IMO type 45 procurement was colossal failure if this happened in India the media would have had field day. Our warships equipped with UKR/Ru and GE engines appear to be doing much better.
As for issue at hand WM 21 gas turbines are currently fitted on no other vessel other than Type 45s making the maintenance very expensive and they are bound to run into more surprises like this during its life cycle since there are no other operators. Without even including this latest hit, Type 45 already cost twice as much as Kolkata's when they were procured.
