Re: The Levant crisis.(Israel,SYRIA,Lebanon,etc)
You never know the french...Charlie Hebdo may publish a cartoon about this incident too just to prove they have weird sense of humor and piss off the affected people who will then go after charlie hebdo and the cycle repeats. The shootings occurred near the former headquarters of Charlie Hebdo, the satirical newspaper where shootings in January traumatized France.
But seriously France is proving to be very vulnerable to these elements. It did send its sole carrier to join fight against ISIS in Syria and made enemies out of sunnis.
Also, it will be interesting to check what their politicians have been saying prior to the earlier charlie hebdo bombing and this one and see if it is related to any alignments that france is getting into.
Wonder if this will affect climate event that is scheduled to happen during month end(?).
Re: The Levant crisis.(Israel,SYRIA,Lebanon,etc)
Pakistan can claim that they are the inventors of this type of attack and may gloat over it. Lot of hostages, AK47s, Suicide bombers, President of France in harm's way briefly. Still they are not terming this 'terrorist attack'.

LIVE REPORT: 100 hostages taken in theater shooting in Paris; at least 600 reportedly dead
French President Francois Hollande says he is closing the country’s borders and declaring a state of emergency after several dozen people were killed in a series of unprecedented terrorist attacks.
Hollande, in a televised address to his nation, said the nation would stand firm and united against the attackers.
He said security forces are assaulting one of the sites hit by Friday’s attacks, without elaborating.
“It’s a horror,” he said.
Re: Terrorism Worldwide
Per fox news the count of dead is 100 just from one location.

Toll nearing 100, and CNN casually mentions Mumbai attack.

from same site above:
01:42 - Death toll hits 140
At least 140 people, including children, were murdered by terrorists in Paris tonight, Friday 13th Nov, says city hall spokesman. 100 were killed at the Bataclan concert hall along, with others killed in at least six other locations around the city.
Re: Terrorism Worldwide
This is all happening because of Intolerance of Europeans. Europeans should Invite all the "Peaceful" Syrians, Afghans, Pakis, somalis and other assorted kind into their countries and vacate their houses and move to Syria or some other place.
The Pakis pimp out the White children in UK, and now the other assorted types will blow up France and Germany.
We had so many bomb blasts over the years. Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, etc etc. Is Mumbai or Hyderabad less special than Paris? We lost so many people.
Why should we support them now, what was the support we got when 26/11 happened?Nothing Zilch. They lectured us on Kashmir and tolerance etc
Even this attacks also wont do anything, Europeans will retrospect, will accept more Refugees, Blame US attacks for these blasts and will probably pay Billions to Africa, Pakis, Syrians and Afghanistan. As long they control the money markets, they will loot us and feed the Jihadis.

Sajid Mir
Sajid Mir
On Nov. 26, 2008, Mir sat among militant chiefs in a Pakistani safe house tracking an attack team as its dinghy approached the Mumbai waterfront. The Lashkar-i-Taiba terrorist group had made Mir the project manager of its biggest strike ever, the crowning achievement of his career as a holy warrior.
A French court even convicted him in absentia in 2007.
Have the French pressed the Pakistanis about Sajid Mir?But Bruguiere, the French judge, said the case showed “that Sajid Mir was a high-ranking officer in the Pakistani Army and apparently also was in the ISI.”
Re: Terrorism Worldwide
At the time of the reported explosions, the German and French soccer teams were playing a match. France's president, François Hollande, was in attendance; the AP reports that he has been evacuated.
After the match, police asked fans to stay in the stadium, where they milled around the field. Here's what that looked like:
According to the BBC's Katya Adler, "French channels [reported] masked men started shooting in all directions around a group of restaurants with outdoor terraces central."

