sashi Tharoor) ignorant of who he is. It makes sense to everybody else other than our young MP who thinks he is very erudite and polished. Hde has been, what, an appointed UN functionary who could not get the support of the international (mainly the US) support for the top job at the UN. He got elected as an MP (IMHO) due to Cong(I) high-command throwing their support behind him.

Several explanations are possible. On the top of my list is that BBC is setting up a straw man to knock it down later to gain a few brownie points from the voting banks. Otherwise what exactly BBC is gaining by becoming unpopular with the commoners?

CT you say? may be, may be not. Let us wait and see.

Maybe a few of them will, even if it is a strongly worded letter to the British government or HM. But the return of a few jewels should be for Indians, far less significant, than the acknowledgement and admission of wrongdoing. Shashi Tharoor's assertion that India's poverty is the result of British colonialism resonated well with that particular audience. The task is to make this fact percolate to the masses.

It could be deception among a few of the individuals, but surely not among all or a majority. Let's not make "the best the enemy of the good". It is good that these things are being talked about openly, and that some Britishers are in full agreement.

In an Islamic country, could someone, particularly a non-Moslem( even a Moslem for that matter) get up like that and admonish and expose a whole set of historical behaviours and ideologies? And live to tell of it? Show me when a Hindu, for example, went to Saudi, Afghanistan, Iran or Turkey, and spoke passionately about the depredations and atrocities Moslems committed in India historically? Would love to see such a youtube video!

The father of the nation MKG and first iconic PM of India actually recruited the troops for them; they got arranged for one million Indians to fight someone else, their slave masters war and got 100,000 killed. Did they even talk about the British-induced famines in India? Considering that, ST has done outstanding.
Good sir, MKG got us freedom and had a following numbering into 100s of millions (India's population at that time was ~of 330 million or so). Several bright college students, had they finished their studies, would have fit right into English invented babucracy, sacrificed their future and threw their lot with Mahatma and his dream of a free India. In the final analysis, our Pandit Nehru, whatever his personal shortcomings - ego, suuposed libido, elitism etc. - were, was a person who was good and had the best interests of India in his heart. He was first among equals - Rajaji, Sardar Patel, Babu Rajendra Prasad, S. Radhakrishnan, Maulana Azad from the treasury benches and the opposition leaders. They together put what was then a sorry third world impoverished former colony on a road of prosperity.

What interests of India were served by MP Shashi Tharoor when he was in a key position to further our interests in the arguably most powerful international body? What were his contributions to Indian people during his Minister of State stint during UPA 2? These is not some vapid rhetoric but serious questions which need to be answered before MP Sahshi Tharoor is handed over the role of "The knight in shining armor to the rescue of our fair Bharat mata".
