Aatish Taseer might have meant that in a different context, the anger at the death of his father. But, as Indians we have to realize that the same hatred pervades against India among the same 200 million. Many people in India believe that barring a handful of terrorist organizations, some Generals in the Army/ISI and a clutch of politicians, the rest of that wretched country are all right. No, that is simply not true. There is a deeply lodged hatred against us in each one of them.

RamanaGaru, not sure why its crucial? Other than preaching to the choir, who else will be the readers of such a monograph? Neither in USA, nor in India, where TSP enjoys a lot of support for its sustenance will such a monograph even be glanced at, let alone given any respect, especially if its written by an SDRE.

Apart from that excellent and true observation, I've become a little disappointed by Taseer's writing. He seems to have drunk a bit too much of the Lutyens koolaid.

But there is hope yet. His ability demonstrated in books and his articles in the lead up to Modi's election give me hope.

Saudi Arabia has extended a financial and economic assistance of 122 million dollars to Pakistan which is the highest amount Riyadh has officially given to Islamabad in the last five years.

The signing ceremony for the grant, which includes a 67 million dollars package, took place the day Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and army chief General Raheel Sharif were attending the closing ceremony of the multi-nation ‘Thunder of the North’ military exercise in Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan is a member of the military alliance of Muslim countries that Saudi Arabia formed late last year to fight terrorism. The new assistance, though insignificant, can indicate improved economic ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, experts said.

Economic Affairs Division (EAD) Secretary Tariq Bajwa and Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD )Yousaf Ibrahim al Bassam signed five grant agreements valuing $67 million and a loan agreement of $55 million, according to EAD. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar witnessed the signing ceremony. However, the commitments were more than $348 million and the rest of the amount could not be disbursed due to multiple reasons.

X-post from China Threat thread.

Chinese Army troops spotted along Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied - PTI
After frequent incursions in Ladakh area, Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops have been spotted at forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) on the Pakistani side of Kashmir, ringing alarm bells in the security grid.

The Army has spotted presence of senior PLA officials at the forward posts opposite Nowgam sector in North Kashmir after which some intercepts of Pakistani army officers suggested that the Chinese troops have come to create some infrastructure along the LoC, sources in the know of developments said today.

Army has officially maintained complete silence on the issue but have been constantly updating various intelligence agencies about the presence of PLA troops along the Line of Control, the sources said.

The PLA troops were first spotted in the later part of the last year and ever since their presence was witnessed opposite Tangdhar sector as well. In this area, Chinese government-owned China Gezhouba Group Company Limited has been building a Jhelum-Neelum 970 MW Hydel power project.

The hydel project is being built in response to India's Kishanganga power project being built in Bandipore of North Kashmir. The Indian project is designed to divert water from the Kishanganga River to a power plant in the Jhelum River basin and will have an installed capacity of 330 MW. Construction on the project began in 2007 and is expected to be complete this year.

The intercepts also suggested that Chinese PLA would be digging some tunnels in Leepa Valley, located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), to build an all-weather road which will serve as an alternate route to reach Karakoram Highway.

The visit by PLA officials is seen by experts as part of Beijing's 46 billion dollar China-Pakistan-Economic Corridor (CPEC) under which Gwadar port in Karachi is linked to Chinese Xinjiang province through Karakoram highway, an area under illegal occupation of China.

As the CPEC project was given final shape, India had last year registered its protest against the presence of Chinese troops in Gilgit and Baltistan, an area in PoK, saying that it was unacceptable to India.

In the meantime, some of the experts in the nation's security grid have been giving serious thoughts to the presence of PLA in close proximity with Pakistani army officials. Chinese officials have maintained that CPEC was an economical package to link Asia with Eurasia.

Srikanth Kondapalli, Professor in Chinese Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, who has been part of think-tank on Indian policy towards China, feels that the over growing presence of Chinese PLA was a cause of worry for India.

"What we know is that China is going to raise three divisions of its PLA under a local name in PoK that will guard the Chinese interests in occupied Kashmir. One needs to understand the game plan of Beijing," he said.

Reports emerging from PoK were suggesting that PLA under a local name will establish a security wing in the PoK so that India does not protest. The new three divisions, around 30,000 men, will be deployed in and around the installations built by the Chinese firms, the sources said, adding this way Beijing can also justify its presence along the LoC in northern part of Kashmir.

