pursuing and convicting drug cartel criminals is regularly touted by the press as proof of the judges all American loyalty.

fact is, there are a lot of Mexicans in *Mexico* who hate and despise the drug cartel. they have a vigilante problem of taking the law in their own hands against the drug cartel. the Mexican government is constantly trying to prevent vigilantism and some of the horrible mistakes that are made.

so convicting drug cartel members is no proof of loyalty to America as is regularly flogged by the press. it doesn't prove or disprove either way.

the judge is doing his job.

the donald needs to let his lawyers do the talking and he needs to stfu about it.

the whole trump u. thing was an egregious exercise in the donald's need for glorification and endless self promotion and now he is paying the price for it.

I'm still voting for trump because I hate the globalists.

I just hope trump doesn;t turn into evita peron......

Come now Rajeshji, you know better than to buy into such simplistic translations. At the very least why not let the organisation explain the name.

This is from the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association website -
The Name

Many people incorrectly translate the name, “La Raza,” as “the race.” While it is true that one meaning of “raza” in Spanish is indeed “race,” in Spanish, as in English and any other language, words can and do have multiple meanings. As noted in several online dictionaries, “La Raza” means “the people” or “the community.”

Translating our name as “the race” is not only inaccurate, it is factually incorrect. “Hispanic” is an ethnicity, not a race. As anyone who has ever met a Dominican American, Mexican American, or Spanish American can attest, Hispanics can be and are members of any and all races.

The term “La Raza” has its origins in early 20th century Latin American literature and translates into English most closely as “the people” or, according to some scholars, as “the Hispanic people of the New World.” The term was coined by Mexican scholar José Vasconcelos to reflect the fact that the people of Latin America are a mixture of many of the world’s races, cultures, and religions. In contrast, the term “Hispanic” has its origins in the 1970 U.S. Census, and the term “Latino” was officially adopted in 1997 by the U.S. Government in the ethnonym “Hispanic or Latino.”

Mistranslating “La Raza” to mean “the race” implies that it is a term meant to exclude others. In fact, the full term coined by Vasconcelos, “La Raza Cósmica,” meaning the “cosmic people,” was developed to reflect not purity but the mixture inherent in the Hispanic people. This is an inclusive concept, meaning that Hispanics share with all other peoples of the world a common heritage and destiny.

And this is not just SDLRLA’s interpretation. According to the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, “La Raza” means:

“…Mexicans or Mexican Americans considered as a group, sometimes extending to all Spanish-speaking people of the Americas.”

Furthermore, MSNBC’s online Spanish-English website, Encarta, translates the term this way:

“Hispanic Spanish-speakers in the Americas: Mexicans, Mexican Americans, or Spanish-speaking people of the Americas, considered as a group.”

The Free Dictionary, available online, similarly finds that the term “La Raza”:

“…embodies the notion that traditional, exclusive concepts of race and nationality can be transcended in the name of humanity’s common destiny.”

This is from Wikipedia -
La Raza Cósmica

Published in 1925, La Raza Cósmica (The Cosmic Race) is an essay written by late Mexican philosopher, secretary of education, and 1929 presidential candidate, José Vasconcelos to express the ideology of a future "fifth race" in the Americas; an agglomeration of all the races in the world with no respect to colour or number to erect a new civilisation: Universópolis.

Usage of phrase

The phrase, "La raza cósmica", in English "the cosmic race", embodies the notion that traditional, exclusive concepts of so-called “race” and nationality can be transcended in the name of humanity's common destiny. It originally referred to a movement by Mexican intellectuals during the 1920s who pointed out that so-called “Latin” Americans have the blood of all the world's so-called “races”: European, Asian-descended native Americans and Africans, thereby transcending the peoples of the "old world".

Vasconcelos also used the term when he coined the National Autonomous University of Mexico's motto: "Por mi raza hablará el espíritu" (For my race the spirit will speak).

It has come, often in its shortened version "La Raza", to refer to the mixed race people of Latin America, i.e., primarily mestizos, mulattos, and zambos or all three combined. Vasconcelos also used the expression, "la raza de bronce" ("the Bronze race"), in this same sense.
Nothing wrong with "good old nationalism" or "good old Mexican nationalism", only that Donald Trump is saying or rather wants to say, only doesn't seem to be able to, is that "good old Mexican nationalism" is a political ideology which would see Donald Trump's candidacy as totally contrary to its ideology and interests, and since the judge happens to have a political bias against Trump, he should recuse himself, especially with his history of showing discrimination towards Trump in the case.
And what exactly does 'Mexican nationalism' have to do with 'Hispanic advocacy'? Surely the distinction between the two is obvious?
Problem with Trump is that instead of making out a case that the judge is racist or biased, having a strong political bias against him, Trump has ended up being called the racist. In order to make his point, he would have had to show some eloquence and precision far above his usual rhetoric, which he has not managed. Bad!!!

