what is the difference, as far as JNU is concerned, between DSU and All India Students Federation? Are they really different or its just for the convenience (like 'but the DSU did it and AISF has nothing to do with it')? Do they work in tandem at some issues?
Also, what were the activities of AISF/Kanhaiya in the past couple of years in general?
Technically, yes that would be correct. But ideology doesnt play a big role. Communists win because they have built up a formidable system of brainwashing people on caste, community and gender lines. The system is very efficient.AISA and DSU are Naxal outfits while AISF/SFI are CPI/CPIM. Over the last few years JNUSU has shifted towards the Naxals from the regular Communists. Intelligence agencies may have been keeping a watch and decided to act now.
AISF/SFI/AISA or DSU have some difference in ideology. The students dont care about this. They vote only to defeat ABVP. So when ABVP had gotten strong, all the left voters en masse voted for SFI. AISA then got 200 votes only.
If DSU were to get strong and looks likely to defeat ABVP, all voters will migrate there. No logic explains why muslims would vote for radical communists. Does it?! Noone really cares about Marx,Lenin or anyone else.
So AISF/SFI/AISA/DSU cater to the same vote bank. If DSU organises this really stupid event, then it will take all the credit + votes of all muslims. So all other left organisations go and support DSU. Kanhaiya Kumar included. When DSU is in line of fire, they say we arent part of it. When action is taken against them, then the same people again go and pressurise administration to go easy on them. All in all, they are all the same when it comes to india and indian state. Otherwise they may ve some idiotic differences between them.

AISF is a small organisation. But the more radical you are the better. The more you can fan communal and caste hatred, the better. Kanhaiya Kumar is no different. These are the forever chutiya types.

These are two anti India statements by various organisations and individuals.
AISA and DSU are signatories to both.
AISA had won all the 4 seats in JNUSU elections last year. This year they have two out of four.
DSU is the organisation that oganised february 9 programme. Now everyone is trying to declare it a fringe group with only 10-15 members. While the rest of JNU of course is nationalist.

When the left decided to celebrate the murder of 75 police personnel, NSUI joined ABVP.
NSUI is a truly fringe party here. All its members are fellows who want to join congress and get a political career later. Like Ashok Tanwar. Joining NSUI has other advantages. Congress leadership will help you get a lecturer job somewhere after you do your PhD. Even the commis, including the extreme `left`, goes on and joins congress once done here, for the same reason.
NSUI also tries to get the same muslim votes that other leftists are looking for. So, obviously, they cant be too nationalistic. Or different from left.

The Delhi Police has asked the Foreigner's Regional Registration Office or FRRO to alert airport authorities to look out for three JNU students named Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhatacharya, Aswathi.
It issued lookout notices for the three. These notices are issued to detain people wanted by the police who are travelling.

IMHO The IB guys are sleeping on the job.
First the Patel agitation in Gujarat , then the Kapu agitation in AP , Jats in Haryana , the JNU jokers.
All this should be nipped by IB at the planning stage and the planners dealt with silently.
Would like to imagine that this is Doval's grand strategy , where all players are allowed to show their hand , before being dealt with.
MAD should have in some corner a Red Team who figures out what fault lines can be exploited (war game) and a Blue Team to work out a counter strategy and preventive action . Right now everything looks like a reactionary approach , after the crisis has happened.
This could be a BRF project as well with some learned Maulana's collaborating under a Burkha , with the results being shared with the right people.

it's not IB's job to 'nip' things or to 'deal' with planners. its job is information and I am pretty sure prior info about all of the above must have been sent to the govt. what they did with that info is not IB's headache.

"In-depth planning. IUML leadership issued circular to ensure max vacancies in new Kannur Airport is availed by IUML members"
A bit worrying in that it replicates hezbollah style infiltration of lebanon airport administration. And only recently was the cochin gold smuggling racket broken up, along with the death of 1 CRPF personnel.