Just shows that pakis never cared for J&K as much as for terrorism and selling off lands to Chinese, like Shaksgam valley.

More surprisingly, the news is let out like wind after gassing about Kashmir as some 'international' venue - without a whiff about UN resolution!

I think when you look at the entire para, it comes into context:

"And finally, I wondered, what happens when an ideology of hate is no longer just coming from the mouths of Saudi-funded clerics but has infected the body of the people? What do you do when the madness is not confined to radical mosques and madrasas, but is abroad among a population of nearly 200 million?"

IIUC, he is saying the same thing you are: All of Pakistan is driven by hatred for modernity AND crucially, for what they are NOT. IOW, us. One thing I do notice is that AT keeps the India connection under wraps. I guess that's not kosher in Mira Kamdar's NYT

The budget numbers in Ajai Shukla's blog paint the reality. There never has been enough money for defense since 1990. All the defense allocations have been a card trick: allocate the money for capex, delay the selection process and put the unspent money back into the general budget to fund populist schemes.

Going forward, there is the frightening prospect of pensions and salaries (OROP) eating the capital budget alive. Which is why I suppose the GoI was halfhearted about the Mountain Strike Division. Congress authorized it but did not fund it (typical) and NDA funded only half when it should really have looked at reallocating manpower and repurposing existing divisions.

Unless we quickly convert from a labor intensive ground game to a drones, missiles and air platform game underpinned by tech, the math is against us and we are reaching some sort inflection point.

Even if the curricula are changed, the state's subversion of young & impressionable minds against the 'mortal Hindu baniya enemy' is stopped, the state propaganda through various media is discontinued, the Friday kutbah's stop preaching hatred etc., it will still take a few generations before the effects would be visible. While organically, this is most unlikely to happen, inorganically as well, it won't be allowed to happen because countries like the US & China have a vested interest as well.

(Gimmickry) Law Passed Against Child Sexual Abuse In Pakistan
Pakistan passes law against child sexual abuse
ISLAMABAD: The Senate, upper house of the parliament, on Friday passed the Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill 2015 aimed at providing protection to the children against sexual assault and other crimes against minors.
The bill was tabled by Minister for Human Rights Zahid Hamid in the House. The law criminalises assault against children, child ***** and trafficking.
IMO, Ganja Sharif, under the "guidance" of his educated daughter, wants to prove his "liberal" credentials and therefore is passing one progressive bill after the other ("Women Protection Bill" was the first); however, the Mullah Brigade is not "buying" this nonsense and is accusing his government of not implementing the Islamic agenda (whatever that means!) Values and beliefs take a long time to change !

Making of a shrine in Pakistan - Ayesha Siddiqa, The Hindu
Could anyone imagine even six months ago that Shahbaz Taseer, son of Pakistan’s slain Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, would be freed from his Taliban or Uzbek captors after nearly five years in captivity? Despite friends’ prayers, his circle of admirers and onlookers had given up hope. Perhaps the Taseer family had better hope as it was secretly negotiating with the captors. But his return remains as much of a mystery as his disappearance. No one knows why he was kept for five years and why it took so long to negotiate his return.

However, the release is made to look like a turn of events from the sordid and the tragic to a new beginning for Pakistan. This despite the fact that there is an absolute lack of clarity regarding the role of security agencies in the release. So, for all one cares, the younger Taseer’s release was, by coincidence, a week after Mumtaz Qadri, his father’s killer, was hanged on the orders of the Pakistan Supreme Court. But it has been all made to look like things were following a natural sequence indicating Pakistan’s metamorphosis from a Taliban-ridden state to a haven for liberalism.

A mirage?

Glancing through Pakistan’s English-language press, it seems that we are back to discovering the good old Pakistan.{A good old Pakistan where hatred and violence were reserved only for the Hindus and India} Many in the national and international media have presented these events as a much-awaited shift towards peace and stability that was made possible only due to a perceived change in the military’s thinking. Operation Zarb-e-Azb, which begun in June 2014 and was aimed at terrorists ensconced in the tribal areas in the north of the country, is viewed as a precursor to some kind of a metamorphosis.

We hear of some sort of mutation in the attitude of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was earlier criticised by liberals as representing a soft form of the Jamaat-e-Islami. It’s his President Mamnoon Hussain who bravely ventured to reject Mumtaz Qadri’s appeal against his death sentence. Moreover, he was quick in announcing “prompt action” against the perpetrators of the Pathankot attack, and a police report was indeed initiated against un-named assailants.