It doesn't mean Trump is wrong or racist. All it means is Trump lacks the rhetorical skills required of a politician.
It doesn't require a lot of eloquence to say he's being unfairly targeted (irrespective of whether that's true) without actually calling the judge 'a Mexican'.
What the Trump U case is or not is, who scammed who, is really not important.
Perhaps not to people who're utterly committed to voting for him come hell or high water.

For everybody else, the fact that a man who claims to be worth $10 bn, more money than an ordinary person could spend in a lifetime, would go to the extent of swindling hundreds of gullible working class people, middle class retirees and youngsters out of thousands of dollars (in many cases utterly ruining them) would matter a great deal. Especially since most of people who signed up to receive a 'Trump education' did so because they believed in him and his brand, much like his supporters do.

Trump University Ad:

Cringeworthy? Yes. But still quite amazing. Its one thing to make tall BS claims, but somehow practically everything in his pitch was a blatant and provable lie and even the most inexperience of lawyers could have explained the idiocy of his actions to him (not that Trump is the sort to listen).

It wasn't a 'university'. His 'professors and adjunct professors' weren't 'hand picked' by him and most of them had little expertise. Even the President of Trump University had ZERO real estate experience aside buying his own house. One of the instructors was a convicted felon, another a former manager of a fast food joint.

When went the RICO case started, Trump hilariously tried to claim that since he just owned the business and didn't participate in its management, he wasn't personally liable for any fraud committed. Of course since Trump true to form had pasted his name and face all over the business, the judge turned his petition down.

To the issue at hand there is no difference whether one uses "race" or "ethnicity" for "La Raza", as the determining factor is focusing on the distinction of those who associate with the identity "Mexican" from those who identify with the identity "American" from the point of having divergent "Raza" interests. For all it matters "La Raza" can mean religion or club or class. It is the demarcation from others and own interests that define the grouping.

Building a wall between America and Mexico, which leads to a downgrading of Mexican hold over "America" and "American land" is obviously contrary to the interests of "La Raza" regardless of how one defines it, and the judge being a part of "La Raza" ideology would be naturally disinclined towards Trump, in other words 'biased'.

I believe you didn't get the point. It is unimportant from perspective of Indian interests whether Trump is an enlightened Buddha or somebody who snatches handbags from old grandmas. The only important thing is what does he bring to the table for India as compared to Hillary Clinton Presidency, and depending on that Indian Americans, in case they care about Indian interests, should vote.

I don't consider we are Kejriwals out to give character certificates to others.

Modi has repeatedly demonstrated his clout over the NRI community in the US.

Maybe it's time to quietly put out the word as to who might help India more and take it from there.

It is not by coincidence that he tactfully avoided addressing the NRI lot en masse to spare his hosts any embarrassment.

Just read this statistic on the Internet:

Battle of The Bulge: Germans threw in 450,000 troops, well over 1200 tanks, 4800 artillery pieces. Lost ~125000 casualties.

US threw in 610,000 troops, suffering 89,000 casualties!!!!

And here I thought it was the 5 film stars and a 100 or so other parachutists who tried to a Bridge Too Far and then stopped the Germans and constituted the entire US force, suffering 15 casualties !!

Shows you what commitment (of other people's lives) is needed, and what Wall Street can bring to bear when needed.

San Jose Police Chief Who Admits ALLOWING ATTACKS on Trump Supporters is Affiliated With La Raza

Aleister Jun 5th, 2016 12:16 pm Leave a Comment

The San Jose police department is under increasing scrutiny over charges that they allowed Trump supporters to be attacked by violent rioters following a Trump event.

The police chief Eddie Garcia has adamantly denied the charges.

The Mercury News reported:

San Jose police chief defends officers accused of failing to protect Trump supporters from violence

A day after a melee erupted outside a Donald Trump rally, the San Jose police chief and mayor on Friday defended themselves from a national backlash over their handling of the dramatic and at times violent protest.

