Trump says US troops needed in Afghanistan to protect Pak N-arms
http://www.dawn.com/news/1243642/trump- ... pak-n-arms
WASHINGTON: If elected to the White House, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump would keep US troops in Afghanistan to ‘protect’ Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.“I think you have to stay in Afghanistan for a while, because of the fact that you are right next to Pakistan, which has nuclear weapons and we have to protect that,” said Mr Trump while responding to a question during Thursday night’s Republican presidential debate.“Nuclear weapons change the game,” said the billionaire campaigner while explaining why Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal necessitated continued US military presence in Afghanistan.Last year, Mr Trump suggested involving India in efforts to denuclearise Pakistan. “You have to get India involved. India’s the check to Pakistan,” he said in a radio address in September.“They (India) have their own nukes and have a very powerful army. They seem to be the real check... I think we have to deal very closely with India to deal with it (Pakistan),” he added.
Mr Trump’s suggestion to keep US troops in Afghanistan was one of the few serious references to foreign policy issues at the presidential debate.
Most US media outlets described the debate in Detroit, Michigan, as a two-hour long shouting match with no substance.“But they’re illegal,” Mr Baier reminded him. “Let me just tell you, look at the Middle East. They’re chopping off heads,” Mr Trump said.“I said it’s fine! And if we want to go stronger, I’d go stronger, too,” said Mr Trump, while defending his earlier statement that he would allow waterboarding to coerce information from suspected terrorists. The remarks earned him a wild applause from the audience.“What would these animals over in the Middle East, that chopped off heads think of a hesitation to commit war crimes?” Mr Trump asked.“We should go for waterboarding and we should go tougher than waterboarding.”

Mohammadden religion does not prohibit marriage to 9 year old female children. Indeed given that Mohammaddenism calls on adherents of the religion to follow example of founder Mohammad, marrying 9 year old female children would be considered by Mohammaddens as desirable. Recollect that Religion founder Mohammad consummated his marriage with a 9 year old female child by name of Aisha. See University of Southern California’s Center for Muslim Jewish Engagement which has a translation of Hadith of Shahi Bukhari, a hadith collection rated very high by Mohammaddens for authenticity:
Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64:

Narrated 'Aisha:

that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Clicky
So how is it halal for “State Actors” of the world’s first “Ideological Muslim State”, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, to prevent Mohammadden Religion compliant marriage of a 9 year old ?

Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), formerly Organization of Islamic Conference must take notice of this Un-Mohammadden action of one of their members and take them to task:

On NBC News
Pakistan's Sartaj Aziz Admits Taliban Leaders Are Living There
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Pakistan's top diplomat has admitted what the country has long denied: that it supports some members of the Afghan Taliban and gives them shelter.

Sartaj Aziz, Pakistan's Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, told an audience at the Council for Foreign Relations Tuesday that Pakistan had "some influence" in convincing the militant insurgent group to the negotiating table "because their leadership is in Pakistan."
Of course, this being Pakistan, there's the backpedaling soon after.
A spokesman for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded Thursday to Aziz' admission, saying: "You need to see things in their correct perspective. I will not comment on the adviser's statement."

Pakistan leader accused of being an ‘Indian agent’
The leader of Karachi’s dominant political party has been accused by a respected former Mayor of being an Indian agent and a dictatorial drunkard who has mismanaged the affairs of Pakistan’s biggest city from his base in north London.

In a blistering attack, Mustafa Kamal also accused Altaf Hussain, head of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), of overseeing an organisation that has turned some activists into “international terrorists”. Mr. Kamal’s comments have the potential to upturn the political order in one of the world’s largest and most volatile cities. Rumours have persistently swirled around Mr. Hussain, but senior members of his party have always scrupulously avoided even veiled criticism of their leader. Their code of silence has allowed Mr. Hussain to maintain firm control despite living in self-imposed exile in the U.K. for more than 20 years.

But on Thursday, Mr. Kamal, a popular figure, broke ranks by flying into the country after a three-year absence to announce that he was forming a new party. He alleged that Mr. Hussain confessed to Scotland Yard detectives, who were investigating the 2010 murder of MQM official Imran Farooq in London, that the party’s leadership had received support from Indian intelligence agency the Research and Analysis Wing (Raw). “All senior MQM leaders are aware that MQM has been taking funds from India’s RAW for 20 years,” Mr. Kamal said.