But almost 400 km away from where the Taseer family is rejoicing its reunion with its son is the evolving shrine of Mumtaz Qadri in the Bara Kahu neighbourhood in the suburbs of the capital city, Islamabad. The grave, which was dug in the middle of an empty ground and is likely to turn into a blooming shrine, attracts hundreds of people every day who come to pray for his forgiveness and salute his bravery for and commitment to standing up for his religion and dying for it. There are flowers strewn on his grave every day and free food served to whoever visits, which is bound to attract more people. Over 2,50,000 people attended the funeral of a man who is a criminal in the eyes of Pakistan’s Supreme Court.

Raising passions

Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa of the Supreme Court of Pakistan did not find Salman Taseer guilty of committing blasphemy, the grounds on which Qadri shot dead the then Punjab Governor in January 2011. Justice Khosa also upheld Qadri’s death sentence by the sessions court. No one really expected that Qadri would be hanged given the passion and mass hysteria surrounding the blasphemy issue. There are many cases in which people have taken the law into their own hands and tortured people to death without hearing their side of the story. The issue is highly emotive and not even the ideological opponents of the Barelvi school of thought that Qadri represented, such as the Deobandi and Ahle-Hadith, could utter a word supporting his hanging. In fact, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leadership also took part in the funeral.

The blasphemy law and Qadri’s sentence are both highly divisive issues. Ordinary people ask how a person whose funeral was attended by hundreds of thousands could be a sinner. Or how it is that the Asia Bibi case which started earlier has not been decided as yet. People see a foreign, particularly western and Israeli, conspiracy behind the quick decision and hanging. {They didn't see a Hunudi hand ? Strange}

A space with limits

What is certainly new is the strange caution among those visiting the Qadri shrine. The voices criticising the government’s perceived unfairness get muffled in the sound of the azaan. The manner in which the mob was stopped from joining Qadri’s family for the burial is a definite signal to his father and other family members that they ought not to cross certain limits. It is all right for the traders of Lahore to weigh Qadri’s father in gold or to contribute to the building of the shrine, but it must not be a space for political rebellion.

The Barelvis are in a majority in the country but are not equated with militancy. Barring a few small groups that fought in Kashmir, they are generally dedicated to preaching. {Yes, preaching hatred. It is the Barelvis who laid the foundation for the 'enduring hostility' with the 'mortal baniya Hindu enemy'. The point to be noted here is that even for well-known analysts like Ayuesha Siddiqa, it is all right for hatred to be spread against India and she would not even tie up how it is that hatred and that continuing hatred alone that has got Pakistan into the present situation} In the last decade or so, they seem to be gathering support and using the issue of blasphemy in order to push back their ideological opponents — the Deobandis and the Ahl-Hadith — represented by the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and the Lashkar-e-Taiba/Jamaat-ud-Dawa (LeT/JuD) respectively. Although blasphemy is a dicey issue to tackle, Barelvi extremism has not won support from the government as in the case of the Deobandi and Ahle-Hadith militancy, which, over the years, tweaked their ideology to accommodate the Pakistan state’s military-strategic objectives.

Thus far, there is no evidence that the Deobandi and Ahl-Hadith militancy has lost state support. According to Sartaj Aziz, the Foreign Affairs Adviser to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the state will eventually deal with the JeM and the LeT as well. But the JeM based in Bahawalpur, in Punjab, and the LeT based in Muridke, outside Lahore, do not indicate any nervousness regarding possible doom. The JeM leadership exhibits neither nervousness nor indicates haste in removing the armed guards around its main centre. The LeT, on the other hand, has a more expansive organisational structure, and is thus quite sensitive to managing the popular narrative. For instance, around Pathankot, the organisation’s main spokesperson went around convincing journalists in Islamabad and Lahore of the LeT’s vulnerability — and that the government was targeting it needlessly when all that it did was welfare. But there is little reason for Rawalpindi to clean up the plains of Punjab and Sindh, particularly of the JeM and the LeT/JuD. The main worry was the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, parts of which were eliminated and the rest allowed to merge into other more “acceptable” groups, such as the JeM, it was ideologically affiliated with. A significant segment of the LeJ was encouraged to develop its political wing, a formula considered appropriate for the mainstreaming of Deobandi militants. However, this formula remains problematic as militancy is not necessarily driven by lack of occupation or mainstreaming.