On radio talk shows and across social media, some called for Mayor Sam Liccardo’s resignation because of his comments suggesting that Trump was to blame for igniting violence, while police were criticized for failing to protect Trump supporters from angry protesters throwing punches, water bottles and traffic cones. Some videos showed those attacks and suggested they were unprovoked, but others showed Trump supporters taunting protesters, ripping their Dump Trump signs and throwing the first punches.

While it appeared to many onlookers that police allowed the violence to proceed unchecked, San Jose police Chief Eddie Garcia insisted that it was more important for police to hold their “skirmish line” formations than to stop individual attacks. Four arrests were made.

“We are not an ‘occupying force’ and cannot reflect the chaotic tactics of the protesters,” Garcia told reporters. Unless a victim’s life was in peril or the violence was “spiraling out of control,” he said, officers held back to avoid inciting more violence and having the crowd turn on officers. He also said the 250 police weren’t enough to control the roughly 400 protesters.

The Mercury News lies. “Taunting” anti-Trump thugs does not excuse bloody public beatings.

What has gone largely unreported, is that police chief Eddie Garcia is affiliated with the far left group La Raza.

The stakes could not be higher. Not only the future of the BRICS, but the future of a new multipolar world is in the balance. And it all hinges on what happens in Brazil in the next few months.

Let’s start with the Kafkaesque internal turmoil. The coup against President Dilma Rousseff remains an unrivalled media theatre/political tragicomedy gift that keeps on giving. It also doubles as a case of information war converted into a strategic tool of political control.

From left in front row: Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, Chinese President Xi Jinping walk for a plenary session during the summit in Ufa, Russia, Thursday, July 9, 2015

Brazil’s Dilma Faces Coup: ‘Say Goodbye to BRICS, Say Hello to Washington’
A succession of appalling audio leaks has revealed that key sectors of the Brazilian military as well as selected Supreme Court justices have legitimized the coup against a President that has always protected the two-year-old Car Wash corruption investigation. Even Western mainstream media was forced to admit that Dilma did not steal anything but is being impeached by a bunch of thieves. Their agenda; to stifle the Car Wash investigation, which may eventually throw many of them in jail.
The leaks also unveiled a nasty internecine carnage between Brazilian comprador elites — peripheral and mainstream. Essentially the peripherals were used as lowly paperboys in Congress for the dirty work. But now they may be about to become road kill – along the illegitimate, unpopular, interim Michel Temer “government”, led by a bunch of corrupt-to-the-core PMDB politicians, the party that is heir to the sole opposition outfit tolerated during the 1960s-1980s military dictatorship.

Meet the vassal chancellor

An insidious character in the current golpeachment scam is the interim Minister of Foreign Relations, senator Jose Serra of the PSDB party, the social democrats turned neoliberal enforcers. In the 2002 presidential election – which he lost to Lula — Serra had already tried to get rid of peripheral Brazilian oligarchies.

Yet now he’s incarnating another role — perfectly positioned not only to retrograde Brazilian foreign policy to some point around the 1964 military coup, but mostly as the Beltway’s point man inside the coup racket.

Exceptionalistan’s key ally in Brazil is the oligarchy in Sao Paulo, the wealthiest state and home to the financial capital of Latin America. This is Brazil’s A-list. It’s from their ranks that an eventual “national savior” may eventually spring up.

Once the peripherals are history, then no holds would be barred to criminalize – and imprison – an array of leftist leaders, Lula included, as well as manufacture a fake election legitimized by a noxious Supreme Court justice, Gilmar Mendes, a PSDB stooge.

It all hinges on what happens in the next two months. The prosecutor general finally asked the Supreme Court to throw three top peripherals in jail; they are all accused of plotting to derail the Car Wash investigation — an extremely complex juridical-political-police network of myriad concentric/parallel circles.

Leaked Tapes Expose Coup Plot Against Brazil’s Dilma Rousseff
Meanwhile, the final judgment of Dilma’s impeachment at the Senate is bound to happen on August 16 – 11 days after the start of the Olympic Games. The coup plotters suffered a heavy blow as they were trying hard to accelerate the proceedings. As it stands, the outcome is uncertain; after the leaks, four to five senators are already wavering, as the leaks also implicate Temer personally. The “leader” of a zero-credibility, corruption-crammed scam, he’s among the targets of several corruption investigations and has just been banned from running to political office for the next 8 years.
The Brazilian mainstream media monopoly (five families) – popularly referred to as PIG, the Brazilian acronym for Pro-Coup Media Party – has changed its anti-left tune and is now also going after selected members of the Temer racket.