Re: Terrorism Worldwide
It appears many of the 100 were killed before the police stormed indicating perhaps that the terrorists had no intention to negotiate but inflict the maximum casualties giving the police no choice but to storm.
Some attackers are still on the loose.
Belgium is also closing borders. Schengen is straining and may unravel.
Co-ordinated attacks indicates a high level of planning over a period of timeand would have involved many terrorists. MAssive failure by French intelligence.
Prof. Andrew McLeod speaking on ABC says these horrific attacks do no represent God consistent with Abraham as represented by Christaniaty, Judaism and Islam. Interesting statement to make. He wants moderate Islam and moderate Christians to come together to fight terrorism.

Modiji said exactly this in his answer to an inflammatory question during his address to the British Parliament. He said the world will be better off working together against terrorism but unfortunately it still cannot agree upon the very definition of terrorism as the petition for consensus on this at the UN is still pending!Spinster wrote:X posting from Levant thread

As long as the West continues to delude itself and call Paki terrorists Freedom Fighters or Militants, this will continue to happen. The BBC is a classic example.

Julien Pearce, reporter and eyewitness in the concert hall on CNN:
1. Gunmen looked ordinary, no special clothing or heavy vests, he never expected them to be terrorists, having met them before they started shooting.
2. His friends heard them talking in French
3. He and others ran for an exit during a break when the gunmen were busy reloading their AK-47s. He rescued a young girl collapsed near the exit, bleeding, not sure if she survived.
4. The shooting continued for at least 15 minutes, targeting people lying on the floor ' like we were birds'.
5. No cops entered for the first 15 minutes.

More reportingg
1,500 french military personnel deployed in Paris in addition to police.
Hollande promises a "merciless" fight.
Paris metro has stopped running.
Heavily armed security forces ended the hostage siege at the Bataclan concert hall after midnight local time. At least three attackers were killed.
The distance from Stade de France to the Bataclan is about 9 kms.The Cambodian restaurant is on the way.
On TV: This is a very sophistciated attack more along the lines of Mumbai than London.
- - BATACLAN terrorists were heard shouting AoA
- French values of equality, fraternity and liberty possibly does not work universally when there is a big gap in cultural backgrounds. A debate has been going on in France about this.

The radio reporter was at the Bataclan, a theater and concert hall in Paris' 11th district Friday night listening to an American rock band perform, when gunmen stormed the venue.
"People yelled, screamed," Pearce told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Friday on "The Situation Room."
"It lasted for 10 minutes. Ten horrific minutes where everybody was on the floor covering their head," he said.
The hostage situation is over and two of the attackers have been killed, according to Paris Deputy Mayor Patrick Klugman and the French police union.
At least 112 people were killed in the attack at Bataclan, the French interior ministry said.
Other French officials said another 37 people were killed at the other attacks across Paris and in Saint-Denis, bringing the death toll to at least 149.
After police entered the Bataclan, detonations and gunfire could be heard from outside the concert hall, according to a CNN producer at the scene.
Authorities were able to bring out at least 100 hostages, some of whom appeared to be wounded.
On the Facebook page of the band, Eagles Of Death Metal, a post said it's unclear where the band and crew are and how they're doing.
The theater has a capacity of 1,500, Cyril Vanier, a reporter with France 24, told CNN.
'A random guy holding a Kalashnikov'
Pearce saw two people he called terrorists enter the theater, "very calm, very determined" and firing "randomly."
They wore black clothing but no masks. He saw the face of one shooter, who was very young -- a maximum of 25 years old.
"He was like a random guy holding a Kalashnikov. That's all."
Pearce said the gunmen managed to reload their weapons three or four times.
"They didn't shout anything," he said. "They were shooting people on the floor."
He said he was near the top of the stage during the incident.
While the gunmen were reloading, Pearce managed to find an exit. He climbed on top of the stage and went for it.
He made it to the street, where 20-25 people lay splayed across the road -- many dead or injured very badly.
Pearce said he ran 200 meters with an injured teenage girl to catch a taxi, and told the cabbie to get her to the hospital.
CNN's Michael Martinez and Pierre Buet contributed to this report.
Obama calls Paris attacks 'outrageous', promises to send many more TOW missiles and M-1A1 tanks to (reward) the ISIS