The two sides

As Qadri’s hanging is symbolic of the state’s resolve to discourage people taking the law into their own hands {In a normal nation-state, this is how a government behaves. But, in Pakistan, this behaviour is to be seen in the context of changes in the terrorism landscape there. The 'Establishment' seems to have decided that it lost its grip on jihadi violence that led to the situation since c. 2002. The Establishment wants to re-establish its sole proprietorship to jihad and time was ripe to do so. Op. Zerb-e-Azb was because of that realization after having muscularly resisted US pressure on action in North Waziristan for almost a decade.}, the new shrine denotes a sharp disagreement of the common people with the state and its decision {This is the '200 million problem'} . There is nothing much that can happen in the form of de-radicalisation, especially when the state has no plan to encourage it. Furthermore, it is a difficult venture in a hybrid-theocracy like Pakistan’s. For years, the common people were trained to think of themselves as protecting Islam and the Ummah. Jihad and blasphemy are a part of this formula, which is not about to change. One hears stories about Daeesh literature being discovered from the Quaid-i-Azam University involving both students and the faculty. How can a shift happen without tearing down such ideological shrines?

The simplest possible method for the state is to develop zero tolerance for violence and gradually ensure that justice is institutionalised.{It is not because of delayed/denied justice etc. The 'justice' that Pakistanis are groomed into expecting is of a different variety. Pakistan cannot be saved, it is beyond redemption. Even if Daesh unravels and dies, the next such ideology, even more virulent at that, would emerge only from Pakistan. The US and China are abetting that. Make no mistake} People should share the euphoria on decisions beyond the elite. If a sense of disproportionate justice continues, these very ideological shrines could emerge a bigger problem for the state and the region.

Lahore HC notice against Shahid Afridi for 'getting more love in India' comment - ToI
Captain Shahid Afridi has become embroiled in yet another controversy after a petition was filed against him in the Lahore High Court over his latest remark that the Pakistan cricket team gets more love in India than in their home country.

The petition was filed by advocate Azhar Siddique on Monday who argued that Afridi's statement has hurt Pakistani sentiments and the court must ask the skipper to explain his remarks, reports Daily Pakistan.

"The Lahore High Court should issue a notice to Shahid Afridi seeking an explanation in 15 days," Siddique requested the court.

Afridi had given the statement while addressing a press conference in Kolkata where the Pakistani team landed on Saturday evening to take part in the World Twenty20, to be held across seven Indian cities from March 15 to April 3. He had said that he always enjoyed playing in front of Indian fans and that they received more love in India than in Pakistan.

So, the "word police" in Pakiland- the guardians of the so-called Pakistan Ideology- - are now going after Paki "Hyper-Nationalist" Afridi, for hurting "Pakistani sentiments" - whatever that means!Hope this "publicity seeker" has learned his lessons. In the future, before making any comments vis-a-vis ("small heart!) India, he should first clear the same with the self appointed "word police"

Pakistan-born French embassy employee fired for being Muslim wins lawsuit
WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – A Pakistan-born French citizen and former employee of the French Embassy in Washington DC, who was fired for being a Muslim, has won a federal lawsuit against the French mission.
Saima Ashraf-Hassan came to the United States a few months after the September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001, and took a job at the French Embassy in DC. She said her co-workers harassed her, called her a “terrorist” and told her she couldn’t wear a hijab at work.
Hassan said when she told her supervisor she was pregnant, the embassy fired her. She later sued the French Embassy for discrimination and last month a federal judge ruled in her favour.
However, the embassy is still fighting the case and an attorney for the embassy told News4 he had filed two new motions asking the judge to review his ruling.
A couple of comments about this one-sided reportage by a Paki Newspaper:

(1) The Paki lady should be thankful that her lawsuit was reviewed in an manner where her religious background- unlike Sharia compliant countries like SA, Pakistan- had no bearing on the outcome
(2) Secondly, can you imagine a scenario, where a French female national, wearing a western dress in Saudia or in Pakiland, allowed to file a discrimination lawsuit, under Sharia Law, against a Saudi/Paki employer; and to top it, winning the lawsuit !
(3) Thirdly - when in Rome, do as the Romans do ! if you want Hijab, Nikab, Burqa, it is better to return back to the Land Of the Two Holy Mosques, or its subsidiary - Pakiland :x

An absolutely vital bit of insight that all of us on BRF must read, understand and internalise, because it is a fundamental truth. And then that understanding must be transmitted. The above has nothing to do with India. It is Pakistan's disease and the doctors won't let it die from the disease nor get well. This is one monster they need alive.