According to the constitution, if both the Presidency and Vice-Presidency are vacated in the last two years of a given term, it’s up to Congress to elect the new President.

This implies two possible scenarios. If Dilma is not impeached, it’s increasingly likely she will call for new presidential elections before the end of the year.

If she is impeached, the PIG will tolerate the stooge-crammed Temer interim racket until January 2017 at the most. The next step would be what Serra and about-to-be-jailed Senate leader Renan Calheiros are campaigning for; the end of direct presidential elections and the onset of Brazilian-style parliamentarianism.

'The Great Destruction': Brazil's New Elite Drowning in Graft Allegations
The man best positioned to be the national savior in this case is former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso – also former “Prince of Sociology” and a major star (during the 1960s and early 1970s) of the dependency theory, then metamorphosed into an avid neoliberal. Cardoso is a very close pal of both Bill Clinton and Tony Blair. The Beltway/Wall Street axis loves him. Cardoso would be “elected” mostly by the pack of Congress hyenas who got the Dilma impeachment rolling on April 17.
The hard node of golpeachment goes way beyond peripheral Brazilian elites. It is comprised of a political party (the PSDB); the Globo media empire; the Federal Police (very cozy with the FBI); the Public Ministry; most of the Supreme Court; and sectors of the military. Only the Beltway/Wall Street axis has the means and the necessary pull to regiment all these players – by hard cash, blackmail or promises of glory.

And that ties in with key unanswered questions regarding the recent audio leaks. Who taped the conversations. Who leaked them. Why now. Who profits from a nation in total political/economic/juridical chaos, with virtually all institutions totally discredited.

Neoliberalism or chaos

Those were the days when Washington could mastermind, with impunity, an old-fashioned military coup in its backyard – as in Brazil 1964. Or as in Chile during the original 9/11 – in 1973, as seen through crack Chilean film maker Patricio Guzman’s moving documentary about Salvador Allende.

History, predictably, now repeats itself as farce as the 2016 coup has turned Brazil – the 7th largest economy in the world and a key Global South player – into a Honduras or Paraguay (where recent US-supported coups were successful).

I have shown how the coup in Brazil is an extremely sophisticated Hybrid War operation going way beyond unconventional warfare (UW); four generation warfare (4GW); color revolutions; and R2P (“responsibility to protect”), all the way to the summit of smart power; a political-financial-judicial-mainstream media soft coup unveiled in slow motion. This is the beauty of a coup when promoted by democratic institutions.

First Brazil, Next Venezuela: Will the World See a Coup in Caracas?
Neoliberalism may have failed, as even the IMF research wing has concluded. But its rotten corpse still encumbers the whole planet. Neoliberalism is not only an economic model; it surreptitiously takes over the juridical realm as well. In another perverse facet of shock doctrine, neoliberalism cannot prevail without a juridical framework.
When constitutional attributions are redirected to Congress that keeps the Executive under control while generating a culture of political corruption. Politics is subordinated to economics. Companies engage in campaign financing and buy politicians to be able to influence the political powers that be.

That’s how Washington works. And that’s also the key to understand the role of former leader of the Brazilian lower house Eduardo Cunha; he ran a campaign financing racket out of Congress itself, controlling dozens of politicians while profiting from proverbially fat state contracts.

The Three Stooges in what I called the Provisional Banana Scoundrel Republic are Cunha, Calheiros and Temer. Temer is a mere puppet while Cunha remains a sort of shadow Prime Minister, running the show. But not for long. He’s already been suspended as the speaker in Congress; he bagged millions of US dollars in kickbacks for those fat contracts and stashed the loot in secret Swiss accounts; now it’s a matter of time before the Supreme Court has the balls – it’s not a given — to throw him in the slammer.

NATO vs. BRICS, all across the spectrum

And that brings us once again to The Big Picture, as we proceed in parallel with an analysis by Rafael Bautista, the head of a decolonization study group in La Paz, Bolivia. He’s one of the best and brightest in South America who’s very much alert to the fact that whatever happens in Brazil in the next few months will drive the future not only of South America but the whole Global South.