The MQM denounced the claims. Farooq Sattar, a senior MQM figure, insisted the party would stand by its leader.

A party official told The Guardian that Mr. Hussain was aware of the claims but would not be responding to them personally. The official added: “It is all totally false and fabricated and it is not the first time, we have seen this since 1992. It is part of the establishment conspiracy in Pakistan.” — © Guardian Newspapers Limited, 2016

Paki Gets Himself Thrown Out Of Trump Rally
This sherwani-clad guy shows you how to get kicked out of a Trump rally in style
Yesterday Saqib Javed showed the world how to call Donald Trump out for racism and get kicked out of a rally in style.
In a video on AJ+ and on Saqib's Facebook page, the young student, attending a Trump rally in Warren, Michigan, is shown screaming at Trump: "Not all Muslims are terrorists! Not all Mexicans are rapists!"
Pakiness has to be shown - in Michigan or in Multan !
Following this, Trump is heard yelling, "get him out of here!"Using his phone, Saqib recorded himself being escorted from the rally... but not before he nonchalantly flicks back a lock of full, shiny hair. To top it all off, Saqib chose to stage his protest wearing an embroidered sherwani.
Speaking to a reporter after the rally, Saqib said: "Donald Trump, this is not the last time you'll see me... you'll see this face again."
And Donald Trump's take on all this? He allegedly said Saqib looked like an 'Elvis impersonator.'

Senator Paul Rand (R) to force Senate vote against Pakistan arms sale
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) plans to force senators to vote on the State Department’s approval of $700 million worth of fighter jets to Pakistan using an obscure Senate rule that hasn’t been invoked in decades.
The Obama administration cleared the sale of eight F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan last month. But Paul is invoking the obscure Arms Export Control Act of 1976 in a bid to shoot down the sale with a resolution of disapproval.
IMO, no matter what, sadly, the sale will ultimately go through!
Over the last few years we have seen that Pakistan is an uncertain ally when it comes to cooperating with the United States,” Paul said in a statement. “As I travel in Kentucky, I meet countless individuals who are struggling to survive in this economy, we have no business sending hundreds of millions of dollars overseas."
The last time the Senate voted on such a resolution, according to Paul’s aides, was in 1986, when then-Sen. Alan Cranston (D-Calif.) forced a roll call on banning sales of certain missiles and defense services to Saudi Arabia.
One senior Republican said it was likely that Paul would get such a vote on the floor sometime before the next recess, which begins the week of March 21, in between other Senate business.
n the House, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) has introduced a companion resolution disapproving of the arms sale.

There is Uber in Pakistan! What is so Uber about $hit!

https://www.rt.com/news/334643-uber-pak ... x-drivers/
The Uber taxi app is now teaching its drivers in Pakistan a very important lesson: how to avoid sexually harassing female passengers.
“It seems it is not part of the conversation in basic education,” and “there is lack of knowledge on what constitutes sexual harassment,” spokeswoman for Uber in Pakistan, Shaden Abdellatif said, as quoted by AFP.

The seminar Uber drivers took lasted just 30 minutes. It will be repeated for new drivers when they join the service.

Abdellatif added that Uber is trying to provide “a safer space in public transport for women through educating the drivers, even on a very basic level.”

Apart from strict instructions not to harass passengers, trainees were told not to contact women after dropping them off. It was also specified that passing their passengers’ phone numbers on to others is forbidden.

“Our primary objective is that drivers understand that sexual harassment is not just about assaulting or harming someone. Making someone uncomfortable is harassment, whatever your intention is,” Tooba Fatima said, representing the Pakistan-based social enterprise RABTT, which designed the seminar.

“People here tend to stare, make comments on the way one is dressed, ask questions about who you are going to see or why. And it is the woman who ends up being told: ‘You should not be out so late’, ‘Why would you go here or there.’”

Seventy-five percent of Pakistani women are unemployed. This is primarily because of the lack of safe transportation, a study by the International Labour Organization has discovered.

Pakistani authorities have been trying to do something about it. They introduced “The Pink Rickshaw” in Lahore, which lets working-class women buy a vehicle to transport other females.