Re: Internal Security Watch
It seems 6 security personnel have been killed in J&K. 3-5 terrorists are holed up in a building. Why don't they just blow up the buildings instead of pushing people into a firefight?
Re: Internal Security Watch
What's new? These things will continue to happen unless we formulate a comprehensive national strategy and reform our intelligence/internal security apparatus.
Re: Internal Security Watch
the buildings are very big as its state govt entrepreneurship development complex. it has well stocked canteen for food. four pigs are inside. some part of the complex is on fire.
2 captains of 10 para cdo and 1 lance naik of a unknown unit are dead.
the 1st captain was shot dead on trying to enter the complex. the 2nd during a search operation on the 3rd floor.
this is one case (room by room clearing in a large building) where having NSG take the lead with heavy ballistic protection would have been more appropriate.

Re: Internal Security Watch
^ Do we use bullet proof shields while trying to flush the pigs to their hellholes?
If rpgs or grenades or claymores can nullify the shields what are the alternatives to reach a barricaded group of pigs?
note the thickness of the shield.

Re: Internal Security Watch
the only other alternative is to use BMPs and MBT cannons which can deliver very precise fire from close range. but the building will need to be razed as structurally too much damage will be done. hard decision for a large govt building housing many valuable records.

Re: Internal Security Watch
Why can't the government use robots or remotely controlled miniature vehicles for smoking these pigs out? If the building has a/c vents, perhaps even some kind of gas can flush out terrorists or put them to sleep. Why throw soldiers into the building like fodder? This is blatant disregard for the lives of these young men. The Government & Army brass seems to see this kind of loss of life as normal - as long as enough manpower exists in India, let us throw our men to the dogs, as we will get more recruits. Pathetic. Such loss of precious lives must be prevented even at 10x the cost.
Re: Internal Security Watch
If there is no hostage situation, better to use chemical weapons (somewhat more potent than tear gas). If the potent gases kills them instead of knocking them, so be it.

might as well bring in a couple of tanks and pound the place down.
Re: Internal Security Watch
It seems the building was gutted in any case. So why rush in and take bullets. Unless there was a hostage situation what was the need to push soldiers to face bullets. If there is a hostage situation why not try to resolve it and then do the needful with soldiers moving in as the last option.

Re: Internal Security Watch
The building is already gone. Why did the Army waste 3 lives? Did they want to save the building? What is the effing point of saving a building by throwing away our men?
I am poor in knowledge about weapons but if there were documents, then maybe they could have used a high calibre heavy machine guns that would have penetrated 2-3 walls. That would keep the building intact and documents would have been saved while it would have cut down the Pakis in pieces.

Such a high casualty rate among highly trained SF Paras should raise many questions - a "deep dive on their SOP's" would be undertaken at this point.

Re: Internal Security Watch
Now, govt cyber cell to counter ‘negative’ news
Every time a negative narrative surfaces, a possible counter would be initiated — through press releases, briefings or press conferences, depending on the intensity or standing of the post,” said sources.
The software will generate relevant tags to highlight “belligerent” comments or social media chats, they added.
At a deeper level, the software would comb posts and comments to classify them into negative, neutral and positive categories while highlighting relevant text, sources said. It will also show up if the negative posting was factually correct or “an intentional canard”, they said.
“The software would also help recall the past pattern of the writer to check the number of times he took a negative or positive stand, his background, and preferences of websites and areas of interest to judge whether they were aimed at fomenting trouble or radicalisation,” said sources.
They said the objective is to come up with “instant counters” on social media to plug resentment triggered by news items so that personal opinions do not snowball into public protests and threaten law and order.

Re: Internal Security Watch
The more we get to know these people it is evident that the movers and shakers of the evil are connected (which we knew for a long time) and probably quite a few in number. There must be about a few hundreds of these top elites, who control the next thousands of influential people, who need the gullible for grass root supports. The few hundred pull the funds, are the celebrities that attract domestic and foreign attention. They spread their ideologies through the next thousands.
Break those hundred, rest will come crumbling down. In cases like these top-down approach is what works. Once the nexus starts cracking, they will start singing against each other. All we need is a few cracks here and there. I think it will be easier than what we can imagine.