Exceptionalistan’s project for Brazil is no less than the imposition of a remixed Monroe doctrine. The main target of a planned neoliberal restoration is to cut off South America from the BRICS – as in, essentially, the Russia-China strategic partnership.

Obama’s Legacy: US Strategy of Chaos Got Out of Control
It’s a short window of opportunity after all those years under the Bush-Obama continuum where Washington was obsessed with MENA (Middle East/Northern Africa), a.k.a. the Greater Middle East. Now South America is back in a starring role in the geopolitical (soft) war theatre. Getting rid of Dilma, Lula, the Workers’ Party, by all means available, is only the start.
It all comes back to the same, defining 21st century war; NATO against the BRICS; the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO); and ultimately the Russia-China strategic partnership. Smashing the “B” in BRICS carries with it the bonus of smashing Mercosur (the South American common market); Unasur (the political Union of South American Nations); ALBA (the Bolivarian Alliance); and South American integration as a whole, compounded with integration with key emerging Global South players such as Iran.

The ongoing destabilization of “Syraq” fits the Empire of Chaos; when there’s no regional integration, the only other possibility is balkanization. And yet Russia graphically demonstrated to Beltway planners they cannot win a war in Syria while Iran demonstrated after the nuclear deal that it won’t become a Washington vassal. So the Empire of Chaos might as well secure its own backyard.

A new geopolitical framework had to be part of the package. That’s where the concept of “North America” fits in, backed by the Council on Foreign Relations and devised mostly by former Iraq surge superstar David Petraeus and former World Bank honcho Bob Zoellick, now with Goldman Sachs. Call it a mini who’s who of Exceptionalistan.

You won't see it enounced in public, but the Petraeus/Zoellick concept of “North America” presupposes regime changing and gobbling up Venezuela. The Caribbean is seen as a Mare Nostrum, an American lake. “North America” is in fact a strategic offensive.

It implies controlling the massive oil and water wealth of the Orinoco and the Amazonas, something that would forever guarantee Exceptionalistan’s preeminence south of the border.

The Caribbean is already a done deal; after all Washington controls CAFTA. South America is a tougher nut to crack, roughly polarized by what’s left of ALBA and the US-driven Pacific Alliance. With Brazil falling to a neoliberal restoration, it’s over as a promoter of regional integration. Mercosur would eventually be absorbed into the Pacific Alliance – especially with a man like Serra as Brazil’s top diplomat. So, politically, South America must be annulled at all costs.

What’s left for South America would be its aggregation — as marginal players, part of the US-driven Pacific Alliance — to those NATO on trade deals, the TPP and TTIP. The “pivot to Asia” – of which TPP is the trade arm — is the Obama doctrine’s push for containment of China, not only in Asia but also across Asia-Pacific. Thus it’s natural that China (Brazil’s number one trade partner) should also be contained in the hegemon’s backyard, South America.

From the Atlantic to the Pacific, and beyond

It’s never enough to stress the geo-economic importance of South America. The only way South America can be fully integrated to the multipolar world is by opening up to the Pacific, boosting its strategic connection with Asia, especially China. That’s where the Chinese push to invest in a massive high-speed rail project uniting the Brazilian Atlantic coast with Peru in the Pacific fits in. That’s South American interconnectivity in a nutshell. If Brazil is politically annulled, none of this will ever happen.

Looking ‘Beyond South America’: Brazil Hopes to Become True Global Power
So every coup is now literally allowed in South America; indirect attacks to the Brazilian currency, the real; bribing local comprador elites with the backing of the global financial system; a concerted attempt at the implosion, simultaneously, of the top three economies: Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela. SOUTHCOM went so far as to produce a report on “Venezuela Freedom” earlier this year, signed by commander Kurt Tidd, which proposes a “strategy of tension”, complete with “encirclement” and “suffocation” techniques and allowing to mix street action with a “calculated” use of armed violence. Echoes of Chile 1973 do apply.
South America is now arguably the prime geopolitical space where Exceptionalistan is laying the bases to restore its unrivalled hegemony — as part of a multi-dimensional, geo-finance war against the BRICS bent on perpetuating the unipolar world.

All previous moves have lead to this geostrategy of imploding the BRICS and reducing South America to an appendix of North America.

Wikileaks revealed how the NSA spied on Petrobras. In 2008 Brazil came up with its own National Defense Strategy, focused on two key areas; the South Atlantic and the Amazon. This did not sit well with SOUTHCOM. Unasur should have developed it to a continental level, but they didn’t.