Also, an awareness campaign has been launched in the Punjab: “Women on Wheels” is designed to attract attention to the problems of sex harassment and violence.

US issues formal notification for sale of F 16 jets to Pakistan
WASHINGTON: The US government has issued a formal notification for the sale of eight amidst stiff opposition from India and top American lawmakers, the US government has formally published federal notification for the sale of eight F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan."This proposed sale contributes to US foreign policy objectives and national security goals by helping to improve the security of a strategic partner in South Asia," said the notification which was published by the federal register yesterday, along with a copy of the February 11 letter, which the Defense Security Cooperation Agency wrote to the House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan. The total cost of these F-16 is estimated to be nearly USD 700 million, said the federal notification. It added that the Government of Pakistan had requested for this sale.India has opposed the sale of F-16 to Pakistan, saying it disagree with Washington's rationale that such arms transfers help to combat terrorism.Republican Senator Rand Paul has asked colleagues in the Senate to join him in opposing the sale of F-16s to Pakistan.Pakistan Prime Minister's Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz told Defence Writers Group this week that Pakistan had initially requested for 18 F-16s, but because of "financing problem" it is purchasing just eight."Right now the specialized need is the counter-terrorism operation, for which we are heavily dependent of F-16."According to notification published in the federal register, the proposed sale improves Pakistan's capability to meet current and future security threats."This sale will increase the number of aircraft available to the Pakistan Air Force to sustain operations, meet monthly training requirements, and support transition training for pilots new to the Block-52. Pakistan will have no difficulty absorbing these additional aircraft
into its air force," the federal register said.

'Afghan Taliban will not join peace talks'
But then what about "assurances" given to Massa that they have enough clout with the talibunnies to bring them to the negotiating table ; will the USA now ask back the Moolah earlier given to them on this pretext
And on top of that the following :
Afghan officials had also shared with Pakistan a list of Taliban leaders who they (these may not be under Paki influence  ) wanted to attend direct talks with.

4th grader allegedly impregnated by teacher in Larkana
SUKKUR:
A fourth-grader has been repeatedly raped by her teacher in the Nauabad village, Larkana district, until she became pregnant, alleges her family which is now under pressure from local elite for withdrawing the case.
The family of M Kalhoro, a farmer in the riverine area of the Indus River, was devastated when they discovered that their 13-year-old daughter *R was pregnant after being repeatedly raped by her teacher. Kalhoro filed a case with the Hatri Ghulam Shah police and the teacher was arrested.
The district and sessions court on Wednesday granted seven-day physical remand of the teacher who, according to SHO Muhammad Urs Noonari, has confessed to his crime in the court.
*R was a student of Class-IV in the Government Primary School. A few days ago, she started vomiting and stopped eating. When mother asked her, she disclosed that her teacher, Muzafar Mirani, raped her for more than three months.
Kalhoro went to the police station and lodged an FIR against the schoolteacher.
The police also gave Kalhoro a letter for medical examination of his daughter, and a lady doctor confirmed that the girl was three-month pregnant. Subsequently, the police arrested the teacher.
Mother jailed for advertising online to rape six-year-old daughter
Meanwhile, sources said Kalhoro tried to meet the Sindh home minister and the provincial police chief, but DSP Yar Muhammad Rind did not allow him. (*Name has been with held to protect identity of victim)
There is no "magic solution" to this epidemic problem in Pakiland ; unless the power of the Mullahs is broken, nothing is likely to happen

Love-For-Altaf-Marked-At-18-Spots
KARACHI:
A day after former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal’s no-holds-barred conference against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, party leaders and supporters took to the streets in his defence.
Their love and support for ‘Altaf Bhai’ was marked at 18 different locations in the city, such as Orangi Town, North Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Landhi.
The protesters included men, women and children, stood on the side of the main roads so as to let vehicles pass by. They held placards saying ‘Altaf humara leader [Altaf is our leader]‘, ‘Sirf Altaf [Only Altaf]‘ and shouted slogans, such as ‘Rehbar rehbar, Altaf humara rehbar [Leader, leader, Altaf is our leader]‘.
It will be difficult to replace a charismatic leader like Altaf
Speaking to the media at the Hassan Square protest, mayor-nominee Wasim Akhtar spoke about Kamal’s charged-up press conference. The studio seemed new but the script was old, he said, adding that the laboratory was old but the test tube was new. “We have been facing these types of allegations and conspiracies for many years but this won’t defeat the struggle of Altaf Hussain or the MQM,” he said.
The "experiment" by the "Deep State" to create a fissure in the MQM by hook or by crook is likely to fail !
Another female protester called the press conference a pre-planned propaganda that no one will believe. “We don’t know Mustafa Kamal, we only know Altaf.”

