Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
What a display
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Somehow the feeling is not the same watching the Hawk-Suryakiran as compared to the 9 "Kiran" aircraft "Suryakiran" display team..
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
After seeing this hope Modi gives mucho paisa for AF budget
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
what will it take for DD to get high rez cameras?
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
What happened to Target #9?
The LGB from Su30 hitting Target #9 was not shown??!!!!

Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Same with #11, LGB dropped on the left. Did 2 LGBs missed?
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
either the camera work is the WORST I have ever seen even by past DD iaf shows or there are misses....the R73 did not seem to explode anywhere near the slowly floating parachute flare or passed close by but did not explode.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
LCAs R-73 missed by a wide margin. Even its LGB drop was not shown.
Iglas missed too. WTH!!!

Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
I don;t know what you guys are watching but DD cameraman didn;t show anything.. he dislikes explosions apparently
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Yes, camerawork is really really too much.. he didn't even show the LCA LGB drop, and only smoke was shown so you'd know it actually LGBed a target
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
DD is mostly showing the audience
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Damn.... just let Akash hit something.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015

Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Yep, with R73 I thought it was a miss, but guess what, even the Igla missile was not shown anywhere near the flare. Either they both missed (I don't think so) or this is the WORST camera work EVER.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Actually LCA's LGB's FLIR screen showcase was a great idea...would be better if the explosion could be seen as well. Probably missed...Wasn't LCA supposed to fire Derby BVR as well? Why can't DD invest a higher res better quality camera? Also train them? I am sure these exercises will be rehearsed a few days before the d-day. DD could have deputed the cameraman and working with IAF, could have known when & where to point the camera.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
OSA-SK missile fire was a success...so Igla & R-73 probably missed the flares. Ouch!
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
DD really got a bad coverage , didnt follow up with AAM/SAM ended up showing Mantriji and people on podium . Weather too is not good.
Not sure what DD Camera man think if they are covering press conference , plus bad camera
Wondering why they are not firing 2 Missile at the target

Check out the the scenario VIDEO . These guys need a bigger budget for publicity. Sad.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
They are shifting the camera to the podium not proper followup , Except the lady shouting its engaged and then shifting the camera to Mantrij

Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
They are cutting off just before the hit, thats what is happening. Because I see the audience clapping for each hit. They are screwing us guys watching the webcast/DD.Sid wrote:I did not see OSAs actually hit the drums, what's going on!!!
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015

Kalyan Singh ji seems to have had a powerful meal.
Even the bombs blasting and jets flying in the vicinity can't disturb his snooze !

Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Someone needs to drop a LGB on this DD producer.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Zynda, I thot it passed behind and circled for a shot.. if you see OSA vids on YT it snakes to the target
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Sid, they won't show it. But audience clapping.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
My Impression is the Camera ( not the camera man which is another story ) is good for closer towards podium event like Aerobatic or Helicopter Flying but covering other stuff like SAM or Missile Firing at longer distance or height the camera cannot follow it up with clarity.
In any case its satisfying to know in all cases the Rockets and Dumbs bomb works well , if not the missile or LGB

Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
DD guy showed top right corner. Bombs aimed at bottom left.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
DD guy covering a wedding, will show the podium, guests arriving and that is it.Austin wrote:My Impression is the Camera ( not the camera man which is another story ) is good for closer towards podium event like Aerobatic or Helicopter Flying but covering other stuff like SAM or Missile Firing at longer distance or height the camera cannot follow it up with clarity.

Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Either the cameraman is not showing the missile hits or their camera is so bad that a close and quick flyby by the missile is not visible. I think it is the latter. If the warhead is not exploding, how can we see the missile passing by with such poor resolution broadcast.
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Wanted to Tweet IAF and request them to seat someone with the camera coordinator and hit the man on the head every time he shows PM/President when he should be showing the target. Same shit went on at IFR. Pathetic. Doordarshan camera persons have been doing a lousy job of Republic day parade flypasts for decades and have not learned a thingKaran M wrote:Yes, camerawork is really really too much.. he didn't even show the LCA LGB drop, and only smoke was shown so you'd know it actually LGBed a target
Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
Oh OK. Great for OSA then
I think IAF should employ Salt of the Earth and/or similar defense enthusiasts for media coverage of these events instead of stupid DD.

I really hope ADA/DRDO comes out with a much better HD quality vid of Tejas' performance during IF-16...