Lula decided to award to Petrobras the prime exploitation of the pre-salt deposits – the largest oil discovery of the 21st century. Dilma’s administration gave a firm push to the BRICS’s New Development Bank (based on the Brazilian BNDES) and also decided to accept Iranian payments bypassing the US dollar. Anyone involved in South-South trade bypassing the US dollar enters a kill list.

Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton
© AFP 2016/ DON EMMERT
Hillary Clinton Wins Virgin Islands Democratic Contest
Hillary Clinton is the presidential candidate of Wall Street, the Pentagon, the industrial-military complex and the neocons. She is the Goddess of War – and in a Bush-Obama-Clinton continuum she will go to war against any player in the Global South that dares to defy Exceptionalistan.
So the die is cast. We will know for sure by the time there’s a new US President — and arguably a new, unelected Brazilian President — in early 2017. The geostrategic game though remains the same; Brazil must fall so BRICS-led integration must fall, and Exceptionalistan may concentrate all its firepower in an all-out confrontation against Russia-China.

"The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media." -- William Colby, former CIA Director, cited by Dave Mcgowan, Derailing Democracy

"There is quite an incredible spread of relationships. You don't need to manipulate Time magazine, for example, because there are [Central Intelligence] Agency people at the management level." -- William B. Bader, former CIA intelligence officer, briefing members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, The CIA and the Media, by Carl Bernstein

"The Agency's relationship with [The New York] Times was by far its most valuable among newspapers, according to CIA officials. [It was] general Times policy ... to provide assistance to the CIA whenever possible." -- The CIA and the Media, by Carl Bernstein

"For some time I have been disturbed by the way the CIA has been diverted from its original assignment. It has become an operational and at times a policy-making arm of the government.... I never had any thought that when I set up the CIA that it would be injected into peacetime cloak and dagger operations." --former President Harry Truman, 22 December 1963, one month after the JFK assassination, op-ed section of the Washington Post, early edition

As terrible as it is to live in a nation where the press in known to be controlled by the government, at least one has the advantage of knowing the bias is present, and to adjust for it. In the United States of America, we are taught from birth that our press is free from such government meddling. This is an insidious lie about the very nature of the news institution in this country. [It is} one that allows the government to lie to us while denying the very fact of the lie itself.

The Problem With Race Wars Among Minorities: Taki's Magazine
By Jim Goad

__________

The "Progressive" Democratic narrative is that there are "white supremacists" and then there are all the other minorities struggling to survive against the racism with support of some enlightened whites like them, who stand up for the good cause, not much different from "Hindutvavadis against all the rest" rhetoric from the sickulars.

Well behind the curtains of this narrative is the real story, that many minorities don't get along with others.

The alleged anti-Hispanic stance of Donald Trump means there would be lots of African-Americans willing to look at Donald Trump again. There is not that much African migration into USA, but unrestricted Hispanic migration into the US, illegal immigrants who would be taking away meager jobs away from the African-Americans. After all there are only that many jobs going around.

So the WALL is in the interest of African-Americans.

Besides the othering of Hispanics and Muslims by Trump, makes African-Americans feel all the more American.

So there would be many blacks moving over to Trump, but the presence of Obama would ensure that most still remain with Hillary.

Trump could neutralize the Obama factor if Trump chooses a respected African-American with a prominent profile as his veep nominee, someone like Condoleezza Rice.

Black vote is in play.

there is nothing wrong with hispanics per se.

but any minority that crosses a certain number and becomes a strong minority bordering on a majority then loses the capacity to assimilate.
the hispanics who flood into USA from across the border illegaly now a days are not coming to assimilate, they do not need to. They have achieved critical mass in their community in USA to absorb them without learning english, or without any need to adapt to *american values*.

So the violence seen in San Francisco & california against Trump is basically an assertion from hispanics that have no need to integrate and are asking those *asserting* american 'values' to keep off.

*american values* mean to prevent entry of Chinese, Indians are whosoever and do so only on basis of their bank statements, which basically means those of color are *basically unwelcome* but we welcome your money.

americans are sad, because they cannot apply this basic premise to the illegal crossing mexicans/guatemalans who come without visas.

So what Trump is saying is right, but there is no way he can put it politically correctly.

But the people who support Trump are also essentially racist and are only against immigration of brown people. You have to choose between lesser of two evils.