Pak. T20 team to arrive only on all-clear from Islamabad - Kallol Bhattacharjee, The Hindu
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Saturday that the Pakistani Cricket team would not take part in the March 19 Dharamshala League match of the ICC T20 World Cup series till “security clearance” was granted by his government.
Absolutely. Once that is received, it would mean that the threat of jihadi attack had gone away because only Islamabad can give such an 'assurance'.

It may take even take more than a "30 minute seminar" to undo the damage done on the Paki male psyche towards their perception of women and their role in life; gimmicks such as the recently passed "Women Protection Act", are just that -gimmicks; it takes generations to change the value and beliefs in a society; and don't forget the elephant in the room- Malsi !

Finally the Terrorist State of Pakistan has accepted and reiterated its "TERRORIST" Status

Security alert in Indian Gujarat after Pak shares intelligence info

KARACHI: Indian state of Gujarat is on high alert after Pakistan reportedly informed New Delhi of possible infiltration of terrorists, Geo News reported on Sunday.

Geo News correspondent from Islamabad said security agencies have been placed on high alert after Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Lt Gen (retd) Nasir Khan Janjua talked to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.

He said as many as 10 terrorists belonging to Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba have entered Gujarat.

Indian media said the state government received information from central government on Saturday that terroists have entered Gujarat.

Security forces were conducting raids in different areas of Gujarat while security was tightened at sensitive installations and worship places.

The leave of all police personnel has been cancelled and the state government has increased security at all the main temples of the state for 'Maha Shivaratri' festival tomorrow.

Besides the heavy deployment of police and paramilitary troops security of all the Air Force and Army bases has also been beefed up.

The family was on its way home after picking one of its members who had returned after performing umrah.
Police said the family did not register an FIR and took the body home. A senior police official said both parties agreed to a settlement and did not press the charges.

Sharia implemented; case closed!!!
But Pushtunwali code (revenge) not yet implemented; case therefore not closed; one more potential TTP member?

Ten terrorists have infiltrated into India to carry out attack, Pakistani NSA tells Indian counterpart
SLAMABAD (News Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s special advisor on national security Lt-General (retd.) Nasir Khan Janjua has informed Indian National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval that around ten terrorists have infiltrated into India to carry out an attack.
“Janjua has told Doval that ten militants associated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) -the groups blamed for Pathankot and Mumbai attacks respectively- near Gujrat state,” the Times of India reported on Sunday.
The way that this is being reported by the Paki media, gives a (wrong) impression that the two NSA have now become buddy-buddy and have become "fast friends" ; in this case, words speak louder than action (which is sorely lacking on the Paki part!)

My first impression on this 'intelligence sharing' from Pakistan is that this is false alarm just to appear that Pakistan is collaborating in counter-terrorism, is taking action against India-centric terrorists also, then demand that India should not delay talks, and if India doesn't budge, then try to put pressure on India through the US.

India our greatest ally, says Karzai, slams Pak For ‘creepily invading’ Afghanistan
KANPUR: Former Afghan president Hamid Karzai on Thursday called India the greatest ally of Afghanistan and squarely blamed Pakistan for "creepily invading" his country for "spreading radicalism and damaging it".
"While we got liberation from Soviet Union in 1989-90, creeping invasion from our neighbour Pakistan took place. They damaged our society, education and culture. We were destroyed completely. It was only when the 9/11 took place in the US that the world, especially the western countries, understood what we were facing for years. A change came overnight and India helped us to overcome these odds," he said while addressing students at the open air theatre at IIT-Kanpur.
"Afghanistan was liberated and was introduced to democratic model of governance by India. People from all walks of life came back to the country -- be it Afghans, Hindus or Sikhs. India gave us $2.5 billion in assistance. India has given us a lot and we have come very close in the past 14 years. The bond has strengthened with time. India is our greatest ally," said the former Afghan president. (this view is not only echoed by Karzai, but all sections of Afghan society; on the other hand, all Afghans take a dim view of Pakistan  )[ He also mentioned that India has given thousands of scholarships to Afghan students and in the past 14 years, more than 60,000 Afghan students have graduated from India and joined services in various walks of life.
He said that India has given Afghanistan a Parliament building, dams and transmission lines for electricity. He praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said he is a great orator and has a strong personality.
The thundering applause he got from the students could perhaps only be matched by Narendra Modi. While entering and exiting the venue, he got a standing ovation from the students and teachers alike. Enthused by the response, Karzai freely mingled with the students who jostled for a handshake with him
He said that radicalisation is a political tool used by Pakistan and the US in their own interest, but now they are bearing the disastrous consequences of it.
Karzai had the grace not to mention, that his late father, as head of the Popalzai clan , was a successful target of a ISI hit job in Quetta; And he himself has been on the receiving end of many Paki machinations, just because he is pro Afghan !