The Mukti Bahini killed anywhere from 100,000 Biharis (according to the ‘Chronology for Biharis in Bangladesh’) to 150,000 Biharis (according to the ‘Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace and Conflict; page 64). Qutubuddin Aziz, in ‘Blood and Tears’, has documented 170 eye-witness accounts of the ‘atrocities committed on Biharis and other non-Bengalis’ across 55 towns, covering ‘110 places where the slaughter of the innocents took place’.According to Lawrence Lifschultz, South Asia correspondent for the Far Eastern Economic Review, the Mukti Bahini leader, Abdul Kader Siddiqui, “personally bayoneted” non-Bengalis to death and the entire incident was filmed by foreign film crews whom Siddiqui had invited to witness the spectacle. For the record, as per the 1951 census there were 671,000 Biharis in East Pakistan-and imagine up to 20 percent of the entire Bihari population was massacred by the Mukti Bahini. According to Yasmin Saikia’s ‘Women, War and the Making of Bangladesh’, thousands of Bihari women were raped and tortured by the Mukti Bahini (Duke University Press; page 41). The old saying is that “no one has been able to strike terror into others and at the same time enjoy peace of mind”. The Mukti Bahini terrorists may have been forgotten but the terror that they unleashed on innocent Biharis and other non-Bengalis cannot be whipped off the history books.

The issue is that Pakistanis find this sort of fantasy credible. I am coming to the conclusion that Indians and Pakistanis are two distinct varieties of the human species. I don't think it is only social engineering, the problem may be fundamental to the gene pool as a consequence of consanguinity.

I think Indians should cut them some slack.

While organically, this is most unlikely to happen, inorganically as well, it won't be allowed to happen because countries like the US & China have a vested interest as well.
A De-Nazification program is needed for TSP.
However as long as ME is under the Islam sway, this needs to be done everywhere.

Mullah Brigade Wins, Ganja Sharif Loses; "Liberalization" Put On Hold

PM Nawaz vows to amend Punjab Women Protection Bill: JUI-F chief
LAHORE (Staff Report) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has promised to amend the “Protection of Women against violence Bill 2015”, so that it does not contradict with the Quran and Sunnah.
The "learned maulana" is now sure that "tom-catting" rights of the Aam Abduls rights will not be affected under the new legislation !

Speaking to the media after the meeting at the Prime Minister’s Raiwand residence on Monday, the JUI-F chief said Nawaz Sharif had promised to addressed his reservations and make amendments to a legislation against domestic violence passed by the Punjab Assembly last month.

Punjab Assembly had passed Protection of Women against violence Bill 2015, making all crimes against the women an offence including domestic violence, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, verbal abuse, stalking, abetment of an offence, and cyber crimes.
Earlier Fazl, AKA, Maulana Deisel had thundered against this bill, aroused the Aam Abduls and threatened derailment of NS govt; so, it now appears that Ganja's liberalization plans are now postponed - like the Paki National Census

Young female boxers pack a punch in Pakistan – in pictures
For the past six months about a dozen young women, aged eight to 17, have been attending the Pak Shaheen boxing club in Karachi to practise their jabs, hooks and upper cuts in the hope of one day bringing a medal home

Secondly, has the necessary permission/fatwa been obtained from Jamaat-e-Islami and or the Mullah Brigade !

Sir .. slightly OT here ... one of the most well know descendant from that Columbia school is N.RAM - who runs the THE CHINDU newspaper, which is fast getting discredited even among the common man in Chennai and TN. N.RAM was a leader in Communist affiliated SFI (Students Federation of India) union during his college days in India & He later studied Journalism in Columbia University. He then returned back to take control of THE HINDU and it soon got transformed to THE CHINDU. THE CHINDU under N.RAM has been well know for sucking up to China, Sri Lanka and deliberately tarnishing current NDA's rule. THE CHINDU has been raking in losses since last couple of years. The paper has itself been caught peddling wrong news by many of the ministries of the current GoI & given with rebuttals for the hatchet jobs that they printed in their paper. As a result, CHINDU has been forced to print 'apology & regret letters to its readers for having provided wrong information' in the 'Letters From People' section !!!!.