Normally what one gets is that historically the most vocal group gets to hog the most space on a broad political platform and as such one starts thinking that the whole platform is similar to the vocal group. This is true for "right of center" as well as "left of center", but often there is a lot of "center" in there as well.

The white supremacists among Trump supporters would naturally get the most spotlight, both on their own accord, but also because the Dem-aligned media would like to highlight that.

Rajesh the institutional premise of USA is if you are a person of color you are unwelcome, we do not need your color in our country, you have body odor. You know how they call mexicans 'wetbacks'.

Exceptions are made in every category, in case you are *rich*. In that case, we welcome your money, so we have no option but to welcome the smelly ahole that comes with that money.

Even liberals in the country or even those in centre have to calibrate themselves eventually to this premise.

Illegal immigration though will eventually create a mexico clone in their southern parts, with drug gangs ruling the roost, the crime rate rampant. This is what Trump may be against.

So even liberals will kick back to the institutional position, which is all non-white immigrants are bad. This has been happening there in cycles for endless times.

To say that there are good people in this camp is meaningless, because they never raise their voice and their voice is never heard.

Most like to package this as "white supremacism" and see it as a social evil which requires some moral positioning. I like to see it simply as a form of tribalism, where some tribes are better off and some less well-off with cooperation and competition among them. It is the technological edge, martial culture, popular culture, capital, historical narrative, etc. which puts one tribe over the other. We have some strong points and whites have some strong points.

The "progressive" world of non-tribalism and universal morality is a superficial contrived world created to push white elite and white tribal interests with some integration and excessive propaganda, all controlled under the moniker "political correctness". Problem is when Indians buy into this, start believing the PR. It is fine for Indians to play along and for us too to have our very own universal morality PR.

In my world view, there really isn't one tribe or another in any way intrinsically superior than the other, but some tribes are better positioned than the others and some tribes have a better tuned disposition towards advancing their position.

Trump is saying that "political correctness" route of white elite advancement has stopped being beneficial to the white tribe and some honesty would be good for white tribal interests.

It does not mean that the white tribe would stop appreciating the money of the browns. That would continue. BUT, Trump is saying that with regard to troublesome Hispanics and Muslims, the whites should start giving more weight to their security interests, which cannot be done, staying withing the confines of "political correctness" especially with regard to these two communities.

The choice is between "political correctness" and "progressive" Maya which aids the forces of sickularism in India, thus undermining the tribal interests of Indians, vs. tribal honesty towards communities that do not affect Indians, and if it affects, some effects, say w.r.t. Islam, may even be positive.

There appear to be two strategies towards creating an understanding of America.
One is to try to create one's own perspective.
The second is to first absorb and make one's own the American biases, prejudices and worldview, and then to introspect.

The second may actually be more effective, but kind of misses the point. :)

Please do not go there. Modi never badmouthed Muslims or made disparaging comments about women before coming up with "Sabka saath...".

About this Orlando gay nightclub massacre: Is the ISIS so very far from the T-Party in this I wonder. I bet there is as much celebration among the Republican far-right as there was in Pakistan on 9/12/2001.

Note that another would-be attacker was arrested as the LA Pride whatever, with explosives. Do you remember the bomb and gun attacks on abortion clinics back in the '90s? That was no ISIS...

My theory is that guy was a psychopath in the dark triad area : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_triad

They are the kind of people who will willingly wear a soosai belt "just for fun". Some folks have argued that they are high functioning "automatons": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8vajzo6rlE

There are always people like this, its part of the spectrum of "human beings", but I think their religion and their belief makes it okay to "express" their psychopathy. Hence ISIS or no ISIS, if a set of beliefs bring out psychopaths, there will be a lot of blood-letting.

Interesting...please provide some data / breakup of killings and type by each of T-Party and iSIS and we can evaluate their commonalities or lack thereof.

Orlando terrorist attack impacts many US tenets/ monuments.
First of all this terrorist came under FBI watch twice/thrice in 2013 and 2014. And was let off as they could not find anything criminal in his behavior. FBI can arrest him only if committed a crime.
Also recall CAIR and other #Islamcysts were on a rampage to claim stereotyping and profiling of Muslims. And note his employer did not take action when things were brought up for action lest they be accused of profiling and anti-discrimination. So associating and expressing support to Islamic causes was within his 1st Amendment rights.

Second of all since the guy did not break any laws and was working as a security guard his buying guns was in his 2nd Amendment rights. He is born citizen.
So both 1st and 2nd Amendments are protecting him.