SSridhar Ji :

I think that this is a false statement to divert the actual intent of the 10 - may be more - members of the Pakistani Jehadi Terrorists Team. Thus I would say that the there is a Team of Pakistani Terrorists who have infiltrated into India BUT their Target is not Gujarat. As such I would rather say that there is a Team of Pakistani Terrorists BUT their target is in another Part of India - most probably Punjab or Haryana or Delhi. Let us keep our fingers crossed. I cannot rule out Maharashtra or even West Bengal.

ISLAMABAD: Amid concern over high cost of unconventional borrowings, Pakistan is planning to raise another $3.5 billion from international debt markets by floating Eurobonds over a period of three years to retire earlier loans.A new medium-term debt management strategy that the Ministry of Finance unveiled this week gives a plan for floating dollar-denominated Eurobonds up to fiscal year 2018-19.Since coming to power, the PML-N government has raised $3.5 billion by issuing bonds in international debt markets including $1 billion through the Sukuk (Islamic bonds). In September last year, it raised $500 million through Eurobonds at a very high interest rate of 8.25%.A recent report of Moody’s Investor Services, an international credit rating agency, said Pakistan’s debt affordability had weakened after it shifted to unconventional loans by floating $3.5 billion worth of international bonds. This increased the country’s borrowing cost, it said.
The 2019 bonds will be issued to retire the same amount of debt that the government contracted after coming to power. Furthermore, $500 million ten-year Eurobonds issued in 2006 are maturing this month. Next year, Eurobonds valuing $750 million, which the Musharraf government floated in 2007 at an interest rate of 6.75%, are coming due for payments. The new debt strategy largely focuses on diversification of financing and lengthening the maturity of debt profile. However, it has completely ignored implications of the off-budget fiscal risk for the country’s debt projections. In coming years, huge sums of external inflows would be off the budget as part of the government’s strategy to show the external public debt at lower levels.A recent report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has given broader pillars for strengthening the debt and public finance management to reduce fiscal risks.“The government has projected that the economy will grow at a pace of 6.5% in 2016-17 while the IMF puts the expansion at 4.7%.Similarly, for 2017-18 the government expects a 7% growth against IMF’s estimate of only 5%. These projections have implications for the country’s debt sustainability.

Another Delay Tactic ? - Pakistan summons Indian witnesses in Mumbai attack to appear before ATC
Pakistan has asked the Indian government to send all 24 witnesses of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack to Islamabad, to appear before the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the federal capital.
“The Foreign Office has written to the Indian government asking it to send all 24 witnesses to Pakistan for recording statements in the trial court in the Mumbai attack case,” India’s news wire service, Press Trust of India (PTI), quoted chief prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar as saying on Sunday.
The prosecution chief said the ATC has already completed recording the statements of all Pakistani witnesses in the case.
“Now the ball is in India’s court. The Indian government should send all Indian witnesses of the Mumbai case to Pakistan to record their statements so that the trial could further move ahead,” Azhar, who is also a special prosecutor of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), said.
Earlier, law enforcement agencies had detained commander of the proscribed militant group Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi for 30 days under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order by the Punjab government immediately after the ATC granted him bail on December 10, 2014. The detention was subsequently extended twice.
However, a Lahore High Court (LHC) bench declared his continued detention under MPO illegal last year and ordered his release, subject to a Rs2 million surety bond. Lakhvi submitted the bond in April, 2015 and was set free from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.(However, Big Fish like Lakhvi and Hafiz Suar are enjoying "outside life")
Six other accused are lodged in the Adiala Jail for over six years in connection with planning and executing the Mumbai attack( While underlings /small fries are pretenced to be ultimately responsible and thrown in jail )