TSP's terrorist acts in India always gets sort of white washed by THE CHINDU and it always advises the GoI to never retaliate against TSP even via economic means or through covert manners.

^^^ OT here so with some trepidation:

I was recently rebutting some Commies on SM. This was post JNU-KK incident. The Commies were going hard but went silent the moment I posted about Frankfurt school. They did not expect anyone in the group to know about Commie history of Frankfurt school. But thanks to BRF, I was aware and was able to out argue around 05 commies.

The other thing I pointed out successfully was the similarity in the Commie demands and those from TSP, Non Commie members of the group just latched on to it in one voice. Fence sitters found it easier thereafter to argue with the Commies.

And to add: I learnt this from Fair didi  - The moment someone says UN resolution on Kashmir, ask them have they read it. It is a killer 'App'.

Pakistan trying to get more F-16 jets from US: Report - PTI
Pakistan is trying to get more F-16s from the US as well as looking towards countries like Russia and France for new aircraft to replace old ones to match India's defence purchases, according to a report.

Jane's Defence Weekly reported this week that Pakistan would seek to purchase ten F-16 additional planes from the United States if the current deal for eight of these fighter jets is successfully concluded.

Dawn quoted the Jane's Defence Weekly that Pakistan wants new 16C/D Block 52 multi-role fighters, which are equipped with precision strike capability, as it would enhance its capability to reduce collateral damage in the war against terrorists who often hide among civilians.

A "decision in principle has been made to buy 10 more F-16s," a senior Pakistani government official told Jane's, while adding that "the exact timing to place an order is yet to be decided".

He said Pakistan Air Force needed to retire 190 planes by 2020, forcing the country to look for various options.

The official said that the strong resistance it faced in the US Congress for buying a small batch of eight planes was "discouraging".

"That's why we are looking at other options too, such as buying them from Russia or France."

The official noted that while French planes were "very expensive, the Russians are not and they are equally good".

In September last year, Russia offered to sell Su-35 planes to Pakistan, which are among the fifth generation aircraft, it said.

Pakistani officials say that India's defence purchases also influence their search for a matching technology.

India is already working on a plan to replace its current fleet of planes with fifth generation aircraft by 2020, forcing Pakistan to do the same.

They say that while Pakistan is not looking to match the exact number of planes the Indians have but they would like to maintain a fleet of 350 to 400 aircraft.

Pakistani officials point out that they also have a large-scale defence collaboration with China, "which is a great source of strength" for the country.

Mushy seeks one-time permission to go abroad for medical treatment- as noose tightens
ISLAMABAD: As the Supreme Court commences on Tuesday consideration of an urgent request by former president retired Gen Pervez Musharraf for granting him one-time permission to go abroad for medical treatment, two more applications were moved — one in support of his plea and the other against it.
Mr Musharraf is facing a treason trial for clamping an emergency in the country on Nov 3, 2007.
On Monday, he filed a medical certificate issued by Dr M Sohail Rafi, an Associate Professor of Dr Ziauddin Hospital ...
On the other hand Haroon Rashid, a son of Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdul Rashid who was killed during the 2007 military operation has moved a petition through his counsel Tariq Asad with a request to dismiss Mr Musharraf’s plea of seeking surgery abroad.
If we see the last two years record, the application explained, we will find that Mr Musharraf had been interviewed by 40 television channels during this period while he attended a number of functions in which he was seen even dancing.
Not to mention the usual bombastic statements that this pathological liar is known for !
“But whenever his date of hearing in the court draws nearer, his health condition becomes dreary and dismal and he fell sick. If Musharraf really needed treatment then he should have taken it seriously instead of attending functions and television talk shows,” the petition said.
With no friends left in high places,(where is Raheel !) the Kammandu wants to "escape" Paki justice by hook or by crook !
“It is believed that in Pakistan the facilities of treatment including surgery of all kinds of diseases are available...
The application said Mr Musharraf was rushed to the hospital for treatment the day when a local trial court, seized with a murder case of Lal Masjid cleric, had issued his non-bailable warrant. (perfect timing !)
On March 15 the Supreme Court may also take up a pending federal government’s appeal against the June 12 Sindh High Court order of removing Mr Musharraf’s name from the ECL.
So, the ex president is fighting his legal battles on more than one front; good thing that in Pakistan, lawyer services don't cost an arm and a leg; if litigation was in Massaland, he would have been bankrupt long time ago
