I doubt I have missed the point as what your statement substantiates what I was trying to say. I completely disagree that people naively lap up aman ki asha stuff after watching a movie and somehow become permanently infected by some cultural virus. Plus activists have been railing against what people consume as popular culture forever. It is a waste of time. You may as well bay at the moon.
Better to try influence - to the extent it is possible - that culture onself, rather than bemoan what one sees as shortcomings.