Son Defends Father Against Corruption Charges
Nawaz’s son owns London apartment, offshore companies
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz on Saturday called for conducting an accountability process in Punjab as well.
Speaking to the host of Express News show Kal Tak, Javed Chaudhry, Hussain said his father, Premier Nawaz, had never interfered in the accountability process.
PM seeks details of ruling party leaders’ assets
“If [Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief] Imran Khan proves that we have defaulted on any loan, the Sharif family will face punishment as stipulated under the law,”Hussain said. “Imran Khan only talks about default, but he should have some reference, like the name of the banks the Sharif family has allegedly defaulted against,” he added.
Regarding allegations that Prime Minister Nawaz had curbed the powers of accountability institutions, Hussain said no such direction had been issued from the Prime Minister’s House to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) or any other investigation agency. “If there are any issues in Punjab which need to be investigated, then there should be no bar on that,” he said.
Hussain accepted that he owns the flats on Park Lane, London which belong to offshore companies Nesco Ltd and Nelson Ltd, saying that he only enjoys the benefits of these assets. He said these assets are run by a trust held by his sister Maryam Nawaz.
[It is all in the (one Big) Family ]
Assets disclosure: ECP reminds political parties to file statements
Hussain called on accountability bodies to try former president Pervez Musharraf, “otherwise every ruler will do as he pleases and leave.”
He said he forgave Musharraf for what he did to him. Musharraf is accused of persecuting the Sharif family after overthrowing the PML-N government in 1999.

HEC in disarray: 110 MPhil, PhD scholars reluctant to come back
ISLAMABAD: Over 110 scholars who have gone abroad for MPhil and PhD studies under the Higher Education Commission (HEC) scholarships have not returned home after expiry of their scheduled term.
“The HEC had sent the students abroad for higher education in different universities on a condition that they will return after completing studies. Some of the scholars who have not returned include Waqar Hussain Shah, Zia Ullah, Shahbaz Shabbir, Sarwat and others,” sources in the HEC said.
The sources further said that about 180 MPhil and PhD students have failed to complete their degrees in various foreign universities. The sources said that the HEC was mulling over sending notices to the scholars who have not returned before taking legal action against them. (some of them have obviously gone "underground" to avoid the "immigration police"; others may have found "employment" with ISIS )
The sources claimed that the HEC has started legal proceedings action against 37 scholars who have not returned from abroad after completion of their degrees.[quote]
Is it possible that MPhil and PhD "scholars" sent to Saudi for "Islamic Studies" may have voluntary "converted" to the Wahabi version and and found lucrative jobs in Salafist universities there
As for those in Western universities, they may have concluded that life in Darul- Harb, when everything is taken into consideration, is still better than life in Dar-ul- Islam AKA Pakiland
In the light of the above, hope the Paki authorities reverse their recent decision to send their "brightest and smartest" to US for Doctorate Studies !

With intelligence sharing, India-Pakistan ties acquiring new layers - Indrani Bagchi, ToI
With reports that Pakistan's security authorities "shared" advance intelligence with India on terrorists possibly entering the country to carry out attacks, the India-Pakistan bilateral relationship is acquiring new layers and facets, since this would be a rare occurrence. If another terror attack from Pakistan is even remotely successful in the coming days, the two countries could be entering tough territory and the Modi regime would be under greater domestic pressure.

When NSA Ajit Doval and foreign secretary S Jaishankar met their Pakistani counterparts Nasir Khan Janjua and Aizaz Ahmed in Bangkok on December 6, the two countries started a conversation on security/terrorism issues that was supposed to run parallel to the official MEA-led dialogue. It was supposed to revive the Ufa understanding that went up in smoke last year. PM Modi's unannounced visit to Lahore on Nawaz Sharif's birthday appeared to set the stage for a new chapter where Modi would be in control of the narrative.

Pathankot put paid to such expectations. There was no longer any effort to delink terror from talks.