However, FBI should have been notified by the databases once he purchased those two guns last fortnight ( And they found another gun in his vehicle.). This should not violate any rights.
We still need to hear more details of the response but Florida Police seems to be better equipped and responded well. Its very sad that it took 3 hours to end it and meantime 103 people got shot.
And 49 were killed.
Also calling it 50 dead makes the killer same as his victims and has been now corrected.

I think US needs a new Counter Terrorist Agency outside FBI which is completely responsible for action against terrorists.
The current CT interagency task force and NCTC are not working.
This new agency need not have arrest powers which the FBI already has.
So they go to the FBI and local police for the arrests.

Ramana: 1st Amendment Rights are suspended if there is an "call to incipient violence". There was a Supreme Court judgment about this. All Islamic phrases in Quran & Hadiths that call for violence against the infidel must be placed in this category. Any recitation of such phrases, preaching, FB posting etc must be considered as a "call to incipient violence" and 1st Amendment must be revoked for such persons.

Yes, it will make the movement go underground. But Islam is a religion that thrives on being overground for its recruitment. By forcing it to go underground, its oxygen is deprived.

What this will result in is a "sanitized version of Quran/Hadith". If Islam won't reform itself, it must be forced to reform.

FYI from See Enn Enn
The FBI interviewed him in 2013 and 2014 after he expressed sympathy for a suicide bomber, Assistant Special Agent Ronald Hopper said. Hopper said the interviews were "inconclusive," which meant there was no reason to keep them going but did not expound. It remains unclear what, if anything, the interviews covered or why the probes were dropped.

FBI Director James Comey said Monday that the agency is "highly confident" the gunman was radicalized, at least in part, by viewing extremism on the Internet.

Mateen initially engaged in a shootout with an officer and then retreated back into the club.
At around 5 a.m., police used an armored vehicle to punch through a wall and began pulling people to safety. The gunman came out of that hole, too, and exchanged fire with police, who shot him dead,

She (ex-bibi Uzbekistani) said Mateen was bipolar, although he was not formally diagnosed. She also said he had a history with steroids. He was religious but she said she doesn't think his religion played a role in the attack.

Also, now CNN says that "gunman was REPORTED for claiming Al Qaeda ties... but free biscuits investigated and found nothing".

Kinda Minority Report type question - what good would it do if no crime has been committed yet? Someone would file it under "American brother Osama bought guns. Must be planning a party." and go back to sleep.

there are some 350 mil legal guns in the US alone. unless they start tracking all transactions by all muslims using some uber "Hive mind" type computer , I doubt so much red flagging is feasible for lack of humans to go over the huge number of false positives generated. eg. abu usama just got himself a set of kitchen knives - is it for the veggies , or someone's throat.

I am sure the sw for all this pattern matching and history searching exists but how much is too much ?

good example of how accusations of islamophobia is even more threatening than accusations of misogynism, racism and homophobia

http://dailycaller.com/2016/06/13/co-wo ... incorrect/
Daniel Gilroy used to work at G4S Security and complained to the company numerous times about Mateen’s derogatory comments regarding homosexuals and people of other races. He also talked about massacring people.

Gilroy said G4S Security did absolutely nothing in response to the complaints for fear of being politically correct, as 29-year-old Mateen was an open Muslim, Florida Today reports.

Yes, and he could "atone his grave sins" in the only way possible! Islam would prescribe only this form of atonement.

Basically then gay Islamists may be even more dangerous to gays than straight Islamists. Gay clubs are responsible for turning a pious Muslim into a gay fetishist, and for that as per Islam, they have to pay the price!

Who knows, may be most of Jihadis are simply Muslim gays trying to atone for their "grave sins"! No wonder Pakistan produces the most terrorists considering that they are not just gay (which would be ok, I guess) but sexually the most most perverted people on the planet and thus a people needing the most atonement!

Donald Trump lays out his thinking on Radical Islam and the terrorist attack on Pulse Club, Orlando, Florida. Watch @2:20

It is the breakdown of the "Progressive and Liberal" coalition which tries to on the one hand to put all "ethnic and religious minorities" together under one roof and on the other tries to marry Islam conservatism with LGBT culture.

It is perhaps a moment in history of Conservatives where they embrace cultural liberalism in the form of LGBT and reject the "freedom of religion" platform, which gave Islam a free run in the West.