But the two NSAs have continued to communicate with each other. While Doval (or anyone in the Indian establishment) refused to speak on the subject, Pakistani authorities, particularly Sharif 's foreign policy adviser Sartaj Aziz, went on record to say they had received "leads" from India, traced the phone numbers given by India to the JeM headquarters in Bahawalpur and placed terror chief Masood Azhar in detention.

Aziz even announced last week that Pakistan's investigation team probing the Pathankot attack would arrive in India in a few days. The MEA has maintained it is yet to get details of the composition of the delegation. For Pakistan too, the visit of the SIT will be important because in exchange for access to Pathankot, Pakistani officials have to give a credible account of the actions they have taken against perpetrators of the attack, because the FIR filed does not mention any names.

David Headley's testimony has resurrected the 26/11 case, which has virtually run aground in Pakistan. It has turned the spotlight on the Modi government which has been accused of "forgetting" Mumbai to focus on Pathankot. On Sunday, Pakistan confirmed having called 24 people from India to testify in its courts, with the chief prosecutor in the case saying its foreign ministry had written to the Indian government in this regard, and no one is sure how this is going to play out.

But in India's political system, Modi's handling of Pakistan has come under greater criticism. The opposition has taken potshots at Modi regarding Pakistan, alleging unseemly haste in visiting Lahore.

Peregrine wrote:I think that this is a false statement to divert the actual intent of the 10 - may be more - members of the Pakistani Jehadi Terrorists Team.
Peregrine ji, quite agree with you as a likely scenario, because with Pakistan anything and everything is possible. The target could be as far down south as Karnataka or TN too. But, still, I feel that Pakistan is pretending. Let's wait. I do hope that either there is no terror attack at all or we stop it in any case.

Would be great if this hunch somehow turns out to be true.

Gurus apologies if this seems a wild guess. My first post.

Have been lurking for so many years and awed by the clarity people posting here have.

Paki Islamist Arrested On Suspicion of £1m E-Bay Scam
A man who claimed to be an al-Qaida insider but then said he had made it up has been arrested on suspicion of perpetrating a £1m-plus fraud on eBay to fund terrorism.
Hassan Butt, 35, is accused of conning thousands of customers by taking orders for iPhones, iPads and games consoles on the online auction site and then failing to deliver them.
Butt, a former spokesman for the extremist group al-Muhajiroun, claimed to have helped send scores of Britons to terrorist training camps overseas, including Mohammad Sidique Khan, the ringleader (another Paki !) of the 7 July 2005 attacks on London.
Hundreds of customers complained they had not received goods they had paid for, and attempts to contact the company had proved futile. The company’s eBay account was eventually shut down and police were contacted.
Another man, believed to be Butt’s business partner, was also arrested on the same day in nearby Bury, Lancashire. Both men were bailed last week.
The Mail on Sunday said Butt’s brother, Omer, 39, claimed that the arrest and raid was part of a police plot to persecute his family.

Britain’s first Pakistani-born, Muslim Lord mayor arrested.

Britain’s first female Muslim Lord Mayor has been arrested in connection with allegations of perverting the course of justice and misconduct in a public office.

Naveeda Ikram, a 42-year-old Pakistani born, assumed her role in 2011 but was suspended by her party amid allegations of “financial irregularities” last year.

Britain’s first Pakistani-born, Muslim Lord mayor under investigation for ‘financial irregularities’

The former Lord Mayor of Bradford was arrested and questioned by officers in Halifax, West Yorkshire last week where she denied the allegations. She later emphasised that she has not been charged with anything.

“This is a very difficult time for myself, my family, friends and children,” the mother-of three said.

“To avoid any prejudice or bias, it would be best to avoid speculation on social media, Twitter and Facebook,” she said, adding, “I will be hopefully exonerated… No, not hopefully – I will be exonerated.”

Ikram, who was elected to Bradford Council in 2004, said she had been pressing the police to conclude their probe. ”The past four months I have been asking the police to expedite the matter and carry out the investigation as soon as possible. That is what they are doing.”

She added, ”I want to continued as a committed councillor and to continue with my work.” :rotfl:

Earlier, it was revealed hat Ikram was being probed by the police over allegations of ‘financial irregularities’ it was revealed today. The party moved to suspend her until the investigation concluded.
